And are, amusingly, the only one of these dire animals to have actually existed, though the D&D concept of the critter owes more to Tolkien than paleontology.

Dinosaur, Deinonychus - PL 8/95pp

Deinonychus are a group of carnivorous feathered dinosaurs, characterized by a huge sickle-shaped talon on the second toe of each hind foot. Their modern equivalent would be a cassowary, emu or ostrich. From what I've gathered, they do have characteristics of komodo dragons as well, so I included a poisonous bite in their Attributes.

Dragons, General Information

Dragons, real dragons, come in a variety of different colors and dispositions. Chromatic dragons are typically evil, greedy, vain and selfish creatures, while metallic dragons are noble, kind, good and wise.

All dragons have a very efficient metabolism and can consume and digest practically anything, including inorganic material like metal and gems.

They are also covetous and enjoy collecting a variety of valuable items, like gems and coins of all descriptions.

DAMAGE
Dragons are powerful creatures and have a number of attacks, including:
Breath Weapon
Alternate Bite
Alternate Claw
Alternate Wing Buffet
Alternate Slam
Alternate Tail Slap
Alternate Tail Crush

BREATH WEAPON
All dragons have at least one breath weapon, though some species may have two.

MOVEMENT
All dragons can Fly and run at rank 6, some dragons can also swim or have other movement abilities.

FRIGHTFUL PRESENCE
All dragons who are young adults or older can scare the crud out of most critters.

SPELLS
Dragons can cast spells depending on PL level and some have spell-like abilities in addition to their abilities to cast spells.

IMMUNITIES
Immortality (Immunity Aging, Half Effect): As they grow older, they grow larger, stronger and more powerful, ranging from just a few feet tall/long at birth to over 120 feet at the great wyrm stage.

All dragons are immune to sleep/paralysis. Dragons may also have additional immunities depending on type.

SENSES
Dragons have True Sight (counters all concealment), Darkvision, Low Light Vision, Acute/Analytical/Extended 2 Sight/Scent/Hearing

SKILLS
All dragons have have skill points equal to (6 + Int modifier, minimum 1). Most Dragons purchase the following skills at the maximum ranks possible: Perception, Insight, Persuasion, Intimidation, Stealth, Expertise Magic, Expertise (choose 1)

FEATS
All dragons have 1 advantage, plus 1 advantage per age rank.
