He's proven himself a capable and loyal member of the team, but even after ten years, he hasn't given them any more information about himself then the few scraps he did on Day One. However Europa trusts him, unconditionally, and has even passed the leadership of the team to him in her absence.

Wow, very cool! I dig "international superhero teams", and Europe is probably the only continent likely to have all the disparate members work semi-decently with each other. To a point :). I especially like the Totally-Not-A-Space-Marine lady, and the "elder stateswoman" leader. I really like the idea of super-heroines above the Hollywood-style "standard f*ckable age" of most super-women- it's always been silly that the guys could be of any age, but the women are basically not allowed to be over-thirty.

These are great! I love Europa's costume and telepathic stunt names, and Orinflamme's whole concept. And someone in comics who doesn't speak English! Bravo!

Well, Nachtstern is pretty much the Batman and Anioł is pretty much the X-Men’s Angel (she’s literally named “Angel” but in Polish). I tried to make them a little more distinct with their skill sets and personalities. Nachtstern is very espionage focused, Anioł is a techie...

I’m also trying to avoid “Captain Ethnic” stereotypes, which is tricky when designing heroes that are intentionally for an international team and meant to be representatives of their government. Nordmann is the only one who does the “flag as costume” bit, but I figured that avoiding the ‘Scandinavia = Viking’ trap was good enough... and ya gotta have at least one flag-waver on the team.

Europa’s costume is sort of a stylized EU flag, but it’s just an awesome look.

Background
El Vendaval is the a Spanish super-criminal, who stole the serum that gave him his super-speed from a top secret government lab. He was the terror is western Europe's jewelers, art collectors, and casinos for the better part of a decade. Yet, throughout it all, he never actually killed anyone and seemed to go out of his way to avoid even seriously injuring any civilians. When he was finally brought to justice by the WOTAN Network, he was released into their custody instead of sent to prison.

Notes
El Vendaval is the "speedster" on the team, but actually isn't that terribly fast. On the other hand, he brings an aresenal full of weapons and some Shinobi-like skills into the mix, when you combine a Movement of two miles per Move Action with Hide in Plain Sight, Move-By Action, and Flurry of Blows things can get messy. El Vendaval relies heavily on a hit-and-run / death-by-a-thousand-cuts style of combat.

Background:
Giacomo Girolamo Farussi is a mutant with a flair for the theatrical. The scion of one of Italy's wealthiest families (and an indirect descendant of the famed Casanova), Il Mago approaches crime-fighting as an entertainment - both for his own amusement and those of the onlooking public. The NATO directors don't especially care for Il Mago or his lackadaisical attitude, but Europa knows that his outlandish demeanor hides a truly heroic core. When he focuses more on the mission than on showboating, he's an absolute asset to the team.

Notes:
Yep, the guy that can turn invisible is also the guy that wants to be the center of attention. Don't have Il Mago fight like your typical invisibility-user, he's not Invisible Kid or Sue Storm. He should use Taunt and Fascinate to attract notice, use flashy Force Constructs as necessary, and then have the bad guy run over by the invisible semi-truck that they didn't see coming.

Background
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that an old man in a profession where most men die young, must be someone to fear. Madame Curare is very old and very feared indeed.

Born near the turn of the century, eldest daughter of a prominent New England family, Mary Corey had a typical upbringing as a proper young society lady. She attended all the right social functions, mixed with all the right social peers, and was given the sort of well-rounded but utterly useless educations expected of the future wife of a banker, a judge, or maybe even a senator. She loathed every minute of it. While attended Radcliffe College, Corey discovered Taoist philosophy and Asian mythology, she found it fascinating and it was the first thing she'd ever truly enjoyed in her life. She convinced her parents to allow her to travel to the Far East as part of her studies, to learn under the private tutelage of the renowned Dr. Tzin Sing.

Dr. Tzin Sing, as is now known, was the notorious criminal mastermind Dr. Sin. The evil madman used this pathetic American girl as a test subject for one of his life-extending formulas. It worked, but Dr. Sin was unhappy with the results, it rendered the subject an childlike imbecil... But, Sin was a patient man, he had some of his minions attend to Mary Corey and "re-educate" her. Molding her into a living weapon, a fearsome assassin who could operate in the social circles that his Chinese and Japanese agents could not. Mary Corey was dead, but the immortal Madame Curare was born.

Over the decades, Madame Curare has fought alongside Dr. Sin and fought against him. She has fought against the Raven and aided him as well. She's one of the most fearsome assassins alive and willing to work for anyone who can afford her fees. Madame Curare was captured by the second Raven in the late 1990's and has languished in prison ever since. Her once extensive assets were seized, her financial fortune erased, and her string of exotic mansions and hidden safe-houses all exposed.

I'm kind of tempted to steal Madame Curare. I've tried for year to put together a villain for my British hero, the Hood, but the concept never went beyond "omicidal Lara Croft". This is very close to what I had in mind.

Madame Curare was built for Kenseido’s Team Cerebus game; A Suicide Squad meets Freedom City themed campaign. In my mind’s eye, I see a Madame Curare who isn’t under the thumb of a secret government prison having significant ranks of the Wealth Advantage, Contacts, Connected, multiple Headquarters, more weapons, and (of course) a whole plethora of poisons, toxins, drugs, and the like.

But, well, I was building her as a PC so I had to keep to budget. Plus, I imagine that’s not the sort of thing her Suicide Squad-esque handlers would let her have.
