I might not be reading this picture correctly. Is that knife directly against the femoral artery? What is the odd phallic shadow next to it?
The knife is hanging off the belt in front of her leg. The shadow is from the knife. It's confusing because there appears to be multiple light sources

Thank you. I see it now. Multiple light sources and some odd camera angles.
We rise from the ashes so that new legends can be born.

Komplications:
Prejudice (Tigrar Clan)- Of the Shokan, the Draco Class is above the Tigrar. Kintaro doesn't seem affected by this, though, being chosen as Shao Kahn's bodyguard.
Motivation (Beating Ass)- Kintaro has little characterization beyond "wants to beat up everybody". In short- the perfect henchman.
Responsibility (Ego)- Kintaro is so confident that he'll beat his opponents that he'll often just sit there and roar in the middle of a match, allowing a free hit. Because why not?

Total: Abilities: 70 / Skills: 48--24 / Advantages: 25 / Powers: 31 / Defenses: 18 (158)

Kintaro- He Doesn't Just Beat You; He Kicks Your Ass:
-The quote above says it all- Kintaro was one HELL of a boss in MK II. I mean, when you start off with freaking GORO, what else can you do to top him than upgrade all of his moves and make him even CHEAPER? You had to be GOOD to beat this guy- criminy, playing as him in the "Every Kharacter Ever" game Mortal Kombat Trilogy is proof enough that he's dangerous- check this out as he tears through every character, doing nearly 1/4 damage with BASIC OFFENSE like punches. Fighting him is indescribable- his offense is often unblockable, he can throw you OUT OF JUMPS, and he can basically just neutralize whatever you were going to do and do his own move instead (ie. you're in mid-Kick and he just ignores it and grabs you instead). Pretty much ANY time you tried to get him, he'd just throw you and do his Teleport Stomp.

-Kintaro is part of the "Tigrar" lineage of Shokan, unlike the more elite "Draco" types like Goro & Sheeva- this makes him more savage and catlike (this increases with each game- at first he was just a tiger-striped Goro), but a lower class than the others. He doesn't seem to mind, though, as he's just your standard shit-kicker who cares for little other than beating the hell out of people. Kintaro was initially going to be a more anthropomorphic Tiger-Man in a karate gi, and a regular playable character, but the realities of digitized graphics would just not allow it- the costume would be too hard to make, and so they instead made him an upgraded version of Goro. One of Shang Tsung's Fatalities in MK II was the uber-difficult (ie. win the whole last round while holding Low Punch, then release it 2 seconds after the end) Kintaro Morph where he'd punch half your body across the screen. It's not clear what happens to him in the MK canon, as he doesn't show up much post-MK II, though I think they decided that Raiden blew him up. Not that MK's Kontinuity is any more clear than that in comic books. And unfortunately, he has very little to do with the canon, or any outside media- Goro gets most of the hype as the Sub-Boss, Kintaro never showed up in either movie, none of the TV shows, and he doesn't have any particular feuds with other guys (though MK 2011 throws him a bone and says that he's the guy who torched Kabal).

Original Kontinuity:
-Kintaro is a simple soul: just Shao Kahn's vicious attack dog, and Sub-Boss of Mortal Kombat II. He vows to avenge the defeat/death of Goro at the hands of Liu Kang, but is instead defeated by him. In MK Trilogy (the final version of MK3), he appears as a subordinate again, having led some of Kahn's armies to Earth. He fights Liu Kang again, but loses, then vanishes for two games. He reappears in MK: Deception leading Kahn's armies against Edenia, then shows up in a minor role in MK: Armageddon.

New Kontinuity:
-Kintaro appears in the second MK tournament, but loses to Kung Lao after he beats both Shang Tsung & Quan Chi. He reappears during the MK3 portion, at the invasion of Earth, where he badly burns Kabal, resulting in him wearing his iconic mask. He is immediately beaten by STRYKER of all people, however, and later loses to Cyber Sub-Zero alongside Goro, as both were just "guarding prisoners" at this point. Honestly, their roles as so minor I would think it would be better if both Shokan had died in their respective games- the repetitive "and then they became Mooks" stuff is embarrassing to once-mighty characters. He reappears in the comic book series, bowing to Sheeva as Queen (when she saves him from drowning), but is overwhelmed and then KILLED by the female fighters of Earthrealm, Sonya Blade tearing off his head while Cassie & Jacqui beat on him.

Kintaro's Stats:
-Kintaro is basically an upgraded, PL 11 Goro. Using the exact game version would result in a PL 14-ish guy with the ability to Neutralize All Attacks at random (something like an Affliktion that Disables you temporarily, or a just plain Damaging Aura for when he just grabs you out of your own move)- he is THAT TOUGH. He basically takes all of Goro's stuff and makes it one notch more damaging and accurate- he's better in basically every way. Your best shot in the games was to corner-trap him with Low Punches- the MK games were never very good for balance, and so certain cheap tactics could always be counted on. In the 2011 remakes, Kintaro is actually FAR diminished, and would be lucky to be a PL 9- he loses up and down the card to several different fighters.

Hm, since we're in the dregs of these guys, I'll check some interest for other fighting games I haven't done yet:

* Killer Instinct
* Tekken (Thorp's doing some now. I fear mine would be very same-y guys, much like my Virtua Fighter builds, but the characters are at least somewhat varied in personality, unlike VF)
* Time Killers
* Kasumi Ninja (the infamous worst game ever)
* Way of the Warrior (the most "My friend and I made this in our apartment" game ever)
* King of Fighters (hey, SOME DAY I might find proper bios for these characters, making this a possible project :))
* Ballz (not that these builds will be at all complex)
I'd like Killer Instinct, Tekken, or King of Fighters. There are plenty of decent bios for KOF.

Dodge +12 (DC 22), Parry +14 (DC 24), Toughness +8, Fortitude +11, Will +7

Komplications:
Rivalry (Shokan)- Centaurians are considered inferior to the Shokan, and Motaro thus despises all of the four-armed peoples, and seeks to prove his superiority over them, especially Sheeva.

Total: Abilities: 72 / Skills: 40--20 / Advantages: 22 / Powers: 32 / Defenses: 17 (173)

Motaro- Super-Cheap; Hard To Animate:
-Motaro is the SNK-Hard Sub-Boss of Mortal Kombat 3, finally switching out the "Shokan Bosses" and acting as a guy who was JUST as tough as Kintaro, if not worse. He had little personality beyond "Ass-Kicker", much like the others, but was given as the slayer of Johnny Cage and an enemy of Sheeva and her Shokan race. He was beaten by Sheeva in MK 3, and completely disappeared until MK: Armageddon.

-This disappearance seems a bit odd... but it's really just thanks to age-old problems with animation. Polygonal graphics just CAN NOT create a Centaur-like character properly- the games's engine were only capable of creating a bipedal "base" for characters, and suddenly adding this giant half body to it wasn't doable. In fact, in MK: Armageddon, he was rendered as a MINOTAUR thanks to a curse brought upon him by the Shokan! It's so bad that even in *2011*, the engine of Mortal Kombat wasn't advanced enough to allow him to become a playable character- Fighting Games are just too elaborate, with too many variable factors in the fights, to allow for it in the memory! He's the only character in the original trilogy not to be playable! As you might imagine, this makes him one of the most-forgotten of all the original characters, and a complete non-factor in Mortal Kombat as a whole.

-Funnily enough, he's based off of a Micronauts toy Ed Boon had as a child- by taking the head & neck off of the Andromeda horse toy, Baron Karza's torso could then be attached and turned into a long-tailed Centaur. His Fatality (only included in the Sega Genesis games) was notoriously-cheaply-done, as they just stuck his victory pose with a decapitated head on top of his hand in one frame of animation and called it a day.

-Motaro is the leader of the Centaurians, a race that Shao Kahn has been favoring over the Shokan for a while now. Motaro thus leads the extermination squads on their way to Earth, killing Johnny Cage in the process. However, Sheeva, the last representative of the Shokan race in the games, assaults and kills him in secret. However, he turns up alive in MK: Armageddon, having had his whole race cursed by the Shokan, transforming them into minotaurs (which just happen to be easier to animate). In the 2011 remake, he's just in cut-scenes, being killed by Raiden.

Motaro's Stats:
-Motaro was a beast just as nasty as Kintaro was- perhaps even WORSE because of his ability to not only be immune to all Projectiles, but his ability to throw them ALL right back at you as a Reaction, neutralizing a ton of your offense. To determine the exact amount of his Immunity, I figured him to earn slightly more than 50% of the points off an 80-point Immunity to Toughness Saves, since MOST guys' attacks in MK are melee-based, and only minor stuff (generally +4 Ranged Damage tops) ends up being outside of that. He lost this ability by "Armageddon", and even the MK 3 games downgraded it a bit before that.

Lol- figures that by far the most popular suggestions are the ones I’m least interested in :P.

Re: KoF- the problem, continuously, is that the characters don’t have proper move lists anywhere. A list of Japanese move names and how to do the moves is useless (I’ve actually had people do that, lol). With most fighters, you can watch a single YouTube video and figure a guy out; with KoF, it’s all team-based (making it extremely arduous), and there’s 16 editions of the games with moves always being swapped out. It’s just an impossibility. I have no idea why SNK fans have the bio-writing skills of DC fans, but they do. Mortal Kombat I can easily build just reading their Wiki site, by contrast- the moves are explained down to the last detail.

Komplications:
Enemy (Motaro)- Sheeva's race of Shokan are enemies of Motaro's Centaurians, and she rankles that Kahn's chosen Bodyguard is now one of her enemies.
Responsibility (Sindel)- Sheeva has been charged with protecting Kahn's wife, Queen Sindel.

Total: Abilities: 56 / Skills: 46--23 / Advantages: 22 / Powers: 18 / Defenses: 14 (133)

Sheeva- WOULD BANG:
-Sheeva was a great lil' idea- basically turning the Shokan Sub-Bosses into a regular character (sort of like how RPGs make the Bosses into Common Mooks eventually), and "un-breaking" them by making the character a thinner, smaller woman instead of a burly giant. Sheeva was a regular fighter in MK 3, where she was the bodyguard of Sindel (the neat thing about MK was that pretty much every character had SOME motivation or reason for being there, rather than just being some dumb chef or "I'm proving that my martial art is best" or something). They seem to have a great deal of difficulty determining her body type- in her first appearance she was a standard "hot chick" build but had freaky digits and a weird face. Later games would make her a super-bulky powerhouse. The 2011 MK remake goes somewhere in between. Most fan-artists tend to go with "super hot chick in every way, but has four arms" approach, for what I assume are obvious reasons :).

-Despite her memorable look, she is one of the least-used characters in the Original Trilogy- appearing literally only in the games where she HAD TO appear- her debut, Armageddon (where everyone got in), and the 2011 remake. This is due in part to the difficulties in animating a four-armed woman (you can't just put her easily over a template the way you would most of the fighters' "Skins"), in addition to the live action MKs having trouble by making her an actual actress instead of a guy in a bulky suit (She appears very little in MK: Annihilation, getting beaten without a fight scene when Liu Kang dropped a steel cage on her). She didn't even appear in the SNES & Genesis ports of MK 3 due to memory limitations. Extra limbs on characters are a BITCH to animate- ironically, the Stop-Motion approach used for the Shokan in the Digitized Graphics Era is actually the easiest way to do it.

Original Kontinuity:
-Sheeva is one of many Shokan- the elite of Outworld society, owing to the high placement of Goro and Kintaro in the armies. However, this faltered by the third battle, in which Shao Kahn used one of the hated Centaurians as his chief general instead. Sheeva was resentful, despite being appointed the protector of the Emperor's wife, Queen Sindel. She was beaten by Kitana & Jade, who were instrumental in stopping the Queen. When Kahn turned on her people, she took revenge against Motaro of the Centaurians, murdering him and ridding the games of his difficult-to-animate body. She hired Kano to assassinate Kahn, but Kano betrayed her and killed her instead, thus getting into the Emperor's good graces. Returning in MK: Armageddon, she is killed by Kenshi.

New Kontinuity:
-Sheeva occupies a similar role in the 2011 series, acting as a generic Mook, guarding prisoners and losing to the B-League heroes. She is drawn MUCH hotter than in other versions, and is the most-complicated-looking character executed in the various Fatalities, which often leave only her upper arms torn off. She appears in the comic book series, engaging in a few schemes- she is actually in charge of Kintaro, and mourns his death when an empowered Sonya Blade rips his head off.

Sheeva's Stats:
-Sheeva is pretty strong, but is a more minor character in the franchise, and is easily the weakest of the three Shokan since she's just a regular charater and not an elite Sub-Boss. She fights like a quicker Powerhouse, but isn't an elite monster. She's PL 9 on offense, PL 8 on defense, and has lesser versions of the Shokan powers.

Yeah..while I do love seeing those silly lesser games get writeups, it's understandable that the bigger games would get more recognition by people!

Though I'm of the opinion that the more fighting games get statted, the better!

Power Instinct I've seen you mention, though it does have a pretty big roster when all the games are taken into consideration.

And if you do Time Killers, I also recommend BloodStorm, made by the same people, and of course more known for having Johnny Cage advertising it than anything else.

HOLY SHIT- I just did some checking, and there are over SEVENTY Tekken characters! Like, almost twice as many as I was expecting. That goes beyond "big roster" and heads straight past "we threw as much shit as we could at the wall to see what stuck. I don't think there's any way on Earth I'll ever stat up that many characters beyond throwing down templates for 90% of them. That's ridiculous.

Oh man- Smash Bros.'s roster is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO huge. I think I've statted most of the characters at some point or another- either with my 5-year old Mario set, or my 2-year old Video Game set (I swear I want to re-post my Mario builds at some point, lol).

Well, the Tekken characters tended to be as much templates as anything else, at least in terms of movesets. Kunumitsu was Yoshimitsu's moveset applied to a slightly different model. Ganryu and Kuma largely borrowed the various Jack moves (themselves largely identical). The various Kings largely shared the same moveset, which was also most of Alex and Roger's moveset. Tekken and Tekken 2 did most of the carbon-copying to inflate their unlockable character count, with the later games doing more to differentiate them.

Yeah. Smash does have like 70 characters itself, though, which is quite insane. Then again, in what other set would you be able to stat the dog from Duck Hunt? I could probably check to see which characters you have statted and come up with the list of remaining guys. It might be rather big, still, though. (And of course, they turned a freaking PIRANHA PLANT into a playable fighter!)

What’s the matter Colonel Sanders?...chicken?!?!?!

Oh sure you’ll stat a bunch of faeries, monster high chicks and two different versions of Pym and you’ll draw the line at Panda and Forrest Law? I never thought I’d see the day...

On the subject of Smash Bros I just found this amazing thing: Someone reaminated a DB Super opening to have Smash characters in it instead.
Be sure to turn on the volume, it has sound. Really wish we could embed vids here.
