Yaknow, seems to me that Kevin S was trying to "Fix" the System he created by just tossing in more "Kewl Awesome Stuff" and trying to hide or shift blame.

-Heavy Machine Cyborgs are massive monsters with tons of obvious gear- not as inhuman as some 'Borgs, but they cannot pass for normal people.

-Heavy Machine Cyborgs are equivalent to the Main Ruleboook's Full Conversion 'Borg, sporting 500+ M.D.C. and all the best stuff from the "Bionics" section. This can make them rather versatile, but given that most are inhuman anyways, you can easily opt for accuracy-enhancing Extra Limbs, extra-powerful versions of Vibro-Blades, and +13 Blasters. This turns them into PL 10.5 attackers with PL 10 defenses- not bad for a first-level troop type.

-... *sigh*... so yeah, there's an EXTRA version of Cyborg Troop, too- the "Shocktroopers" are I guess the elite of the elite, except there's also War-Knights. These guys are Knights of the Realm who volunteered to become even more powerful fighters- "some of the most powerful Cyborgs on Earth". Once more, we read about how they are accepted by Russian society and thus aren't as prone to psychosis as other Cyborgs, and blah blah blah. It is these guys who form the core of the rest of the book- detailing various types of unique Shocktrooper units that each Warlord uses. They use paragraph after paragraph to talk about how scary, strong and lethal they are, so you KNOW Kevin wants you to be impressed.

-The baseline of a Shocktrooper isn't so great, as the bonuses presumably stick to later Specialist Suits and not the core class. It's a bit weird because this renders them more professional, skilled versions of the Light & Heavy Cyborgs, but worse overall.

The VX-500 Manhunter is better known as “the Red ‘Borg,” even in the game’s universe. It was published in RIFTS® World Book Five: Triax™ & the NGR™... I seem to remember Jab building it, but I’m not seeing it on his table of contents.

I just lumped most of them together as one general purpose Combat ‘Borg back when we started this whole RIFTS® conversion stuff... But I don’t have Jab’s dedication to detail and comprehensiveness.

THE WARLORDS' "ARCH-TYPICAL" CYBORGS:
-Kevin, Master Writer, probably meant "Archetypical" there. So remember at the beginning of the book when they talked about how each Warlord had their own "Design" of Cyborg, and what each guy's were? Well here is the list of them, 100 pages later! These are suuuuuuuuuuper special and unique to the Warlords, as anyone ripping them off is subject to "all-out war" from the offended Warlord, and everyone got the picture after this happened twice. Translation: These are Special Snowflake Cyborgs.

-Warlord Alekseyevna's only 'Borg is the Tempest, which looks like a Gargoyle and a SAMAS had a baby. Like him, they are ancient (but have been improved over time). It breathes fire, uses a tail to ensnare enemies, and shoots lasers from its eyes. It has a mounted Plasma or Rail Gun, Vibro-Talons and more. It gets an extra attack from the Tail, plus bonuses to hit and defend. Its durability is a key factor- it has Glitter Boy-tier M.D.C. (340 base, plus 180-280 extra)- this adds up to make it PL 10 in melee, PL 12 at range- a real menace.

-The no-nonsense, merciless Warlord Burgasov has two 'Borgs- the Butcher is the super scuffed-up, Perez-drawn, gun-toting Boba Fett Mech-looking guy. It has maximum head protection (kind of a big deal in Rifts, where destroying the head can be fatal) and powerful Vibro-Swords. Thanks to toughness equal to some of the best suits in the game, it's PL 10.5 on Defense, despite only minimal accuracy and defensive boosts.

-Burgasov's other 'Borg type is the Ripper- a frontline assault unit with a scary animal face and covered in chainsaws, drawn by Johnson so it looks a bit different. Tons of detail, though- not bad. It has Kevin S "If it looks like it could possibly shoot missiles, it shoots missiles" syndrome, as two giant spikes on its back are now missile launchers, too. It's comparatively slow, but has +15 Toughness (said to be among the best, but matches the M.D.C. of the Tempest and is barely higher than others). It has modest defensive bonuses and a good Buzzsaw, making it PL 11-12 on defense, PL 9 on offense.

-Statesmanly Warlord Kolodenko gives us the White Tiger 'Borg- a speedy, stealthy infantry unit. Even though it's white with black stripes- notably a disadvantageous evolutionary trait of Bengal Tigers. As a Johnson design, it's naturally Kevin's ideal thing- a unit with 8,000 pieces of hardware on it- holes all over are missile launchers, it has hidden whips, etc.

-Yet another Toughness +15 'Borg, the White Tiger is also +1 to attack, strike & parry, making it pretty good at what it does, hitting PL 12 defensively and PL 10.5 offensively. So like, one of these could probably beat a Juicer one-on-one, which a lot of supposedly-elite suits and 'Borgs have trouble doing.
