Wait, you want me to let you use the skill specifically designed for this situation?
The skill you built into your character concept and invested points into for these exact situations?

I don't know, that sounds entirely too reasonable, as a terrible GM I feel that must veto this for a far worse solution :D

In other news I really need to figure out where my PHB went to.

On a bigger note, as you might have guessed something is about to happen...
But it's also Thanksgiving in Canada, so please forgive me but there probably won't be any updates until Tuesday.
I'm off to visit my family.

So... not to let the cat out of the bag...

Please bear with me, I know the picture doesn't entirely line up with what I described before, but it wasn't as easy to find or build the proper one at the moment.
(Also by the 5 feet block concept I believe this inn is huge beyond belief, but it looks good and works well so lets just embrace our giant house building overlords ;~) )

To help ease your minds (and since you would have done so had you known the rooms were there) your characters have already searched through the rooms, there are no hidden threats in those rooms.
The room have beds, and even some clothing scattered around, but there isn't anything of any real value remaining.

The ladder to the right side of the picture leads down into the cellar and normally would have a door closed over it to prevent people from falling in, but the door has been left open.

I put together a quick layout, but please let me know where you would like your characters to be.

Also, rolling init would be good, since you're obviously setting an ambush and have had time to prepare please roll with a +4 bonus.

init: 1d20+8 18

Assuming M20 is the cellar entrance, Aldan is good.

Uh-oh, TM called my bluff, time to move to Australia.

Tyragorn: 14
Zasio: 9
Goblins: 6

Yup, that's right, the dice gods hate goblins more than TM ;~)

Do the general appearance of the goblins match that of the one we faced before? Equipment? Health? etc?

It's too dark to get a lot of good details, but they look underfed, dirty, and seem to be armed with weapons they found in the local area.

No regrets. A goblin at 2 HP is just as deadly as a goblin with full HP. Shame about the successful disadvantage though.

Well that was embarrassing. Took me half an hour to plan a move and melee attack. My D&D is so rusty

I know how that goes.
I often think to myself "Gee, I should have just done this in M&M" ;~)

Please let me know what coordinates your characters has moved to so I can keep the map up to date.
Let me know if the picture is too small, I can see what I can do to make it larger.
Thanks.

Do we have Inspiration from anything that we've done so far?

The move puts Tyragorn in N15
