Thought that now brings up the question of whether Eldritch City and Neotropolis are in the same super-universe.

I mean, in that Lilian thing I was starting to run with the magic coffee shop and stuff, there was a Werewolf and Mage that were working for a secret order that keeps the occult in check as a global "Men in Black" for magic stuff...
Yes. No. Undecided. Does it really matter if Gotham and Metropolis are in the separate world unless there are crossovers? For that matter, with them both representing different aspects of New York city are they really in parallel universes of what could have been?

Yay! I did something right!
You now also need to remind me of where these guys were introduced, because I need to figure out why I didn't remember them... :P
Spectrum wrote: Thu Dec 21, 2017 11:24 pm And with the Lancasters... I honestly have no idea how Incredibles shenanigans would work. Kenneth's a super-genius even amongst super-geniuses, and has Techno-Control as a power. Linda is capable of mental invisbility and psychic shrouds, as well as mentally editing the memories of a couple dozen people in the span of a few seconds.

Dexter would be shocked at what his parents, especially his mother, were up to. They were very Iron Age heroes. Linda in particular was the bendy straw spined scantily clad psychic ninja chick.
Oh good lord... All the cringe.

On the up side, she went from Psylock to Professor X: from ninja, to homemaker. So that's an improvement on the "how does your spine bend that way?!" thing.

Now I've got to wonder about Kenneth's days now - you would think he'd just have a bottomless bag or something using space-warping tech or gloves that teleport the gear he wants directly to him, but he had excessive pouches, didn't he? Rows and rows of pouches full of nothing but useless tech just to look cool!

Good lord, now I'm feeling embarrassed.
Spectrum wrote: Thu Dec 21, 2017 11:24 pmAlso, Waheed going serious would be kinda interesting. To borrow from Worm terminology, what manner of Tinker specialty would he have?

Whatforis Worm?
It's a superhero web-novel. I haven't actually read much more than the first few chapters (really dark and grim for my tastes, like holy crap), but some of the fanfics people write about it are funny and draw my attention.

Basically, in Worm, there's this organization called the PRT that acts as law-enforcement for people with powers. They came up with a Classification system that rated parahumans (of which there are many) based on their threat-type and level, so agents in the field would be able to tailor their strategies to dealing with the different types of superpowers out there using known tactics for each time.

In short, Tinkers are basically super-tech makers, and each one's got a specialty that they're really good at when it comes to making schizo-tech. Like, some are good at making vehicles, others are building making tech tiny, and others are great with architecture, but all of them build schizo-tech that wouldn't be out of place on Neotropolis' streets.
Spectrum wrote: Thu Dec 21, 2017 11:24 pmAnd as to the "Samaritan Harem"... Would you believe that I never intended that to happen? It just sort of... happened. I mean, I'm not complaining - it's hilarious fun because Dexter can't see himself as the object of girls' attention, but they are anyways.

So, I like harem anime series. I''m not ashamed of it at all. Really... really?
No reason to fear! I'm a fan too! *salutes*

I laugh because it was unexpected, but it makes total sense given my inspirations for Dexter.

Yeah, that makes sense.

But now I'm wondering about what government super-teams there are in Neotropolis. My belief was that they were mostly covert-ops only, in the vein of early SHIELD, than anything else, and focused on working in the shadows. Kind of like an evolution to the spy-game, where all these threats that the heroes are tangentially aware of but not directly involved in are being dealt with - just not in the way that involves rather flashy guys like us.

So, folks like Chimera, the Black Syndicate and The Mandarin are still being opposed - just on the covert side than our 'public' methods.

Pretty cool TedTalk about thorium based nuclear energy. It sounds a little err... miraculous? but that is the stuff that Neotropolis is dreamed from.
