Nope.G-Virus. See Resident Evil 3, i think. The T-Virus creates zombies, the G-Virus causes a living organism to mutate uncontrollably.

Neo-Paladin wrote: Thu Oct 18, 2018 5:14 pm As for what is being bid on, here is a sample list:

A self-replicating nanoswarm that can augment a human subject with implants - apparently a controllable version of the Borg nanomachines.
A vial of the G-Virus.
A retrovirus capable of turning a human into a Deep One Hybrid.
Daemon-possessed power armor that permanently bonds with the unfortunate wearer.
A canister of a solution made by an organisation named " Cauldron" - which did not translate over - capable of reliably turning humans into Level 8-10 superhumans.
Samples of Lex Luthor's " Everyman Project", capable of granting up to level 11 powers.
Clones of the genetically modified spider that was responsible for the creation of Spider-Man in at least one universe.
Space Marine geneseed.
Blueprints detailing the creation of a being capable of moving beyond linear time.
Blueprints and process descriptions that can turn a human infant into a darkly enlightened human capable of rending and reorganizing matter by thought.
A coffin-like box capable of transforming a human into a Cenobite demon if charged with enough arcane energy.
Fleshwarping cauldrons.
Warpstone.
Hal [Long] couldn't believe the list of badness on sale here. He tried to think his way through the list, typing names into a specialized portable database he picked up on the plane to look up their genre counterparts. Assuming that the enemies they were looking for wanted a bunch of controllable soldiers and wanted them on an accelerated timeline (as evidenced by their willingness to kill those involved with the Spice trade as deaths would draw attention) they could probably discount a few of these items - the G-virus, demon-possessed armor, Hybrid virus, and human infant process wouldn't create controllable soldiers. Probably not the linear time being process either.
Assuming they want more than one soldier and don't have the time for recreating or studying what they by here on the *chance* it can be replicated that puts a few items on the 'less-likely' list - 'Everyman' samples, the Geneseed and Cauldron solution likewise would only produce one soldier, possible they could be interested in these but they'd want something more replicable and mass production-y. The Nanoswarm, the spiders (assuming they can bite multiple people), even the Cenobite demons assuming a control method was established.

Long shared his line of thinking over the comms to his team.
"... and, guys, what is the Warpstone or fleshwarping cauldrons?" he asks. "And do you agree in my assessments? Watch those three items in particular? Especially if there are aggressive bidders."
"Something pithy this way comes."

"Agreed. I'd look at the virus too. There is always the possibility someone could attempt to replicate it. Nasty results from that stuff."

Koral surpressed a shudder, having crossed paths however briefly with a woman who looked a lot like Milla Jojovich, he really didn`t want to live anything that she had talked about, Jedi powers or not.

Given the starting bids...your financial resources would be enough to purchase the warpstone, the geneseed, the spider clones and the G-virus vial.

Give me a perception check to see if you spy any patterns in regards to the bidders.

Morgan watches the proceedings, their group's "leader" would be the one to make their bids. He was watching for patterns and trying to keep track of who was bidding when he got distracted and lost count as it were. Standing among the bidders was a man wearing an embroidered suit and gold plated shoes. His round sunglasses covered his eyes, but the distinctive features of his face were hard to miss. It was either Ron Perlman in cosplay or Hannibal Chau. With him was a man he couldn`t readily identify as anyone but a young Lance Hendrikson. Finally a woman in tactical equipment with the military markings of a sergeant. Her stance marked her as an able fighter. An emblem on her arm had the initials OWIA embroidered on it. She seemed to notice him, winked before putting on her sunglasses and adjusting her jacket to cover the emblem.

Going back to trying to follow the auction again, he pondered on who the trio was working for, if anyone.

"Let's identify the group behind all this, then see what we can do to get some of these things off the market and out of circulation. Remember also we have covers to maintain so we shouldn't be too insistent on things that wouldn't make good soldiers like the warpstone or the G-virus. And remember those things might be IN the auction to ferret out good guys in hiding like us knowing we couldn't risk letting those out."

Hal says looking intently around.

HP reroll given how important this is.

Flynn has a point. HP reroll as well:

Perception: 1d20+5 13 - +10 for the reroll = 23

Both Morgan and Long notice that there is a certain bidding competition between two apparent humans in regards to the following things:

The nanobots
The geneseed
The Cauldron canister
The Everyman samples
and the spider clones.

The two are: One older gentleman, unassuming, with short grey hair and a very, very expensive suit and a tall, pale woman with lustrous black hair and an extravagant, yet very revealing gown showing off her perfectly proportioned figure and a lot of immaculate skin. The man looks ordinary enough but you are fairly certain the woman - if human - is not the product of naturally occurring evolution.

The trio Morgan noticed also appear to be interested in the geneseed, the cauldron canister and the spider clones.

"Okay," Hal says hastily into his comm, "we KNOW our opponent favors biomechanical soldiers and has a reasonably-competent programmer already. The nanobots would give him a ready-made army of completely loyal soldiers. At least with the others he'll have to rely on candidates and people are fallible and exploitable. 'm think he or she is really Jonsing for the nanobots and will try to deal with us if we buy them. I know we don't have a LOT of time and I hate to spring this like this, but check my logic and give opinions, please." He asks the other agents.

"So you're saying NO to the nanoswarms?" Hall asks in clarification hoping for more than her saying 'do something different' without explanation...
