I would say that's reasonable. I hadn't thought about it per say, but bog-standard cisgender heterosexual.

For Peter, what is happening is REAL. Not just in his mind. He sees the ice. He feels the ice. He might, in fact, freeze to death as an ice cube. That is how it feels for him. So when he reacts, it shouldn't be "I use my willpower to fight this ice back". His response should be pronounced and physical. Such as trying to LEAP CLEAR of the encroaching ice.
