"The original Pathfinder was one of the oldest exo-armors in the Jovian military arsenal. A development of the ill-fated EAL-03, the Pathfinder was found to be a rugged if simplistic design, easy to field and maintain. About half of the JAF's exo-armor squadrons were composed of Pathfinders at the time of the Battle of Elysée, and although somewhat fragile by exo-armor standards, they performed admirably despite heavy losses.

Almost immediatly following the Battle of Elysée, an upgrade program was started to rebuild the forces of the JAF. The engineers at JAW reworked the design, reshaping the Pathfinder's complex rounded skin into something that was easier to mass-produce. "The Hermes Aerospace Brimstone is the newest exo-armor to enter service in the ranks of the Mercurian defense force. The machine is the first home-grown exo-armor entirely produced in Mercurian space. It was designed to answer to the needs of both the army and the Merchant Guild, who has ordered the Brimstone to escort its transports. The most prominent characteristic of the Brimstone is its large thrust rating. Its eight main engines, all based on PCC technology, generate enough thrust to propel the craft forward at almost three Earth gravities. "The Syreen was hastily designed to be a stopgap measure to the recent colonial advances in exo-armor technology. Using an old OTV (Orbital Transfer Vehicule) model, CEGA technicians built a legless and crude craft capable of defending itself in hand-to-hand combat as well as carrying anti-ship missiles. Because of the original nature of its propulsion system, the Syreen is capable of high acceleration, but suffers from poor range and maneuverability. The latter was improved by the recent addition of vectoring plates to the main nozzle. These plates need constant attention however, and many technicians complain they are spending too much time on them.

The most amazing piece of equipment is surely the Active Close Defense Laser System (ACDLS for short), a computer-guided, variable range laser array composed of four independently focusing lenses. These serve as the Syreen's main ranged weapon, except when an opponent approaches the Syreen within 25 meters: the computer then automatically takes over and fires at the new threat. This is beginning to cause problems as Syreens sometimes open fire on friendly units, acting on misread IFF signals." -Dream Pod Nine

"The Cerberus is the latest addition to the CEGA arsenal. It has not seen combat yet (at least not officially) although pilots have been assigned to the available machines. The Cerberus is the result of the collaboration of the engineers of CEGA, LAC and a Venusian firm (the name of which remains unrevealed at this time). Conceived as a hunter/killer exo, the Cerberus - unlike the Wyvern - is an entirely new design. The name Cerberus comes from its two massive shoulder pods in which a vast array of ECM and EWAC systems are stored, as are several sensors, scanners and stereoscopic cameras. When these systems are active, the machine seems to have three heads, hence its name.

Since the Cerberus relies more on speed, maneuverability and its hit-and-run attack capacities, its weaponry is reduced. For the first time on a CEGA machine, a plasma lance is incorporated for hand-to-hand combat. The real bite of the Cerberus is its main weapon, a LACM-11 30 mm massdriver rifle that fires depleted uranium-tungsten sabot discarding rounds. I have posted three (3) Jovian Chronicles mecha so far. I was always drawn to the JC setting as it was a "harder" science mixed with an anime feel.
Jovian Chronicles is a science fiction game setting published by Dream Pod 9 since 1992. It introduces a complete universe for role-playing and wargaming space combat, featuring mecha, giant spacecraft and epic space battles.

The setting was originally published as a pair of licensed supplements for the Mekton role-playing game; IANVS Games released the two volumes (Jovian Chronicles and Europa Incident) in 1992. This first edition is known amongst fans as the "Green Edition" because of the color scheme of its cover design.

The key players in the game are the Jovian Confederation and the C.E.G.A. (Central Earth Government and Administration). Its a long story involving over-population of Earth, colonists moving to the stars (namely Jupiter), a domineering Earth Government, and a bunch of colonies that are fighting for their independence. (Sounds familiar :roll: )

As most of the combat / action takes place in space, the mecha are designed for space combat.

* This is my take/conversion of her. She is a classic brawler. She has the Super-Strength ability and also the ability to sense "evil". She knows where evil is and then goes around and beats it to a pulp.

* There are quite a few mega-babes (Fairchild from Gen 13 comes to mind) so this it not a hugely original build, but she does have the flight ability which helps keep her a little different.

As you can see from the logo, I have set my mind to try and stat out Beast Wars Transformers characters. There are so many that I seriously doubt I will get to all of them. I intend to focus on mostly the better know characters and the two Combiner teams. I also hope to do one for each team, switching back and forth.

I have loved Transformers since I first saw them on the television and saw the toys in the stores. I have always liked "giant robot" anime, but Transformers have a special place in my heart.

Beast Wars was a newer line of Transformers that took the idea of "Robots in Disguise", and added the 'animal' twist. The Japanese toy company, TAKARA, made numerous toys for the line in Japan and Hasbro brought us joy here in the US. Alas, some of the first-gen toys were less than thrilling... If anybody remembers the first Optimus Primal -vs- Megatron two-pack, you know what I mean. TAKARA made some really cool builds, including a Woolly Mammoth Optimus Primal.. aka: Mammoth Primal.

The associated advert.. err.. I mean cartoon was computer generated and was fun to watch. The characters had fun personalities and the story was a little convoluted but fun none-the-less. Later in the series, they actually find the Autobots Arc and you see them walking around and over the hybernating Autobots. It showed that Beast Wars characters are more-or-less human sized robots, while the animal forms vary in size. In game terms they are either Normal or Large sized.

I will start with Optimus Primal and then tackle Megatron. (Should be fun)

Here we have the first of my Beast Wars builds. It took me a while since I was not sure how I wanted to build the robot. I did some snooping around and found that there seem to be two distinct build designs for Transformers. I incorporated some ideas for this build but I am still perplexed... One idea has the Transformers as a pure robots that have immunity to FORT / Stamina which makes them more of a machine. I tend to believe that they are so advanced that they are not just machines. This is shown that they grunt and groan in combat and they seem to be able to be stunned.

If anybody can make an arguement for or against one particular build... I'd love to here it. Also, any other feedback.

Three centuries after the end of The Great War, when Maximal and Predacon had risen to replace the Autobots and the Decepticons, one Predacon, in particular, was discontented with the Maximals' control of Cybertron following the Autobot victory in the war. Studying the ancient Cybertronian text called the Covenant of Primus, the Predacon took the name Megatron from a great destroyer of the same name that the book foretold (which may or may not have been also an indirect homage to his namesake, the Decepticon Megatron). Shadow is a covert operations specialist and enjoys moving around and gathering information but if you ask his fellow 'bots, they say he is kinda creepy. Shadow likes to sneak around and gather information, they use this information for his own goals. He also likes to cloak himself with advanced holographic projectors to keep his friends and enemies guessing.

Shadow prides himself on the information that he gains and the ability to use it. If there is a rumor going around, Shadow probably knows it already and has either confirmed or disproved it.

Awesome :)!!! Beast Wars is actually the best Transformers cartoon by a long ways- great voice acting, action, and funny moments. Dinobot and Rat Trap were the BEST!
