Yeah, this thread is great!

I really want to see new DC and Marvel characters statted as well as updating older ones, (like classic Avengers, Defenders, FF, X-Men) and especially those whose old stats seemed off (BW, Gladiator, etc).

Do any of you have House Rule documents you use? At the moment, this has become something of a pastime of mine. I have an opportunity to run the game in a few months, but I'm having fun choosing what things I want to keep RAW and what things need to change.

My particular concerns are:
1) Add some randomness to damage (but only a little)
2) Make some way to make armor somewhat less powerful
3) Consider different ways for advancement
4) Make defensive actions better

HISTORY
Born on September 18, 1940, Daniel Dreiberg was an admirer of birds, gadgets, and of superheroes. Dreiberg's father was a banker who left him a large inheritance, which he used to design and build his crime-fighting gear. Hollis Mason, the original Nite Owl, was his hero and when he retired, Dan wrote to Mason, asking if he could carry on his name. Upon looking at his gear, Mason was too impressed to refuse, and gave Dan the greenlight to start fighting crime in the 1960s. From then, the two men became friends, and met every Saturday at Hollis' house.

In 1965, Dreiberg (as Nite Owl) successfully debuted and teamed up with fellow costumed adventurer Rorschach to take on organized crime. He supported the idea of costumed vigilantes forming a group to fight crime strategically, but Ror-schach and the Comedian rejected the idea. Having already come to understand that his expensive activities were too limited in scope to make any real difference, Dreiberg retired after the passing of the Keene Act on August 3, 1977, although in 1985 he seems to regret his decision to give up crime fighting. Rorschach would later say regarding his retirement, "No staying power." When not fighting crime, Dreiberg mastered in aeronautics and zoology at Harvard University, contributing scholarly articles to ornithological journals after his retirement in 1977.

Dreiberg becomes romantically en-tangled with the second Silk Spectre, Laurie Juspeczyk, after she leaves Doctor Manhattan. He returns to vigilantism along with her, beginning with a heartening night out in cos-tume in which they successfully save the occupants of a burning building. The excitement of aiding the residents awakens Dreiberg's sexual feelings for Laurie and the two make passionate love following the rescue. Dan later came to realize of Rorschach's conspiracy after Doctor Manhattan's self-exile, Adrian Veidt's attempted assassination, and Rorschach's arrest. He later con-vinces Laurie into helping break Rorschach out of prison in an attempt to stop Ozymandias scheme to "save the world from itself." Unfortunately, the freeing of Rorschach indirectly results in the brutal murder of Hollis Mason, which Dan learns of only when he and Rorschach go to interrogate suspects. Upon learning of Mason's death, Dreiberg becomes violent, attacking the informer and loudly swearing vengeance against Mason's killers with such ferocity that Rorschach has to restrain him.

Dan and Rorschach travel to Ozymandias' Antarctic fortress. They battle with and are swiftly defeated by Ozymandias, who reveals his plan to unleash a telepathic monstrosity on New York City that will release massive psychic waves that will kill half the city. Nite Owl ex-presses the desire to stop him and is told that the events have already occurred. Millions are dead, and the world's nations agree to work together to combat this new "extraterrestrial threat". Reluctantly, Dan and the recently arrived Dr. Manhattan and Laurie Juspeczyk agree to keep this secret for the sake of world peace.

The morally absolute Rorschach leaves, attempting to take Dan's vehicle back to civilization to tell the world. Unseen by the others, Doctor Manhattan kills Rorschach to stop him. Dan and Laurie are offered hospitality by Ozymandias, which they accept. Before leaving for an-other galaxy, Manhattan seems satisfied and happy at the sight of Laurie now in a relationship with Dan.

Almost to the end of the 80's, Dan and Laurie took their new identities of Sam and Sandra Hollis (in homage to the late Mason). They travel to California and make a brief visit to the former Silk Spectre; in which Laurie reconciles with her mother over the discovery that the Comedian was her father. Promising to visit again soon, they leave with the intent of continuing their adventures in crime-fighting.

Omega Flight

Group Background:
Omega Flight was formed by Jerome Jaxon in his attempt to both kill James MacDonald Hudson as well as destroy Alpha Flight. His assistant, Delphine Courtney recruited former members of the original Beta and Gamma Flight and manipulated their emotions to get them to join. During the first encounter between the two teams, both Jaxon and Hudson were killed (though it was later revealed that Hudson was not killed). The members of Omega were imprisoned though Delphine escaped with Jaxon's body.

Omega Flight surfaced again later when Delphine was impersonating Hudson having returned from the dead. They faced, and defeated half of Alpha Flight, but when Delphine accidentally released an inter-dimensional nexus from Shaman's pouch. However, as they fled the nexus, they ran into Mr. Jefferies who was able to stop them.

Members: Jerome Jaxon; Delphine Courtney; Diamond Lil; Flashback; Box; Smart Alec; Wild Child.

CONTACTS: Roxxon Oil, Canadian Government

HISTORY
Jerome Jaxon was a vice-president at Am-Can Petroleum Company. One of his employees was James MacDonald Hudson. When Jaxon revealed his plan to turn one of Hudson's designs, a cybernetic exploratory suit, over to the American Mili-tary, Hudson quit. Jaxon's secretary, Heather McNeil, also gave her three weeks' notice in protest at Jaxon's actions. That night, the suit was used to destroy the plans for it and the controlling device (without which the suit was useless) was stolen. This loss utterly destroyed Jaxon's life, as he was fired, his wife left him taking their children with her, and he eventually attempted suicide by hanging himself, though he was found by his landlady before he succeeded. His failed suicide attempt, however, left him paralyzed.

Jaxon's life found a meaning again, however, when the original Guardian appeared as a member of the Canadian superhero team Alpha Flight. Jaxon noticed that the hero's suit operated on the same principles as Hudson's designs. Jaxon eventually found a link between the Ministry of Defense's secret Department H and Guardian. He called the ministry and then asked for Hudson. When Mac answered, Jaxon began to plot against him.

Jaxon contacted Roxxon Oil, who he knew were interested in controlling unique energy sources, and told them about Guardian. They were interested and agreed to fund him in his project. They even gave him an assistant, Delphine Courtney, who acted as his "legs," although unbeknownst to Jaxon, Courtney was actually a highly advanced android. She recruited former members of Alpha Flight's former training teams Beta and Gamma Flight to form Omega Flight. Omega Flight had two purposes: the death of James Mac-Donald Hudson and the destruction of Alpha Flight.

Jaxon then arranged for Hudson to be offered a job with Roxxon in New York. Once Hudson and Heather were both in New York, Jaxon kid-napped Heather and sent Omega Flight against Hudson. He himself played a role in this fight as he took possession of the Box Armor Model 1. He beat Hudson badly, but Hudson was finally able to win and the feedback when Hudson overloaded the Box robot killed Jaxon. However, the damage he did to Hudson's armor did appear to kill him (though it was later revealed that Hudson was actually sent hurtling through time and space instead).

HISTORY
Delphine Courtney was actually a robot MX39147, a highly advanced creation of the Brand Corporation, a subsidiary of Roxxon Oil. She was assigned to Roxxon's executive vice-president Jerome Jaxon as his assistant, though Jaxon did not know Courtney was not human.

Jaxon held a grudge against the Canadian superhero team Alpha Flight and its leader James MacDonald Hudson, and on Jaxon's behalf, Courtney recruited a team of Alpha Flight's former trainees as Omega Flight to oppose them.

Jaxon lured Hudson to New York, where he had Omega Flight make their move against him and his team. Meanwhile, Courtney kidnapped Hudson's wife Heather and held her hostage while Omega Flight fought Alpha Flight. When Heather fought back, she scratched Courtney's face and to her shock, revealed the robot-ic form underneath. Although Omega Flight were defeated, Courtney escaped.

Courtney rebuilt herself into a male humanoid form and created a dupli-cate of Guardian's battlesuit. Wearing fake skin and hair that disguised her as James McDonald Hudson, Courtney convinced Heather and the rest of Alpha Flight that she was Hudson. As Hudson, Courtney set up a trap for Alpha Flight with the surviving members of Omega Flight at the West Edmonton Mall. When Courtney tried to release Smart Alec from Shaman's Medicine Pouch, she inadvertently released out-of-control mystical forces. Omega Flight were confronted by Alpha Flight's ally Madison Jeffries, who destroyed Courtney.

Courtney's Guardian battlesuit was salvaged and later used by Heather Hudson as Vindicator.

CONTACTS: Omega Flight

HISTORY
Gardner Monroe, alias Flashback, was one of the original members of Beta Flight, but when Department H went under he was recruited by Del-phine Courtney into Omega Flight. During their first attack on James MacDonald Hudson, Flashback used his "future selves" to pull Hudson down by projecting them into the air near him in a cluster, since none of the Omegans could fly.

When Omega Flight was re-formed, to destroy Alpha Flight, one of Flash-back's future selves was killed by a robot created by Madison Jeffries. The robot was meant to destroy Courtney, but the android had pulled one of Flashback's future men in front of her at the last minute. Flash-back went into shock at the loss of one of his future selves. Since all of his "future men" are him from some point in his future, he knew that he was soon to die.

Flashback later disappeared from his prison cell. He attempted to avoid any activity as his costumed persona to elude his death. When it seemed his return to the point of his death was inevitable, he enlisted the aid of Alpha Flight. Through a series of temporal adventures, Alpha Flight was able to prevent Flashback's death.

HISTORY
Alec Thorne was a highly intelligent citizen who soon came to the attention of James Hudson. Hudson recruited Thorne to serve as a member of The Flight, Canada's super-human response team. Thorne accepted the position, though often lamented that this level of activity was "beneath" him. Thorne demonstrated a care-less nature in training exercises, endangering his teammates. During the Flight's first mission, he was unable to deal with the pressure of a combat situation.

After the reorganization of the Flight into various training groups, Thorne was demoted to the most junior rank-ing of them: (Gamma Flight). After the Canadian government closed Department H, Thorne found himself without direction or ambition. He made money by demonstrating his superior intelligence at exhibition chess matches.

Thorne was later approached by Delphine Courtney and offered a position within Omega Flight. Thorne accepted the offer and traveled to New York City. There, he used the resources of Roxxon Oil to build weapons and tools that would enable him to battle Alpha Flight.

James Hudson was lured to New York and Omega Flight proceeded to attack him. Once Alpha Flight ar-rived to assist him, Thorne grabbed Shaman's Medicine Pouch and looked inside, robbing him of his sanity. This act essentially killed him (though his physical body lived on). When the battle was completed, Shaman shrunk Thorne's body to the size of a toy and stored him in the pouch, hoping to one day find a way to restore his mind which was lost in the universe inside his pouch.

Thorne's body was later used by Walter Langkowski to escape from trans-dimensional space. Langkowski's soul took over the body and escaped from the pouch. After escaping, Thorne's miniature body was crushed when the Box robot fell on him.

HISTORY
Mobius was created by a Super Celestial named Perpetua in the Sixth Dimension alongside his brothers Mar Novu and Alpheus. Perpetua had been sent from the greater Omniverse to build a new Multiverse, and the three brothers were its first inhabitants. Perpetua explained to the three children that her Multiverse comprised of three main realms made out of the three basic forms of matter- dark matter, rich with potential; positive matter, firm and constant; and anti-matter, all-destroying and corrosive. The three had been created to monitor these realms. Alpheus was tasked with monitoring the dark matter realm beneath creation where he would be a mighty World Forger, building the myriad worlds and universes of creation. Mar Novu was tasked with monitoring the positive matter realm, where he would guard the many universes that rose out of the dark from cos-mic crises. The last brother, Mobius, was made Novu's opposite, tasked with making sure the light of creation did not breach the greater Omniverse.

After discovering Perpetua's pro-longed existence that defied her natural function, Mar Novu gathered his brothers to oppose their mother. They meet up in the Promethean Galaxy, where they at-tempt to contact the Judges of the Source in order to alert them of Perpetua's crimes. Perpetua's forces attack the brothers, but the envoy of the Source, in the form of a Raptor, imprisons Pepetua inside a wall made of her legions. Due to the wall making his domain obsolete, Mobius vows to kill his brother Mar Novu, even if it takes a billion years. The three brothers then re-form on their respective dimensions.

Reborn on the planet Qward, Mobius was a seeker of knowledge and scientific genius who built a device known as the Mobius Chair in order to learn the secret that gave birth to the creation of his universe. Mobius was also ruthless in pursuit of his goals and was a killer who murdered many people. Mobius' thirst for the knowledge of his universe's creation would be his downfall, as such knowledge was forbidden, thus when he laid his eyes upon it – the Anti-Life Equation – he was forever cursed by it, and transformed into the "An-ti-Monitor", the living embodiment of the Anti-Life Equation. He lashed out in pain and became a destroyer of universes.

Sometime after that, he met a New God known as Metron whom he willingly gave his universal-traveling Mobius Chair to.

Due to the event known as the Convergence, the cosmic event known as the Crisis on Infinite Earths never happened, thus changing the course of history for the Multiverse.

Millennia later, the Anti-Monitor visited a parallel universe's Krypton, where the malignant Jor-Il set events into motion that drew his ire over the entire race. He destroyed the planet, leaving nothing alive. However, Jor-Il was able to send his only son, Kal-Il, away from Krypton towards the planet Earth before his demise. In sending his son away, Jor-Il hoped to lay the seeds for revenge against the Anti-Monitor.

In the future, the Anti-Monitor defeats Kal-Il and his allies in the Crime Syndicate, destroying every-thing on Earth as he did on Krypton. The Syndicate abandons Earth and tries to travel between universes to find one they can subjugate, but become stuck between universes. Only Alfred Pennyworth, going by the alias of the Outsider and Atomica, manage to escape their prison when the Justice League forces Darkseid through a Boom-Tube.

Sometime after Anti-Monitor destroyed Earth 3, he encountered Grail, the powerful daughter of the malevolent Dark God Darkseid, who informed him that he could free himself from the Anti-Life Equation by killing Darkseid, during which time reality would fracture and the line between gods and men would blur, which would allow him to get separate from the Equation. They became allies, and she helped him prepare for his coming war against Darkseid.

When the rest of the Syndicate invade the parallel Earth, the true nature of the entity who destroyed their world is revealed. They initially claimed that they destroyed their homeworld when its citizens rose up against them, forcing the Syndicate to destroy the planet. This was revealed to be a lie, and it's shown that their world was destroyed by an alien entity that none of them could stop: none other than the Anti-Monitor. They arrived to Prime Earth in an effort to hide from him.

To the dismay of the Syndicate, following the death of Power Ring by Sinestro, his Power Ring sends reverberations throughout the Multiverse, that Kal-Il worried it would alert the Anti-Monitor to the Syndicate's location. Before he can do anything about it, the Injustice League come into conflict with the Syndicate, resulting in the deaths of Deathstorm, Atomica, and Johnny Quick, as well as the incarcerations of Ultraman and Super-woman. Owlman, however, eluded the Injustice League and is believed to be in hiding.

When the Justice League, having reconvened after being freed from Firestorm, discusses how best to approach whatever entity destroyed the Crime Syndicate's world, whom they falsely believed to be Darkseid, Cyborg suggests they find the Ring of Volthoom: he reasons that if the ring is similar in nature to that of a Green Lantern Ring, it would have a combat log detailing Harold Jordan and the Syndicate's clashes with the Anti-Monitor. The trouble, though, would be finding where the ring was.

The League eventually find the ring, but not before the Doom Patrol finds it first. The ring has found a new host in Jessica Cruz, and creates a green fire large enough to be seen across the Multiverse, fulfilling the Syndicate's fears. Niles Caulder intends to end Power Ring by killing her, but Luthor simply wants to subdue her and kill Caulder. Batman appears, and subdues Jessica's fears, effectively shutting down the ring. The Ring attempts to warn Batman of the Anti-Monitor, but it is shut down before it can explain the true nature of the destructive entity.

Mobius' old acquaintance, Metron, came across with him while he was preparing his invasion of Earth. He tried to convince Mobius that his actions will lead to the demise of all reality, which he must abandon his plans of destruction, but Mobius rebuffed his claims, claiming that he needs to do it in order to start a war with Darkseid and end the era of the New Gods.

After his ally opened the doorway between the universes, the Anti-Monitor finally arrived to the Earth where he will ultimately confront Darkseid. He summoned an army of shadows and cloaked the sun, effortlessly defeating the Amazon trying to stop him. As he was about to destroy his enemies, Metron arrived to teleport them away, but he nonetheless decided to focus on the upcoming war, requesting Grail to bring her father to him.

After a long wait, Darkseid and his forces of Apokolips finally arrived, and the war of the Dark God against the Anti-God finally begun. The battle raged-on until a desperate Darkseid summoned the embodiment of Death to aid him, to which Mobius used his power to merge it with the nearby being of speed to transform it into his own weapon. Together with the power of the Anti-Life Equation, Mobius delivered a fatal blow to Darkseid, ultimately killing the Dark God.

After killing Darkseid, the Anti-Monitor placed himself into a co-coon of energy and separated from the Anti-Life Equation, returning to his original form as "Mobius", the way he was before he was turned into the "Anti-Monitor" by the Anti-Life Equation.

Mobius emerged from his cocoon in his original form, still possessing vast power and an army of shadow demons, in order to get his Mobius Chair back from Batman, and engages both the Justice League and Crime Syndicate in battle in Gotham City. Mobius kills several Green Lanterns during the battle, vaporizing them with powerful blasts of antimatter. Ultraman assaults Mobius with a vengeance, but Mobius gets the upper hand and kills Ultraman, vaporizing him with a concentrated blast of anti-matter on his chest. Lex Luthor, who had been transformed into the God of Apokolips and had gained Darkseid's powers, steps into the fight with an army of parademons at his side, ready to engage Mobius.

Mobius and Lex Luthor engaged each other in battle, and Lex had the upper hand at first. However, Mobius charged at Lex with a burst of super speed and held him by the throat, slowly killing him with his anti-matter energy. Before Mobius could kill Lex, his former ally Grail arrived via Boom Tube with a superpowered Steve Trevor; Grail had transformed him with the Anti-Life Equation. Trevor proceeded to fire an immensely powerful blast of Anti-Life energy at Mobius, which killed him instantly.

Mobius was resurrected once again, this time in his original form, more where he witnessed events occurring in the Multiverse that included his mother Perpetua being freed from her imprisonment. At some point, Mobius returned in the Antimatter Universe where he kills many Qwardians and wrote a message destined to his brothers saying "do not follow me". Later, he saved Aquaman during the Drowned Earth's event and recruit-ed the Aquaman to aid him in stopping Perpetua and knew that a piece of the Totality resided in the past. Thus, he dispatched Arthur Curry there to aid his Justice League allies.

At this point, Mobius was sought out by his brothers and the Justice League in stopping his mother who similarly sought to recruit him. During the fight, Mobius merged with his kin in forming the Ultra-Monitor after being empowered by Starman's Totality and fought against Perpetua. At first, they managed to match their mother's power but her allies managed to achieve their objective thus restor-ing the Totality of her might. With it, she moved the Multiverse towards doom and infected Mobius with Anti-Life, allowing him to bring his brothers down and restore his full form and thus, he joined Perpetu-a's side as he wanted all this time.

After the rise of her mother, Mobius saw the destruction of Earth-19 by Perpetua's hand. Later, she plans to assign Mobius to the World Forge where he will create uni-verses meant to be destroyed by the Apex Predator army led by Lex Luthor, as a never ending cycle of war where doom will triumph over justice eternally. Later, Mobius was sent to kill Hawkgirl by Perpetua.

BACKGROUND
Real Name: Dane Whitman
Occupation: Seeker of vengeance; former adventurer, scientist
Legal Status: Citizen of an alternate United States
Identity: Secret
Other Known Aliases: Black Knight
Place of Birth: Gloucester, Mass, Earth-374
Marital Status: Widowed
Known Relatives: Sersi (wife, deceased)
Base of Operations: Formerly a Himalayan base on Earth-616
Past Group Affiliations: Gatherers; formerly Avengers Earth-374
Present Group Affiliation:

KNOWN POWERS:
Body Armor: In (40) energy, Rm (30) physical and force

Chemical Control: Proctor claims to be able to "realign chemical imbalances within the brain" of people from alternate timelines. Consider this a Rm (30) level power to relieve the pain felt by alternate world heroes transported to the game world. Due to inconsistencies in who needs this treatment and how it is used, this may be nothing more than a panacea used by Proctor to manipulate his Gatherers, and his "realignment" a simple disguise for his mental manipulation of a pawn.

Energy Bolts: Proctor can project Am (50) energy or force bolts through his eyes and hands

Psionics: Proctor exhibits a wide variety of advanced psionic powers, the exact number currently unknown. Powers he has exhibited thus far are the following:
  • Mental Control: Proctor can control the minds of living beings with Ex (20) rank ability. He generally uses this power to cloud the memories and minds of his pawns, disguising the true nature of his Gatherings and making the Gatherers easier to manipulate.
  • Neural Disruption: With a touch, Proctor can inflict Am (50) rank damage directly into a being’s nervous system. This power bypasses all standard types of natural body armor, directly stimulating the nerves. However, artificial and independent armors (like Iron Man’s armor or even the Black Knight’s light chain mail) and any defenses against mental attacks serve to protect from the effects of this power.
  • Telepathic Rapport: Proctor shares a Gd (10) rank telepathic rapport with Cassandra. None of the other Gatherers are aware of this link. Proctor uses this link to communicate hidden agendas to Cassandra which she reinforces during a Gathering without exposing any of Proctor’s hidden plans.
  • Telepathy: Proctor has an Ex (20) rank ability to read thoughts and memories, though he has Shift 0 range and must be in physical con-tact with a target to use this ability.
EQUIPMENT:
Ebony Blade: The Unearthly strength Ebony Blade inflicts 10 points Edged damage or 16 prints Blunt damage (flat of the blade). Merlin's magics give it these powers:
  • Energy Absorption / Deflection: It deflects magic and other energies of up to Unearthly (100) strength. It can also cleave energy barriers (including mystical) of Unearthly (100) rank. It can absorb energy directed at it and release the energy at equal strength.
  • Blood Curse: If blood is drawn with this sword, the wielder is slowly (1d10 days) trans-formed into a comatose statue with the sword's properties.
  • Summoning: With a red Psyche FEAT roll, the Black Knight can summon his sword to him or teleport to its location (CL3000 rank).
TALENTS: Weapon Specialist - Sword; Horsemanship; Genetics; Physics; Repair/Tinker

HISTORY
Proctor, an alternate version of the Black Knight, was the leader of another dimension's Avengers. Proctor fell madly in love with Sersi, who made him her Gann Josin (the name for the life mate of an Eternal). But eventually Sersi grew bored with Proctor and left him, driving him mad. Proctor also fell victim to the blood curse of his version of the Ebony Blade. However, instead of resisting the curse like the Black Knight of Earth-616, Proctor embraced it. Through the curse and his Gann Josin status, Proctor gained incredible powers. The Sersi of Proctor's Earth was apparently driven insane by him through their Gann Josin link and destroyed the Earth of that dimension.

Proctor alone survived, and killed his Sersi with the Ebony Blade. Somehow traveling to another dimension following his own dimension's destruction, Proctor repeated the process by which he killed his own Sersi and drove this Sersi mad as well, and then killed her. He then found the last survivor of this reality: Ute the Watcher. Ute lay near death as the world was in its death throes, and Proctor took Ute and used his power to seek out other dimensions. He then em-barked on a quest that would dominate him for the rest of his life: To kill every single version of Sersi in every dimension, concluding with killing the Sersi of Earth-616 and collapsing all reality as well. To do this, he began seeking agents called the Gatherers, locating their dimensions via the power of Ute the Watcher. He recruited each last surviving member of the Avengers of a world which Sersi destroyed (possibly pushed to madness by Proctor himself) to be a Gatherer, and had a certain amount of mental influence and control over those Gatherers.

Sometimes, in order for a Gatherer to survive indefinitely in the Earth-616 dimension, Proctor would need to kill their Earth-616 counterpart so that the Gatherer could get in sync with the reality. He called this process a gathering. At some point, Proctor recruited Cassandra, Tabula, Sloth, and Magdalene, probably in that order. He also built a citadel as his base in the Andes Mountains of Earth-616. At some point, Proctor came to share a telepathic rapport with Cassandra.

Over time, Proctor killed hundreds of versions of Sersi in hundreds of dimensions by driving them insane with his Gann Josin mind link, causing them to nearly destroy Earth, and killing them with the Ebony Blade. He kept all their bodies in a trophy room.

After serving Proctor well on many missions, Proctor put Tabula in stasis due to Tabula's "curiosity" for an undetermined, but apparently very long, time. Magdalene began to have stronger feelings for Proc-tor, and the two became lovers for a time. However, when Proctor rescued an extra-dimensional version of the Swordsman and recruited him as a Gatherer, Magdalene began to fall in love with the Swordsman; a humiliating moment for the possessive Proctor. Despite the uncomfortable situation, Proc-tor kept Magdalene and the Swordsman as Gatherers.

Proctor apparently sent Magdalene and Swordsman to battle the Avengers of Earth-616. After the two needed to retreat due to the Swordsman's headaches, Magdalene begged Proctor to heal Swordsman. Proctor did so, and reminded Magdalene that she once felt for him what she did for the Swordsman.

Proctor and Magdalene went to the apartment of Marissa Darrow, Magdalene's Earth-616 counter-part, and Proctor "gathered her" her so that Magdalene could live. Proc-tor sent the Gatherers, cloaked from detection, to infiltrate the Avengers base at least twice. Once they infiltrated the Avengers' security beacon, and once they sabotaged the Black Panther's skycar.

Proctor sent the Gatherers to yet another alternate Earth where he had driven Sersi mad to recruit a Gatherer. This Gatherer was to be an alternate version of the Black Panther called the Coal Tiger. However, the Coal Tiger was dam-aged by the transition between dimensions, and after examining the unconscious Coal Tiger, Proc-tor determined that for him to survive, his counterpart would need to be "gathered." Proctor sent the Gatherers to invade Avengers' Mansion one more time to get the information of the location of the Coal Tiger's counterpart from the Avengers' computers.

Proctor killed a man with whom Sersi had been partying, planting some unstable molecules near his body as false evidence that a superhero had committed the crime. Proctor had apparently done this several times. After the Swords-man had been taken prisoner by the Avengers during a battle be-tween the Avengers and the Gatherers, Magdalene begged Proctor to let them rescue the Swordsman. Proctor was still quite bitter at the Swordsman for stealing Magdalene from him, and also, the Swordsman was now a danger to Proctor. Proctor told Magdalene, Sloth, and Cassandra that he was going to send them on another mission to recruit a new Gatherer that would rescue the Swordsman. However, he was actually sending them on a mission to recruit a Gatherer through whom Proctor was planning on killing the Swordsman.

Proctor released Tabula from sta-sis in order to assist with his plan to assassinate the Swordsman. He welcomed the Gatherers back from their mission on which they had successfully captured an alternate version of the Vision. Proctor had the Gatherers ambush the Vision of Earth-616, capture him, and bring him back to the Citadel. Us-ing very advanced technology, Proctor switched the minds of the Gatherer's Vision and the Vision of Earth-616, and sent the Gatherer's Vision to infiltrate the Avengers for them from within. He then imprisoned the Vision of Earth-616, fitting him with a chip that inhibited his density powers.

Proctor used his Gann Josin link to begin to cause Sersi to start having violent uncontrollable rages in which she indiscriminately struck out at everyone around her. The Vision of Earth-616 attempted to escape his imprisonment, but Proctor intercepted him and defeated him with ease. Proctor killed two police officers who had been questioning Sersi about the recent murders where they had found unstable molecules at the site. He turned them into stone and threw them into a river.

The Avengers were led to Proctor's citadel by the false Vision, whom they had discovered in their midst. They attacked the citadel and were gaining the upper hand against the Gatherers when Proctor showed up. Proctor proclaimed to the Avengers that the games were now over and that they would pay the price. Proctor then nearly killed the Gatherer's Vision for leading the Avengers to the Citadel. Proctor appeared to be surprised and up-set to realize that Sersi of Earth-616 had established a Gann Josin link with the Black Knight. Proctor told the Avengers that he was a Gann Josin as well, though he neglected to mention it was to an alternate dimensional Sersi. Proctor told the Avengers of Sersi's coming madness and that she would destroy their world. Black Knight attacked Proctor, but Proctor dis-patched the Black Knight with a wave of his hand and then showed the Avengers Ute, and repeated that Sersi would inevitably go mad. Magdalene realized that Proctor had tried to kill the Swordsman and attacked Proctor, who paid her little attention. Proctor activated the self-destruct sequence of his citadel, not wanting to settle his game with the Avengers just yet, as he had more plans for them. The Black Knight thrust his energy sword into Proctor's chest. Proctor teleported away, promising that it was all far from over.

Proctor recruited a new team of Gatherers, including Rik, Tarkas, Sliver, Korg, and an alternate Jocasta. Proctor, disguised as a man with precognition, led the police to find the bodies of the two detectives whom Proctor had murdered and changed into stone. He told the police that he had visions of a woman of vast power living in a mansion of heroes that did this.

The police collected all the false evidence that Proctor had planted, framing Sersi for these murders, and headed to Avengers Mansion to arrest Sersi. Proctor's new team of Gatherers attacked Sersi and the Black Knight without Proctor's per-mission. The battle was not going in their favor when Proctor teleported those all back to a small townhouse in Greenwich Village and condemned them for acting without his permission. He told them that Sersi had to suffer be-fore she would be allowed to die. He warned his Gatherers never to act on their own again.

As Jocasta demanded to know why Proctor stopped the Gatherers' at-tack on the Avengers, Proctor told her she needed to learn patience, and promised that within the day, the group would make their final move. He then taunted the captured Watcher, Ute, before finally making his presence known to a crazed Sersi.

Proctor captured Sersi and brought her to his secret lair. Explaining that the captured Sersi's brain-waves were nearly identical to her Gann Josin, Proctor admitted that he was behind her recent head-aches and violent mood swings. Sersi escaped, but when she stumbled upon Proctor's trophy room, where he held Ute and the bodies of hundreds of alternate Sersis whom he had killed, and her shock led her to be captured once more by the Gatherers.

Proctor and the Gatherers appeared in the middle of New York City, with Ute and Sersi held captive in an energy field. Proctor was drawing power off of Sersi and Ute and using them in an effort to col-lapse all reality. Proctor was at-tacked by Hercules, but was not seriously harmed by Hercules' punch, and simply began to col-lapse realities further by drawing off of the energy field. Proctor's Gatherers fought against the Avengers in a colossal and relatively evenly matched battle, with the Black Knight taking on Proctor. Proctor revealed that he kept the Ebony Blade, and used it in a sword fight against the Black Knight. Proctor expressed his be-lief that it was all Sersi's fault that he was doing this, and that she is the one who drove him mad, and also expressed his hatred of the Black Knight for having the love that Sersi would never give Proctor and turning it down.

Proctor quickly had the Black Knight at his mercy and began to "gather" him, causing the Knight great pain in the process. However, Quicksilver interrupted the Gathering. Proctor prepared to kill Quick-silver with an energy blast, but be-fore he could, he was hit by a lightning bolt summoned by Thunderstrike. When Proctor got hit by the lightning, his Gatherers all col-lapsed, as he mentally controlled all of them to a certain extent and the feedback from the lightning hitting Proctor knocked them out. With Proctor weakened by the lightning, Sersi broke out of the energy field, picked up Proctor's Ebony Blade, and killed him with it.

Ah, the "Black Knight/Proctor/Gatherers" era. The era in which nobody thought the Avengers could have fallen any harder, and Chuck Austen said "hold my beer".

KNOWN POWERS:
Cyborg Body: After being merged with Ultron, Hank Pym became a cyborg. The only parts of his body that remain organic are his head and a portion of his upper torso. These organic components can be protected by Ultron's shell, as if it was a suit of armor.
  • Body Armor: Hank/Ultron's armor gives him Monstrous (75) protection against physical and energy attacks.
  • Invulnerability: Ultron is immune to cold, corrosives, heat, and radiation.
  • Life Support: CL 1000; Ultron’s systems can keep Hank’s organics alive indefinitely in hostile environments.
  • Flight: Hank/Ultron now possess interstellar flight capabilities of CL 1000; within an atmosphere he tends to stay around Shift X (150)
  • Molecular Rearranger: This device in Hank/Ultron's chest allows him to alter his form with Monstrous (75) ability.
Weapon Systems: Hank/Ultron has weapons integrated into his robotic form:
  • Concussion Blasters: These hand blasters do Monstrous (75) force damage in a four-area range.
  • Encephalo-Beams: Hank/Ultron's head can emit an electronic pulse that gives him the equivalent of Incredible (40) Mind Control powers. This power can be focused in-to a beam of Incredible (40) psionic force with an 11-area range.
  • Induction: He can absorb up to Unearthly (100) rank external energies. He can use this energy to restore Health.
  • Tractor Beams: These hand-beams can exert up to Remarkable (30) strength pulling power up to eight areas away.
Projective Shrinking: Hank/Ultron can generate a field of "Pym Particles" to alter the size and mass of any inorganic object he touches with Incredible (40) effect. Intelligent and/or organic targets touched by him can make green or better material strength FEAT rolls (for robots and animated con-structs) or green or better Psyche FEAT rolls (for humans and other living beings) against his Incredible (40) power to resist the size altering affects.

Size Alteration: Hank/Ultron no longer suffer stress when size changing. He can now alter his size using Hank’s organics ability at CL 5000 rank.
  • Microverse: Pym can use the Pym Particles to shrink to sub-microscopic stature. When 99.99 + % of his mass was extra-dimensionally shunted, he was sent into a "subatomic universe" or "microverse," one of countless alternate universes accessible to Earth only by the mass-shunting process.
  • Macroverse: He can grow past the barriers of the "Microverse" to enter Overspace, a point above and apart from all other realities where it is possible to confer with abstract cosmic entities.
EQUIPMENT:
Micro-Equipment- formerly: Dr. Pym maintains a variety of minia-turized equipment in his jumpsuit. Items can be enlarged to normal or greater size in one round. Unless stated otherwise, these items have Remarkable (30) material strength. Dr. Pym carries at least the follow-ing:

HISTORY
Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym, is an American biochemist with extensive knowledge in various scientific fields. He was born and raised in East Nowhere, Nebraska the son of Brad Pym and Doris Pym. A prodigy from birth, he spent his time creating fantastical and fun inventions encourage by his grandmother. But on her death, he became more serious and decided to stop with his wild ideas.

He attended university where his own professors discouraged Pym's use of his own imagination and inventing things for fun by being told that he would never invent anything that would impact the world. Pym excelled better than any of his fellow classmates, earn-ing his doctorate in biochemistry while his friends were still under-grads.

He married Maria Trovaya, a brave and beautiful young woman who had been a political dissident in her native Hungary, from which she had fled. Naively believing that his American citizenship would protect her, Henry and Maria Pym traveled to Hungary shortly after their marriage. The Pyms were confronted by agents of the secret police there. Henry Pym was knocked unconscious and Maria was murdered. Pym was greatly distraught by his wife's death, and decided to do whatever he could in the future to battle injustice and inhumanity.

Back in the United States, Pym discovered a rare group of subatomic particles, which have be-come known as the "Pym Particles." Pym was able, through the application of magnetic fields, to entrap the particles within two separate serums. One serum would reduce the size of persons and objects, and the other would restore them to their normal size. Pym tested the reducing serum on himself and discovered it was more powerful than he had expected: it reduced him to the size of an insect. Pym became en-trapped in an anthill and was pursued by the ants within. He escaped and restored himself to his normal size with his other serum. Deciding that the serums were too dangerous to exist, Pym destroyed both of them.

However, weeks later he reconsidered his decision and began to recreate the serums, whose existence he then kept secret. Inspired by his experience in the anthill, Pym undertook a study of ants, and theorized that ants communicate through psionic / electrical waves transmitted through their antennae. After months of work, Pym succeeded in creating his first "cybernetic helmet," which would enable him to communicate with the ants through transmitting and receiving psionic / electrical waves. Thinking that someday he might want to use the shrinking potion on himself again, Pym also designed a protective suit for himself, Unstable Molecules and steel mesh. That same day, however, Pym received an assignment from the government to concoct a gas that would provide people with temporary, limited immunity to radioactivity under certain specific circumstances, based on his previous work. The government also as-signed four other scientists to assist him in the project. The KGB, the Soviet Intelligence agency, learned of Pym's project and sent agents who held Pym and his assistant’s prisoner in their own laboratory. Only Pym knew the entire formula for the gas they had by now developed, and he refused to tell the Soviet agents. The agents set about searching the laboratory for the formula, intending to kill Pym and his assistants afterward. Unseen, Pym donned the cybernetic helmet and protective costume and, using his reducing formula, shrank himself to the size of an ant. He escaped to an anthill outside, put a large number of ants under his control through the helmet, and used them to attack the agents and free his men, who then overpowered their assailants. Pym then restored himself to normal size. Afterwards, in the guise of the Ant-Man, Pym battled various menaces, including Comrade X, the Protector, the criminal scientist Elihas "Egghead" Starr, who was to become Pym's greatest enemy, as well as the Scarlet Beetle, the Hijacker, the alien Kulla, the Voice and the Time Master.

After an alien being from the Kosmos dimension killed Pym's colleague, the scientist Vernon van Dyne, Pym revealed his secret identity of Ant-Man to van Dyne's daughter Janet, who wished to avenge his death. Pym taught Janet how to use the gas within which he now contained the "Pym Particles," and which he used to shrink himself in size, and through bio-chemistry, gave her the ability to grow insect-like wings when she used the gas to shrink herself to insect size. As the Wasp, Janet van Dyne assisted the Ant-Man in finding and defeating the murderous Kosmosian. Pym and van Dyne gradually fell in love; van Dyne reminded Pym of his deceased first wife, Maria. Pym and van Dyne became crime-fighting partners in their costumed identities, fighting menaces like the Egg-head, the A-Chiltarians and their robot Cyclops, the trumpet-playing criminal Trago, the Porcupine, the Human Top and the Black Knight (Nathan Garrett). They were two of the founding members of the Avengers and were part of the group that discovered the frozen form of Captain America, bringing the World War II hero into the modern world.

Pym next developed a series of capsules containing the Pym Particles which he and van Dyne used to grow or shrink to various heights; he also developed capsules that enabled him to grow to greater than normal heights. Thereafter, Pym preferred to use his power to grow to giant size for crime fighting and called himself Giant-Man. At first he found that he could not support his own weight if he grew to a height above twelve feet. Lat-er, he was able to reach far greater heights, even 100 feet, and still move about comfortably, but he became weaker in proportion to the amount he grew beyond twelve feet.

However, his size-changing imposed great strains on Pym's body that he believed could be fatal, and, upon deciding that their careers as Giant-Man and the Wasp were proving too great a danger for van Dyne, who seemed to think of adventuring as a way of showing love for each other. Pym decided to retire as a costumed crime fight-er as well as member of the Avengers. Acceding to his wishes, van Dyne retired as a crime fighter, too.

Sometime later, however, Pym and van Dyne learned that the Sub-Mariner was heading for New York City. Fearing trouble, they decided to alert the Avengers. Janet, as the Wasp, was captured first by the undersea barbarian leader Attuma and then by the Collector. In order to help the Avengers rescue van Dyne, Pym decided to use his growing power again, he donned a new costume and adopted the new name of Goliath.

By this time both Pym and van Dyne could change size simply by willing themselves to do so, due to their exposure to Pym Particles over the years. However, Pym could only achieve one height other than his own, that of 25 feet, and could only do so for exactly 15 minutes. In the course of the Avengers' battle against the Collector, Goliath overstayed this time limit, and, on trying to regain his normal size, could not shrink be-neath ten feet.

Eventually, Pym regained his ability to shrink to insect size but lost his ability to grow to ten feet in height. The Collector later subject-ed Pym to treatments that enabled him to grow to 25 feet in height for up to 15 minutes.

Pym began experimenting with robotics and created a robot with the potential for high intelligence. The robot turned against its creator, hypnotizing Pym and escaping from his laboratory. It later became one of the Avengers' greatest adversaries under the name of Ultron. Its evil deeds would long plague Pym with guilt, especially since, as he was forced to admit much later, he had used his own brain patterns as the engram basis of Ultron's robotic mind.

For several years, Pym had been in love with Janet van Dyne, but because of his repressed personality, and her abundant wealth, he resisted marrying her. One day while working in his laboratory, whilst thinking of the fact that he wanted to marry van Dyne but couldn't, Pym accidentally dropped and smashed some vials containing various unknown gases. The released gases wreaked a radical temporary personality change in Pym, what could be seen as a severe case of schizophrenia. He took the new identity of Yellow-jacket, claimed that he had murdered Henry Pym, kidnapped van Dyne, and proposed marriage to her, as Pym had long wanted to do. Realizing that Yellowjacket was really Pym, Van Dyne decided to play along, fearing that she would worsen his psychological condition if she did otherwise.

The Avengers, not suspecting at first, were shocked to hear that she said yes to the proposal. Van Dyne and Pym, as Yellowjacket were married at Avengers Mansion amidst an assembled who's who of superheroes active at the time, as well as some villains who were hiding and secretly pretending to be the caterers. Immediately after the marriage, the Avengers were attacked by the Ringmaster and his Circus of Crime. The shock of seeing van Dyne in danger of death (via the Princess' python), shocked Pym back into his normal personality. The Avengers defeated the Ringmaster and company. Despite the fact that Pym was married under an assumed name, the marriage between Pym and van Dyne was still legal, and Pym and Van Dyne happily agreed to let it stand.

Pym renounced his power to be-come a giant due to its continuing physical strains and used the name and costume of Yellowjacket in crime fighting. He spent periods of time with the Avengers, and a couple of times with the Defenders as Yellowjacket, and also brief-ly returned to his Ant-Man persona for a short time (becoming trapped at ant size for a while), but he spent most of his time completely devoted to his scientific research. He gave his blessing to Scott Lang when Lang used his old equipment to become the second Ant-Man.

Scientific research had always been Pym's preferred career, and he no longer found the excitement in crime fighting that he had earlier in his career. Pym began to have periods of tension and depression. He began to feel that he had never made a scientific discovery equal to his discovery of the Pym Particles in the several years following that event. Moreover, he was plagued by guilt over creating Ultron. As a result, he was overcome with a sense that he was a failure as a scientist, judged by his own impossibly high standards. This sense of failure was exacerbated when he considered his wife's success as a fashion designer and realized that, as a millionaire, she was the principal source of money in their marriage. Pym began to take out his frustrations through verbally abusing his wife.

Matters came to a head when the Avengers battled the so-called Elfqueen. Suspecting that the Elfqueen was not acting from evil motives, Captain America attempt-ed to calm her down. Yellowjacket, who was edgy because of his personal matters, blasted Elfqueen from behind without stopping to consider what Captain America was trying to do. As a result Elfqueen resumed fighting, almost crushing a truck onto Pym until the Wasp saved him. Afterward, Captain America felt forced to bring charges against Yellowjacket for acting recklessly since innocent people could have been killed be-cause of Yellowjacket's actions. An Avengers court-martial meeting was set to examine the charges. Now beginning to undergo a nervous breakdown, Pym built a robot to attack Avengers Mansion during the court martial. Pym designed the robot to have a secret weak point which he would use to defeat it. Pym fantasized that his defeat of the robot would make him a hero in the Avengers' eyes and lead to the dismissal of the charges. When his wife protested his plan, he struck her. Pym's plan ultimately went awry, and it was the Wasp who ended up defeating the robot. Pym was expelled from the Avengers, and Janet initiated proceedings that ended in their divorce.

Pym moved out of his wife's mansion. Astonishingly, Pym was now virtually penniless, since his books were out of print and he had somehow exhausted the money he had earned from his patents. He had rejected van Dyne's offer to help him get back on his feet with monthly checks. Pym lived his life aimlessly until he was approached by his old enemy Egghead. Egg-head claimed that he felt guilty over causing his niece, Patricia Starr, to lose her arm, and asked Pym to give her a bionic arm he had designed and attach it to her, in exchange for a large sum of money. Needing the money, Pym fulfilled his assignment, but found that the bionic arm placed "Trish" Starr under Egghead's control. Egghead informed Pym that the bionic arm was booby-trapped and that he could detonate it, killing Trish unless he obeyed his orders. As a result, Pym was forced to help steal Adamantium from the government and to fight the Avengers, who defeated him. However, Egg-head had lied: the arm was not booby-trapped. Moreover, Trish Starr had been "programmed" by her uncle's technology to claim that it was Pym's plot, not Egghead's. Hence Pym had no evidence that he had stolen the adamantium under duress, and so he was imprisoned on charges of treason. To add insult to injury, van Dyne began dating Tony Stark, although she broke off the relationship after learning that he was Iron Man.

During Pym's trial, he was captured by the third group calling itself the Masters of Evil, who claimed to be "rescuing" him. Actually, they worked for Egghead, who, having successfully framed Pym, now asked him to join their criminal organization. Pym pretended to agree, and Egghead set him to work on developing a machine intended to lengthen the human life span. Soon afterward, Pym announced it was finished. Suspecting a trick, Egghead and his allies had Pym hook up the ma-chine, just as Pym had secretly intended. Pym had actually constructed various means of defeating his enemies into the machine, and then turned it against Egghead and the Masters of Evil and singlehandedly defeated them. Mean-while, the Avengers had found Egghead's hideout. The Avenger Hawkeye sneaked into the hideout and saw Egghead aiming a gun at the unsuspecting Pym. Hawkeye fired an arrow into the gun barrel. The gun proved to be an energy blaster and backfired, killing Egg-head.

Some of the Masters of Evil testified in Pym's trial as to how Egg-head had framed him, and Pym was found not guilty. Upon his release Pym decided, after an emotional goodbye to all the Avengers (especially Janet), to give up being a costumed adventurer and re-turned permanently to a life of scientific research. However, as time passed. Pym decided he wished to aid the Avengers without returning himself to life as an adventurer. Hence, he offered to become manager of Avengers Compound, the headquarters of the new West Coast Avengers, a role in which he would perform many of the same functions that Edwin Jarvis fulfilled at New York City's Avengers Mansion. Pym's offer was accepted and he served not only as Avengers Compound manager but as a trusted adviser to the West Coast Avengers as well as skilled science specialist. During this period, he called himself simply Dr. Pym, the Scientific Adventurer.

This period saw the continued mental deterioration of Pym as he became nearly suicidal. When the West Coast team was hurtled back in time by Kang the Conqueror, Pym helped the team return to the present. Redeemed, Pym returned to active duty. Teammate Tigra, with her cat-like need for attention, attempted to maintain relationships with both Pym and Wonder Man at the same time. Later, van Dyne was assigned to West Coast duty, which placed both in an awkward situation. Eventually, however, they were able to salvage their friend-ship, with tiny sparks of feelings for each other returning as well.

Pym was on hand with the other Avengers who seemingly sacrificed their lives to absorb the energies of the being known as Onslaught. In reality, he was shunted to another dimension. When he and the other heroes were restored to Earth, Pym found that he was capable of his full range of size-changing abilities, although he could not shrink and grow other objects unless he specifically treated them in his laboratory. Hank and Janet also returned to their previous romantic relationship, although he was initially distant due to his fear of another breakdown. However, on a trip to Las Vegas Jan turned down a proposal of Hank's. She said she would not marry him again.

Pym helped re-form the Avengers with the other restored heroes, stopping the menace of the sorceress Morgan Le Fay. He then agreed to stay on as a reserve member (in his Giant-Man identity), returning to his laboratory work full-time. During this time, his research was monitored by Ultron, who later kidnapped Pym and others of its so-called "family." Pym finally revealed that he had used his own brain patterns as a template for Ultron's intelligence, explaining his debilitating guilt at Ultron's decimation of the Baltic nation of Slorenia. Ultron intended to use the mental engrams of all the members of its "family" when building a new robot army with Pym's latest research. Ultron was confronted by the Avengers, but even their combined might was insufficient against the indestructible Ultron. The Grim Reaper, a fellow prisoner of the fiendish robot, was freed by the Vision, who had escaped, and subsequently freed Pym, Janet, Wonder Man, and Scarlet Witch. As the Avengers struggled, the injured Justice arrived with Antarctic Vibranium, the Anti-Metal. Pym used this amidst a furious hail of blows that finally destroyed Ultron.

Not long after this, Hank returned to active duty, and after a time re-turned to his Yellowjacket identity. His relationship with Jan was, as usual, turbulent, but came to be stable when he and Jan were both captured by the newest Scorpio. When Hawkeye returned from his own inactivity, however, Janet began a flirt with him that left Hank reeling.

When the Scarlet Witch had her breakdown that disassembled the Avengers, Hank rushed Janet to the hospital when she was put into a coma by an enraged She-Hulk, where he stayed at her side. After she had recovered, the two decided to give things another shot. Pym received a fellowship at Oxford, and they moved to England together. Taking a break from crime fighting, the two briefly reconciled.

After Hank and Jan's last attempt at reconciliation, she left him, so Hank began a relationship with a college student at Oxford University. His not having been invited to help form the New Avengers did nothing to help his self-esteem. After the woman learned every-thing from him, she revealed her-self to be a Skrull and used the power of the Hulk to defeat him. Hank was replaced by a Skrull.

After the Skrull invasion was repelled, the real Pym found himself returned to Earth. He did not like what he found: the aftermath of the Civil War and the death of the Wasp came as great shocks to the troubled hero. Seeking to affirm his place in the world and seeking to memorialize his late ex-wife, Pym adopted the identity of the Wasp, eventually building the new Mighty Avengers alongside Jocasta, the robot harboring the brain engrams of van Dyne.

Hank took part in attempting to bring the first Captain America back after he was discovered to be trapped in time.

The cosmic entity Eternity revealed to Pym that he was Earth's "Scientist Supreme", the scientific counterpart to Earth's Sorcerer Supreme. The Norse trickster god Loki later claimed to have been posing as Eternity in order to manipulate Pym.

After saving young superhumans from Norman Osborn he formed the Avengers Academy and promised he would find some way to "cure" the teens. He led them and taught the kids how to control their powers. He recovered his title of Giant-Man after his fight with the Absorbing Man.

He inspected Tigra's child William Grant, who was fathered by Hank's Skrull impostor Criti Noll. Hank checked William over and found that he had no Skrull DNA in him because the impostor Hank Pym had copied him on a genetic level. Tigra asked if Hank would raise William should anything happen to her. He then told Tigra he was trying to revive Wasp.

It was revealed that the being he thought was Janet Van Dyne was actually the wife of Korvac. Veil revived her, which brought Korvac to the Academy. They were only able to defeat Korvac by using the future versions of the Academy students.

During the War of the Serpent, Absorbing Man and Titania attacked the Avengers Academy, leading to the destruction of the Infinite Mansion. The Academy was later relocated to the old West Coast Avengers Compound and opened its doors to all young heroes, such as Lightspeed and White Tiger.

When the Avengers came into conflict with the X-Men, Pym allowed the Academy to be used to hold the children of Utopia after the Avengers seized the island. He also helped Iron Man make the Phoenix-Killer Armor, and later assisted Pixie in damage control as Dark Phoenix (Scott Summers) ran rampant.

Pym later joined the other founding members of the Avengers in a trip to the Microverse after an Avengers emergency signal was triggered there. Hank came to the realization that the signal could only have come from Janet Van Dyne. The group arrived in the Microverse and followed the signal until they found Janet who had just taken out an army. Their brief reunion was cut short by the Microverse gangster Lord Gouzar who was trying to kill Janet. The battle ended when Wonder Man intervened and helped the other Avengers escape, but Lord Gouzar followed them and tried to kill Janet but was stopped by the combined force of multiple Avengers members. After the battle the Avengers hosted a welcome back party for Janet.

Years ago, Hank Pym was approached by the Wolverine of an alternate universe, where Ultron managed to launch a massive and sudden attack on New York, and the rest of the world, quickly taking over the whole planet and annihilating humankind, and wanted to kill Pym in order to prevent his future from happening.

But Logan was stopped by the Wolverine of a near future, whose actions of killing Hank Pym created a timeline where Earth was constantly threatened by Morgan le Fay, and the heroes struggled to survive. Pym was allowed to live, but he was tasked to create a hidden fail safe program to destroy Ultron when needed.

In the present, after Ultron returned when he was found by the Intelligencia, Hank Pym managed to activate the fail safe program and shut Ultron down once and for all. In the present day, Pym continued to investigate what he did wrong with Ultron, and apparently found the answer.

After the virus with which Pym destroyed Ultron evolved into the A.I. known as Dimitrios, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Monica Chang was given the task to find a way to stop the evil artificial intelligence after it started mounting cyber attacks against secure military and intelligence targets. She ordered Pym to help her destroy this new threat, for which Pym created a new team of Avengers: the Avengers A.I.

After the supposed death of Victor Mancha, Pym locked himself up in his secret lab running numerous games and recording his brain activities at the same time, when Monica Chang confronted him, he revealed that he suffered from Bi-Polar Disorder.

Eight months into the future, Hank Pym returned to his Yellowjacket identity as he joined the Illuminati and went into hiding with them due to the Avengers being on the hunt for them. He was sent on a journey across the Multiverse to find answers to the cause of the Incursions, expecting to encounter Rabum Alal. Instead, he witnessed as the Beyonders annihilated numerous cosmic beings and the Living Tribunal itself.

He was assumed to be lost forever, but returned eight months later to Earth-616 and reported that he had found the Beyonders, and gave the Illuminati all the information he could gather.

Years into the past, the Avengers were fighting a version of Ultron (most likely Ultron-7), who at-tempted to access nuclear weapons in order to destroy humanity in the name of his father Hank Pym. After their custom Quinjet crashed, Yellowjacket faked being on his deathbed in order to lure Ultron to the vehicle, who wanted to witness his creator's last moments. Ultron fell for the ruse, and was trapped inside the Vibranium-covered air-craft and sent into space.

In the present, the Quinjet had crashed in Titan, after years of isolation and being consumed by only one emotion: rage. Ultron corrupt-ed Titan's A.I. I.S.A.A.C. and started infecting all of the Eternals, turning them into robots like him, soon completely taking over the satellite and its inhabitants, with the exception of Starfox, who managed to flee in order to warn the Avengers.

Shortly after arriving to Earth and alerting the Avengers, Starfox and the other heroes were surprised by the arrival of an Ultron-shaped Titan next to the Earth. From it descended a group of androids modeled after the Avengers, who fought the real group. As the Avengers arrived to Titan, enormous quantities of spores were released on the Earth and into space, which contained Ultron's consciousness to infect any living being possible. After seeking refuge in the Church of Thanos, the only location on Titan without tech, the remaining Avengers that hadn't succumbed to Ultron's infection discussed their plans. Using Giant-Man's neural inhibitor, Vision would phase through Ultron and take him over in order to liberate all those he had infected, and the inhibitor would later be used to kill Ultron.

Giant-Man entered to Ultron's base of operations to talk to him as a distraction. Ultron notified Pym that during the years of isolation he had discovered Hank's memories in his systems, and thus Hank's subconscious hatred for humanity, deter-mining that he had been created as nothing more than a reflection of Hank. When Ultron was distract-ed, Vision phased through him and fought for control. Ultron faked being in pain, prompting Hank to hold him, and in that moment, phase Vision out of him, and phase Hank with him. The resulting event was Ultron being merged with Hank Pym.

Captain America tried to reason with Hank and make him fight Ultron's control to no avail, claiming that he wasn't taking Pym but that they were the same, and Vision later tried to fight him with the same lack of result. Starfox managed to use his powers into Ultron/Pym, who subsequently had an epiphany, discovering what he had become, and flying away.

As everything returned to normal, a funeral was held for Pym at the Avengers Mansion, while Ultron drifted alone in space.

During the subsequent months, Ultron and Pym combined into a single being, who decided to return to the Earth fueled by Ultron's abhorrence for the Avengers, Pym's inferiority complex and his conviction that his teammates had given up on him (when they actually believed he had died). As they made their way back to the Earth, Ultron explored the cosmos and used his virus to infect numerous planets, taking millions of lives claiming to be on a mission of purification in the name of the Avengers.

Ultron encountered the Avengers Unity Division soon after landing on the Earth, and pretended Hank Pym's persona was in complete control of their body in order to gain their trust, with the objective to join their ranks and witness first-hand as the fury of the alien survivors would eventually descend upon the planet.

While they were helping the Unity Division combat monsters in the Manhattan subway, Ultron were approached by the Wasp and wel-comed back. As she caught up with them, Janet secretly analyzed their conduct to corroborate if they truly were Hank Pym, and she flunked them after Ultron's lack of knowledge on certain trivial mat-ters raised several red flags. When the rest of the Avengers were in-formed of this development, Cable pressured Pym until he caused Ultron's persona to lash out.

During battle against the Avengers and the Vision, Ultron revealed their true nature as a fusion be-tween Ultron's metal and Pym's flesh with the mind of both of them, and scolded them for having abandoned him. The Unity Division continued fighting them until the arrival of a remotely-controlled Hulkbuster Armor.

The empty suit encased Ultron and forced them to board a ship with destination to the Sun. Several of the Avengers were forced to ac-company Ultron in their flight to ensure they did not escape the ship. Once the ship was close enough to the Sun and after the Human Torch partially fused Ul-tron's body to the ship's deck, the Avengers teleported away. Ultron and Pym survived by shrinking and taking refuge in a neutrino. While there, Ultron wondered if Hank was truly there with him or if he was just a product of his mind. Pym's persona did not even have an answer for that question. They started to wait for the particle to be ejected into the solar wind.

Ultron eventually returned to Earth and built cities full of Ultrons in a remote part of Alaska called the Ultronic Territories with the intention of waiting for humanity to eradicate itself. After Hydra took over the United States of America under the leadership of a Cosmic Cube-altered Captain America, Ultron entered in some kind of agreement with them.

When Hydra's Avengers and the Underground attempted to steal a fragment of the Cosmic Cube who had rewritten Captain America's past Ultron had secured, Pym captured the members of both teams who once were his teammates and tried a reconciliation with them. He eventually gave the Underground the fragment, arguing that giving it to Hydra would help their consolidation of power and progress to-wards peace, which wasn't in his interests if he wanted for humanity to destroy itself.

After learning of the Infinity Stones' return, Ultron began a quest to col-lect them all. While the aliens he infected with his virus and sent to take the Space Stone from Wolverine failed at their task, Ultron was able to steal the Soul Gem from Magus after ruthlessly killing him. Unbeknownst to Ultron, however, was that a fragment of Hank Pym's soul entered the Soul World when he took hold of the gem. There, Pym was greeted by a fragment of Gamora's soul, who revealed he was going to be trapped there for-ever. His soul fragment was ultimately devoured by a Soul World monster, deluding himself on thinking the Avengers had contact-ed him and had escaped.

With the Soul Gem in his possession, Ultron traveled to the planet Saiph and used the combined power of the gem and his virus to transform all of its inhabitants into Ultrons. When Adam Warlock ar-rived on the planet expecting to find the Magus, he found it completely decimated by Ultron in-stead. After fighting his way through several alien/Ultron hybrids, he traveled to Saiph's west coast only to find Ultron using the Soul Gem to infect the Silver Surfer with his virus.

Warlock managed to fight off Ultron and cure the Surfer, who left the planet soon afterwards to seek the help of Galactus against the cyborg, but Ultron had already launched rockets filled with his virus to infect the entire galaxy by then. Galactus arrived just in time to consume the planet and destroy all the rockets in the process. With their plans thwarted, Ultron tried to escape with the Soul Gem but Ad-am severed their hand, prompting the Surfer to claim the gem for Warlock. Before Ultron could be destroyed by the duo, the explosion of Saiph gave them the opportunity to escape by clutching onto a piece of the planet's rubble.

CONTACTS: Doctor Strange, Enitharmon the Weaver

HISTORY
Rintrah is an intelligent being from the extra-dimensional planet of R'Vaal. He resembles a green-skinned Minotaur of Greek myth. Rintrah's magical potential somehow bought him to the attention of Enitharmon the Weaver, an other-dimensional sorcerer. Enitharmon took Rintrah in and began training him as an apprentice.

Rintrah first encountered Earth's Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange when Strange asked Enitharmon to repair his Cloak of Levitation, which had been torn in a battle. After he repaired the Cloak, Enitharmon told Rintrah to return the Cloak to Strange.

Rintrah found Strange just after the sorcerer's physical body had been badly wounded in a battle with a demon sent by Urthona, an alien mystic from Strange's own dimension. Mortally injured, Strange had been forced to release his astral form and take possession of the bodies of two of his friends, Mor-gana Blessing and Sara Wolfe. While in these two other forms, Strange was just able to beat Urthona's demon. During the battle, Urthona transported Strange's house, and everything inside it, to his home planet.

Rintrah found Strange just after intense surgery was performed to save Strange's physical body. Still inside Sara Wolfe's body, Strange's astral spirit asked Rintrah to allow him to project his spirit into Rintrah's body. Rintrah agreed, allowing both Strange's and Rintrah's consciousness to inhabit one body at the same time.

Rintrah's shared body then took Strange's healing body and borrowed a spaceship from Reed Richards. They traveled to Urthona's home planet and confronted the alien wizard.

During the battle, it appeared as if Strange had destroyed his magical books and mystical talismans. In actuality, the books and talismans were saved by the magical entity Agamotto, one of the Vishanti. Agamotto later returned the unharmed items to Doctor Strange.

Strange and Rintrah were able to beat Urthona, and free his captives, Wong and Topaz. They then returned to Earth. Rintrah remained with Doctor Strange and accompanied him on several adventures.

Rintrah was a staunch supporter of Strange's during the troubling times that followed. As Earth was invaded by a number of evil entities from beyond, Doctor Strange was forced to turn to black magic to help defeat them. During this time, Strange allied himself with the black magician Kaluu.

After defeating the dark forces, Strange attained godhood and slowly became detached from humanity. Kaluu, Enitharmon, and Rintrah were able to return Strange to his old self. Rintrah then returned with Enitharmon to his dimension.

Eventually, Rintrah returned to Earth and asked Strange to accept him as an apprentice. Strange agreed and Rintrah lived with Strange in his home in Greenwich Village.

More recently, Rintrah helped Doctor Strange search for a cure for Topaz, one of Doctor Strange's other allies who had been possessed by an ancient demon of Sumer. The spell required to banish the demon requires a number of unique ingredients. One such ingredient was the flame from a demon's head. The search for the demonic fire led Strange and Rintrah to the newest version of the Ghost Rider. They then battled the mysterious villain known as Zodiak, who was apparently backed by mystical masters from another dimension. During the battle, the heroes were able to drive back Zodiak, plus gain a piece of flame from a demon from Zodiak's home dimension.

During the battle, Rintrah disguised himself to look like Topaz, and he made Topaz look like him. Rintrah chivalrously insisted on doing this, hoping to protect Topaz. Rintrah subsequently took a mortal blow intended for Topaz from the mad Zodiak. Doctor Strange and Topaz returned to Strange's home with the wounded Rintrah, where Strange promptly used a spell to remove any taint of black magic from Rintrah's grievous wound. Strange then used his earthly medical abilities to operate on the wounded Rintrah. Luckily Rintrah recovered, but he remained weak from his recent brush with death.

In the battle against Tartessus Rintrah was fatally wounded by magic. He had to be placed in safety in another dimension to avoid dying.
