Outside

"Couldn't say. One day she was here, next morning Aelric is stomping around yelling for his wife," Oscar grimaces, "Checked the house, no body, no blood. She didn't have any enemies in town."

"Figured she got tired of that," He points to the building where the still yelling Aelric can be heard, "And decided to move on."

He shakes his head, "Fair few people doing that around here these days."

Aldan

While the constable talks Aldan's magically scribing quill skritches across the paper.
"Well, I shall definitely speak to the mayor about this, making sure to outline your involvement, Constable Glover." Aldan says, but it likely comes out as an empty threat. That was fine. Aldan could work with a dottering, incompetent character too.
Deception: 1d20+6 9
unfortunate rolls.

He turns and heads back in to the hovel leaving the paladin with situation well in hand.

Inside he talks low and urgent to the group. "The law is here to take Aelric. Have we gotten all we need from him?"
"Something pithy this way comes."

Aelric's wild eyes turn to Georgia for a second, "S- s- Smashed them!"

"Smashed them!" He starts screaming as he flexes against his bonds thrashing wildly,"Smashed them!"

There is a loud popping noise that might have come from Aelric's bonds, but regardless he remains bound and helpless.
"Now you cut that out." Georgia admonished the blacksmith. "Its smashing things that got your hands tied up like that in the first place. Please just calm down for a moment, the more you help us the easier it will be to help find your wife. It doesn't sound like we have long to talk."

Georgia didn't have high hopes about getting anything else out of him.

(Can I do further persuasion [or other] checks to try and get more information?)

Inside

Any attempts to get Aleric's attention at this point fail as he thrashes around yelling, largely oblivious to your presence as he fights with his bonds.

Outside
"Where's she gone? Or do you have so many disappearing that you no longer look?"
Grover scowls, "I've asked around, either nobody saw anything or nobody's talking to me. I've sent messages to the nearby towns, but I've never heard back, probably because they don't feel like doing any footwork for some hick village. There's no signs of attacks, and I can't leave the town to check on anything without people panicking and running amok."

"If you think you can do a better job, be my guest," He growls, "But I think you'll find Orlane isn't the friendly town it used to be."

He looks at the others, waving them forward "Come on."

Assuming nobody attempts to stop them they gather up Aleric and lead him off, still screaming and struggling against his bonds, towards the constable's office. The men assisting Oscar seem to be pretty gentle, all things considered, even as the giant man bounces them around. They seem to be doing everything in their power to avoid attracting the big man's attention away from the ropes he's fighting against.

Aldan

"To the Mayor?" Aldan suggests.

Assuming no descent, starts walking.

Georgia makes no effort to impede the officers. Although she politely warns them "The poor fella already attempted to break his hands free once, so be cautious. They should hold just fine but I would hate for any of you fine gents to have to deal with any unpleasantness should he manage to get loose unexpectedly."

With the situation with the enraged blacksmith dealt with Georgia just shrugged and followed Aldan. "Yes, I'd say its about time to mosey on over there. So right now we've seen not-all-there weird, foaming-at-the-mouth weird, and regular old paranoid. what d'ya reckon the next flavor of weird'll be?"

As you leave the blacksmith's shop and cross the solid wooden bridge leading west into the village.

To the north you see a sign crudely depicting a needle piercing the seat of a pair of pants hangs before this establishment, a small, ramshackle building in need of considerable repair. A shutter hangs loosely, shingles are missing from the roof, and the walls show signs of rot in several places. (11)

Directly to the south is a house is in desperate need of repair. The front door, porch steps, and visible roof supports are missing. The barn is in even worse condition, but the many chickens in the yard suggest that the place is indeed inhabited. (13)

Following the road as it slowly curves north you see a larger building to the west. This is a fairly well-kept establishment with an assortment of farm implements and cooking utensils on the wide porch. The door stands open, and a well-painted sign depicting a pot, a plow, a sack, and a lantern hangs over all. (12)

The constable and his men lead Aelric off to the north west, Oscar takes the time to look back and point out your destination for you, to the north east.

As you continue up the path there is a small cottage to the north of the trail. This small, square building has been freshly whitewashed.
Heavy curtains hang over the windows, and the door is shut. (9)

Finally you arrive at your destination, the only building sitting next to where the river swells into a a small lake.

This house is set well back from the road, and is partially screened by a pair of medium-sized elms.
This is by far the most imposing house in the village. The walls have been regularly whitewashed and the roof gleams with new wooden shingles. A wide porch crosses the entire front of the house, and columns of wood support the overhanging roof. The columns have been carved into leafy patterns by a skilled craftsman. (10)

As you knock on the door an attractive middle aged woman answers the the door, and a small blonde girl peeks out at you from behind her skirt. The woman's expression changes rapidly as she sees you, going from a cheerful as the door opens, to surprised and a little worried as she sets eyes on you, to an almost sheepish expression and back to cheerful again. The whole process takes less than a second; blink and you'd have missed it.

"Oh, hello," She says, smiling, "Can I help you?"

The woman nods, looking across the group for a second before nodding, "He's out back right now. Would you like to come in for some tea while I send one of the kids to go get him?"

"Thank you kindly for the hospitality ma'am." Georgia says as they are invited in. "You have such a lovely home."

She gives a warm, reassuring smile to the lady of the house and the little girl.

She smiles, turning to the little girl hiding behind her.

"Go tell your father that Mr Tallymin is here."

The girl immediately turns and runs yelling "Papa! Tally-man is here!"

"No yelling in the house!" She yells after the quickly retreating child, then lets out a long suffering sigh, turning back to her guests.

"Thank you," She smiles as she leads you into a fair sized room with a large round table.

She waves to the table, "Please, have a seat. It will only take a moment."

"My husband is quite fond of woodworking. He did all of the carvings himself," She picks up a fancy looking striker and starts a fire in the nearby fireplace, then adds some a water to the kettle and hangs it over the flames.

Dusting off her hands she joins you at the table.

Her smile falters a little, "It's... It's good."

"The children are getting a little stir crazy, and you're the first visitor we've had in a week," She admits, "But perhaps things are looking up."

She turns to look at Georgia.

"Those instruments... you're a bard?" She asks hopefully.
