IC-3 is lowered into the hole, there's a barely audible hum as it's anti-gravity plates kick in. It briefly turns on an external flashlight to get it's bearings then goes into sentry mode awaiting the others.

[What's the lighting situation in the vent?

As you deploy the droid and the Pokemon, a round of drinks is delivered to the table, courtesy of the lady at the bar.

IC-3 descends into the shaft, in the light that it shines, once again it is clear that whatever this place is, it isn't local. The Pokemon and Sherlock follow. Although there is no ladder as such, the joints of the shaft make climbing fairly easy.

They find several branches in the shafts, allowing them to go down or left/ right.

What is the plan here?

Lighting situation is mostly poor. As you approach rooms that have lights - maybe one every fifteen feet regardless of the direction you go - there will be light spilling into the shafts, if the light is on. Otherwise, fairly dark. Low light vision won't help too much in the darkness as there is little to see. Infravision fairs a little better - there is varying degree of heat emanating from the rooms. Enough that will allow you to keep a sense of direction other than simply up or down.

IC-3, at Rand's direction, let's the Pokemon take the lead. They almost all have full dark vision and it could use infravision to keep them in sight and follow along.

"Left, right or wrong?" he asked, sniffing the air and extending his ears to the fullest, looking for anything 'interesting'

Sherlock

The Sphinxian arboreal had no trouble climbing after the Pokémon and robot. He tried to look around and get his bearings.

OOC: Sherlock doesn't have any extraordinary senses (other than telepathy/empathy), but he does have Tracking and +11 perception. And wall-crawling movement as a power. Also +9 Stealth if we're trying to be sneaky. Canonically, 'cat vision extends at least enough into the infrared to see beams from some human devices, but I didn't put any points there ...

As the four critters and the droid make heir way through the ducts, its fairly clear that these ducts bring air to a vast underground complex. There is no way that this was here pre-Merge. After wandering for some time, you are able to determine the direction of the generators and main power source of the complex by the increased hum and strength of the airflow in certain areas.

Its hard to tell exactly how many levels you descend, but by means of the various creatures abilities and diminutive size, you find yourselves in a large circuitous duct that encircles a casino floor. Along one wall are a series of doors and the ducts reaching the areas behind them are actually protected by grates - the first sign of security that you have encountered in the labyrinthine corridors of the ventilation system.

There are dancers in the casino - three gorgeous green skinned women (gorgeous by anyone's standards, although they don't change appearance to anyone looking at them, you can't help but realize that they're attractive. Only the droid would be oblivious). There is a mix of races and species, most of the people that you observed entering the El Rey are present, and a large number more. Peekaboo recognizes the the alien that attracted his trainer's mind at one point, but loses sight of her.

There are a number of males of the same shade of green as the dancers, but none generate the sense of attractiveness that the females do. In fact, the males have adorned themselves with piercings and the like, hardening their appearance.

Kirinke - Peekaboo
Neo - Alma
Jewel - Ren
Flynn - droid
Drogothry - Sherlock.

IC-3 looks through vents that the group passes using facial recognition software trying to find their primary objective - Kar'Anna. It records other faces and monitors radio signals for anything 'interesting'. It will note anything of more advanced technology than this native Earth should have, trying to figure out functions.

IC-3`s processors go to work. It fails to recognize Kar'Anna anywhere in the casino. It cam identify the dancers as Orion from the Star Trek franchise, and the green-skinned males are also likely of the same species. Despite the rich surroundings, you could easily describe the place as a hive of scum and villainy rivaled only by a certain space station in a galaxy far, far away.

The Pokemon also notice Giovanni, and become some skittish.

A well dressed Twi'Lek woman with red head-tails enters the main area from one of the doors across the floor. Her clothing is of Earth origin and causes her to stand out, and she`s perhaps outshined only by the Orion dancers.

Of the casino games, there are a number of dabo tables (replete with dabo girls), sabacc, and other formerly fictional gambling games at play. Although the house always wins as the saying goes, there are a number of winners, big and small, to keep everyone interested.

Can I get Perception and/ or Insight checks, please. DC is variable - you'll get more the higher the roll.

IC-3 readily identifies and catalogs multiple individuals for later addition to the databases of known XDs* currently maintained by the OWIA.

A number of the people register as known, with one trio in particular flagging as "do not interfere with their operations." The man who is probably their leader wears an embroidered suit and gold plated shoes. His round sunglasses cover his eyes, but the distinctive features of his face are hard to miss. It was either Ron Perlman in cosplay or Hannibal Chau. With him is a man that IC-3 matches with the database as young Lance Hendrikson - probably a Bishop series android. Finally a woman in tactical equipment with the military markings of a sergeant. Her stance marked her as an able fighter. The databse identifies her as Cassandra Cage.

Cage is currently in what looks like a tense stand-off with Sektor, but the latter backs down when an oriental woman - one that Kar'Anna might have recognized - interjects. IC-3 cannot make out lips to guess at conversation.

IC-3 also notices another important details that the critters really have no way of identifying. Amidst all the gambling, there is another activity going on. Ostensibly covered by menus and the delivery of food and drink, there seem to be negotiations transpiring. It`s hard to tell regarding what, but the servers don`t take orders, instead the patrons fill out forms. Some of these forms are returned to the patrons, more notes are inscribed and the server takes it back. The process repeats a few times in some cases, not at all in others.

*IE - not relevant to the story as such, but good flavor.

Peekaboo

The pikachu sniffs the air and looks at the crowd in avid interest, ears twitching to pick up any errant sound that might be interesting. "I can't see hide nor hair of the Kar-Anna. Mebbe they have her stashed somewhere."

Sherlock.

Sherlock watches, listens, and tastes the mind-glows of the crowd as he tries to find Kar'Anna.

<<Maybe someone here knows something.>> He 'says'.

To Sherlock, the well dressed Twi-Lek "feels" like she has been in contact with Kar'Anna recently. (The one with two head-tails instead of hair).

Peekaboo gets the same sense. Even over everything else, the woman with the head-tails has a Kar'Anna smell to her.

Sherlock can sense more. There was an altercation, extremely physical. The female's apparel covers what looks like bruises. She also walks deliberately, like she is covering a limp. She joins the woman who was just talking with Sektor and Cage and they discuss. The oriental woman nods.

IC-3 will note that the pair are delivered a menu, an order sheet, but no writing apparatus.
