That's the problem with having a thread documenting campaign information, mechanics, and NPCs writeups. PCs will read it.

Yes. Which is why I started up and posted an NPC you are extremely unlikely to ever meet!

You are right. I do like looking at NPC write ups for inspiration sometimes as well. It can be good for brainstorming ideas for your character, and is helpful for trying to figure out how to fit into a setting you have not played in before.

I’m posting all this expressly for people to look at it! The Forever Tree’s my baby, and I’m eager to show it off!

I edited a roll into my last past. Rolled a 14 (natural 1). How important is this roll? If it's important, I'll use a HP to reroll.

A re-roll would be advised, yes.

Some questions: Are skynodes visible in Rustdeity's skyline? If so, would Imperious know the physical location of any? In the same vein, what is the signal strength/distance to skynode icon indicating? Or is that not present in Imperious' vision?

Skynodes are huge, MASSIVE structures, built to maintain not one but two galaxy-spanning VR networks. They’re quite visible. Unfortunately, they have a mysterious tendency to burn out and stop functioning, for reasons that baffle even cybermagi.

Unfortunately, the nearest skynode to Bastion burned out 5 centuries ago.
Fortunately, skynodes have global range, so being near one isn’t strictly necessary. The problem the brainnet may be having is probably on the skynode’s end of things.

As to where the second-closest skynode is, Imperious does have its coordinates...but it’s controlled by reaver biotwists who worship the structure aa a great god. It’s nigh-on 200 miles from Bastion. Granted, to Imperious, 200 miles means very little, but still...

As to the signal strength, it’s indicating full signal.

That active skynode controlled by reavers is something Imperious would eventually deal with. The brainnet-skynode issue and reavers controlling a skynode are both reasons to step in.

Presently, it would distract him from the current issue of the contagion and Mr. Mystery though.

I'm getting confused now. At one point it was implied by an object that Mr. Mystery effectively vanished when they left the Tempestineer complex.

Ang mentions that they had machines guard Mr. Mystery's body while he did something similar to astral projection. Or is Ang suggesting that Mr. Mystery later left to physically relocate to the plague ship in orbit?

To make it a bit clearer: Ang said Mr. Mystery came back from his astral voyage with ‘poison in his mind’. Nothing physical, in other words, was taken from the vessel...just the genetic code for brewing your very own TEGS virus. Which he then used on the Tempestineers, once he brewed some up.
