What do you mean by maintain? Nullify just turns a power off. They can turn it back on as a free action in many cases. It is an Instant effect. unless you bought it sustained.

Then you can't really switch to another one. Although weaken would probably do what you want better than nullify. But I'm not certain about that.

Lol. Change die rollers. Sometimes it's the only way.
Don't worry, I'll tank something eventually. Last time I played a light controller, she consistently failed her attacks and aced her defense rolls. I also made her the group skill monkey. She usually tanked those as well. It became a running meme that she couldn't hit the broadside of a barn at 2 paces, but could shrug off most attacks. Then with another character, I gave her high perception/insight points, but again, she constantly rolled like 1's or 2's on those skills. She couldn't even see her toes!

Oof. Sometimes the 1d20 has a touch too much randomness to it that makes things a character should easily accomplish downright impossible.
