But the question is: Is a firearm from 1870 considered modern or Renaissance by the table in the DMG?

So what damage would you say Jericho's weapons are? 1d10, 2d6, or 2d8 for the pistol? What for the rifle?

From the DMG, i got 2d8 for the Revolvers & 2d10 for the Repeating Rifle. With a 7 shot reload, the Rifle is DEFINITELY a Winchester Repeater. Given the increased damage, it's SPECIFICALLY any past 1870(they jumped the round type from .22 during the Civil War to .40 during that year at the request of Uncle Sam). Remington never changed their Revolver caliber untill 1980's i think(they also used .40, then swapped to.357 after Dirty Harry and Taxi Driver came out).

It's cool. I know it appears like a lot of damage(and normally it is) but that's against stuff without Resistance to Piercing, Regeneration, etc. While it's great against low-level adversaries(and Murder vs. Anyone without Regeneration or Higher AC), it suck's after a point.

Nope and that's the Rube. All DEX-based Weaponry doesn't get the modifier for damage. Only reason Legolas could do what he did with his Arrows(the "Stab & Fire" method of Archery) is cause he took Horde Breaker as well.

Since when do Dex based weapons not get a damage bonus?

I musta been thinking 3.5e again, as they didn't allow DEX modifier damage unless it was melee....

Hold up, I can throw two darts a round?!

Yup, one in each hand. Neat Trick: if you got enough Darts on you, you can do a Ranged Flurry of Blows, as Darts are counted as Monk weaponry(which'll let you use Flurry with the listed weaponry).
