HISTORY
Young Paula Brooks (approximately age 18-19) expressed a fan worship of Paul Kirk, the Manhunter, and so decided to train herself in both the martial arts and as a markswoman, crafting a special crossbow gun that allowed her to fire darts, in the hopes of becoming his partner. She first appeared in the identity of the Tigress during a special exhibition baseball game between the All-Star Squadron and the Young All-Stars, and then later stowed away aboard a plane heading for the Carribean to help the youth auxiliary team rescue Green Lantern and a young Jamaican female orphan from Baron Blitzkrieg. Although Paul Kirk did not accept her as a partner, Paula was given membership as part of the Young All-Stars. During that time, she frequently made a play for "Iron" Munro as well, which at times invoked a rivalry among her fellow teammate Helena Kosmatos (Fury).

In 1949, however, Tex Thompson's lover Joan Dale (Miss America) came to Brooks and Gallant one night with a locked diary that she secreted from Thompson's desk, feeling rather troubled about him. Brooks used a bobby pin to pick the diary's lock, and in it discovered that not only was Tex Thompson actually the Ultra-Humanite, but also that Dynaman was really Adolf Hitler's brain put inside Daniel Dunbar's body prior to its transformation.

At a rally in Washington, D.C. in 1950 where all costumed superheroes were to appear by Presidential decree to show their loyalty, Joan Dale publicly exposed Tex Thompson as being the Ultra-Humanite and attempted to also expose Dynaman as being Adolf Hitler in Daniel Dunbar's body when the Ultra-Humanite had Robert Crane (Robotman) silence her by murdering her in public. Brooks attempted to avenge Dale's death by taking on Robotman in her Tigress identity, but found herself overmatched, though she managed to shoot an arrow into one of his electric eyes. Gallant bravely confronted Robotman alone without using his Captain Triumph abilities to do so, though it cost him his life as he fatally electrocuted both himself and Robotman.

With the love of her life now gone, Brooks returned to her life of crime, though without her masked identity. Retired "mystery man" Johnny Chambers (Johnny Quick) commented that it was only a matter of time before she would end up killing someone. She became the jewel thief Huntress.

As the Huntress, Paula fought Wildcat on several occasions in the late 1940s. She later joined the Injustice Society and married teammate Lawrence "Crusher" Crock, a.k.a. Sportsmaster.

Paula and Crusher's daughter Artemis grew up to become a supervillain herself, eventually becoming the new Tigress.

HISTORY
Artemis Crock is the daughter of the Justice Society villains Paula Brooks (the Tigress and the Huntress) and Lawrence "Crusher" Crock (the Sportsmaster). She has taken up a career in crime, modeled after that of her parents. Initially, she went by the name Artemis, but she later adopted her mother's alias Tigress.

She was trained from an early age, and as such is a very skilled athlete and archer.

The Wizard recruited a number of children of Justice Society villains to form Injustice Unlimited. They attacked a trade conference in Calgary, which was under the protection of the Global Guardians and Infinity, Inc.. By threatening to kill the captured Infinitor Hourman and the mind controlled Guardian Icemaiden, they forced the two teams to cooperate with them. Artemis's part of the deal was simple: freeing her parents. They had created this contingency plan with the Wizard before they were sent to jail, and Artemis was glad to play her part. She took Nuklon and Rising Sun with her to spring them from Empire State Detention Center in New York City. The others had specific targets too; Icicle, Jade and Icemaiden were sent to retrieve Solomon Grundy. But the beast proved impossible to control, and back in Calgary, his violent behavior provided a chance for Infinity, Inc. and the Global Guardians to rebel. Artemis went after Jade, but the beast still had feelings for the Green Lantern's daughter, he intervened. He defeated Artemis by throwing her at her parents. She was arrested, but believed to have escaped shortly after.

The Harlequin gathered part of the team to get rid of Infinity Inc. Harlequin had already killed Skyman with the help of Grundy, and recruited the Dummy to complete the team. Each took a target to take down; Artemis went after Jade, using wooden arrows to hurt her, and a Grundy-shaped piñata full of hydrogen to finish it off. Icicle encased Brainwave in ice. They made it back to the Stellar Studios, where they discovered that all the Infinitors were still alive. Artemis took on Wildcat, but lost. After the fight, the studio grounds were destroyed, and all the villains arrested.

Artemis competed in the Olympic Games for Zandia. Together with Merlyn and his protégé Turk, she formed the archery team. The event was overshadowed by the injury of American star archer Tina Thomas, which led to a large fight in the middle of the arena. Artemis was defeated by Impulse. A day later, the tournament could continue. Another attack was made, this time on Cissie King-Jones, but her mother discovered the true culprit: Paula Crock, Artemis' mother. She feared her daughter was going to lose, and sabotaged the games. Artemis was not happy, and berated her. She did not win any medals.

Artemis was part of Johnny Sorrow's first Injustice Society. They attacked the Brownstone, but were single handedly defeated by Wildcat. They tried again, with better results. Artemis, Icicle and Shiv attacked the Brownstone, and Artemis took down Green Lantern with a bolt crafted from Blackbriar Thorn's wood. She then took on Hawkgirl, and won. She had the hawk at her mercy, but when she wanted to finish her off, she was blasted from behind.

Artemis, Shadow Thief and Copperhead were hired to find a diamond by Kristopher Roderic. For that, they had to track Danny Evans, an assistant curator of the Stonechat Museum, They hunted for him in Punjab, India. This eventually attracted the attention of Hawkman and Hawkgirl. Artemis retrieved the diamond and retreated. She contacted Roderic and asked for a higher price, but Roderic double crossed her, and sent the local army after her. To make it worse, Hawkgirl stole the diamond from her. She made it out, but barely.

Wizard gathered a new Injustice Society, reuniting Artemis with Icicle. Together, they recruited the other members: Rag Doll, Thinker, Gentleman Ghost and Solomon Grundy. They needed to steal the cosmic key from the JSA Brownstone to free Johnny Sorrow. Wizard contacted the Society for backup. The society turned on them, however, and though they freed Sorrow, they lost Rag Doll . Back in their hideout, Artemis was furious at Icicle, who had known someone needed to die to free Sorrow. He felt no pity in the death of Rag Doll, and revealed he only joined because he wanted her back. She forgave him for his earlier mistakes. The rest of the Society was happy with the rebirth of their team, but neither Artemis nor Icicle shared those feelings.

Artemis and Icicle continued their relationship, and she eventually got pregnant. This unnerved Icicle, as his mother had died giving birth to him, and he feared she might be hurt too. He intended to steal a mystical rod that allowed its wielder to become temporarily invulnerable. In their search, they encountered Hourman and Liberty Belle, and had to work together with them to stop Blue Wave. In the end, they let Hourman and Liberty Belle keep the staff as Hourman had been stabbed in the belly (protecting Artemis and her unborn child). But because he made a promise, Hourman stole the staff from its storage and lent it to Artemis so she could give safe birth to a daughter, Isabelle Rose.

- Because EFF Wolverine. That's why.

HISTORY
Brin Londo gains his super powers from experiments conducted on the fictional element Zuunium by his father, Dr. Mar Londo. A jealous android assistant of his father, named Karth Arn, switches identities with Brin, but the plot is eventually revealed when "Lone Wolf" first meets the Legion. He is an early graduate of the Legion Academy. He is thought dead for six months, but is later revealed to have been kidnapped by the villain Tyr (during his captivity his features become more lupine). He has a long-standing romance with fellow Legionnaire Light Lass; they break up due to a misunderstanding when Light Lass finds Timber Wolf embracing Saturn Girl on a frozen asteroid. In the Timber Wolf mini-series, he travels back in time to the late 20th century, where he fights alien invaders before being returned to his home timeline.

In the fourth Legion of Super-Heroes series, Timber Wolf is revealed to have been reduced to a giant and mindless dog-like creature named Furball, by new Legion member Kono. The transformation was caused by Doctor Regulus, who blasted Timber Wolf with a dose of radiation during his attempt to destroy the sun in the unseen storyline "Black Dawn". The Legion hid Brin's identity from most due to a desire to protect his friends from finding out what had become of him; when a young girl named Gemini discovered this, she "rescued" Brin from his teammates as they traveled the galaxy in search of Darkseid (who was holding Gemini's brother hostage). Intrigued by Gemini's kindness towards Brin, Darkseid restored Brin to normal in exchange for Gemini killing Darkseid. Brin returned the Legion as the change from Furball to human was killing him. Near death, Gemini came to him and offered to change history by making it so Brin never was given Zuunium. Instead, they went back in time to the late 20th century and Brin was apparently healed. There he befriended the "New Blood" super-hero Jamm and was experimented on again by mad scientists who sought to create their own "Timber Wolf". The process transformed Brin again, making him physically wolflike (with brownish black skin limited fur on his body) but allowed him to retain his mind. Timber Wolf returned to the future and ultimately reconciled with the Legion.

The mute Furball incarnation appeared in Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds #5, along with various Legionnaires from alternate worlds, to battle the Time Trapper at the end of time.

Reboot
In the Post-Zero Hour reboot, Timber Wolf was introduced in the Legion Worlds miniseries. He appears to come from Rimbor, the home planet of Ultra Boy. He is a rival gang leader to Ultra Boy in this continuity (Ultra Boy led a gang called the Emerald Dragons, Timber Wolf led a gang called the Lone Wolves). There is a love triangle between himself, Ultra Boy and Apparition, as he met Apparition while Ultra Boy was part of the team lost in the Second Galaxy, and formed a strong connection with her. Timber Wolf later realized his feelings for Apparition were only those of a friend, but Ultra Boy remained jealous.

This version of the character had a healing factor. Later, the serum that gave him his powers caused him to mutate into a feral werewolf.

A character named Lupine, who resembled Furball, briefly appeared in an earlier story as a hologram, but due to the creative team changing this was not taken up.

Threeboot
In the 2004 reboot, written by Mark Waid, Timber Wolf appeared originally as an associate of the Legion but subsequently took on full Legion membership. Nothing has been revealed about his origin in this series, ended at issue #50 with several plotlines unresolved. Even if he hasn't shown his wolfen incarnation in this reboot, he's still prone in his human form to violent and vicious outburst of rage, especially when Princess Projectra, for whom he still carries a torch, is threatened. When Projectra, maddened by the loss of her home planet of Orando, begins to blame the whole Legion for her losses, Timber Wolf takes her side, going so far to cover up the savage beating of Phantom Girl at the hands of Princess Projectra, by sneaking around Princess Projectra and anonymously activating Phantom Girl's Legion Ring alarm only when he was sure of Projectra's own safety.

This version of Timber Wolf has all the powers of the former iterations, but despite being fully human, he has some animalistic traits "carried over" to his otherwise humanoid body, like clawed fingernails and slightly elongated canines.

Post-Infinite Crisis retroboot
The events of the Infinite Crisis miniseries have restored a close analogue of the Pre-Crisis Legion to continuity, as seen in "The Lightning Saga" story arc in Justice League of America and Justice Society of America, and in the "Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes" story arc in Action Comics. Timber Wolf is included in the Legion and seemingly reconciled with Lightning Lass.

In the crossover story "The Lightning Saga", Timber Wolf is revealed to be alive in the present, alongside six other members of the Legion. He was discovered in Gorilla City, participating in a race riding velociraptors with no idea who he really is. Only the name "Lightning Lad" (spoken in Interlac) was able to snap his memory back. After completing their "secret" mission in the 21st century, he subsequently returns to his own time along with Dream Girl, Sensor Girl, Dawnstar and Wildfire.

The New 52
In the second Legion Lost series, part of DC's New 52 reboot, Timber Wolf, along with Chameleon Girl, Wildfire, Dawnstar, Tellus, Tyroc, and Gates are trapped in the 21st Century while pursuing a time-travelling genetic terrorist. After exposure to the terrorist's mutagen, Brin's fingernails became hardened, resembling sharp talons which he could expel like projectiles (although not without some pain), regrowing new ones in a matter of seconds.

HISTORY
During the Crisis on Infinite Earths, the Tornado Champion was again separated from his android host body, becoming an air elemental by the Anti-Monitor. The Anti-Monitor used him as a weapon against the combined might of both the Justice League and Society.

After the Crisis, the Red Tornado/Tornado Champion retained his air elemental status and became the personification of a force of nature along with Swamp Thing (as an earth elemental) and Firestorm (as a fire elemental). The Red Tornado, like the Swamp Thing, used his newfound responsibilities to act as a protector and advocate of nature.

Air pollution had an adverse effect on the Red Tornado/Tornado Champion, driving him half-mad and into conflict with Firestorm in The Elemental War. Eventually, Captain Atom and Firestorm calmed him, and Firestorm manufactured a new body shell for Red Tornado. During this time he joined the Leymen, and experienced major malfunctions. As his body malfunctions grew worse, he nearly lost his humanity. Over time, the original Red Tornado personality began to re-emerge, and slowly, his emotions and humanity as well.

HISTORY
Triumph is a superhero who was originally a founding member of the Justice League of America. He was wiped from existence by a time rift when he attempted to sacrifice himself to save the world, and as a result of the self-correcting timestream, was wiped out of everyone's memory, never to be seen or heard from again... until many years later, when time anomalies brought him back into a world which he was rightfully a part of, but had never existed in.

As a child, William MacIntyre lived primarily with his mother, forced to constantly move from town to town. His father, a professional criminal, wasn't around very often. Triumph was never able to develop any real friendships with those around him, and developed into an immensely intelligent and analytical introvert, who had a lot of time on his hands.

At puberty, he began developing superpowers. He exhibited control over the electromagnetic spectrum, allowing him an immense diversity of different abilities. He decided to become a superhero, and dedicated his life towards preparing himself for such a career. He immersed himself in the creation of Triumph, the identity he had recreated for himself.

When Earth was invaded by aliens, he had already been in preparation for a long time. He rallied other heroes of the world, Superman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter and Black Canary, enlisting them to work together and save the world. They were the Justice League of America. Triumph's team fell apart very quickly. Although his planning had been solid, his leadership suffered from his tendency to use people more as pawns than as teammates. Ultimately, he was forced to sacrifice himself to save the Earth, by attacking the Aliens' energy weaponry directly, charging up with more electromagnetic powers than he had ever been able to use before. A rift in time tore him from the universe, and the self-correcting timestream wiped him from having ever existed. The heroes he had brought together were left with no memory of any contact with him, and was trapped in inter-dimensional stasis for over a decade.

During Zero Hour, when waves of cosmic entropy shook the foundations of the very timeline itself, Triumph was finally released, and felt ready to retake his position as one of the original heroes of the world. He was sorely disappointed to find that there was no record left of him at all, and even his close friends, allies and colleagues believed they had never seen them before in their lives. As he was returned to reality, so were the alien invaders he had been trapped with. He was able to convince the skeptical Justice League International to help him combat the invaders in Washington, D.C., although he immediately suffered the same problems with teamwork that had led to him being trapped in the first place. He concentrated too much on his own plans over the people he had been using to help him, and the League, already disheveled from earlier crises, was almost defeated by the Aliens. Triumph was only able to overcome the threat when Martian Manhunter helped him realize and overcome his own failings, using diplomacy as a strategy in tandem with his fighting tactics.

Triumph helped in the fight against Parallax during Zero Hour, and in the aftermath, as the League began to reform itself, was offered a position on Martian Manhunter's new Justice League Task Force, which he eagerly accepted. He served a long tenure on the team, but was eventually kicked off by Martian Manhunter for insubordination, as he would regularly disobey or refuse to consult others. During Underworld Unleashed, the demon Neron offered him a deal, to trade the precious lost years of is life on Earth for his soul. Although he refused the offer, he was left with a candle, which he could light at any time to signify that he wished to make the deal. Later, Gypsy and the Ray unwittingly lit the candle by accident. Triumph gets the decade back and was never a member of Justice League Task Force but discovers that the world is exactly the same and his absence made no difference at all, which can be explained as the beginning of Triumph's descent towards evil.

Triumph came under the influence of a malign Thunderbolt named Lkz similar to the one possessed by golden age Justice Society member Johnny Thunder. Triumph mind-controlled his former Justice League Task Force teammates Gypsy and the Ray, striking at the newly reformed JLA. The combined forces of the JSA and JLA were required to stop the rampaging Thunderbolt and subdue Triumph. Eventually, the Spectre transformed Triumph into ice and prepared to smash him with a hammer, but was stopped by a plea from the angel Zauriel. His ice form was stored in the Justice League headquarters, and he was killed when it was blown up.

When the world was fundamentally altered by Morgaine le Fey and Enigma during the events of Trinity, Triumph reappears in the new timeline as a member of the Justice Society International. A true hero in a world where Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman never existed, Triumph fights to help restore the reality that should be, knowing full well that it will mean his death. He finds camaraderie in Tomorrow Woman, who faces the same fate. He was mortally wounded during a fight with the Dark Arcana, and apparently succumbed to his injuries and died shortly before the world could be returned to what it had been.

- From the Wiki: Donna Troy, alias Wonder Girl was created to be a playmate for the young Wonder Woman by the sorceress Magala, who used a magical mirror to create a duplicate of Diana, though with her own personality. She was abducted by Dark Angel who mistook her for the real Diana, and cursed her to experience a cycle of countless tragic lives, given the name Donna Troy as a cruel joke to her origins. But it would not be until the intervention of Wonder Woman, Hippolyta, and the Flash years later that she would learn this.

In one of the lives she ended up living, Donna was orphaned by her birth mother, Dorothy Hinckley, a dying unwed teen who had given her up for adoption. After Donna's adoptive father Carl Stacey was killed in a work-related accident, her adoptive mother Fay Stacey gave her up for adoption again, unable to raise the toddler because of mounting expenses. Donna remembered being rescued from a fire by the goddess Rhea who, being one of the mythological Titans, brought her to New Cronus and raised her as one of twelve Titan Seeds, orphans from various planets who would have died if Rhea had not saved them. Each one was given the name of a place that worshiped the Titans, and Donna was given the last name of Troy in homage to the ancient city. She was returned to Earth at age thirteen, where her memories of New Cronus were erased until such a time that she would return and take her place among the Seeds as gods.

When Donna experienced having superhuman powers and abilities, she adopted the identity of Wonder Girl. Donna became one of the founding members of the Teen Titans, even suggesting the name of the group from a residual memory. She later returned to New Cronus and from that point on adopted the new identity of Troia.

She married Terry Long, a college professor, and soon became pregnant. This incited the Team Titans group from the future to confront her, claiming that her son would threaten the future as Lord Chaos. Donna voluntarily gave up her powers to prevent this. She later requested for her powers to be returned but was denied. She was inducted into the Darkstars and rejoined the Teen Titans as a Darkstar. Terry later divorced Donna citing that her superhero role put the family in danger and gained sole custody of their son. She turned to teammate Kyle Rayner for comfort, but left him after Terry, Robert and Jenny Long, (Terry's daughter from his first marriage) were killed in a tragic car accident.

The tragedy caused Dark Angel to appear and make Donna start anew with a totally different life, causing everyone but Hippolyta and Wally West to forget her existence as the Donna Troy who became Wonder Girl and Troia. Together with Diana of Paradise Island, Hippolyta and Wally helped restore the life of Donna Troy, breaking her out of the curse that Dark Angel had bound her to. She was then adopted as a daughter of Hippolyta. Consequently, Hippolyta decreed that Donna, as her daughter, would be granted the privilege of a royal station and a title. As such, a coronation was held and Donna was thereafter referred to as Princess Donna among the Amazons.

An android named Indigo appeared, badly damaged and in need of repair. In her attempts to repair herself and call for aid from other androids, she caused a Superbot to go rogue during a meeting of the Teen Titans and Young Justice; Donna and Omen were killed during the attempts to stop it.

Donna Troy had discovered that, like every other person after the destruction of the multiverse, she was an amalgam of every alternate version of Donna Troy in the former realities. Unlike everyone else, Donna was the repository of knowledge of every alternate universe version of herself. She learned that her counterpart on Earth-Two was saved by a firefighter and raised in an orphanage, while her Earth-S counterpart died in the fire. She also discovered that her sworn enemy of the past, Dark Angel, was in fact the Donna Troy of Earth-Seven, saved from certain death by the Anti-Monitor, just like the Monitor had saved Harbinger. When the parallel realities were condensed into one, Dark Angel, who had somehow escaped the compression of every Donna Troy into one single person on the new Earth, sought to kill her. Every life she forced Donna to relive was in fact an aspect of an alternate Donna, as a way to avoid the merging and remain the last one standing. When she was defeated, Donna became the real sum of every Donna Troy that existed on every Earth, a living key to the lost Multiverse.

Donna had been reborn after her death at the hands of the Superman android. The Titans of Myth, realizing that she was the child who was destined to save them from some impending threat, brought her to New Cronus and implanted false memories within her mind to make her believe she was the original Goddess of the Moon and wife of Coeus. The Titans of Myth incited war between other worlds near New Cronus in order to gain new worshippers. They used the combined power of their collective faith to open a passageway into another reality, where they would be safe from destruction. Donna was another means to that end, until she was found by the Titans and The Outsiders who restored her true memories. This was not without casualties, however. Sparta, who was restored to full mental health and stripped of the bulk of her power, had been made an officer in the Titans of Myth's royal military. She was sacrificed by the Titans of Myth in an attempt to lay siege to the planet, Minosyss, which housed a Sun-Eater factory miles beneath its surface. Sparta's death had inadvertently helped trigger Donna's memory restoration. Athyns had also reappeared by this time, and aided the heroes and the Mynossian resistance in battling the Titans of Myth. It was then that Hyperion, the Titan of the Sun, revealed Donna's true origins to her and ordered her to open a passageway into another reality by means of a dimensional nexus that once served as a gateway to the Multiverse itself, within the Sun-Eater factory's core. This turned out to be the Titans of Myth's real target. Donna did so, but fearing they would simply continue with their power-mad ambitions, she banished most of them into Tartarus. However, Hyperion, and his wife Thia, were warned of the deception at the last moment. Enraged, they turned on Donna, intending to kill her for the betrayal, but Coeus activated the Sun-Eater to save her and Arsenal. As the Sun-Eater began absorbing their vast solar energies, Hyperion and Thia tried to escape through the Nexus, but they were both torn apart by the combined forces of the Nexus' dimensional pull and the Sun-Eater's power. Coeus, who had learned humility and compassion from Donna, vowed to guard the gateway to make certain the other Titans of Myth remained imprisoned forever. After this, Donna gained all knowledge of her alternate selves and was entrusted with the Universe Orb by Harbinger.

Donna led a group of heroes to New Cronus to deal with a rip in space caused by Alexander Luthor, attacking him through the rift. The team suffered loss, including the death of Jade and several others who went missing. Donna also procured a "red sun eater" in order to defeat Superboy-Prime. Afterwards, Donna returned to New Cronus where she analyzed the history of the universe as it had been recorded in Harbinger's old Universe Orb.

Donna Troy assumed the mantle of Wonder Woman. Diana stepped down, feeling the need to "find out who Diana is". In the midst of a fight with Cheetah and Giganta, Donna was overwhelmed when Doctor Psycho manipulated her into believing that Diana was attacking her with deadly force. At the same time, Diana, posing as a government agent, arrived on the scene. Circe is behind the attacks and capture.

Donna worked alongside ex-boyfriend Kyle Rayner, who had taken up the powers and title of Ion again. They fought against one of the Monitors who attempted to remove them from the newly rebuilt time-stream, claiming the two were unwanted anomalies. Donna returned to earth with Ion in time for him to say good-bye to his dying mother.

Donna later joined several former Teen Titans in their battle against Deathstroke and his Titans East team.

Donna soon after attended Duela Dent's funeral with the Teen Titans. After the burial, she was confronted by Jason Todd, who sought her out as a kindred spirit. She repeatedly ran into the helpful Jason while trying to investigate Duela's murder. Her investigation was put on hold once she discovered the Amazons had invaded Washington, D.C. She travelled to the city and confronted the recently revived Hippolyta to put a stop to the invasion. The Amazon Queen informed her that she would consider a withdrawal, only if Donna could include Diana in the peace talks, Donna left to find her sister, discovering that Jason Todd had followed her to Washington as well. Jason told Donna that he believed the Monitors were responsible for Duela's death, but before anything else could be done, both warriors were attacked by the Monitor's aide, Forerunner. They were consequently saved by the seemingly benevolent "Bob," and recruited to help locate Ray Palmer. Their journey took them across the expanse of the new Multiverse, whereupon they were also joined by Donna's former boyfriend, Green Lantern as well as Ray Palmer's successor Ryan Choi. This loose confederation of adventurers became known as the Challengers from Beyond. After several haphazard missions in the Nanoverse, they eventually found Palmer in the parallel reality known as Earth-51. Shortly thereafter, their colleague Bob the Monitor betrayed them, and Earth-51 was destroyed as a result of the Morticoccus Virus. With Palmer in tow, the Challengers eventually returned to their home dimension. Donna, Ray and Kyle agreed that with the growing individuality of the fifty-two existing Monitors, there was too much room for corruption. They all agreed to serve as a watchdog group in order to "Monitor the Monitors".

Returning to Earth, Donna reunited with her old teammates the Titans. The group reformed after discovering that the children of one of their deadliest foes, Trigon, had been systematically hunting down members, both old and new.

Donna had a horrific encounter with her deceased son Robert and husband Terry, revived as undead beings in the Black Lantern Corps. She was bitten by Robert, becoming "infected" by the Black Lantern's power. Donna, along with Superboy, Kid Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) and several other resurrected heroes, were targeted by Nekron, the being responsible for the Black Lanterns. Donna's previous deaths made her vulnerable to the Black Rings. However, unlike the other heroes, Donna was converted by being infected with the Black Lantern's power rather than having a ring forced on her.

Donna Troy became part of the new Justice League's lineup, along with Mon-El, Batman, and Hal Jordan.

Her recruitment began when she volunteered to help Mikaal Tomas and Congorilla track down the supervillain Prometheus. She accompanied them to the JLA Watchtower alongside Starfire and Animal Man, only to discover that Red Arrow had been mutilated by Prometheus. During the ensuing battle, Donna was impaled through the wrists, but freed herself, taking down Prometheus after he defeated the rest of the team. Unfortunately, the villain destroyed Star City via a teleportation device.

In the aftermath, Donna was told by Wonder Woman that she could benefit from being a part of the JLA. To that end, she officially joined the team, even recruiting Cyborg and Starfire as well.

HISTORY
Miya Shimada was born a nisei — a Japanese-American born in the United States of native Japanese parents. She was thus a full American citizen and grew up in Santa Barbara, California.

The racial prejudice against Japanese-Americans that Miya encountered during the start of World War II caused her to turn against America. She went to Japan to study for a few years and there she joined the cause of the Imperial Japanese government. It was the famed Japanese naval commander Admiral Yamamoto who named Miya Shimada "Tsunami" (the Japanese word for "tidal wave") after her mental power to create and control such waves.

In early 1942, after the United States had entered the war against Japan, Tsunami was secretly brought to California by a Japanese submarine and she sought to convince Japanese-Americans to join Imperial Japan's cause. Tsunami soon found herself battling Liberty Belle and Starman of the All-Star Squadron, and when her father was seemingly killed in the skirmish, Tsunami went berserk but failed to defeat them and departed instead.

Shortly afterwards, Tsunami was summoned by Japan's Prince Daka to assist him in stealing Starman's powerful gravity rod. She again clashed with members of the All-Star Squadron but was appalled by Daka's ruthlessness and lack of honor. She found herself instead respecting the All-Stars and decided she could no longer side with Daka. Yet she was not yet ready to align with the Americans either, and she fled again.

One more time, the Axis powers attempted to recruit Tsunami, but by this time she had reflected upon and felt remorse for her actions. She declined an invitation by the German villain Sea Wolf to join the Axis Amerika and afterwards became depressed and contemplated suicide. At a critical moment, she met another undersea hero, Neptune Perkins, who convinced her to try another path. Together they approached Green Lantern for his help to end the imprisonment of Japanese Americans.

Green Lantern took the two to meet the Squadron. Miya pled her case to the day's assembly, which also included President Roosevelt. FDR pledged to look into the matter of the detention camps then suggested that Tsunami and her new young friends travel the country on a cross-country war bond tour. She and the others were all given provisional membership in the All-Star Squadron and set off.

Some, like Sandy found it difficult to accept a former adversary, but Perkins was always ready to defend her. On one of their first stops, Miya came under attack by prejudiced bystanders in Los Angeles. The group helped her find her family in a nearby camp, where she elected to stay until they could be freed. She was soon forced to leave the camp when she learned that Axis Amerika and her former ally, Kamikaze, had attacked.

Naturally, Miya grew close to Neptune Perkins during this time, after the war they raised a daughter named Debbie Perkins (Deep Blue), who was actually fathered by Atlan and therefore is Aquaman's half sister.

HISTORY:
Jo Nah aka Ultra Boy, hales from the planet Rimbor, is a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes possessing a multitude of powers. However, due to physical limitations, he is only capable of using one of these powers at a time.

He was born on the seedy world of Rimbor and ran with a gang called the Emerald Dragons. Jo was traveling in his Space-speedster when he was swallowed by an Energy-Beast, giant whale like creatures. They will eat any life-form that happens to fall in their path. Luckily a Galactic Patrol Cruiser saw this and rescued him by slicing the creature open with a ray.

Jo Nah escaped, but his body was charged by the radiation of the beast. He discovered that he could see through anything, even lead. Jo Nah now had various powers, but he could only use it for one super-power at a time. He decided to use these abilities to help law enforcement, earning him the name Ultra Boy and a recommendation to join the Legion of Super-Heroes.

As part of his initiation, Jo Nah traveled with Marla Latham to the 20th Century to learn Superboy's secret identity. Upon success, Ultra Boy was inducted into the team.

He is romantically involved with fellow Legionnaire Phantom Girl. The two began a long-term romance shortly thereafter. Jo Nah often worked alongside Mon-El and Superboy as the Legion's Big Three for their power levels and Jo was once possessed by the spirit of Nero because of it.

Jo Nah later served two terms with the team as the leader. Following his stint as leader, Jo Nah was on the run a second time when he was framed in the murder of his ex-girlfriend, An Ryd. Jo Nah managed to find the real killer, Pulsar Stargrave, but was defeated and believed dead by his hand. In actuality, Jo Nah had been blown through time all the way back to the 20th Century

He found Superboy and merged minds with him to become Reflecto and returned to the 30th Century. Jo Nah campaigned again for a time as leader but lost and became the deputy to Dream Girl. The coalition did not work and the Jo Nah quit.

CONTACTS: Initiative, Justice, New Warriors

HISTORY:
Little is known of the origins and childhood of Tsu-Zana, and even her origin is unprecised: She is stated to be a only half Human and to be a Kree mutant.

She was seemingly brought to Earth, or born there, and protected by a community of pink-skinned Kree composed of Ahmbra, Bheton, Madame Singhre, Dandre and Zenna. It was said in the Kree writings that Tsu-Zana was to be the Ultimate Unifier, so she could eventually restore glory to the Kree Empire, by defeating both Shi'ar and blue-skinned Kree.

Because of this, she wasn't informed of her origin or powers, and was raised in California by her "father" Toby Sherman, and her "mother", in order to hide into the human society. The Kree kept an eye on her, Ahmbra taking the identity of Amber and befriending with her, and Bheton the one of the Dr. Singer. At some point Suzy's parents divorced.

In her teen years, Suzy was struggling model in L.A.. Although she was initially accepted for interviews because of her portfolio photos, she had rapidly developed extra weight and muscle in a short time due to her developing power. As a result, she was rejected for being too "buff".

At an audition, Suzy was suddenly attacked by a Sentinel, a left-over minion from Onslaught. The Sentinel revealed that she was actually a mutant Kree, temporary classifying her as a "V Factor Mutant".

Reporters who saw the fight between Suzy and the Sentinel ran to interview her. During the interview she kept using the exclamation "Ultra", which led to the press dubbing her "Ultragirl". Suzy began to receive endorsements, and thought that being Ultragirl was her ticket to stardom, so she and her friends designed a costume from sports apparel she had received from past modeling jobs. Amber tried to convince her to abandon the superhero idea, in order to keep low-profile, but Ultragirl was set on it.

Acting against a forest-fire, she ended up fighting against the villain Effex, responsible of those fire. Alongside the New Warriors, as LAPD support.

After a mission with the Warriors, Amber invited Suzy to met the Kree community, revealing her true name and origin, and asking to her to leave her superhero career to keep low-profile, as to not draw attention to the Kree and Shi'ar, and soon serve as the Kree messiah but she refused.

The Warriors and Ultragirl defeated Effex, Suzy killing him accidentally. She was offered membership into the Warriors by Justice, but jealous Firestar denied this proposition, saying that the team roster was already full. She was later taking intel on the Kree from the Sentinel who had attacked her, now reduced to a head called Source.

Some time later, Ultragirl and Slapstick joined the New Warriors in stopping a Badoon invasion. Afterward both were made members of the Warriors.

The distinction of working with the New Warriors came to haunt her, as the team were blamed for an explosion in Stamford which caused the death of hundreds of people, including children. Ultragirl was one of the New Warriors whose civilian identities were publicly outed on an Anti-New Warriors website. Teaming with the remaining Warriors and She-Hulk, they shut down the website and discovered it was in fact run by former Warrior, Hindsight.

The Stamford disaster led to the Superhuman Registration Act to be passed. Ultra-Girl became a member of Captain America's Secret Avengers. She was among the super-heroes who rescued Captain America during Tony Stark and Steven Rogers' private meeting to make one more attempt at settling their differences. After the end of the war, she decided to comply with the Act.

Ultragirl became a trainee of the Initiative at Camp Hammond. Ultragirl was injured while fighting the forces of HYDRA. She later accompanied Rage, Hardball, Cloud 9, Komodo, Triathlon, Thor Girl, and Slapstick to fight the Hulk. She and Justice started a relationship.

When the other former New Warriors decided to quit the Initiative, Ultragirl instead returned to Camp Hammond to complete her training. With her Initiative training complete, she and Thor Girl were assigned to Georgia, with Ultragirl wearing a new costume: Carol Danvers' original Ms. Marvel outfit, given to Suzy by Carol as a graduation present.

Ultra Girl was ordered to hand over her Ms. Marvel costume, as Norman Osborn has secured the rights to the name and likeness, and was planning to create a new Ms. Marvel. When the deranged Thor clone Ragnarok attacked the Initiative, Justice and Counter Force (then calling themselves "New Warriors") arrived to stop them, and Ultra Girl, wearing her old costume, saved Justice from one of Ragnarok's deadly attacks. When Justice unearthed the original MVP's body, wanting to give it a proper burial, Ultra Girl joined him and his team in leaving the Initiative.

She was one of the many applicants for nanny to Luke Cage and Jessica Jones' daughter, Danielle Cage.

History:
Ultra-Humanite was Superman's first recurring nemesis during the Golden Age, even ahead of Luthor. He was one of the greatest criminal geniuses ever. Unfortunately for him, while the energies of his mind continued to develop and expand, even developing low level mind energy techniques such as telepathy, his physical brain interface never advanced. Unable to contain the mental energies, his body began slowly burning out. Thus in his early career, he was a small, elderly, crippled scientist, who fought Superman using his intellect, inventions, and numerous front men and stooges.

The Ultra-Humanite's signature achievement is transferring his consciousness into other bodies. He is the fourth mad medical scientist, in a DC comic book, to transplant a human brain into another live body.
  • The first was Roskoffin, in New York City.
  • The second was Doctor Kichung, in coastal China.
  • The third was Herbert Handers, in Mexico.
But Ultra-Humanite was the first to use a live human receptacle for the transplanted brain; his three predecessors all moved human brains into live apes.

The human subject of Ultra-Humanite's first (known) human-to-human brain transplant was a well-known movie actress.
It was in the body of actress Dolores Winters that the Ultra-Humanite committed many of his most ambitious and memorable crimes. The Ultra-Humanite selected Dolores Winters' body as, in that era, most male police would not suspect a woman, let alone a recognized public figure, to be an active criminal mastermind. The Ultra-Humanite continued to use Winters' body as his base until he was forced to seek out the next victim to house his super-powered brain. In Winters' form, he fought the All-Star Squadron while in collusion with his own future self; later, in a new and more monstrous form, he clashed with the Young All-Stars.

TALENTS: Acrobatics, Animal Handling, Engineer, Martial Arts: A, Medicine, Physics, History, Chemistry, Computers. Electronics, History, Mathematics, Robotics

CONTACTS: Injustice Gang, Secret Society of Supervillains

HISTORY:
Over decades of super villainy, Ultra-Humanite improved his own technology and techniques, in medicine and many other fields, until he attained the ability to transfer his consciousness directly, without surgery, into other bodies. For several years he simply moved himself from one human victim to another, but in the long run, this was unsustainable. His human bodies' endurance time became less and less, as his mental-energy generation continued to advance, burning out the bodies at ever-faster speeds. Tiring of having to change over to new bodies in an almost ever decreasing time, the Ultra-Humanite re-developed an albino gorilla, originally from Gorilla City [citation needed] to be able to house his super-brain and abilities. He then transferred his consciousness into this giant albino mutant gorilla, which affords him incredible strength and durability.

In this body, the Ultra-humanite has been able to use his mind powers to ever increasing effects. He re-formed the Secret Society of Super Villains and used them to attack both the Justice Society of America and the Justice League of America. These supervillains were defeated and banished to an interdimensional limbo, while the Ultra-Humanite escaped, with the assistance of his earlier self from 1941. Both versions of this monster then teamed up, in 1942, and launched an attack on the wartime All-Star Squadron. This mad scheme was thwarted by the interference of the time traveling members of Infinity, Inc.. Back in the modern era, the older, more powerful Ultra-Humanite attempted to destroy the Justice Society of America again, but was again defeated following Infinity, Inc.'s intervention, and at the end of this clash, he apparently lost his mental powers for a time.

Certain aspects of the Humanite's early history were altered by the events of the Crisis on Infinite Earths, notably the removal of the original Superman from the timeline; in this revised history, the Ultra-Humanite apparently first clashed with the All-Star Squadron and later became a recurring foe of the JSA. Much of his later life, however, appears to have been relatively unchanged. Some time after his initial clash with Infinity, Inc. he came under the mental domination of alien spore creatures but was released by Infinity, Inc. and the New Teen Titans. Later, he clashed with the JSA again following their return to action, after creating for himself a powerful new humanoid body (he kept the white ape as a "pet", having apparently transferred an ordinary gorilla's brain into it).

At some point behind-the-scenes, the Humanite transferred his brain into the body of Johnny Thunder of the JSA, and took possession of the pen that activates the Thunderbolt. The villain used the djinn to rejuvenate his host body and create a world dictatorship, with futuristic cities, and the vast majority of the meta-human population under suspended animation. He was again defeated, and shortly afterwards was apparently killed by the Crimson Avenger, who shot his brain to pieces. He is, however, notoriously difficult to kill.

LIMITATION:

CONTACTS: CSA; Super Woman

HISTORY:
Ultraman was born into the partially "reversed" universe of Earth-Three. Similar to the story of Superman, was sent from the planet Krypton to Earth-Three where he first encountered Kryptonite in outer space which began to change him into a superpower house of vast powers and abilities. Upon his arrival on Earth-Three, the boy grew up developing new powers every time he encountered Kryptonite. Upon reaching adulthood, he renamed himself Ultraman and began a life of conquest and destruction. It would be during his conquering that he encountered four other superpowered beings who would all loosely gather together in various schemes to dominate their world and become the Crime Syndicate of America.

It would be after largely conquering most of their world that Ultraman developed a new type of supervision that allowed him to see into Earth-One dimension. Seeking an open battle to test their powers after defeating the military forces of their native Earth-Three, the Crime Syndicate challenged the combined forces of the Earth-One Justice League of America and Earth-Two Justice Society of America. Not able to withstand the combined might of two Earths greatest superbeings, the Crime Syndicate was defeated and imprisoned in an extra-dimensional bubble created by the Earth-One Green Lantern. Over a period of time, the Crime Syndicate members escaped.

It would be on one of these periods between ruling and imprisonment that Ultraman was recruited by the extra-dimensional Alexei Luthor of Earth-Two and Lex Luthor of Earth-One who sought to destroy their native Earths and rule Earth-Three as their new base of operations in their attempt to completely defeat their respective Supermen. Ultraman directly fought and defeated both Superman of Earth-Two and the Superman of Earth-One who were brought to Earth-Three by Alexander Luthor, Sr. as his body was directly powered by the very source that depowered both Supermen. Seeing that the Supermen could not directly take on Ultraman and defeat him, Alexander Luthor, Sr. directly entered the fight after donning superpowered armor. Tricking Ultraman into thinking himself unable to directly fight the infinitely powered Ultraman, Luthor was able to get close enough to Ultraman to dephase Ultraman into an intangible state and allow the Supermen of Earth-One and Earth-Two to recover from Ultraman's Kryptonite powered attack.

After being defeated by Luthor, Ultraman was once again imprisoned. But Ultraman and the Crime Syndicate were able to routinely escape as shown when the Ultra-Humanite and his new time-traveling band of the Secret Society of Super-Villains. Ultraman and the others would battle against Luthor, Sr. and other heroes on many occasions who would routinely defeat Ultraman and the other members of the Crime Syndicate.

This basic stalemate of almost endless escape and imprisonment would continue until the antimatter wave attack of the Anti-Monitor came to Earth-Three during the Crisis on Infinite Earths. Unable to stop the antimatter wave that was destroying Earth-Three, Ultraman and the other members of the Crime Syndicate teamed up with Luthor, Sr. in an attempt to stop the attack. Seeing that his infinite powers were unable to stop the wave, Ultraman decided to attack the wave head on after stating to the helpless Power Ring that 'I do what I always do...I'll fight to the end.'

He along with everyone else native to their dimension died in the attack and were completely erased from all history with the reset of the single surviving universe, except for the Superman of Earth-Two and Alexander Luthor, Jr. who remembered Ultraman and his world.

HISTORY:
Kal-Il is the last Kryptonian of his universe and the vicious leader of the Crime Syndicate.

Born on Krypton, through the machinations of his father Jor-Il, a mysterious being came to the planet and began a process that would lead to its destruction. Thanks to a shooting spree, Jor-Il was able to secure a life pod for his son, whom he regarded as his best chance of revenge.

Rocketing to Earth, Kal-Il was inundated with ideology and moralizing, warning him to be the strongest possible being, eschewing all weakness in himself and in others. His rocket crash-landed in Smallville, Kansas, right through the roof of the home of Johnny and Martha Kent. Kal-Il gained power from the Kryptonite and forced the couple to be his parents, staying with them until he was seven years old, at which point he killed them and burned their farm to the ground. Over the following years, Kal-Il took the name Ultraman and began his pursuits of taking over Earth by murdering the President of the United States and forming the Crime Syndicate. During this time, Ultraman had a dysfunctional relationship with his teammate Superwoman. Unknown to him, Superwoman had a secret affair with Owlman.

Unfortunately for Ultraman and the Crime Syndicate, their stranglehold over the planet was pried loose by the arrival of the being who destroyed Earth just as it had destroyed Krypton. At that same moment, the fabric between universes was weakened by the actions of another powerful being on another universe, thus he, along with the rest of the members of the Crime Syndicate, sought to escape to that other universe and were trapped in an inter-dimensional Limbo for five years, with only Alfred and Atomica successfully crossing. Going by The Outsider, Alfred created the Secret Society of Super-Villains which manipulated the heroes of that universe into reaching him the Pandora's Box in order to open it, allowing the Crime Syndicate to finally enter the Prime universe.

After disposing the Justice League and their allies, the Crime Syndicate declared Prime Earth their's and forced some of the native villains into joining them, in which Ultraman enforced their legitimacy by killing Monocle when the latter claimed that the Crime Syndicate was simply the Justice League in disguise. Noticing the rising sun, Ultraman moved the Earth's moon in front of the sun to eclipse the Crime Syndicate's section of Earth in order to protect himself from the sun's rays. Once settled, Ultraman and his Syndicate were making their plans when Grid informed him of the uprising in Kahndaq. Before leaving, he took a look at their prisoner to which Alfred informed that was sedated and thus harmless. Owlman wondered why they just don't kill him to which Ultraman replied that they may need him against the destroyer of their world, sustaining his claim even with Superwoman agreeing with Owlman.

On his way to Kahndaq, Ultraman took a detour to The Daily Planet where he threatened its staff members in order to "test" them. When confronted by that world's version of Lois Lane, Ultraman realized that she is not the same Lois he knows and he told her that he wanted to get rid of Superwoman for a long time but that would leave him without a suitable mother for his child, but now that he found this Lois he can do whatever he wants with her. Before Ultraman could do anything to her, Black Adam arrived and battled him, but was nonetheless defeated by Ultraman. Arriving to Kahndaq, he forcefully took Metallo's Kryptonite heart to strengthen himself when he was approached by Superwoman who revealed him her pregnancy. After overhearing Owlman talking to Nightwing about his plan to take down Ultraman, Superwoman tells him that Owlman will eventually betray the Syndicate and that he has to stay strong for their unborn child, but Ultraman stated that he stays strong only for himself and no one else.

When Power Ring was killed by Sinestro, his ring sent vibrations through the Multiverse which drawn the attention of the one who destroyed the Syndicate's world, prompting Ultraman and his team to prepare in anticipation of the incoming threat. As they prepared for the threat, the Injustice League, led by Lex Luthor took this opportunity to attack them and inadvertently freed the Syndicate's prisoner and enemy Alexander Luthor, who intended to kill the Crime Syndicate.

As the surviving members of the Syndicate tried to stop the now free Mazahs, Superwoman chose this time to reveal to her teammates that she had been working with Mazahs for all this time, as he is her lover and the real father of her unborn child, saying she chose Mazahs because he is stronger than Ultraman. An enraged Ultraman fought Mazahs, regretting not killing him when he had the chance before tiring from lack of Kryptonite and deciding to let the Injustice League finish him off. After Alex Luthor is killed and Superwoman took out, Ultraman attacked Luthor and nearly kills him, but Sinestro and Black Adam removed the eclipse Ultraman created and thereby weakened him with sunlight. After being humiliated by Lex, Ultraman begged him to kill him but Lex refused, saying that he will let him stay this way, knowing he is the weakest man on the planet in body and mind. Ultraman was eventually imprisoned by the Justice League.

Ultraman was later set free from his imprisonment by the combined efforts of Cyborg and Power Ring, (who had both been possessed by Grid and Volthoom, respectively), to enlist his help in defeating Mobius, also known as the Anti-Monitor, who was the same being that destroyed Ultraman's Earth. Ultraman was then given a chunk of Kryptonite to eat by the Justice League to empower him in the battle against Mobius.[10] Ultraman later viciously assaulted Mobius, landing several punches all the while explaining how he would brutally kill him. Unfortunately for Ultraman, Mobius proved stronger, and vaporized Ultraman with a concentrated blast of antimatter, killing him.
