Agent Owl
Hero Points: 0
Condition: 2 Bruise

Agent Owl winced under her mask as she heard Grif's clap; that and Nightstar's powers were the reason she told them to scatter, but in fairness, Grif was simply quicker to react than they were. At least Starfish has temporarily removed Nightstar from the fight.

This still wasn't an ideal situation. The Hand's powers were still largely unknown, the extent of Nightstar and Grif's brainwashing is uncertain, the talkative mercenary's trustworthiness is still very suspect, and of course the looming threat of the great time-stopping device behind them. Agent Owl pulled out the one device she had gotten from storage, the one she had been saving for the most dire of emergencies. Was this it? There was no guarantee it would work after all. But... if it does work it could help tip the balance; it's not like Conflux's fate changes if they fail with or without this fail-safe.

Agent Owl pressed the button to call the Owl Drone.

OOC
-------------
Move Action: Pull out the "Owl Drone" device (or rather the remote that calls it). I'll remain in hiding, I don't know if you want another stealth roll from me or not.

Standard Action: Use the Summon effect to call the Owl Drone.

Result of Standard Action: Owl Drone will arrive at a time the GM determines as it has the "Own Power" flaw. Gm still should have the stat sheet for this device.

As Alecto chants the song of Tartarus, the Hand starts to shift from his sitting position. Suddenly he grabs his head and got his teeth.
Agent owl gets a confirmation beep from her device, but gets distracted, and the next thing she sees is Grit singing his hand in the concrete as if it was butter, and then flinging the thing at Alecto!

Myra concentrates on the barrier again to cover over the damage Nightstar did.
No rolls needed. Another application of the create power removes the -1 Toughness from the Water Wall.

As Starfish reinforces the dome above Nightstar, the alien's eye glow with purple power as she unleashes her energy bolt on the dome. The dome cracks and starts to break, but not completely. You can see Nightstar's calm face on the other side more clearly now.

Nightstar crits the dome, but the dome holds on.
Alecto and Agent Owl's turns.

Alecto
HP : 1
Condition : fatigued, bruised x1, Dazed until next turn.
Alecto has a 9 Dodge and Parry, so Grit's 19 is just enough to hit her.
Toughness check vs DC25 : _: 1D20 + 11 = [4]+11 = 15
- dazed for the turn, -1 to future checks.
Alecto had been so focused on her attack she didn't notice Grit's attack in time to evade properly, and gets clipped when a section of floor hits her.

She glared at Grit through her daze, but recalled her training - 'deal with the greatest threat first'.

With that, she fired off the Chant of Tartarus at the Hand again, hoping to finish him off before things went further south.
Perception Affliction 10 (Entranced/Stunned/Incapacitated; Will Resist and Recover; Cumulative +1, Sense Dependent (Hearing) -1).

Since she's in the air, she's setting Favored Environment to Defense until next turn : +2 to Dodge and Parry.

Agent Owl
Hero Points: 0
Condition: 2 Bruise

Agent Owl's interface in her mask confirmed that the Owl Drone was on its way. For now she needed to keep Grit off of the talkative one; at least while the Hand of Buddha was still active.

From her hiding place Agent Owl throws out a flurry of blunted Owl Talons at Grit! This may hurt if she can place the attack properly, but Grit's sturdy enough that lasting damage was not a concern. Agent Owl then darts from her hiding place closer to the sphere "Over here Grit!" she challenges her mind-controlled teammate.

OOC
-------------
Move Action: Run, use athletics to sprint for an extra boost to movement speed: 25. Okay why was my nat 20 on THIS roll!? Ugh...

Standard Action: Defensive attack 5 throw Owl Talons at Grit, 23!

Result of Standard Action: If attack check meets or beats his dodge, Grit must make a DC20 toughness save. If the attack check beats his dodge by 5 or more, he must make a DC22 toughness save. If the attack check beats his dodge by 10 or more, he must make a DC25 attack check. Agent Owl is at an additional +5 to dodge & parry for this round.

As Alectos spell fell on him again, The Hand opened his closed eyes suddenly, sending a shortwave of air around himself, dust and small rocks flying away, and the the clothes of everyone fluttering with the wind. "Your sinful melody has no effect on a holy man! I will show you the true treasures of heaven! Bear witness of its grandeur and let your mind slip away." the monk challenges, as he presses both hands together. Behind him, and only to Alecto's eyes, the reality ripped open and images of a wonderful paradise can be seen. The visage is so beautiful you feel disarmed and unwilling to continue fighting!
Meanwhile, Agent Owl's talons bounce off from Grit's face as if it was steel. In reply he changes target and charges his former companion, lounging forward to Agent Owl. However he doesn't find purchase between the smoke and Agent OWl's bolstered defences. Amidst the smoke, Agent Owl's mask beeps, indicating the drone is closing in.

The Hand Will save 25
Grit toughness 27 he misses his grab attempt.
The Hand uses Visage from the Treasure of Hevens on Alecto, she needs to make a will save dc 22. Failure means daze and hindered, stunned and defenceless, and unaware and paralyzed depending on the degree.

Starfish Concentrates on her dome again. She's able to fill in the holes but the dome was overall weakened by Nightstar's attack. This was a losing proposition, but one that had benefit, at least for now.
[Use Create to take care of Broken condition, but Dome is still -1 Toughness.]

Alecto
HP : 1, now 0.
Condition : fatigued, bruised (-1 to Tou checks)
Feeble attempt to resist the Visage _: 1D20+11 = [4]+11 = 15
- missed by 7 ! 2nd Degree. Stunned and defenseless. With a powerhouse on the loose ....
Spending HP to reroll _: 1D20+11 = [15]+11 = 26
- resisted. THIS time.
Elene was taken by the unearthly visions.

The Hand's words still barely echoed through her subconscious : "Bear witness of its grandeur and let your mind slip away."
"Mind... slip away ? No !"

With great effort, she managed to shrug off the intoxicating effects of The Hand's mental attack. The original Erinyes could shrug off a sleep spell from Apollo ! Not even the gods of ancient Greece could stay the talons of the Furies when they were on the job !

She would NOT disgrace her namesakes by giving in !

Her efforts worked - THIS time; she may not be as fortunate if he tries it again.

"A bliss-out attack ! Very clever !" she thought to herself, still feeling the last vestiges of the desire to give up and just become a blissful, drooling, useless idiot, "I'm going to have to find a way to resist that. And maybe add it to my repertoire - assuming any of us get out of here alive or mentally intact !" she continued, annoyed by the fact that The Hand's attack showed his powers were a bit stronger than hers.

The Dome reshapes again, but a bright purple light shines from within, and in a blinding flash it brakes through the dome, first cracking it severely, and then vaporizing it completely. In the spot there's Nightstar, smoke emanating from her body.
Just then a hole breaks from the ceiling, and an owl inspired drone flies in!
The Monk regards Alecto with a smirk. "Impressive. But I have just began!"

Nightstar power attacks the dome: 18 hits.
Dome toughness: 16 vs DC toughness 34 the dome is destroyed.
Alecto, the Drone and Agent Owl are up!

Alecto
HP : 0
Condition : fatigued, bruised 1 (-1 to Tou checks), now terminally embarrassed

"Well, THIS is going pear-shaped rather quickly !" Elene groused to herself once she noticed Nightstar was now free of her prison. And looking none too happy.

"I wonder if I can turn that to my advantage ... "

Figuring the only thing she HASN'T tried is simple, direct, brute force, the only question was : which target ?

The Chronosphere was the ACTUAL threat, but she did NOT feel like physically attacking a device that CONTROLLED TIME. Assuming she could even dent it, she could end up thousands of years older or something.

The Hand was the main obstacle to reaching the 'sphere, but she had no idea how strong that field protecting him was. Or if it has some other unpleasant effects linked to it.

Nightstar was a blaster, so not usually tough. Grit, she knew was tough enough to take a few of her attacks. Plus became dangerous to attack if he had a chance to go defensive.

And all they had to do to win was run out the clock.

Before taking any action, she tried to sense if The Hand had any artifacts on him that were boosting (or granting) him his powers - it might be easier to get those away from him than to pound him down.

But, they'd have to pound him down anyways, so she launched into an attack, seeing if she can at least find out how strong that shield is.
Simple Accurate Attack for 1

The attack_: 1D20 + 10 = [2]+10 = 12
- wow ! My rolls continue to get more and more pathetic ! A '4', another '4', and now a '2' ?! Am I rolling a d20 or a d4 ?

Pretty sure that 12 was an astoundingly BAD miss - since she didn't actually hit the shield, still don't know how tough it is !

Agent Owl
Hero Points: 0
Condition: 2 Bruise

The Owl Drone had arrived... loudly. Agent Owl reminded herself to try and improve the drone's independent pathfinding AI next time she had the chance, should that chance come.

The drone was present now, and Agent Owl's visor received confirmation that default battle tactics were now in effect. The drone vanished from sight and sound soon after its arrival. As Agent Owl ducked under Grit's massive frame she pulled out her grapnel gun in one hand, and the taser darts in the other and turned to face Nightstar. The girl was powerful and a decent fighter, but one weakness she had observed over the years, is that not all of the girl's fighting skill had been practiced enough to be second nature to her.

Agent Owl tossed the darts at Nightstar, something that even while brainwashed the girl could see coming well enough, but what she might not expect is for a bolt of energy to fly down from above and strike her too! Agent Owl's visor confirmed that the Drone was in the middle of relocating, Agent Owl aimed her grapnel at the ceiling, ready to do so herself.

OOC
-------------
Sorry for the delay...

Owl Drone Free Action: Activate concealment 6 (all visual, all auditory). Will also switch offensive array to stun blast.

Agent Owl Free Action: Switch array to Taser darts

Agent Owl Move Action: Pull out the grapnel.

Agent Owl Standard Action: Defensive attack 5 throw Taser Darts at Nightstar, 15!

Owl Drone Standard Action: Team attack accurate with Agent Owl using Stun Blast vs. Nightstar, 21

Result of Standard Action: If Agent Owl's or the Owl Drone's attack check meets or beats her dodge, Nightstar must make a DC15 fortitude save vs. daze >> stun >> incapacitated. If both attacks make their check, increase the DC by +2; if the supporting attack (Owl Drone's) beats Nightstar's dodge by three degrees, increase the DC by +5. Agent Owl's dodge/parry is at an additional +5 this round.

Owl Drone Move Action: Relocate to elsewhere in the room.

Alecto's magic sense catches two magical items, but they are not in The Hand. (Roll me a perception check please, and also an arcane knowledge check) The thought of that keeps he distracted, and her claw bouces off The Hand's energy shield. He smirks. "Feeble, even coming from a creature of the underworld." he taunts, and crouches in place, moving his hand and charging his fist under his belly. Agent Owl and Starfish had already seen that stance! The Fist of Buddha used it several times. "Let me show you how to do a proper attack!" With his inhuman speed, he essentially vanished from sight, reappearing up, right in front of Alecto, and delivered her a powerful punch in the abdomen! The force of the punch creates a shockewave behind her, as the elderly man grins, dropping down to the floor and in a blink returning to his starting position. Grit for his part grunts in disapproval of Agent Owl's actions. "I am your opponent" he declares in a monotone before slamming at her with a downward punch. Agent Owl activates her grapple gun in the nick of time, and the punch misses her. creating a crater in the ground. Nina is able to glimpse down at Nightstar to see both her darts and the drone's hit their mark, electrocuting her. The former heroine does take the hit with style, painfully removing the darts from her arm. All in all she seems pretty dizzy.

The Hand uses Fist of Buddha: 25 in the attack roll. Alecto needs a dc 25 toughness, and is affected by secondary effect.
Grit Smash!: only a 10.
Nightstar save vs dc 17: 16. She's dazed.
Combat into:
Agent Owl 24 [-2 Toughness, Hidden]
The Hand 15 [Fine]
Grit 12 [Fine]
Starfish 7 [-3 Toughness, Fatigue, Concealed]

Alecto
HP : 0
Condition : now -2 Tou checks, Staggered, Fatigued)
Perception check _: 1D20+8 = [20]+8 = 28
- finally got a roll greater than '4' !

Expertise (Magic) _: 1D20+10 = [17]+10 = 27

Toughness check_: 1D20+10 = [1]+10 = 11
- now THAT I expected !

FAIL by 14. Two degrees : Dazed, another -1 Tou to further checks (like the one she's getting automatically next turn thanks to Secondary Effect !)
Alecto gritted her teeth as The Hand performed some sort of exotic attack move - that hit VERY, very hard !

"I hope Yamamoto has a Plan B ... "
she thought to herself.
Fail by 14 is actually 3rd Degree. She's staggered, and -1 to further toughness checks.

The water, dispersed around the room by Nightstar's rage, coalesces at Starfish's bidding and tries to surround Grit.
Move object to Grab Grit.
Attack: 1D20+8 = [20]+8 = 28
umm... is a crit in this case +5 to the Grab DC?

I'm not sure it's an opposed roll, I think it's just DC20 (move Object rank 10) (or 25 if the crit applies) vs. Grit's strength (knowing that Grit wins ties due to his feature
If successful, she'll try to fling Grit up and out the hole created by the drone and as far away as possible.
If successful, surge to Fling grit away with str10 Which I think is 10 - [grit's mass] in distance on the table, so possibly exhausted next round.
