Dirk

As the twilek bumped into him, he sighed. Drunk people he thought.

"Do you mind?" He remonstrated with her and began to turn his attention to the Imperials when Teezee beeped furiously at him.

"What do you mean look at her? Don't you think we have more important things to worry about?" He told the droid off. Teezee responded by angrily banging into his leg almost knocking him over.

"Alright, keep your motivators on," He said rubbing his leg and turning to look, "wait a moment, is that who I think it is?"

Teezee beeped incredulously

"of course it is."

"Well, that's just asking for trouble. Probably best to ignore that she was here. I'm not handing her over to the Hutt even if we do need the money. " Dirk decided the safest thing was to stay away.

Kaz Trisst

An entire team of wild rancors couldn't have stopped Kaz from pursuing her daughter. She cursed loudly at a landspeeder that almost clipped her as she stepped into the intersection, all the while calling to Zara to stop. She knew it was a pointless endeavour, but she did it anyways; when the girl went off into one of her trances, nothing drew her attention. The only chance Kaz had was to rely on her reflexes and reach her child before the worst happened.

Luckily, enough vehicles had thrown on their breaks or swerved to avoid Zara that the flow of traffic had been interrupted. It took some weaving and dodging, and it felt like a small eternity before she actually reached the girl, but in a few scant moments she had scooped the child into her arms and into a protective cradle. The angry shouts and blaring horns from all around her fell on deaf ears. Kaz was so awash with relief that all she could do was clutch Zara to her as she mumbled her gratitude to no one in particular.

She'd never put much stock in the concepts of 'destiny' or 'fate'. She'd always prefered to believe that a person could forge whatever path they wanted as long as they were willing to work for it and make the necessary sacrifices. Then came moments like this, that forced her to question that belief. As she turned to walk back towards the cantina, still tightly holding Zara, she saw him there. A crowd had gathered around him to gawk at the spectacle, but her eyes had no trouble picking him out of the sea of faces. She froze there in the street, staring, mouth slightly agape.

Ana Tathis

As Ana followed little Zara caught up nearly as much in the chase as the child was, something snapped her back to what was going on behind her. She heard Zaras name called out as Kaz; zaras mother made an appearance. Deciding it was best to remain anonymous for the moment Ana lept up onto the low roof of the nearest building which afforded her a view of the busy street below.

A street which the beautiful twilek was about to rush headlong into heedless of the dangers to herself. Ana gritted her teeth and concentrated on the force letting it flow through her. She gestured and a land speeder that would have struck Kaz head on had its wheel jerked to the side. Another gesture caused a dewback to rear up on its hind legs with a honk of protest. A last gesture gave Kaz a little push of momentum in the right direction which allowed her to leap nimbly onto the sidewalk and out of danger.

Ana let loose a breath and wiped the sweat off her brow. She hadn't pushed that much in a while, clearly she still had a lot to learn.

She watched as Kaz caught up to her wayward charge and smiled at the reunion. Never get between a mother Gronkstr and her cubs her mother would always say. She noticed though that Kaz's eyes lit up in recognition as she saw the spacer that Ana had passed approaching the Cantina as she left it. The astromech droid trundling along at his side had beeped and whirred at her but she had been too caught up in the chase for Zara to pay it any mind.

She shook her head best not to dwell on such things at the moment. Zara was safe and in her mothers arms, Now to discover the mysterious voice and meet Zaras 'imaginary friend' for herself.

She sat down in a meditative pose and closed her eyes, breathing deeply and letting the force guide her as she sought out the source of the voice speaking to the child. As she did the sounds of the street and the crowd gathering around the mother and child floated away.

just adjusting slightly since Kaz would have to basically run Ana over to get to zara and keeping Ana anonymous for the moment

Dirk Thrumbar

Just as Dirk was about to tell TeeZee to move on, he could tell she had spotted him in the crowd, by the way she stopped and stared at him. He sighed, best laid plans of men and mynocks and all that, and he guessed he wasn’t going to be able to avoid her after all.

He gave her a little wave, while TeeZee beeped repeatedly by his side. “Stop that,” he whispered to the droid through the corner of his mouth.

While Zara dazedly walked through busy rush-hour (a relative term on Veridia) traffic without a scratch, it only seemed right that Ana danced her way through the same traffic, gliding on and off of weaving vehicles as if everyone had been rehearsing this routine for weeks.

Whatever was guiding Zara seemed to have some moral concerns as it was expressing the Force to also protect the passengers and bystanders in the traffic storm by wrecking inanimate vehicles and nearby objects (although even the ruined droids recoverable memory seemed avoided and thus intact). Moral but imperfect, this manipulation could not remain harmless forever.

But it seemed that this cacophony was about to come to an end. Zara had approached one of the park squares that showed off the flora of Veridia. As everywhere but Veridida City had plenty of 'flora' (farm crops), it might have seemed odd that Veridia had parks featuring what was just outside the city. But the Veridians wanted at one least city on their planet to be like cities on other planets. And cities had parks or they weren't cities, according to the good people of Veridia.

Zara calmly sat down on a bench, unruffled by the scores of beings running towards her. As Ana somersaulted of her last vanspeeder onto the ground and approached Zara, a presence ran through her miind. It communicated directly through thought and feeling in a way that was difficult to describe to describe to those not as connected to the Force. But if it had to expressed in word, the message might have said something like...

I MUST CONSERVE MY ENERGY OPPOSING THE ADVERSARY. PROTECT THE CHILD!

There was one last ripple from the Force as the presence became too 'distant' to perceive. Zara idly waved her hand. "Go away." she said. The angry and concerned crowd suddenly found other things to do and very good and rational reasons why to do them. Ana either transcended such manipulation or had been specifically excluded by the fading other.

"Hi, Ana," Zara said as if this had been any other day, "here is where we wait."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Raaka the Twi'lek was no fool. You just had to ask him. And he might even tell you, except genius never had to explain itself (he has always assumed). He beheld the human woman in front of him who had such a confident air, obviously advanced technology and commanding knowledge of Imperial Law.

At the woman's imperious questioning, inspiration struck. If Raaka simply acted with such confidence no one would question his actions. It was amazing how well bluffing might work on lesser minds.

"Well, of course, we are familiar with Decree 78..4..um.." After a few seconds of sudden coughing, "these are just ...special... circumstances..." Raaka stared at Kaiya's impassive and flawless sabaac face, trying to find clues and context. His lekku were about to break with the strain. "...Great Lady." He had guessed Kaiya was an Imperial of great standing to be so confident. And Raaka was never fooled.

"I am Raaka, how may we be of service to the Empire?" Raaka's other two companions hooted and grunted at this sudden and unexpected conciliation. But Raaka hissed for them to be quiet. When they first met, Raaka had told the other two that he would do the thinking and they would do the fighting. The arrangement had seemed to work out so well so far. So the other two simply followed Raaka's lead, looking at Kaiya for orders and guidance.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Liira smiled at her friend Mr. Artaryoo (she never quite got the name right but was always at least earnest). "Look over there. His caravan's coming down the road." She pointed to the trail to Veridia City. There were actual trails on Veridia, some vehicles still touched the ground on backwater Veridia. Most of the spontaneous caravan were the usual denizens, beasts of burden and aged vehicles one could see on a typical Veridian day but just not usually all at once.

But what led the caravan was something truly unique and gaudy (both traits rare on Veridia). A floating wagon led by two strange beasts of burden. The decoration and ornamentation on the wagon assaulted the eyes. On the sides of the wagon were proud letters exclaiming Bah-Gon Starstrider; Jedi Knight.

"Let's go see him!" Liira said. And without really waiting for a reply, Liira ran toward the colorful conveyance, intent on meeting her first Jedi Knight.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TeeZee was almost offended at the Dirk's insinuation that he was an old model. He staticed back that his memory had been working flawlessly since, since, since.... But Crazo was harumphing that negotiations should be wrapped up. The sudden Imperial presence hadn't improved any moods. But it hurried the process. Crazo agreed too quickly.

After the call, Dirk found his eyes on a tiny Twi'lek girl on a bench, a tiny oasis from the dust cloud of several near accidents behind her. A young woman was approaching the girl with something like protectiveness and perseverance. But there was something about the little girl, a feeling of recognition Dirk couldn't quite place.

"I'm fine. You need to join me." The girl said so certainly that it seemed almost prediction rather than just invitation.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To the others who had watched the little girl cross the road, she should have died many times over. To Kaz, Zara did die or maybe she did with every near miss and scrape. Maree followed behind Kaz, her more luxuriant physique could not keep up with Kaz's dancer's tone or her mother's intensity.

She couldn't dodge traffic as well as Ana but she was acrobatic enough to follow closely behind. As she approached her daughter, Zara turned and said, "Hi, Mommy." like it was the end of a funny game.

Kaz rebounded off of some slow fool and a slower astromech. On some level, his features passed through her brain and the extra cortical tissue her lekku allowed. But the recognition was delayed as all the young mother focused on her child and her child alone.

...since, since, since. Well, perhaps it wasn't so important how long TeeZee had been operational. The droid was about to make an impassioned speech about memory and what was truly important to recall. It was then TeeZee recognized that particularly bluish humanoid. She had been very important to Dirk for a short time. He beeped and tweeted, she had been kind to him.

Dirk explained his resolution to TeeZee. Whatever the memories, they would only bring each other trouble now...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For once, the Force was trumped by a mother's love. Kaz raced by Ana to hug her child. Zara hugged her mother back fiercely but with slight concern. Her mom certainly seemed worried about something.

A swell of music arose as mother and child embraced like the most manipulative of holovids. The source was the sentimental TeeZee, pounding out the notes as best his binary-rated speakers would allow. The two humanoids had always been compatible, even the most logical droid could see it. And he would play matchmaker if needed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before Ah'treyuu could react to the caravan and Liira's sudden flocking to it, there was a boom and a wave of accompanying dust and wind passing across everyone he could see.

The reason was obvious, an Imperial shuttle was heading pell-mell at an inadvisable lower elevation towards Imperial City. This was very unwise, especially for a diplomatic shuttle.

Whatever that shuttle was headed, there would be trouble at its destination...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As the former lovers locked eyes near their child, the moment was broken by the rush of air and sound as an Imperial shuttle circled the street and square. The shuttle was sweeping around like a carrion bird seeking its prey.

Kaz caught it first, the shuttle was almost orbiting her daughter like a scented hound.

The running people and the wrecked vehicles were preventing the shuttle from quickly locating a safe landing place but a few minutes more and few meters out and the shuttle could land in several places.

While the shuttle couldn't land, its ramp was opened enough to see two figures. Each held on to the shuttles frame for balance. One was a stormtrooper in some unfamiliar armor, a strange carnivorous quadraped at the trooper's side. The trooper pointed to Zara with utter certainty. The other figure, the Grand Moff Falgrimm himself, spoke into a panel on the wall.

The shuttle loudspeakers carried his words; "Halt, Child! By Order of the Empire!"

OOC:
Whew! I'm sorry it took so long to get this out. But things are going to move faster as four characters are technically now together (Ana, Dirk, Kaz & Zara).

There is enough sound and fury that the nearby Kaiya can realize what it happening. Raaka and his friends are completely snowed by the sheer gravitas that Kaiya projects. They will believe that she is a highly-placed Imperial official until something convinces them otherwise.

The Empire has just figured out something funky is up and is late to gathering Imperial forces so your characters have a few moments to gather together and plan.

I haven't forgotten Ah'treyuu but it may be a few posts before he joins the others.

Questions, just ask... :D

Ana Tathis

Once Ana was satisfied that Kaz was safe across the street she set off behind her in search of Zara who had slipped away to a nearby park. If Ana was surprised when Zara said hi to her she didn't show it, nor did she show any surprise to zaras instinctive use of the force to send the crowd away.

Before Ana could say anything to Zara in response though; kaz rushed past her to grip her child and Ana slipped quietly away becoming just another face in the crowd for a moment.

As she watched the reunion though she began to search and got more then she bargained for when whatever was guiding Zara spoke almost directly to her through the force. She puzzled over the meaning for only a moment when danger reared its head in the form of the Empire.

And they were after Zara.

This she could not allow. There was a time for contemplation and a time for action and this was clearly a time for the latter.

Ana stepped between Kaz and Zara and said to them in a voice that carried no small authority "Run, Now!"

Ana didnt wait to see if they responded, instead she gestured and a blaster carried by a nearby spacer leapt into her hand and she rapidly pulled the trigger unleashing a volley of blaster fire that heated the air near her. The blaster bolts weren't fired for accuracy but effect aimed at making the two on the ramp take cover and forcing the shuttle pilot to get them to safety.

As they scrambled Ana tossed the smoking blaster back at its former owner and ran past him with a burst of speed that had her pursuing Kaz and Zaras course.

Ah'treyuu

***BOOOM*** Without thought, Ah'treyuu's muscles seized into a flex, bringing his massive body down to a position of a wild nexu ready to pounce its prey. The sound would have caused most species to cover their ears, or raise whatever type of limbs they had to protect themselves. But such startling sounds didn't lead an Anzati to cring but to kill.

His brain finally caught up with his instincts. He took several big, deep breathes, and conscientiously relaxed his muscles. Squinting his eyes he saw what type of ship it was. Sure, everyone saw it was a diplomatic shuttle, but he knew this type too well... this was Imperial! There wasn't another audible boom from the shuttle, but the mere recognition of the Imperial symbol on the ship may as well of been a Thermal Detonator that just went off meters away from him. Instincts set him back to full kill-mode!

Still in crouching position, he gripped his custom Electrostaff (OOC: looked like a walking staff since all but several inches of the ends were encased in Kashyyyk-wood, and of course it could only be set to stun.) and darted off like a sprinter towards the ship. He felt willing and ready to do whatever it would take to rid this wonderful planet from them.

As he continued to eye it he thought it strange how it moved so carelessly, not very Empire-like. Was it a high-jacked ship from that Star Destroyer? Was the Empire send out new recruits to these quieter planets so they can get some real-life training in? He almost laughed, as he enjoyed the thought that Empire-machine wasn't as well oiled as he was led to believe. As this started to calm himself more he realized little Liira was heading for that strange caravan. The caravan was heading the same way the shuttle was, and it didn't look like the little girl cared about the danger the ship could bring. He regained his composure, started jogging to meet up with the energetic little one, looked back and yelled at her parents, "Ma Me-uh, I, I, I gots her."

This was just politeness. He knew all the farmers watched out for and trusted each other. They had each let Ah'treyuu work for them and stay with them for weeks to months. This again was why he loved this planet, this was why he couldn't let the Empire defile it. For a second he thought to tell them all to turn around and go back to their farms, but nothing ever happened in this town, and if something was going to happen they weren't going to miss all the action anyhow.

He changed directions slightly, drastically slowed his sprint to a slow jog and came along side the sprinting Liira. "Yeah! Your coming to see him too!" Liira said. Ah'treyuu squinted and quietly read what was on the side of caravan out loud, "Bah-Gon-ah Starstrider-ah; Jedi Knight... hmm.. pah perhaps-sah one who uh who did not-tah learn da Jedi lessons-sah on humility?"

Not wanting to crush the wonder and awe the child had he thought to himself, "What Jedi Knight would boast in such a way... Starstrider? Sounds like one of those cheesy Holo-Soap stars... what else could it be? THE JEDI ARE NO MORE! Surely this group is an acting troupe or something."

As they got closer to the caravan, which was getting closer to the city, he looked back down at Liira and could tell her little legs were just going to keep slowing them down. He said to her, "An an and-dah ya you sure you-ah know dis Starstrider-ah?" Her sudden pick up in pace told him the answer was a resounding, "YES!" But instead of saying that she turned and looked upwards to him with those big eyes now packed with wonder, "Wampa-back?", and she held up her arms. In a single, swift pull, he yanked her up on his back and began to pick up his pace.

"You you-ah know nobody-dah rides on dem wampas, right-tah?" She pointed towards they caravan, buck her heels into his strong abs and yelled, "Hi-ho Wampa!" He darted off again into a full sprint as they both let out hardy laughs.

“What are you doing?” he cried indignantly as his blaster flew out of his holster into Ana’s hand as the Imperials arrived. Dirk took a look at them and at the group gathered before him, before deciding on a course of action. Ana opened fire and then tossed the blaster back to him, which he caught deftly.

“Move Teezee,” he shouted at the droid as the crowd dispersed, rushing into a side alley near the cantina. Teezee followed, beeping at him angrily, clearly unhappy with Dirk running away.

“Stop that Teezee,” he replied annoyed, “I’m not abandoning them. I’m getting transport. That slob Braqu always leaves the keys for his repulsor sled so he doesn’t lose them if he’s been drinking heavily.” He rummaged around near a parked beaten up sled, trying not to get covered in rubbish.

“Gotcha,” he cried, brandishing the keys, before diving into the sled. “Get onboard, we are going for a ride.”

Kaz Trisst

Over the nearing five years that she'd been on the run, Kazmine had compiled a loose mental list of her greatest fears. She'd often found herself laying awake at night playing these scenarios over and over in her head, thinking of all the ways she could deal with them. Now, as the Imperials swarmed off their ship and called for Zara's surrender, she was watching one of them unfold right before her eyes. It was surreal in a way.

Kaz's brain was furiously processing her next move when the stanger interposed. She didn't need to be told twice, calling out a "Thank you!" as she turned and ran. Her eyes caught Maree's in the crowd for a split second as she dashed towards an alley that ran alongside the cantina. Although she was too overwhelmed with panic to communicate anything in that moment, she felt a pang of guilt. It's not your fault.

"S'okaybaby, s'okay..." she comforted Zara, one hand cradling the back of her head and the other supporting her bottom. Where to go? Where?

Kaiya

Kaiya brushes her fingers over the ornate box.

A smile rises to her lips, a soft sound escapes, but then she pauses..yes, well, those sounds outside of an Imperial shuttle being so close and eager for a target wasn't terribly encouraging. Rather rude as well. How many lives were they interrupting in their search? Hers to begin with.

"I can tell that you are a man of distinguishing tastes Mr Raaka. As you may have guessed, and a rare guess at that, I am here for business. In fact, you may be just the sort of man that I have been looking for. While there are certainly markets for the local grains, I was looking for something more exotic. Are you familiar with such things?"

She begins to rise, a smile towards the owner of this 'fine' establishment. While she was tempted to recreate the ancient story of a man leaving change for a drink and due to uncertain currency conversion rates placing enough to purchase the entire bar... this was not the time for such things. A gracious tip but one that is not horribly memorable. Forgettable in any direction she could err in.

She starts to walk towards the danger outside, a slight hesitation in her steps, allowing her brave companion to change the direction, to somewhere quieter, more refined.

"Tell me, other than yourself, who is worthy of my attentions?"

Ana reacted instantly. No, faster than instantly. It was said that the Jedi lived a second ahead of every one else. The blaster flew into her palm like a familiar limb. She fired precisely at the shuttle, more accurately, at the two at the head of the shuttle's open ramp.

Grand Moff Falgrimm didn't get that title by being slow to act. The slight delay in 'acquiring' the blaster had forced some haste from Ana, making her effectively mortal in her aim. The Moff leapt backwards into the shuttle as the glowing bolt left a scorch in the deck metal where he had just been. Rather than praise his luck, Falgrimm knew the Jedi witch was merely keeping him hidden in the shuttle, useless as the dead.

Ana's other bolt had hit the strangely-armored trooper square on. The vornskyr (yes, Jedi knew them by sight) also retreated back into the shuttle, its work done. And the Emperor math demanded that a cloned trooper was expendable in protecting such a rare specimen. The armor seemed to save the trooper's life but spoiled his aim. A shrieking distortion of air whooshed by Ana, causing the nearby cobblestones to crack in a spiral pattern about a foot wide and a foot from Ana.

The exotic weapon was not that unfamiliar to such travelled souls. It was a sonic rifle, less damaging and more problematic than a blaster rifle of the same size. But it was a diffuse weapon, impossible to be deflected by a lightsaber. This trooper had been equipped and trained to fight the Jedi.

__________________________________________

Liira had wanted to see the great Jedi Knight but her wonderful friend had other ideas. The contest was fantasy versus friendship and friendship won out. It would be more fun to remain with her friend, Mr. Attreyoo. But as they began to leave, a head poked itself out of the caravan and stared at the faraway shuttle. The face was exactly as Liira had seen in the old holovids of the Jedi; aged but wise, stern but caring. She had been told by her parents that watching the holovids was not a good idea. The Empire had claimed that the Jedi were just tricksters, full of mumbo-jumbo and nonsense. But Liira had believed.

"Master Starstrider!" She cried out. "The Empire is finally here and now you will show them who will be victorious!" At her words, the old man's visage slipped, moving from seeming sagacious serenity to naked fear. But the old wizard quickly regained his composure. "Ah, it is as I have forseen."

For most citizens, the Force was at a comfortable balance between legend and possibility. They could believe or not, place by place, moment by moment. But Dirk had seen his blaster and be returned to him. He had also anticipated his loyal droid's protests.

But there had been an advantage to his retreat. Whatever relationship existed between himself, Kaz and Zara was not obvious to the Empire, however real it had suddenly became to Dirk. One thing was likely, dusty Veridia was no longer safe to be on.

As second nature, Dirk had kept a watch on ships incoming and outgoing. It might have been as close as I might have come to ever having a ship of his own again. But now such attention was a survival skill. And it was the YT-1300 landing nearby that he noticed above all others. The battered ship looked like it had richoted off every asteroid between here and the Core but it was landing with a starfighter's grace and precision. This was something no YT-1300 could do, at least no stock YT-1300. And it had not deviated one degree from its landing approach this close to an angry Imperial shuttle, showing either arrogance or foreknowledge.

Reluctantly agreeing with Dirk but still giving him literal static about it anyway, TeeZee showed the best route to the YT-1300's landing pad in holographic blue lines.

Some jealous rivals had often implied that Kaz thought the Galaxy revolved around her. But it really revolved around Zara. Now holding her child close while all of this chaos spun around them, she knew it was true enough. A haggard voice came over the loudspeaker, like it had just dodged a blaster bolt "Citizens, restrain that child!" There was some hesitation as the bewildered denizens of Veridia suddenly had more excitement in their lives than they have ever dreamt of. "There is a reward!"

With those words, it seemed some folk on Veridia had made up their minds. They began to chase Kaz and Zara. But Zara was unconcerned, she shouted out so that both Kaz and Ana could hear. "I know where we can hide."
_____________________________________________

Raaka was about to answer Kaiya with the deference she seemed to inspire but there were words belted across the square and those words ended in "something, something Reward!" The Rodian and Gamorrean were out of the door like a shot. Raaka at least gave Kaiya an apologetic look. "Forgive me, great lady, but they have bigger guns than brains."

The Twi'lek wasn't sure if Kaiya was going to follow. "If we get separated, our ship, The Blue Harvest in nearby." And then he also left the cantina.

_____________________________________________

Aboard the shuttle, Falgrimm received a reply from the cockpit to a question he had asked, via comms, his Star Destroyer. "There is no record of a Jedi Knight named Starsrider, Sir." The Forcetrooper stated, "The vornskyr did not detect the Force when we flew over the caravan."
"Meaning?" Falgrimm asked.
"There is no Jedi there or there is a very good one."
Falgrimm considered. What was the point of endless stormtroopers if you didn't spend them?
"Send another shuttle and walkers to this 'Starstrider'."
_______________________________________________

OOC: Again, my apologies for taking so long.

Ana is near enough to Kaz and Zara to join them easily. Zara will convey that they can hide in the same secret passage from the nightclub to a nearby alley that Zara used originally to get to the square. If it is desired, the three can easily enter the alley, open and close the secret door and hide from pursuers with no trouble. The prosaic Veridians will not have the imagination to find the three and Imperial ground forces are too far away. The three can have about five uninterrupted minutes to plan and think...

The YT-1300 that Dirk has observed may be your Crying Dawn (if that suits, Corrigon). It is certainly no ordinary ship landing.

Atreyu is no fool. He can probably assume immediate Imperial interest in anyone claiming to be a Jedi Knight and thus Imperial attention very soon very close.

You can assume that Kaz, Zara and Ana will pass by the cantina Kaiya is in (if that suits). The three cloddish bounty hunters won't quite get their bearings for a few minutes even if the trio run right past them. Kaiya will probably figure the situation out immediately. Otherwise, the Blue Harvest could be the buffed YT-1300 landing now.

Ask me questions, folks. I know I have forgotten something. As the PCs are coming together, the action should be more smooth.

Ana Tathis

Ana was already moving out of the park even as the announcement of a reward for the Zaras capture was announced and sent the crowd out in a rush to find her to collect. She frowned as A blast of a sonic rifle cracked the ground at her feet causing her to tap dance away, and revealing that the trooper was still up and going. A Jedi Hunter and not the first she'd encountered either, dangerous and well equipped for their particular prey.

And the Vornskyr... that was going to be an issue to, no wonder the Empires hounds had been so precise. She shook her head and side stepped again as a second blast blew leaves off an overhead branch and slid right as a third blast destroyed some poor souls cabbage cart. She then slipped into the crowd borrowing a hanging cloak which was a nice shade of blue similar to her jumpsuit.

Pulling the Cloaks hood over her head she slipped into the crowd becoming one with the sea of bobbing heads before she side stepped into an alley. She paused a moment listening to something bigger then her and the crowd before setting off down the alleyway towards the cantina. As she did she caught what she was looking for or namely who Kaz and Zara running for any form of cover they could find.

Then Zara surprised her again by waving to her and saying she knew where they could hide. Ana shrugged, any port in a storm right? She caught up and slipped easily by Kaz's side as Zara guided then to the small tunnel that shed used to get out to the park in the first place. After making sure the pair were safely ensconced within Ana closed the door to their erstwhile hideout sealing it behind them.

She took note though of two things, one was the spacer whos blaster she had so unceremoniously borrowed, engaging in a bit of unceremonious borrowing of his own as he commandeered a local speeder. The look on his face as he and kaz had seen each other gave her pause and she made a note to look further into it later, also she saw the Freighter make its landing, it looked like junk but she above all had learned the lesson about judging Radgars from their ear fur.

Two possible avenues of escape she mused to herself watching as Dirk sped off in the direction of the Freighter. Same idea perhaps? maybe; they would have to see.

Ana took a moment to catch her breath and sat in a meditative pose with her eyes closed just letting the force speak to her for the moment. She could feel Kaz and Zaras eyes on her.

"Some day huh?" she asked Kaz sardonically while her eyes were still shut.

Kaz Trisst

The moments between entering the alleyway and their entering through the dusty old passage and into (relative) safety were a complete blur. There was so much adrenaline running through Kaz's system that she probably could have burst through the wall if she'd had to. She looked to Zara, kissed the girl's forehead. Her child's expression was calm, and she was looking at the stanger in the corner. Kaz was surprised to find that it was the same young human woman who'd helped them in the street. Her heartrate was just starting to slow from hyperdive to sublight as the stranger spoke.

Despite the frenzy they'd just been through, she oozed the same easy calm that typified Zara. Kaz found herself a little envious; her passions tended to get away from her.

"You saved our lives," she responded. The paranoid part of her brain, which had only continued to grow during her years of flight, was telling her there was an ulterior motive; no one risked their own life without expecting to gain from it. But, somehow, in her heart she knew. This woman is different.

"Thank you. Thank you, truly. I'm Kaz. This is Zara."

"We met," the girl interjected. "She's Ana."

"Then thank you, Ana."

It struck Kaz then that she recognized these cramped surroundings... somehow they'd ended up back inside the Cantina! That explained how Zara had gotten out in the first place. It was a relief insomuch as her daughter hadn't learned to walk through walls which, at this point, she wasn't sure was outside the realm of possibility. The Imperials were still right outside. What now?

"I hate to ask more of you, but we're between a rancor and a sarlacc pit here. We're inside the Cantina I work... worked at. If you go out onto the floor, you'll find an Ithorian sitting at a table near the stage. Tell him Lux needs him out back. He'll... he'll help us."

I think.

Dirk looked up at the incoming ship and had an idea. They had gotten this far, but he was the one who could procure them an escape route.
“Last chance to leave Teezee.” He offered the droid, who beeped indignantly at the idea.

“That’s what I thought,” he smiled, glad the droid was sticking with him despite the danger. He was fond of Teezee despite their constant arguing, “now let’s see if we can get there and back before they get captured.” He gunned the skiff’s engine and shot off towards the spaceport, intent on finding a proper escape ship.

Ooc
Preferably, he’ll steal the Rodians’ ship or at least anybody who tries to shoot him whilst he’s at the spaceport. Basically, as long as they deserve, he’ll take their ship probably after they tried to kill him
If Arteju maybe ends up helping Dirk at the spaceport to bring him into the crew

Ana smiled warmly while chuckling dryly "Not sure I didn't just complicate your lives."

"Also fairly certain Lux is going to have enough issues losing his best dancer, and being down a short order cook." she added in as an after thought causing Kaz to recognize her as the new hire cook that had been there for the last month. Always quiet and unassuming just in the background.

Ana paused a moment feeling events in motion through the force. "I'll talk to him see if he'll help, but we may have to move soon."

She stood up and then moved quietly out onto the floor where she kept her head hidden approaching the Ithorian she whispered a few words to him. She had to make sure the two hiding would be safe.
