The black, cloying, arctic mist swirls around, and blades manifest from within.
The blades scrape and slash and bite, but, despite superficial scarring, no real damage is done.

Imperious brings his arms up, meeting blow after blow with blade or forearm blocks, but still some of the strikes get past his defenses and scratch at Shi'Halal's armoring. For now it held. Lucas quickly realized his defense was not going to be good enough to consistently hold back the Starvampire many accurate attacks. So he went on the offensive, dropping his guard in favor of swing a heavy, hooking, slashing punch, intent on cutting a gash across Korazzu's chest.
OOC wrote:I made some mistakes on bonuses/Feats in an Attack roll. This one is with the corrected numbers.

Imperious continues his assault on Korazzu. All-out Attack -5/+5 and Power Attack -3/+3 are in use. All-out Attack +5 Atk/-5 Def, Power Attack -3 Atk/+3 Dmg: 1D20+12 = [13]+12 = 25 DC 38 Toughness if that hits. Descriptor is "Sunlight".

All-out Attack puts Imperious' Defense at 15 to hit until his next turn.

EDIT:

Toughness check: Toughness: 1D20+20 = [11]+20 = 31
HP: 1
Defense: 20 (15 until next turn)
Conditions: Healthy.
Encephalon: Deactivated
Communion Array: Immunity to Mental Effects
Blast "Arsenal" Dynamic Array: Enhanced Strength 30 and Strike 3 [Feats: Might (+1 pp), Variable Descriptor "Technological Weaponry" 2 (+2 pp)]
Flight "Utility" Dynamic Array: Flight 10 ; Quickness 1 ; Ultravision Extended 3 ; X-Ray Vision Extended 3

OOC:
OUCH! Korazzu rolls a 20! He fails by 18!
Korazzu explodes, light shining from within, a brief incandescence that illuminates the bleak skies. Then, charnel Red fills the mist and, far below, tens of thousands of bats and rats explode as well. Korazzu reforms, unharmed, from the sudden bloom of red, and sneers at you. “Foolish child, I am no upyr living in a castle up on a hill! I have science to aid me!
OOC:
Counter-attack forthcoming. Oof! He hits! But only barely! Make a Toughness save!

Korazzu’s blades begin to glow crimson-hot...but, strangely fail to do any additional damage...however, the smell of garlic becomes overwhelmingly strong. The blades slide across Shai’Halal’s surface, scoring it lightly.

"You are a parasite. Nothing more."

Imperious proclaims after Korazzu recovers from his wounds by cannibalizing his own minions. The blades extending from his vambraces turn into chains which Imperious whips at the Starvampire, endeavoring to wrap him up in their radiant solar energies. TO bind him, and hold him fast. If he managed to snared to Xeno, Imperious then flies straight up, pulling his ensnared enemy with him.
OOC wrote:Adjusting Shi'Halal's Utility Array to include some Super-Strength.

Switching Lucas' Communion Array to Impervious Toughness 20.

Imperious is going to use a Grapple Action, with All-Out Attack -5/+5 Grapple, All-out Attack: 1D20+15 = [16]+15 = 31

If the Attack hits, here is the Grapple check: Grapple check: 1D20+36 = [17]+36 = 53

If he wins the opposed Grapple check Imperious will fly, straight up at Flight 10, taking Korazzu with him.

EDIT:

_: 1D20+20 = [3]+20 = 23

Using 1 HP to re-roll the Toughness check. re-roll TOughness: 1D20+20 = [1]+20 = 21
+10 for rolling 10 or under 10 = 31
HP: 0

The blades claw and bite, but with enormous effort, Imperious finds off genuine harm. Korazzu laughs. “You will crack, soon. Your lifeblood is mine!

Below, Nepenthe, realizing what brought Korazzu back from death at Imperious’ hands, is laying waste to Wolves, bats and rats. She kills thousands with every sweep of her conical blast, but tens of thousands yet remain.

"I will return."

... Imperious sent the message to Nepenthe. Then, within the confines of his helmet he directed Shi'Halal.

"Take us to Rustdeity bring. Korazzu with us."

As the armor counted down the dimensional anchor drop, Imperious spoke aloud to the Starvampire.

"I will give you something to fear Xeno."

When they appeared in his native dimension Imperious pulled on the sunlight-chain, tightening them. Using them to constrict the undead creature while holding him up, towards the sun's rays.
OOC wrote:Switching Shi'Halal's Utility Array to Dimensional Movement 3. Imperious then uses a Move Action to transport himself and Korazzu back to Rustdeity. Ideal we'll appear in space so that sunlight is shining directly on him.

Imperious then attacks Korazzu using All-out Attack -5/+5 Attack Korazzu, All-out Attack -5/+5: 1D20+15 = [18]+15 = 33 DC 35 Toughness if that hits. Descriptor is "Sunlight".

Korazzu sneers and cries out triumphantly, “Your pet witch cannot kill my minions quickly enough, poor sir knight! Hahahahahaha! I sh—-

And then Imperious drags Korazzu back to Rustdeity.
OOC:
Korazzu rolled an almighty 15. That is a monumental failure! Because his vampiric resurrection lacks Dimensional, he’s no others to sacrifice in his stead. BUUURRRNN!
Even in the weakened sunlight of Rustdeity, Korazzu’s photophobic flesh catches fire instantly. He struggles with insane drive to survive, but it isn’t enough.

Two other Starvampires remain,” Shai’Halal reminds Imperious. “We must return, or Nepenthe will perish!

With the Starvampire absent the sun-light chains fell and dangled from his arms. Then they reshaped themselves into a set of blades.

"To the House of Fallen Peace."

Lucas confirmed. Shifting to the the howling sanctum of the Starvampires Shi'Halal's sensors readjusted for the darkness and resources were reallocated for flight, as opposed to dimensional travel. Aiming downwards he plummeted towards the ground while searching for Nepenthe's last known location in an effort to rejoin her.
OOC wrote:Move Action to return to the House of Fallen Hope. Then I'm going to switch up Shi'Halal's Utility Array to: Flight 12 ; Ultravision Extended 2 ; X-Ray Vision Extended 1.

Then he'll use a Move Action to join up with Nepenthe again. If Imperious sees that she is under attack, this will be a Charge Action, targeting her attacker, instead.

Nepenthe is on the full defensive, using every trick in the book to stand up to her assailants: two Hulking Starvampires, blessed with over muscled physiques and very tiny heads, and a flock of what was, until just now, ten Tengu. It is clear she’s killed two Tengu, leaving the total at eight.

Imperious plummets down from the sky. His black armor almost blending into the darkness of the artificial dimension. Stars shining over it's surface, almond shaped emerald lenses, and the bright blades composed of yellow solar energy standing out in the ill lit realm. It is the latter, the searing hot blades, that take point. For Imperious spears into one of the Starvampires assailing Nepenthe, intent on using his mass to push it away from her and interpose himself between the Princess and the small headed Xeno.

"Your Priest is ash on the wind. Soon you will be too!"

OOC:
The Vampirebrute rolls a 29! He thus fails by 3, reducing his Toughness from +11 to +10!
The two Vampirebrutes waste no time talking. Both of them instantly switch to attack Imperious.
OOC:
Two attacks forthcoming! Both of them hit! They can’t do enough damage to get through your Impervious Toughness, but their Death Touch targets Fortitude! Make two Fortitude checks!

As their claws sink in, the Vampirebrutes cackle madly. Imperious feels a bizarre draining sensation, and Shai’Halal warns, “They are attempting to leech portions of your memetic core, or soul, or perhaps better said your raw lifeforce. The second beast almost established a psychic siphon!

It fit with the vampiric theme, Lucas admitted, when Shi'Halal informed him of the effects of the brute's claw attack. It was good their attention was on him rather than Nepenthe though. Fighting through the attacks against him Imperious took them like an armored tank. With one arm-blade he probed at the defense of his previous target, tried to create an opening. Then he struck with the other, aiming to slash the Starvampire across it's chest.
