Background:

Brittney grew up in a normal middle class family in Connecticut. Her mother enrolled her in gymnastics classes wen she was a toddler. As the only girl of 5 children, Brittney was spoiled by her mother. Nearly anything she wanted, her mother bought for her. Life was great until one fateful day when she was 12.

Brittney was being harassed at school by some 8th graders. It wasn't the first time they had bullied her. Today, however, would be the last. They grabbed her and threw her into the showers fully clothed. She tried to get away but they blocked her exit. As the water cascaded down upon her, Brittney’s rage grew as never before. Her skin began to glow red hot and the water started turning to steam. The older girls noticed and started backing away in fright. Brittney strode towards them, increasing her pace as her quarry moved away faster. Brittney managed to grab one of the girls by the arm as they retreated. The girl screamed in pain as Brittneys touch burned. The screams shocked Brittney back to reality. She let go of the girl and, after seeing the damage , ran away.

She ran home and hid in her room. She was scared and worried. Scared of what she had done and worried she might accidentally hurt someone she cared about. Her heart skipped a beat when the phone rang. After several minutes her mother knocked on her bedroom door. Her mother talked with her for quite some time. Eventually their talk was interrupted by the doorbell. Her mother went downstairs to answer it. Brittney hid at the top of the stairs and listened as 2 men told her mother they were here to pick up her daughter.

Brittney freaked out. She ducked back into her room, grabbed her gym duffle bag, stuffed a couple of outfits and what little money she had into it, and climbed out the window.

Brittney ran away as far as she could. It took weeks but she made it to Los Angeles, California. Along the way she worked a few odd jobs for money to buy food and snuck into schools and gyms to shower. Sometimes she was forced to steal food and clothing but it bothered her to do so. Once in L.A., she lived on the streets and continued to earn a little money walking dogs, washing dishes, sweeping floors, etc. From time to time during her trip she would call her mother just to hear her voice. On several occasions she had the impression that someone was listening in on the call.

One day while she was working out at a gym a woman approached her. The woman was wearing typical workout clothes so she didn't look like anyone she should worry about. The woman started using the elliptical next to her. After a minute or so, the woman spoke quietly. She told Brittney not to be afraid, that she was here to help her. She told her that there were others like her, others with strange abilities. The woman told Brittney about a school for those gifted people. A school where she could learn not only traditional subjects but how to control her gifts.

Brittney didn't trust this woman and questioned her motives. The woman explained that she had gifts as well. Then she grabbed Brittney by the arm. Brittney felt cold, very cold. It was like being outside in the winter without a coat. Brittney stared at the woman with wide, disbelieving eyes. The woman let go and watched as the frostbite quickly dissipated.

Brittney still wasn't sure how much to trust this woman but she was the first person she had met that was different. She agreed to go with the woman. After they finished working out, showered, and dressed, they were soon on a plane to New York State.

That was 2 years ago. Brittney has learned much about herself and met dozens of others like her. One of the first things she learned was that she, and others like her, were mutants. Her powers have grown in those 2 years along with her understanding of how they work. It was discovered that somehow Brittney can tap into the incredible power of the geothermal heat deep inside the planet. She discovered other things about her powers as well including their limitations.

Complications:

Weakness: Extreme cold. During testing, it was discovered that Brittneys powers are negated by exposure to extreme cold for prolonged periods of time. Subsequent exposure to intense heat like an oven or furnace quickly returns her abilities.

Uncontrolled: Brittney sometimes loses control when she gets extremely angry. This causes her to overload and catch nearby objects on fire.

Mistrust: Brittney is fearful of law enforcement and government officials (men in black). She is worried they will track her down and lock her up in a remote location.

"The sharks in the ocean go chomp chomp chomp~!"
PL 8
Name/Codename: Ana Sofia Moya / Sharq "get it? It's like shark, but with a q instead of a k! I know, it's super clever. "
Age: 16
Height + Weight: 5'0" / 90 lbs.
Ethnicity/Nationality: Hispanic/American
Distinguishing Characteristics: Sharp triangular teeth with a slight overbite, rough blue skin, blue hair covering right side of her face, slit pupils, and a large pointy nose.
Languages: English, Spanish

Complications
Motivation; Thrills : Always an athletic girl, Ana rarely avoided the chance to compete and show off her skills. The adrenaline rush she get's when she's rushing down the track, speeding through water, or jumping into a fight is all she requires to ensure a good time.
Obvious Mutant: Ana is one of the more obvious mutants with her blue skin and sharp teeth, and as such needs to hide herself in public with hooded clothing.
Sensitive of her looks: Even before puberty activated her x gene she'd been made fun of for years over her long nose and overbite. Anyone wanting to take her down a peg or goad her into a fight need only make a few rude remarks about her appearance before tears roll or her fists fly. Often both.
Carnivore: Her digestive system has completely changed since she obtained her powers, and she can't process plant matter of any sort. Even small amounts of candy make her very sick. Raw, uncooked and unseasoned meat and bone is all she can really handle. Fish luckily fill this role surprisingly well.
Second generation mutant: Her father, Oscar Moya, is himself a mutant. Like his daughter he possesses hard blue skin and a carnivorous diet. Though unlike his more amphibious daughter, Oscar requires specialized equipment to live out of water. Adding a touch of embarrassment to her life, Ana's father is a member of the school's faculty.

-------------------------------------
Biography:
Ana had always been bullied as a child, even before kids learned her father was a mutant or she came into her own heritage. Maybe it was just her general attitude around others, or that they thought she just looked funny. It started in preschool and followed her in every subsequent grade after.

While always being levied with taunts and insults, the verbal abuse really kicked off when she was ten and her body started to undergo mutation. It was no longer classmates insulting her nose or snickering behind her back, she became outright feared and kids would start chanting even worse things. Seacow, fishface, sharkbait, mutant.

It just kept coming. And with those insults came her teeth, and the assault charges shortly after. Her parents just barely managed to get her sentence turned into a year of community service rather then a few years in juvie. Since that instant, she was pulled out of school and became home-schooled exclusively.

Trouble didn't end there. With their status as a mutant majority household their family was constantly on the move, her parents never managing to hold a job for more then a couple years. They've gone from a modest townhouse, to run down houses, then it was apartments, until they eventually ended up in a trailer home two years ago.

As a result of the constant moves and years spent out of school, Ana had become pent up and restless and tried her hardest to make the best of a bad situation. The first few months in a new town was a time spent exploring and finding any kids willing to talk to her for longer them a few minutes. Even the occasional fistfight was a welcomed experience, but she never allowed herself to snap into a frenzy as she did years ago.

The young mutant was ready and willing to accept this semi-nomadic lifestyle as being her entire future in a world that detested mutantkind, but all of that changed in an instant. Her father, an aspiring teacher in his youth, had finally been offered a job in his chosen profession. A real job. A real high-paying job!

All they had to do was move one final time. And once the prestigious headmaster Charles Xavier learned of Oscar's daughter, he even extended the offer to enroll her into his program free of charge. The family couldn't accept this great opportunity soon enough.

Ana was ecstatic and hopeful. All her life she'd been ridiculed and excluded, and now she was finally given the chance to live and learn alongside people who wouldn't judge her because of things she couldn't control. Other mutants, just like her.

She'd never been so happy for the first day of school in her entire life.

-Ana, in several ways, is like a sleeker more efficient human shaped shark. Her powerful jaws are equipped with several rows wickedly sharp teeth, which like normal sharks are constantly lost and replaced. Her lungs are uniquely specialized in such a way that she can breath water without the need of external gills just as easily as she can breath air. The girl's eyes are adept at piercing through the dimly lit shallows sharks are known to prey, and her senses of smell is incredibly powerful.

Her most impressive ability however arises from her rough blue tinted skin. While the hard hide is tough enough to shrug off weaker blows, there's also possess an odd property that's triggered once covered in sufficient moisture. The Hydrogen molecules cling to the surface of her skin where they are manipulated at an atomic level to bend and refract light at an incredible rate. In essence- Once she's submerged, she turns wholly invisible!

Complications
Accident: Energy discharge. Robbie's Bio-Energy is constantly building. If he does not periodically discharge energy, it will build until a critical mass. Physical contact with Robbie at the very least causes an unpleasant static discharge. Prolonged contact is potentially lethal.

Quirk: Robbie cannot sleep. Like ever! Imagine having 10 cups of coffee and that is how Robbie feels...all-the-time! He almost always has an overabundance of energy. Sometimes he comes off as hyper and paranoid. He has been learning meditation techniques so he does not keep the school up at night.

Background:
Robbie Lindeman was born in Upstate New York to a single mom. Since a young age, he was always a hyperactive child. After several incidents in grade school, he was diagnosed with ADHD and was considered to be on the Autism Spectrum. Treatments did little to help and it seemed like his condition only grew worse as he got older. By the time he was 15 he rarely slept unless sedated, and he even began to stop eating. After several days of "fasting," his Mother and Doctor decided to have him hospitalized and force-fed. When the orderlies arrived at his home and grabbed him sparks flew as if a large amount of static electricity was discharged. His Doctor quickly realized more was going on and referred him to a "Specialist" in Westchester County. Where he learned his brain functioned normally, but his extreme hyperactivity was due to a large excess of Bio-Energy that he was constantly generating. Robbie enrolled in the Xavier School not long after.

Power Points
Abilities 30 + Powers 61 + Advantages 2 + Skills 12 + Defenses 15 = Total 120
Complications
:arrow: Vulnerable: Ice takes an extra degree of failure against fire/heat based effects (but not environmental effects)
:arrow: Power Loss: Extreme heat or massive dehyhdration can sometimes prevent him from being able to use his powers, especially his snow and ice forms
:arrow: Enemy: Although its early days in the campaign, Robert's uncle has plans for the young mutant and would love nothing more to coerce him into working for him and using his powers on the other side of the law.
:arrow: Motivation: Acceptance: Robert can pass for a normal, relatively good looking young man. Be that as it may, he's at Xavier's mostly because his parents are afraid of him and don't want to remain close to him. (The truth is they still love their son, but are afraid of his power.)

Design Notes
:arrow: Although quite powerful, to have access to his Protection, he needs to be in Ice Form, per the comics. I also included the Snow Form as I like the possibilities that it implies.
:arrow: Classic heat weakness, but I can't see your average heat wave having any real effect on him.
:arrow: I have precise on most of his ice and cold powers - that's mostly because while I like the concept of the Features listed in the Cold Profiles supplement, they seem more small parts of his existing powers - making a drink cold, making ice cubes, make snowballs or snowcones, give people chills when he walks in a room, making hot food cool or cold...
:arrow: I like to put potential power stunts every now and again for things that I ran out of points on, and for things to reach for eventually with PP.
:arrow: I'm leaning towards the confident yet laid back version of this character - not wanting to be a leader but can if he has to. There's enough angst to go around any X-men series, so I will probably leave that to the side and as for sexual orientation I'm not really into caring much about that aspect of the character. If something happens in game to make it relevant, I'll decide then. As for right now, I could see him having quite the rivalry with Thermic.
:idea: Making some suggested changes - one, the background. This is what happens when you get an idea stuck in your head and you came in on page nine... redoing background to make the character original... (sorry !)
:idea: Changed the create to be continuous and reversible. Drops the ranks, but I think I will compensate a little with it being proportional. The stronger the ice, the less thick as it relies more on stress points than sheer density...
:idea: A;so fixed an oops - miss calculated, and Cryokinesis can't be first power in the array.... Took two points (four ranks) from skills to balance

Background
Yes. My name is Winters and I can generate ice. Ironic ain't it?

Kevin Winters was born in Montreal, Canada to Michel Lariviere and Janet Winters. He took (or was given) his mother's maiden name when his parents split. Janet moved with Kevin to the states to start a new life with the blessing of his father (the split was amicable) and all seemed like it would be OK.

Kevin Winters was 15 when his powers manifested. Trapped in a burning building - a friend's apartment, the event was actually completely unrelated to the group he was with - Kevin's powers were what kept the group from burning and to an extent from asphyxiating. Although the friends initially wanted to keep things under wraps, the lack of fire damage and their safety made that impossible. Shunned and feared by people who didn't understand him (including his father at this point - which was a huge blow because of how supportive he'd been up til now) Kevin was ready to run way, but before he could do that, Charles Xavier showed up at his door with an offer for him and his mother.

Wally [exerpt from psych evaluation]: "I 'immigrated' from Dover Harbour, England. (Yes, its got a 'U' you heathen colonists.) You'd migrate too if everythin' smelled like fish an' you had ta look at France every day. 'Immigrated' in this case means I made my way to London an lived on tha streets until some toffer inna wheely chair found me jus' as I was liftin' quid offa some rich bird downtown. He made me put back me hard-earned cash an' brought me cross tha pond ta a swanky school in New York (which I gotta say, I've never been ta 'Old' York, but I gotta think it smells heaps better than the city bastardizing it's name)."

"Okay, I admit it. I aint never had tuppence ta rub together. What? Ya won't me ta say my step-father was a faffer with a penchant ta knock me about when he was in his cups an me Mum was a knackered nark til she died when I was 9? It was hard on my sis when that happened. She became the target for Step-Dad's.... Look, she pulled a runner when I was 12. Things got uglier for me but that was fine. Fine. I was 13 when I found out I was a mutie. When I learned I could make space go off at all these wonky angles, (sorta like... fold the world askew an such, get it? Me handle: Skew. Tha's clever that is.) Anyways, I thought I'd get outta tha' bunghole of a town, make meself a arseload of money, buy me own flat, maybe a couple Astin Martins like Bond's got, an live the high life, Bob's yer uncle. Only it didn't work out that way. Nuffin but a begger's life stealin' to survive out there, dodgin' tha bobbies and pinching ta eat. It was always excitin' though. I dunno how it's gonna work here at Stuffed-Shirt Finishing Academy for Mutie-Freaks, but I'll give it a go. Dun worry about yer fine China and silver candlesticks, I promised no sticky fingers while I'm 'ere; your stuff's safe as houses. No other kids better not think they can mess wif me though. My power may not be the flashest in a dust up but I can be a crafty and vendictive sod. An' if powers don't come into it I've been in my fair share of scraps."

-Enhanced trait - Improved Critical 4 to unarmed strike (4p)
{Wally can reach through spatial skews to pick someone's pocket or manually manipulate an object. He creates a portal by his eye to let him see through intervening space as well. He can also punch someone in the back of the head or in the nads hence the Improved critical. With Indirect 4 this attack can come from any direction anywhere so the target might be vulnerable the first few attacks (GMs call). Of course he's still thwarted if the inside space is dark.}
AE: Enhanced Trait, Affects other only, Add Perception Range to any close or ranged attack up to power 10 (20points), Reach 8 {adds 40 feet to the touch range of who he grants the Perception Range too}
Feature -Skew picks target.
{Flavor-wise, Wally creates a portal for an ally near him and chooses the end point of that portal. The ally CAN (they are under no obligation to do so) attack through the portal and hit that target.
Mechanically, Wally's touch-range effect (extended to 40ft) grants the target (who must be an ally and willing or else the effect would have the 'Attack' modifier) increased range-Perception for one of their attacks (either Close or Ranged), up to PL10. But it would normally let whoever he was Enhancing pick their target so the Feature represents that Wally controls the target.}
AE: - Remote sensing (Sight/Hearing), Simultaneous, Subtle{DC25 to detect}, Quirk: No depth perception in either sense, PR 5,
- Communication (Auditory), Subtle pr 2
{Wally creates small portals in front of his eye of just inside his ear, scanning an area [up to 900 feet] with them. DC27 to Notice. He can likewise whisper/Speak through a portal almost directly in someone's ear if need be [Up to a mile].}
AE: Teleport, Portal, Extended, Change Direction, Precise pr 5
{Silvery portals let Wally step 900 ft, or, if he pushes it, 30 miles, but the journey is jarring (Vulnerable for 1 round).}

Run up portals; Flight 1, Platform [1pp]
{Wally can create silvery portals that lead to the ground and run up them like stairs or stand on one to hover.}

Offenses:
initiative: +6
Unarmed, +8, DC 18 Toughness

Abilities 20+ Skills30 + Advantages6 + Defenses12 + Powers52 = 120

Complications:
Trouble-maker - Wally's reputation as a street rat from England has probably got around the school. His attitude as not-a-team player doesn't help things. Nor his 'tough guy' posturing.

Family - Wally's got a Step-Father in Dover, Mick Iverson, and though he hasn't come looking since Wally ran away it doesn't mean he can't cause trouble. When his mother, Patricia, got pregnant with the second child Wally's biological father, Thomas Rincon, wanted nothing more to do with them. Patricia met Mick and he was a stand up guy at first, she took his name and he adopted the kids. The economy turned rough and so did he. He became a violent drunk with Patricia taking the brunt of his attention.
Patricia died of cancer, Mick just kept getting more and more dickish.
Wally has a sister, Beatrice Iverson (goes by Bea or Tricia, or even Trixie). Wally hasn't seen her in 4 years. He looked for her when he first ran away but no luck. He doesn't know if she's manifested any abilities or what has befallen her.

Some lines you just don't cross - Wally is an equal opportunity douchebag, he'll be surly and downright verbally abusive at anyone. He has no problems enacting or participating in violence either. But he will not engage in non-consensual touch with a member of the female sex especially in an 'inappropriate' way. He cannot abide that in others either. He's got a sister after all. Somewhere.

Vices - Wally smokes ("All me mates do an cigs (we aint s'posed to call em 'fags' anymore) were easy ta get'). He's also the kind to drink if he can get away with it ''Too right! I'll bowl meself legless given half a chance.'. He'll try to refrain as he doesn't really want to get kicked out of school. And as stores won't sell cigarettes to minors in America his options are limited.

Alright everyone, the IC is up.

Like I says there, go ahead and get yourselves situated. There are only a few canon X-Men canon characters I have set aside for particular use.

In the school;
Charles Xavier: Headmaster, Advanced studies (Genetics, Biophysics, Psychology, Anthropology, and Psychiatry as viable subjects. He may also teach Literature and Philosophy)
Ororo Munroe: Assistant Headmistress, Meteorology studies
Piotr "Peter" Nikolaievitch Rasputin: Physical edication

Beast, Wolverine and Magnito are off-table for use.

And in addition, Sharq's father, Oscar Moya, is part of the school faculty teaching Home Economics. He's a bit more piranha-like to Ana's shark-ness, and has to wear an apparatus on his neck to breath, but despite his appearance with pretty vicious-looking teeth, he's a warm-hearted and kind teacher (Maybe because he really understands the worse of hardships mutants can go through with a mutation like his? Just a hunch ;) )

So that aside, if you would like a specific Xmen canon character to be a teacher for something not listed that would be appropriate for the Xavier school, feel free to ask, even if it isn't a traditionally "good guy" character.

You guys can decide if you have some classes together, friendships outside of class and all that jazz.

Just an aside, you listed my character's original name in your list in the first post.

I think we are just waiting on Bladewind to set Ice up before the explosions start.

Ohhh, explosions! I love explosions.
Am I dead? Am I alive? The answer may surprise you!
