I've been trying to capture the flavor and spirit of the monster's manual as much as I could with these creatures. So I've pretty much been going off what's listed in the Monster's Manual. For some of these monsters, they're listed as mages, for others, they aren't. So I try to keep as close to what's listed as possible.

Locathah are fish-like humanoids who dwell in warm aquatic environments. Mostly neutral, they tend to live and let live, unless provoked. When they are provoked, they will typically attack the intruder at a distance with crossbows and give cover to their spearmen. They lack any natural weapons, so if they are disarmed, they will flee.

Detect Emotions on a Were Bear seems odd to me... What other than OMGOMGOMGOMG are they going to detect ? :lol:

It's in the write-up as animal empathy limited to other bears. So I just made it as regular empathy. It works whether or not they are in were-bear form or not.

I was just bugging you. :P

I kinda like these - great inspiration. The complication of the curse of lycanthropy is a little odd though. I get it's the better place to put it as affliction wise the other way I can think of is a rather clunky Summon effect (best left in the hands of the GM)... I just find it... odd... that the bear gets a HP when it bites someone as that person might turn into a wearbear...

It's not just bear or hybrid form. You can get it while the critter is in humanoid form as well. A bite is simply the most common way. You could get it through a blood transfusion or errr.. Ahem. :twisted:

Still question it being a Complication though. Perhaps more of a Plot Device ?

Getting a HP every time he, er, gets some is odd...

Lol. It's a small chance, like 5%. But I didn't know how else to write it up. In some genres it's akin to magical HIV or STD in others it's a curse, in some rare instances, it's even a blessing. So yeah.... Lycanthropy is weird.

Wild boars are scary foes. They're quick on their feet, fearless and easily pissed off and they will charge you rather than run away. They also aren't picky eaters. Were-boars take those traits and up them to eleven.
