As you can tell, I'm sure Ana and Wally will be best friends.

"studentata" was fun to come up with.

But yeah, I wouldn't go printing up 'Wally - Ana BFFs' t-shirts any time soon.

I am totally seeing a Superboy and Black Canary situation forming, except Wally doesn't have super strength. :P

I'll post up after work in a few hours. Bladewind, wanna situate where Kevin is at this point later in the evening? Wally said an hour after dinner if I recall, so it would be around 7-7:30 pm I suppose.

I originally didn't see Kevin participating, but given his respect for Wally's ability, I'll have him head up.
On my way out the door at work, I'll post within the hour.

Was the intention for Brittany to be where the class will end up?

The funny thing is that I've actually been a martial arts instructor (only leaving because of a dislocated shoulder). I've had these same arguments with some of my fellow instructors.

I was a bouncer and a security guard for many years.

A level head and keeping calm during pandemonium has served me more often than pain compliance techniques.

However having both tools is even better. :D

I have the benefit of having touched on several martial arts, modern and historical, eastern and western originating. So I have seen a lot of philosophies and how times and cultures vary them somewhat, which has led to me having my own philosophies on it based on all the different things I have learned and experienced personally.

Oh yeah, Wally definitely has a skewed philosophy on when to fight and how hard. Wally's fighting philosophy (as I'm imagining him) has WAY too much EGO in it. (Something we told our students [and instructors] to leave at the door in our school). It would serve someone who's lived on the streets, but wouldn't do to teach kids at a school.
Braddock would probably be able to spot that... I look forward to seeing how she talks Wally out of trying to instill that on others.
I mean, Wally's whole idea to 'fight with everything' is not really viable with the legality of today's society. It tends toward 'excessive force' whereas a good martial arts training program will teach when/how to use 'just enough force'. Wally was describing 3 modes: no fight, fight to cripple {then escape}, or fight to destroy {either destroying their will to fight or killing them outright}. This might sound cool to some people, especially how he's presenting it, but in NO WAY would it work in 'proper society'. Martial arts training does.

It might be weird that I'm arguing in a way contrary to the character I'm playing, but I just wanted you to know where I'm coming from. :)

Yay roleplaying.

On the contrary, adds depth to your character.
