Photon and Prism
Prisms blast spears the cloaked figure with arcane looking blade that's now glowing a soft but menacing umbral color as it and its horde approach her. the light sizzles and burns the creature causing it to howl in pain but it continues its march forward seemingly uncaring of the burning hole in its chest.

In fact it rushes forward showing a suprising speed and lashes out at her with the arcane looking, the blade seems to glow hungrily as it strikes her its energies seeking to leech the very light and life from her.

the horde of former living shambles after her seeking to bury her under sheer weight of numbers but they aren't able to get a firm grip on her as she avoids their outstretched hands.

Collin avoids a similar fate as he avoids the swarm of grasping hands and worse. The cloaked figures blade sparks off his protective field and he too can feel the blades energies seeking to feed off his life and spirit.

The last of the cloaked figures with the staff seems to almost chuckle malevolently and Colin can almost see the wicked smirk on his face beneath golden jackal mask now visible under the hood.

The figure raises his hands and shouts something in an ancient language and suddenly even prisms light is extinguished in an inky blackness deeper and darker then anything either has ever seen before. And in that blackness the slow moaning and groaning and constant chanting of the word Anubis floats through the cloud as the hordes press in on them.

No worries about the delay end fo the month nonsense on my end anyways

that hits solidly the cloaked figures toughness save _: 1D20+5 = [19]+5 = 24
is a fail by 5 its bruised x1 and its next failed save puts it out as its a tough minion 1

Cloaked figure 1 attacks Photon with his arcane blade _: 1D20+5 = [9]+5 = 14
that's a miss

Zombie horde on Collin _: 1D20+5 = [12]+5 = 17
also a miss

Cloaked figure 2 on prism _: 1D20+5 = [17]+5 = 22
I think that hits if so it does a DC 20 arcane strike with dark energies

zombie horde 2 _: 1D20+5 = [3]+5 = 8
does not hit her

The leader will cast a spell to shroud the area in darkness basically ranged burst area concealment 4 +3 area. no damage or saves needed but you're both blind as bats barring any visual prowess you have.

your new play mates of course are not affected by it.

and back to top of the order IE you two :)

Magus, Hornet, and Dragonfyre

Hornet as he goes further realizes that the cables laying next to the power chords are not just mere power cables. They are hooked into the stone at various points with energy syphons. This is something hes seen before as he was called in one time to examine the remains of an Ultimates device built by Binder. If this is what that is then that means that the rest of the Ulimtates cannot be far away and Shock may be in more trouble then its might seem. All the power cables seem to descend further into the volcanoes center.

Thomas meanwhile is staring deeply at the arcane writings on the wall and the more he looks the more he realizes that what hes seeing are defacto warnings. Arcane Danger signs that all but scream DO NOT ENTER BAD THINGS AHEAD. Also they appear to have been bypassed or broken recently.

The runes and hieroglyphs all seem though as if they were placed there several decades back by someone exceptionally skilled and broken just as recently by someone equally skilled or at least powerful enough to brute force them.

Tony meanwhile is day dreaming about an enormous horde and a massive red dragon sleeping on that horde while dreaming of a massive caldera of lava that burst and bubbles and pops and boils. The daydream is so vivid and almost overwhelming that he nearly misses Hornets shouted warning as six small drones buzz up out of the lower tunnels.

Three of the drones each line up one of them and open fire with reddish globes from their snouts. the heroes dodge the initial fuscilade and the red globes burst in a sticky white substance that coats the walls wherever it hits. Hornet has a sudden flash that it might be bind-x Binders greatest achievement.

The other three drones let fly with a far more lethal armament as their tri barreled snouts whirr and let fly with a sizzling howl of blaster fire. Hornet is able to dodge the worst of it while Thomas merely steps to the side an image of himself left behind to distract the machines, tony merely raises a wing and deflects the stinging rain off it.

The six terrors continue their onslaught of globes and blaster fire as the heroes make ready their response.

All rolls successful

Hornet can see that the powerlines are new and theyre being used to draw power from the volcano itself for some purpose.

Thomas can see that the arcane writings on the wall are seceral decades old and placed here by someone who clearly knows their stuff. they are a sealing of some sort designed to keep something in.

Hornets perception check is all that's needed as he more then makes up for the others.

No one is surprised when 6 small drones zoom up and start blasting

drones 1 -3 use a gloop gun

drones 4 - 6 use a decidedly real blaster.

drones 1 -4 on Hornet

Drones 2 -5 on Thomas

Drones 3 - 6 on tony

Drones 1-3 _: 1D20+5 = [8]+5 = 13
1D20+5 = [11]+5 = 16
1D20+5 = [1]+5 = 6
all miss

Drones 4-6_: 1D20+5 = [11]+5 = 16
1D20+5 = [11]+5 = 16
1D20+5 = [5]+5 = 10
again all 3 miss

Ill need initiatives please gentlemen and your actions

Also Tony gets a hero point as I'm dazing him for the round because of the primal reaction.

Apologies for the tardy response all.

Photon

The onrush of zombies was, sadly, familiar. The lights going out wasn;t entirely new, but an interesting spin on things.

Fighting in these conditions would be challenging. He could try to counter the darkness with a burst of light, but that would give the bad guys time, and time was all a small group needed to defeat a superior foe.

Crossing his fists across his chest, he feels the energy in his bands build up and release out in all directions.
Use Photonic Burst for an Area Burst Damage 11 effect. DC21 Reflex save, DC26/DC21 Toughness.
If I remember by group combat rules, the area counters the bonuses the group gets for numbers. Should hit the horde on me, the hooded guy on me and the leader. I don't know how far Prism and her opponents are from me.

Hornet:
[Kirk McGlothlin]
HP: 1
LP: 2

As he buzzed around in random loops weaves Hornet called out to the other two men. "These drones are meant to work in pairs - take out the ones firing the goop! It's meant to slow us down so one with the blaster can take us out." Then the tiny hero attempts to follow his own advice.

OOC:
Initiative: _: 1D20+6 = [5]+6 = 11.

Stinger Shot Attack (on the goop firing drone): _: 1D20+10 = [12]+10 = 22, assuming that hits it's a Toughness DC 25.

"Something very, very powerful was put down here and was meant to stay here."
, Thom offered to himself and his companions, as he traced over the markings cut into the wall. "We need to...", he began before Hornet's warning interrupted him. Though Ephemeral, instinct caused him to sidestep the attacks aimed at him.

Sound advice. Young man's got a good head on his shoulders, Thom thought as he shifted back to into physicality. "Ranzz's Attacking Arcs!"

Prism
HP:2

The cloaked figure's blade stopped a foot from Prism's body, there was a flare of light as the rounded surface of her shield flashed visible against the blow, as the light of her aura seemed to tighten towards the blow.

She was aware of the sensation of the attack striking her defences, but didn't flinch. It was little more then a touch.

"You are powerless against the Light, creature." she growled.

Then darkness closed in on them. Blinded, Valvalla grimaced. She had no doubt that their enemy was at home in the dark, that was usually the case. Denied of her sight placed her had a disadvantage.

Even as she focused her power to a razor edge, forging a blade of pure, searing light in her grip, the illumination of the blade was swallowed by the shadows so greedily that she couldn't even her energy projected and shaped. Only the sensation of power flowing through her limbs in into her hand, and the warmth of the construct confirmed that the weapon was there.

She swung the blade into the darkness where the cloaked figure had been before the lights went out.
A clean hit, though unless his attack has penetrating, it does not get passed her Impervious Protection.

Counter attacking with Energy Blade in his rough direction.
Attack roll(Blind): 1D20+8-5 = [13]+8-5 = 16

DC 29 if that's a hit. This attack does have penetrating, though I don't think it will be relevant.

Shock
HP: 3 LP: 0
Condition: Bruised 1, Dazed, Fatigued

Chris easily dodged the blast of wind but Blur's boasting made him think. He might actually be in over his head. But he gritted his teeth and tried to press on. His body crackled with electricity and he charged at Blur, leading with a punch.
Will save: 1D20 + 11 = [7]+11 = 18 Demoralized
Defensive attack for 2 and an Aura backed punch.
Aura punch attack: 1D20 + 9 = [13]+9 = 22 Toughness DC26 if that hits.
Dodge and Parry currently 25.

Dragonfyre
HP:2 Cnd: Dazed and Angry

It was the whine of drones, not Hornet's barked warning that shook him out of the complacency that had settled over him. Only instinct folded a wing over his torso. As the blasts sting, the fire within him goes from warmth and soothing to roaring conflagration in an instant. Dragonfyre replies as his kind always has...roaring a challenge! Followed by the roar of FIRE!

Photon and Prism

Prisms blind swing causes a brief flare of light which illuminates the horde closing in on her just as it connects with her target. The cloaked figure howls an unholy shriek as its consumed by the light blade and then falls to dust its arcane blade clanging to the ground.

The horde of arms and limbs belonging to the former living attempts to grasp and bite and drag her down by sheer weight of numbers but the protective shield of light that surrounds her keeps her safe from the pitiable creatures.

Its then that she feels a sudden spike of Power from where Photon was battling the other horde. A sudden brilliant warmth is felt in the dank cavern as the darkness is dissipated by a miniature sun which radiates out from Photon and consumes the other cloaked figure which also gives out an unholy howl of death. The zombies closing in on Colin are consumed by the blast and turned to ash. Even the cloaked figure protected by its shield cannot withstand the full brunt of the power Photon unleashes and its mystical protection begins to crack and waver.

In response the creature raised a hand that as it comes out of the robes is revealed to be desiccated and wrapped in ancient dusty bandages. The mummified hand points at Colin and the creature speaks an unholy invocation that causes the very air around Colin to curdle. He feels his life force simply slipping away into space as the creatures curse takes effect.

Ok First Mummy is hit barely by Prisms Blind swing its toughness save _: 1D20+5 = [7]+5 = 12
not enough to save it even as a tough minion and it crumbles to dust.

Photons attack hits the group approaching him and the leader and the second cloaked figure.

Ill say its just out of the range for the horde approaching Prism.

Not going to bother with saves for the horde or its squad leader but I will roll for the Main character its dodge check _: 1D20+8 = [18]+8 = 26
is a success and he only has half damage to deal with.

its toughness save _: 1D20+8 = [8]+8 = 16
fail by 5 leaving him dazed and bruised x1

the squad leader _: 1D20+5 = [8]+5 = 13
that's a fail by 13 ill rule its enough to flatten him.

The zombie group takes the full hit their save as a group _: 1D20+6 = [3]+6 = 9
BWAHAHAH splat  yeah theyre toast.

Zombie horde #2 will again claw at Prism but it doesn't matter they cant do more then slow her down

Lastly The leader will cast a curse on Colin _: 1D20+ 8 = [13]+8 = 21
I believe that hits that's a DC 18 fort save (fatigued exhausted Incapacitated)

then its back to you two to finish them off.

Shock

The rapid fire series of strikes and kicks keeps blur off guard and even causes Dust Devil to hesitate as Shock attacks instead of retreating like any sane person would do. The blurred man is struck by a wicked upper cut which snaps with electricity that cause him to be jolted backwards rubbing his jaw as he says "Ow.."

Blur retaliates with a blast of sheer power that Shocks defensive maneuvering allows him to easily dodge. DustDevill appears to be more accurate though as he nearly clips Shock with blast of wind that blows another hole in the wall and this times clips a car and flips it over sending some cops just arrived on the scene scrambling for cover.

take a hero point by the by for standing heroically despite the odds.

that does hit Blur his toughness save _: 1D20+ 8 = [17]+8 = 25
that's a fail by 1 degree and a third bruise for him

Blurs attack will be his roll blast _: 1D20+10 = [6]+10 = 16
doesn't come close

Dust Devil ill use his air blast as well _: 1D20+10 = [14]+10 = 24
but misses by that much!!

Shock 33 demoralized

Blur 25 bruised x3

Dust Devil 18 bruised x1 (dazed)

and its back to the top :)

Hornet, Magus, Dragonfyre

The drones continue their onslaught of gloop globs and blaster bolts filling the tunnel with heat and sparks. Thomas sends an arc of arcane energy at one of the gloop throwers but the drones shielding protects it from the worst of the effects. Tonys response is to ROAR and let loose with a blast of flame that consumes one of the drones causing it to explode.

Hornet does some fancy flying which allows him to avoid the globs of Bind-all being lobbed at him and the accompanying laser fire as well. He lines up a Sting and with a loud BZZAAPP!! tags one of the drones right in its target sensor. the accurate shot cause the drone squeal and spark as the sting hits a more vital component and the drone not only goes up in flames but as it does it veers out of control and slams into its blaster armed partner, the sudden impact cause it to whirl around as it shoots and blast one of the others which then veers into a third which then gloops a fourth in rube goldbergian catastrophe that reduces the opposition to one remaining pair.

that's an easy hit and the drones tougnhness save _: 1D20+6 = [1]+6 = 7
     yeah its not only goes boom but Ill rule that Binders Bad luck complication kicks in and it crashes it hits its some of its partners. Ill rule a 1 in 6 chance it crashes into the others

_: 1D6 = [3] = 3
1D6 = [1] = 1
1D6 = [3] = 3
1D6 = [1] = 1
1D6 = [1] = 1

BWAHAHAH 4 of them in one shot Poor Binder  have a hero point because that was just plain funny.

Drone #2 is hit By Thomas magic blast _: 1D20+ 6 = [14]+6 = 20
but makes its save on the mark

Drone #3 is actually hit barely by that _: 1D20+ 6 = [5]+6 = 11
and it goes boom

So with that initiative kicks in

Magus 17
Hornet 11
Dragonfyre 11
drones _: 1D20 = [1] = 1
]

Just to clarify only 1 pair remains one glue one blaster

So top of the order and Thomas your action sir :)

"Stay back!" Chris yelled to the police. The last thing he needed while outnumbered was to have to worry about someone else getting hurt. He kept up his defensive maneuvering but stayed close to Blur and launched a spinning kick attack that missed with the leading foot but connected on the follow-up.

Shock

Blur already shaken** by Shocks prior attacks thinks hes dodged the first kick with a duck only to find a Muay Thai Knee rising up which connects with his chin and nearly knocks him unconscious. The blurred man staggers backwards muttering and cursing as he tries to regain his bearings.

"For F**KS sake would you HIT HIM!!" Dust Devil yells at his teammate "Prefferably with something he cant damn well dodge!!"

"Ahh shut up!" Blur snaps back at him

Still the two villains show some of the teamwork exercises that Binder has put them through. they both point both hands at Shock and let fly with a Wide CONE of combined Wind and Vibration that races towards the Acrobatic hero with a tsunami of sound and fury that threatens to batter him clear off the island.

** LOL pun

That hits no problem

Blurs toughness save _: 1D20+ 7 = [5]+7 = 12
WOW missed a near KO by that much still that's a fail by 14 and 3 degrees meaning hes staggered and bruised x4

Blur will use his cone aoe Rock blast for a DC 20

Dust Devil with do the same with a cone wind blast for a DC 20 as well

What I'm going to do is give you one save versus DC 20 for half effect but I'm going to stack their effect which in this case is Dust Devils specifically the rank 10 knockback effect so its a DC 25 damage effect and a rank 10 move object that will put you through the wall and across the parking lot into another wall.

or a rank 20 DC and a rank 5 move object that just knocks you on your rear without an acrobatics check.

Hornet watches the chain reaction of drone destruction with an amused expression, it seems that Binder's bad luck extended to his creations. Not that he was going to complain about it, as Binder did solid work even if he did have no luck except bad, because having to deal with all those drones could have taken longer than the tiny hero wanted as well as tip off any of the other members of the Ultimates that might be at this location to the heroes presence.

So Hornet gives the Magus a moment to handle the remaining drones, and ready to lend a hand if it was needed.
