" I suggest that we act boldly and just strut in there", Lindsey comments calmly. " If you act like you belong somewhere, people tend to believe you. If you can pull it off, try for a bit of snobbishness, too, try and make it seem as if you just wait for some idiot to challenge you."
Hey, if it worked in a courtroom, it might just as well work here.

"And if all else fails, we can use that guy over there as a missile." she said cheerfully, pointing to the nimrod demanding the drink. She downed her own lemonade, shuddering a little at the brain-freeze. "Right then. It can't be worse than Toronto or Venus and compared to Belize, it should be rather pleasant. We aren't comparing it to Mexico. That was... Not good." she said dryly. She looked at Small Knife. "You want to come along? There's sure to be fighting and mayhem. We can't seem to escape it." she grinned, her love of a challenge shining through. "Leastaways I can't."

Alma put her paw over her snout. "No she can't. I swear, between her and Peekaboo, I have my paws full keeping us alive." she looked over at Ren who was practically vibrating at the thought of actually stomping on something, rather laughable, given his size. She considered. Size meant nothing. You couldn't judge one's power or strength by their size anyway. It was still funny to her predatory eyes though. "And Ren isn't much better I think."

"Hey, I try to live up to that."
Ren said cheerfully.

Alma banged her head against the table-leg. "Arceus spare me. My trainer has a death-wish and my team-mates are insane. I'm fracked by a Wailord."

Ren looked at her in confusion. "You aren't a Skitty."

Alma only growled in frustration and banged her head harder against the table leg.

The woman who called herself Small Knife looks at you, then the guy demanding she buy him a drink.

"Thing is." She says. "Things aren't what they appear. Fugly here thinks he's big potatoes and doesn't really care about you, so talking about heading downstairs doesn't faze him.

"Me on the other hand, I go where I please."

Her hand moves out with the practiced precision of a well trained hand-to-hand combatant, as well as the reflexes of someone accustomed to grabbing small and rapid items. She strikes him hard in the gut, her position and leverage shifting enough to give her momentum. But then, instead ofhitting him him, she pulls something from his belt. His skin begins to change shade, becoming green.

"Bitch." He says before heading to the doorway.

"Kinda figured. Guys like that remind me of school yard bullies. Loud, but easy to take down if you care to." Amy agreed. "So you've been down-stairs I take it. What should we expect?" she asked.

" Figures", Lindsey mutters, making sure to pocket one additional knife, " but I guess if we stir up trouble, we'll have everyone against us in there. Not just some South African arms dealer..."
He briefly wondered if Klaue had made it through. T'Challa had and it'd been quite a stir when he'd showed up for the premiere...

"Or try a different tact." she considered. "They'll be expecting us to start blowing shit up. Our job here is to discover where the crystals are coming from and how to get more. If the sith here are interested in it, maybe we can use that to our advantage." she grinned at them "That way we can get Kar-Anna back without turning the place into a crater. No matter how much they may deserve it."

"Look, I'll make this easy. I'm going to go buy him his drink and make him happy. If you want to talk to me further, I'll be at the bar."

Small Knife finishes her drink, and puts it down heavily – the first gesture you notice her making that is not precise or graceful. She gets up and follows the drunken patron, saying something that you catch but dismiss as simple small talk.

Looking back at her glass, you notice a note. Essentially she left a second napkin beneath her glass.

"Just go. Watch yourself, but as obvious XDs no one will question you walking in."

The note is signed "MN"

A little lost on this talk of sable jungle cats, Rand has to gawk at the idea of trusting a random person at the bar with knowledge of their secret mission but maybe there was more here than he was privy to. Still it irked him.

"Shall we just go?" he asks, surly as ever.
"Something pithy this way comes."

"Sure, let's." she said, pushing away from the table. "Alma, you're going to give yourself a concussion, stop that." she told her frustrated, head-banging-on-wooden-table leg Umbreon.

"That's my intention!" Alma retorted, but stopped and waited while her two-legged companions sorted themselves out.

Ren clambered up to her shoulder while Peekaboo and Alma took positions on either side.

Small Knife accompanies you after buying her erstwhile friend a drink.

Going through the illusory wall is no biggie, and the elevator down is relatively normal. No musak thank goodness. As you exit to the main casino and club area it quickly feels like exactly that. Smoke, alcohol, loud music and groups of people gambling, dancing and socializing. Rand feels the raw and almost palpable wave of dark side energy that most of these beings give off. Not evil as such, just a concentration of darker tendencies. He knows it well enough not to judge. Darker doesn't mean evil, corrupt or the like. Simply more likely to step on others to get what they want. Much more likely.

You've come here to find out what's going on, and the discovery and access to the El Rey really fits the parameters of your assignment. But there was something about those crystals. Rand would call them Kyber Crystals. And if there was a supply to attract Sith Lords or even Dark Side users, things could get really bad. Those crystals needed to either be outright destroyed, or brought under the control of a more benign group. Granting them to the Jedi Temple in Australia was probably just a slightly better idea than leaving them in the hands of whoever was running this show. If that theory panned out.

Little Knife stays with Rand, getting a few looks as she mingles. She points out the Orion Women mingling with the crowd, as well as the red-skinned Twi'Lek that you saw with Kar'Anna. Of the Dark Elf, there is no sign.

Rand passes a group trying to figure out some small device, and as the Mandalorian passes by them it powers up for a second, only to deactivate again a few footsteps later...

You both recognize any number of the guests that you saw enter, plus others. Almost all are from fictional sources of some kind, even if you don't recognize all of them.

For the most part, Amy mingles, keeping her pokemon close and trying to figure out what was going on.

There's a lot going on, of course, but as discovered by your sidekicks, the real exchange focuses on the Twi'Lek.

Orion Slave girls from Star Trek. The three green skinned women take to one of the stages and dance to the delight of the crowd. Amy recalls from a TV show that these women were anything but slaves. In fact, they were the ones in control of their syndicates. The question is, who reports to them?

"Guys, keep a close eye on the red Twi'Lek and the dancing girls. They're the ones in charge." she told her companions and Small Knife mentally.

"Ah yes." Little Knife says.

"Kestra, Lenasha, Merrara... the dancers that everyone thinks they can resist, thinks they can play, and thinks are just eye candy. And all of that with all evidence from the TV show to prove the contrary." She notes the mention of the red-skinned Twi'Lek.

"Darth Curus - your Twi'Lek. Yes. I said Darth. You'll also want to watch out for a guy who calls himself Athens. Fancies himself an important player. Not likely wrong. I don't know much about him, but he wears a fancy gold bracer that extends onto his hand and has bands around the fingers. Almost a golden glove. Even think I saw a repulsor in the palm. Think I heard someone call the guy Lord Athena at one point.

"And lastly, the one I really can't stand Raug. Guy's a beast.

"Huh. Wonder what happened to Curus. She's limping."
