The Black Star Sapphires Brainstorm & Notes

The Black Star Sapphires
Premise: “For hearts long lost beyond blackest pitch / Deeper than the deepest night / Fallen from love as vast as the largest ocean / Made colder than the coldest ice / I call upon the King of Hearts who stands wreathed in violet flames upon the Sea of Chaos / I call upon thee and swear myself to thee / I stand ready to bear the strength you give me / Let those fools who stand before me be destroyed / By the power you and I possess / Burn in our power — Black Sapphire’s Light!”
Required Inclusions:
- Bellatrix’s marriage to Rodolphus Lestrange must have been a loveless, arranged sham.
- Bella must begin to lose her faith in love, drawing the attention of one of the five Star Sapphire Crystals that exist in the universe and are used to enforce the Zamaron ideal of love.
- Bella must also have somehow wound up on Privet Drive on the same night that Dumbledore decides to leave Harry Potter with the Dursley family.
- The Star Sapphire Crystal cannot appear any earlier than when Bella has actually picked Harry up off the front stoop of the Dursley residence.
- The Star Sapphire Crystal must somehow affect both Bella and Harry simultaneously, instead of affecting JUST Bella the way that the Zamarons would have preferred for it to have done.
- The Crystal’s influence must cause Bella to decide to take Harry and raise him as her own child.
- Upon making that decision, Bellatrix must also decide to leave Great Britain and raise Harry elsewhere. She must also opt to homeschool Harry in the use of his magic and other abilities.
- Harry must not return to Magical Britain any earlier than the day on which his name comes out of the Goblet of Fire (author’s discretion on how his name is able to come out of the Goblet).
Preferred Inclusions:
- The magic of Lily’s sacrifice being responsible for altering the Star Sapphire Crystal in such a way that it no longer compels those it is bonded to to seek out a mate in order to crystalize the planet they happen to be on. Compulsion to seek out a mate itself, is still allowed.
- The Star Sapphire Crystal being responsible for enabling both Bella and Harry the ability to cast magic wandlessly.
- Bella and Harry being somewhat unique amongst the entirety of the Lantern Corps in that they do not answer to any of the Guardians or their counterparts, even if they may work with the members of other Lantern Corps without much fuss.
- Bellatrix choosing to join the Justice League.
- Harry choosing to join either the Teen Titans or Young Justice.
- Bellatrix choosing to blood adopt Harry, or else the Crystal managing to achieve the same effect for them without Bella immediately being aware of this fact.

Repeated Stat Blocks
- Shayera Hol is a major character in this idea, however as I haven't really modified her stat block all that much from the build I made for her in "The Beckoning Tides" I won't be reposting her stat block at this time. The only real difference is that I dropped the references to the Old Ones in her relationships complication and replaced it with a reference to her interest in John Stewart.

Complications
- By the Power You and I Possess: Harry is very closely bonded with the Predator Entity, and can when in dire straights, call upon that bond by reciting his Lantern Oath, spending a Hero Point and succeeding on a DC 22 Will Check. He is allowed a +3 bonus to the Will check, and if he succeeds he basically becomes the Embodiment of the Predator Entity for however long that the Predator Entity deems it's presence necessary. While in this state, Harry has no control over his actions as it is the Predator Entity who is behind the driver's seat at that point in time.
- Fame: Harry is famed throughout the magical world for their belief that he is solely responsible for the defeat of the Dark Lord Voldemort, and because he is rumored to have survived being hit with the Killing Curse. In reality, it was the loving sacrifice of his mother's life that enabled his survival and said defeat.
- Motivation: Doing Good: Harry wishes to use his abilities to make a difference in the universe, striving to spread love throughout it, and not the love that the Zamarons envision, but authentic and true love.
- Prejudice: Harry and his mother are the only two members of what they refer to as the "Black Sapphire Corps", which means they are unwelcome on the world of Zamaron, despite being able to travel there using their powers if they so wished. This is because their goals are opposed to those of the Zamarons.
- Quirk: Both Harry and his adoptive mother, Bellatrix Back (formerly Lestrange) are utterly obsessed with the anime franchise known as the "Slayers", and have patterned their Star Sapphire abilities after that franchise. Also, while he doesn't need to, Harry will frequently say the full incantation for the Dragon Slave while charging his version of it up before using it.
- Relationship: Harry is the biological son of the late Lily & James Potter, as well as the blood adopted son of Bellatrix Black (formerly Lestrange). He also considers the Green Lantern John Stewart to be an older brother figure, and tries to ignore the googly eyes his adoptive mother makes towards both John and Shayera Hol. He is also becoming aware of his own feelings for fellow Teen Titan Member, Rachel Roth.

- I am the Predator!: While in this form, Harry is no longer Harry Potter, but rather he is the Predator Entity, the embodiment of all love that exists anywhere in the entire universe, and one of the most powerful things that actually exists in all of creation. He is something that loves fiercely, and which will destroy all those who stand in opposition to the concept of love, or else force them to find the love that has been within their hearts all along! However, despite the fact that he is the Predator Entity in this form, he still suffers from all of Harry's normal complications.

Complications
- For Hearts Long Lost: Bellatrix still occasionally suffers from bouts of depression brought on by nightmarish memories of what her life was like before Harry entered it. During these times she isn't properly able to channel the Violet Light due to not having the proper emotional state of mind to do so.
- Motivation: Thrills: Beyond her wish to spread love throughout the universe, Bella really just wants to have fun with her life. That is largely why she purchased a home that has the ability to use muggle technology and has had it outfitted with all the latest in both muggle and magical entertainment features.
- Prejudice: Bella and Harry are the only two members of what they refer to as the "Black Sapphire Corps", which means they are unwelcome on the world of Zamaron, despite being able to travel there using their powers if they so wished. This is because their goals are opposed to those of the Zamarons.
- Quirk: Like Harry, Bella is utterly obsessed with the anime franchise known as "Slayers" and has patterned her Star Sapphire abilities after attacks from that series.
- Relationships: Bellatrix is the eldest sister of the three Black Sisters, the daughter of Cygnus and Druella Black, as well as being the de facto head of the House of Black, even if her cousin Sirius is the Head of said House in a purely legal sense of the concept. She is also the adoptive mother of Harry Potter by means of a bizarre form of Blood Adoption that occured when the Star Sapphire Crystal first made contact with Bella due to Harry having been in her arms at the time.
- Reputation: Star Sapphire: When the Zamarons first found the planet they now call home, they found a large crystaline structure located between two mummified bodies. They immediately decided that crystal was the ultimate expression of love, never realizing it to be a parasite that would lower the inhibitions of anyone it came into contact with to exceedingly horrific levels. This has led to a situation where each of the five women, excepting Bellatrix, who has one of these crystals has become obsessed with one specific person to the point where at least one of those women encased an entire planet in violet crystals so she could always be with her 'lover' after she finally snagged him. This has made most people extremely cautious when dealing with anyone who draws power from one of those gems the way Bella does. Hers however has been rendered far less yandere than the others thanks to Lily's sacrificial magic.

Complications
- Enemies: The Green Lantern Corps as a whole tend to be very antagonistic towards the members of the Sinestro Corps, which makes sense considering they have fundamentally opposed ideologies.
- Motivation: Justice: The Sinestro Corps is an organization that basically embodies the "Lawful Evil" alignment from Dungeons and Dragons, and as would tend to go hand-in-hand with such a concept, they tend to believe that they are actually working towards a noble cause. Lyssa is no different in that regard than any of her comrades within the Sinestro Corps.
- Power Loss: It really isn't as big of an issue for Lyssa as it is for other Sinestro Corps Members, but the fact remains that her Qwardian Power Ring occasionally needs to be recharged and it will issue a warning when it is in need of such a thing. Usually this just results in her drawing on the energy of a ring belonging to someone who died in one of the Fear Lodges via the Book of Parallax.
- Quirk: Lyssa seems to abhor footwear. Also, the name "Lyssa" may sound sexy, but on Earth it is also a Greek word that translates into English as "Rabies"
- Reputation: The Book of Parallax holds the life story of every member of the Sinestro Corps, and every atrocity they have done in the name of fear, and since Lyssa is both the keeper of said book and a consumate storyteller, she has something of a reputation as being one of the creepiest hot librarians in all of existence.

Complications
- Enemy: Laira absolutely despises the Sinestro Corps for what happened to the man of her dreams as well as his family. Ke'Hann was the person who trained Laira as a Green Lantern and both held mutual attraction for each other, however he denied her due to his wish to remain true to his wife. - Weakness: A major weakness of the Red Lantern Corps is that the ring is not only capable of sustaining their life after having their heart damaged or destroyed, but it also replaces the entirety of their blood with caustic plasma that while capable of sustaining their life, will very likely kill them if their Ring is ever removed from their body and it will likely do so in a horribly gory and violent manner. It should be noted that an assortment of deus ex machina exist to overcome this weakness, the most common of which is the Blue Light of Hope.

Complications
- Motivation: Responsibility: John is at heart a professional soldier and a man of duty. He takes his role as one of Earth's protectors very seriously, a fact which can at times lead him into conflict with those who aren't as serious about their duties as he is. He also strongly believes those with great power must be held accountable for their actions.
- Power Loss: As is the case with every Power Ring except for the Red ones due to what they do to a host, John's Power Ring occasionally requires recharging. Like all other Power Rings, his will issue warnings before it loses power so he can find a power battery to recharge it at.
- Prejudice: John has spent so many years away from Earth while both training to become a proper Green Lantern and as an active participant in the Sinestro Corps War, that he tends to have a hard time fitting in with the everyday citizens of Earth now that he has returned to the planet.
- Quirk: John's use of his Lantern Ring tends to be either unimaginative and straightforward, resulting in stereotypical beam spam, or else falls along the lines of the sorts of weaponry he is most familiar with from his days as a serviceman in the US Marine Corps.
- Relationship: John is the son of Shirley Stewart as well as the brother of Rose Stewart. He was essentially who has been teaching Harry & Bella how to channel Lantern Energy, even if they have both decided to blatantly ignore his advice on what sort of constructs to use. He also has a crush on Katma Tui, the Green Lantern responsible for training him in the use of his own Lantern Ring. He is unfortunately oblivious to the interest that both Bella and Shayera are directing towards him, at least at the moment.
- Secret: John hides a streak of playfulness and sentimentality behind his professional decorum. When he is in a situation where he feels completely safe, he might be willing to show those characteristics off. To date, the only people outside of his immediate family who have seen it, are Harry Potter and Bellatrix Black, and John likely would have been horribly embarrassed if he knew Bella had witnessed his antics.

Complications
- Hatred: Queen Aga'po is not at all happy that Bellatrix Lestrange and her adoptive son are not following her vision of how the Star Sapphires are supposed to be operating, and has found it virtually impossible to marshal the other Star Sapphires against them due to their singleminded focus on their own obsessions.
- Obsession: Queen Aga'po is the leader of the Zamarons, a civilization that long ago was part of the same species as the Oans (Guardians of the Universe). The split off over a disagreement in how to administer the universe, and have now found what they believe to be the ideal method. That method is by attaching Star Sapphire Gems to various women and having them mate with Green Lanterns, thereby killing them and in the process crystalizing the planet that the act of passion occured upon. They do not really see anything wrong with this at the current time.

My Little Sis, Jack the Ripper
Premise: Harry was abandoned and left alone, until he was adopted by a woman called Reika Rikudou. She may not have been a truly suitable mother, but when they are kidnapped by a Magus called Hyouma Sagara to summon the spirit of Jack the Ripper, well, Harry soon finds himself in a war neither he nor his mother wanted to take part in, but thanks to these Magi, he has no choice…
Required Inclusions:
- Harry Potter is adopted by Reika Rikudou. Some time after his adoption the two of them are abducted by Hyouma Sagara to be used as sacrifices for summoning Assassin of Black, aka Jack the Ripper, in the Great Holy Grail War. However, by the end of it, Sagara is killed by Jackie, and Harry, instead of Reika, ends up as Jackie's Master.
- Harry's relationship with Jackie, once the initial shock is gone, MUST be that of a big brother / little sister. Both are protective of each other and, if Reika survives, of Reika. Also, Harry gets Jackie new clothes. This is not negotiable.
- Because of what happened, Harry, and thus Jackie, have a vendetta against the Black Faction, though they can potentially be allied with certain Masters (Fiore, and Roche) and Servants (pretty much anyone save for Lancer and Caster). That being said, Harry (and therefore Jackie) MUST be distrustful of the Red Faction, though they can ally themselves with Kairi Sisigou and Mordred.
- Unlike in canon, Harry cannot send Jackie to kill innocents, though he will willingly send her to attack both Red and Black Faction Magi if he can get away with it.
- Grey or Dark Harry.
Preferred Inclusions:
- WBWL story and/or a Female Harry
- Merged Nasuverse/Potterverse
- When Sagara summons Jackie, he actually kills Reika, leading to Harry swearing revenge against the Black Faction.
- Harry and Jackie, because they don't trust the Red or Black Factions, ally themselves with Ruler and Sieg… leading to some interesting interactions between Jackie and Jeanne d'Arc, considering what happens in canon.
- Harry and Jackie manage to capture Caules, and while interrogating him they discover he’s a bit of a wimp. In return for his life and their protection of his sister, he offers them control of his Servant, the Monster of Frankenstein and Berserker of Black.

Complications
- Enemies: Because of what happened to his adoptive mother, Harry now views the Black Faction of the Great Holy Grail War as his personal enemies, even if he is technically a member of that same faction. It can also be said that he is the enemy of the Dark Lord Voldemort, but he is mostly unaware of that fact at the moment, having learned magic as a guest student at Mahoutokoro rather than Hogwarts, a school that is almost entirely disconnected from affairs in Britain.
- Motivation: Doing Good: Despite the fact that he is the Master of an Assassin, and that he is willing to execute the sort of plans that an Assassin is best suited to, the fact remains that Harry is first and foremost someone who believes in causing as little harm to innocent lives as he possibly can. This is why he and Jackie will be targeting Masters rather than Servants with their efforts.
- Relationships: Harry and his sister, Maybelle Potter, were left in the care of two different families so that they would not both be in danger if the worst should happen and a Death Eater attack occured at the home they were left at. While his sister was left with a Wizarding family, Harry was left with the Dursleys, and they did the worst thing imaginable and abandoned him in some foreign city. This led to him being found by Rikudou Reika and later adopted by her. The two would eventually make their way to Romania, where they we abducted and Reika was killed in the process of summoning Jack the Ripper for the Great Holy Grail War. Harry then became Jackie's new Master when she subsequently killed the bastard who had summoned her using the worst possible method for it.

Complications
- Mental Interference: It is impossible for people who do not possess at least the same level of mental interference as Jackie to come to a mutual understanding with her. Fortunately, Harry possesses such a level of mental interference due to his own abandonment. She also tends to use the words "we", "us" and "our" in place of "I", "me" and "my" and if push comes to shove, can manifest a form of illusion that shows just how shattered her mind is as a Power Stunt.
- Motivation: Greed: All Jackie really wants is to be loved, and to have the family she never had. Harry strives to give her that in as best a manner as he is able to do, even if he is not the one whose wish to live allowed her to be summoned in the first place.
- Quirk: Jackie tends to be a bit of a kuudere in how her emotions display. She is also a yandere to some extent.
- Reputation: Jackie is rather infamous as one of histories most prolific serial killers. If it were to become known that she is active in the world once again the panic would be utterly spectacular.
- Technology Incompetent: Jackie has absolutely no idea what to do with technology more advanced than that which existed in the 19th Century, and would need to fumble around with it if she had to actually try using it before she actually managed to do anything useful with the stuff.

The Moment to Fight
Premise: “A warning to the people, the good and the evil… This is war. To the soldier, the civilian, the martyr, the victim… This is war. It’s the moment of truth, and the moment to lie, and the moment to live, and the moment to die, the moment to fight, the moment to fight, to fight, to fight, to FIGHT!!!”
Required Inclusions:
- The story must start after Dumbledore reveals the prophecy to Harry, which results in him going to the Room of Requirement and upon doing so, discovering a portal to another reality.
- In this new reality, Harry must become a Green Lantern in time to take part in the events of either Green Lantern: Emerald Knights or else Green Lantern: The Animated Series.
- Harry must be paired with at least Laira Omoto from his new reality.
- Harry must eventually, after being trained properly, return to his original world in order to deal with Voldemort once and for all.
- Dumbledore must at least once, attempt to bring Harry back to Potterverse against his will.
- Harry must at some point join the Green Lantern Honor Guard, marking him as having served with extreme distinction within the Green Lantern Corps.
- At least one of the Star Sapphire Corps members must develop an attraction towards Harry and try there darndest to get him to form a relationship with her, whether she succeeds or not is strictly optional as far as this fic is concerned.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry’s parents, or at least one of them, being in some way connected to his new reality, such as perhaps Harry is the son of Trigon or something similar to that.
- During the events of Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, one of the stories told to Arisia must revolve around Harry’s exploits as a Green Lantern, assuming this option is used.
- Harry acting as Arisia’s mentor when she joins the Green Lanterns, and the two developing a sibling-esque relationship with each other, rather than a romantic one.
Optional Inclusions:
- When he fell through the Veil of Death, Sirius somehow ended up in the DC Universe.
- Harry having an antagonistic relationship with one of the other human Green Lanterns, possibly because he also has a friendly relationship with Sinestro despite the latter being a criminal.
Forbidden Things:
- Harry being taken back to his original reality before he is ready.
- Harry being unable to use his Lantern Ring in his original reality.

Justification for a Green Lantern having magic
- For those who will be quick to argue that a Green Lantern can't utilize magic, I would kindly point you in the direction of the Green Lantern of Space Sector 3521, Torquemada. He is specifically noted to be a Sorcerer, and while he likely practices Sorcery as it is known in DC Comics, I see no reason to prohibit a spellcaster from Potterverse from using a Green Lantern Ring when precedent for a spellcaster to use those rings already exists.

Other Notes
- One major change I have decided on is the use of the Galactic Authority aspect of the Benefit series of advantages. This is explained below:
- Benefit: Galactic Authority
  1. A Green Lantern Sector Guardian. These folks are empowered to cross interplanetary borders and offer assistance to those in need. Local Authorities still have more power in local matters than they do, but will usually be cooperative in helping the Lantern Corps members in doing their jobs.
  2. A Green Lantern Galactic Guardian. These folks tend to be empowered to uphold peace at a galactic level, and actually outrank the local authorities. Most of Earth's GL's fall into this category, even if they do not fit into the Honor Guard themselves.
  3. The Green Lantern Honor Guard. These folks are considered to be galactic authorities that are on par with planetary world leaders in terms of how much authority they actually possess when they visit a given planet, even if the citizens of Earth would never acknowledge them as having such authority. This is also where the Alpha Lanterns would fit.
  4. The Guardians of the Universe and their counterparts. This is the highest rank you can have in this advantage, and you can only select this rank if you have been recognized as being equal to the Guardians of the Universe. The only way a human could obtain this rank, is if they were the Host of one of the Entities that power the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum.
- In other news, I have decided I will need to rebuild the vast majority of stat blocks for this due to having done them wrong in my previous build as far as I am concerned... at least as far as the DC Comics characters are concerned.

- Enemies: Beyond just the typical enemies of the Green Lantern Corps and Justice League, Harry is also the enemy of the Dark Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters, and has spent a long time in training among the Green Lanterns in preparation for his ultimate confrontation with Voldemort.

- Hatred: Arisia hates it when people are being particularly stupid, and would be more than happy punch even a Guardian of the Universe in the face if they are being particularly stupid... or well, maybe one day she'll be willing to do so.
- Legacy Title: Uniquely among the Green Lantern Corps, the role of being the Green Lantern of Arisia's sector is actually inherited among the members of Arisia's family and she is simply the most recent Ring Bearer to come from a long line of Ring Bearers.
- Motivation: Doing Good: Arisia desperately wants to do good by the universe, which is part of why she accepted the Green Lantern Ring, rather than letting it pass on to someone else.
- Prejudice: Thirteen years on Arisia's home planet is equivalent to 234 years on Earth. Does anyone care that Arisia is 234 Earth Years of age when deciding who it is and isn't appropriate for her to date? Absolutely not! She looks 13 and acts 13; therefore she is 13 as far as anyone on Earth is concerned!

Arisia's Age: I decided to use the idea that 18 Earth years is equal to 1 Graxosian year, instead of the notion that 13 Graxosian years is equal to 240 Earth years, since that didn't make for figuring out her actual age nearly as nicely beyond the point where she'd be 13 years of age. I'm also not rating the Graxosians as worth having a Longevity feature or Immunity to aging since it isn't likely to become an issue given the fact that Arisia tends to use her Lantern Ring to age herself to an appropriate physical age for romantic pursuits whenever it becomes necessary for PLOT!
