Kirinke's Compendium of Wondrous Creatures

In this thread, I'm first converting D&D monsters to M&M 3E. From there, I will go on to whatever pleases my fancy. As always most of these characters are going to go by The Merge Universe's rules, unless otherwise stated.

Any image posted by me in any thread is generally used without permission and will be removed or credited to the artist at their sole discretion. No disrespect is intended. If I used your image, it's because I really liked it and it represented the spirit of whatever character I am statting up.

I am earning no money from this. Also, most of the images I use for my characters are from Deviant Art. They have some really great artists over there and I bow humbly to their talent. I am linking the image directly from the Deviant Art home page it came from.

It's a perfect day for fishing. The air is cool and refreshing and the waters are calm and still as glass. The fish are jumping without care. Suddenly, the water boils and a mass of writhing tentacles attached to a horrible, disgusting, 20 foot long, fish-like creature erupt around you with the sole purpose of crushing your boat and then drawing you down into the deep and into it's waiting maw.

Nice- I always dug the Aboleths- such a cold, calculating, inhuman menace, but packing an interesting appearance on top of it.

This horrible monster looks like an unholy cross between a scorpion and a cockroach. With none of the charm. It also likes fresh meat and isn't picky about what it eats. While one of them probably isn't much of a threat to a group of adventurers, they do cluster in groups of three or four on occasion, which naturally increases the threat level of these monsters considerably.

Going alphabetically, I see- the poor Yith & Yuan-Ti :). Akhegs are always cool, too- basically an Antlion upgraded to inhuman size. Naturally a small threat in D&D, but M&M stats allow the things to be appropriately scary for just about anybody.

One Ankheg isn't a problem for a dedicated group of adventurers, but a bunch of them can be a problem and Ankheg's do occasionally come in clusters of 3 or 4. Heh. I'm getting most of my information from this link: http://www.d20srd.org/indexes/monsters.htm. The conversion process isn't exactly easy. I'm sort of referring to the abilities chart and then eye-balling it in hero-lab. Some of the stuff just doesn't translate well or have an equivalent, so it's slow going.

Animated Object (Tiny) PL 4/59PP

Animated objects can be perhaps the most terrifying of all creatures to for low PL adventurers to encounter, because they can literally be anything. A doll, a piece of rope. A rug and that dusty, old, deer head on the wall. Any of them could suddenly come to a seeming of life and want to do very bad things to you. So... yeah. They aren't to be taken lightly, especially since they can come in groups and mob you. Not fun. Here is a sample of a Tiny Animated Object. They can come in all sizes and shapes, mostly due to powers like Animate or Control object.

I think MisterB did a D&D to M&M conversion chart, but it still takes a lot of work, I'd assume.

A lot of it is trying to find equivalents and some things you just have to leave out as they have no direct correlations.
