Brainiac & Cyborg Superman

Are largely part of Kara and Clark centric story arcs and probably won't be featured as anything more than offhanded comments. They aren't the crux of the story I plan on telling in this setting, and as such if their stat blocks will be largely unchanged from how they appear in the various DC Adventures sourcebooks.

Also worth noting, is that Atrocitus is likewise largely unaltered and thus not getting a new stat block.

Complications
- 1st Corinthians 15:26: Nekron is the physical manifestation of the concept of death as a cosmic certainty and as the ultimate opponent and opposing force to all life that exists. Meanwhile, Death of the Endless is the manifestion (physical or otherwise) of concept of the cycle of life, death and rebirth. Of the two, it is Nekron who 1st Corinthians 15:26 was specifically referring to when it said "The last enemy to be destroyed is Death."
- Avatar of Unlife: Nekron is the incarnation of a fundamental, primal concept and is therefore tied to certain actions and pursuits—its drive towards its goal to return the universe to unliving darkness is all-consuming.
- Locked Out: The Lord of the Unliving cannot exist in the physical realm without the energies accumulated by the Black Lanterns to anchor it, and it would take a fundamental restructuring of its realm’s relationship with the physical universe (such as a direct rift connecting them) to allow it direct access.
- Mythic Weakness: Nekron is vulnerable to certain divine energies and the life-infusing powers of the Entity, which is the living embodiment of the White Light. Ironically, despite being the avatar of the darkness that preceded genesis, Nekron is also vulnerable to the powers of The Nightwing, since Nightwing's divine mandate is to pursue and eradicate things like Nekron in the first place.

Explanation: I have seen a series of comic panels that are apparently completely canonical for DC Comics, even if they looked like the artist was high on something while doing the artwork, where Clark Kent (New Earth) delivered a nasty right hook to an entity that claimed to be Death, which subsequently caused both of them to fall into the absurdly gigantic black hole that was forming as a result of the Big Crunch at the end of all time. Now I will not buy any argument that says something as ugly as the thing Clark punched into that black hole happened to be Death of the Endless, therefore I firmly believe it had to be Nekron.

In other words, the Power Level 15 build of Clark Kent can and did solo Nekron at one point, which drops him way down from a Power Level X threat to a mere Power Level 16 threat... 17 at the absolute highest. Regardless, Clark once again demonstrated his ability to ignore logic in the aftermath of that as he flew right back out of said singularity and managed to make it home in time for din-din.

Incidentally, Death of the Endless would definitely class as a Power Level X character any time she is encountered except for the one day every year where she makes herself mortal for a full 24 hours to simply enjoy mortality. During such times, I'd probably give her stats similar to a bystander minion, just with a variable power to represent her ability to palette swap skills and advantages on a whim. It should be noted, the Peverell brother's encountered Death of the Endless, not Nekron, simply due to the "Locked Out" complication that Nekron has.

Regarding the Bible Verse: For those who don't already know, that is actually the epitaph on the grave's of James and Lily Potter in the canonical Harry Potter novels, which is why I feel comfortable using it in a list of builds that includes Harry Potter as a member of the cast. If anyone has an issue with that... blame J.K. Rowling, not me.

Why I made Nekron and not William Hand: The main reason is William Hand has a perfectly viable stat block in DC Adventures Heroes & Villains, while Nekron doesn't as they classed him a "Power Level X" entity, which is entirely unfair of them to do since they allow you to give stats to the other Lantern Entities should you choose to do so.

Dark Angel Brainstorm & Notes

Dark Angel
Premise: When Charles Xavier returned to England on a quest to investigate a newly awakened mutant, he never imagined it would result in the discovery of the child of one of his earliest students. Moreover, this child is one that was completely unintentional on the part of said First Class member.
Required Inclusions:
- Lily must have for some reason slept with Warren Worthington III (also known as Angel or Archangel). This must have resulted in the pregnancy that led to the birth of Harry.
- Harry must inherit his father’s wings, though in Harry’s case they must match his hair color in that they are black instead of the white that Warren’s tend to be.
- At some point, Harry must be discovered as a mutant by Xavier, or Emma Frost, and brought into the fold. Whether Warrington is alerted to this fact or not is up to the author.
- Harry must develop a Secondary Mutation either before or after meeting the X-Men. This leads to his wings developing a red pattern through the middle of them. What it does is discretionary.
- Harry must visit Hogwarts at least once during his lifetime. This is probably best done in response to his name coming out of the Goblet of Fire.
- Harry must not join the X-Men as a full-time member. It is discretionary if he joins the Brotherhood or any of the other organizations that exist for superpowered characters.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry being paired with any of the following: Rachel Summers, Hope Summers, Lorna Dane, Wanda Maximoff, Illyana Rasputina, Kitty Pryde, Rahne Sinclair, or Amora the Enchantress.
- Harry joining S.H.I.E.L.D. once he is an adult, which is how he meets Wanda Maximoff and winds up dating her, assuming Wanda is chosen as a pairing option.
- The events of the Avengers films taking place during the course of the story.
- Harry having been tutored in magic independent of any of the magic schools.
Optional Inclusions:
- Harry’s wings somehow being immune to the effects of magic.
- Bashing of Ron, Molly and Ginny, but not of Dumbledore or Hermione.

Complications
- Enemies: While Harry is largely unaware of the threat as of the moment, the fact remains that the Dark Lord Voldemort wishes for Harry's demise, and that he has the ability to cajole his followers into trying their hardest to help him achieve that goal, even if he would prefer to be the one to deliver the fatal blow himself.
- Hard Facts to Hide: Harry has a rather sizeable pair of angelic wings that make it abundantly obvious that he is a mutant. This makes it very difficult for him to blend in with the vast majority of humanity, as they tend to have a bit of a hard time accepting mutants as anything less than abnormal, if not a threat to their own livelihood.
- Motivation: Doing Good: Harry is one of the most altruistic out of all the students to attend Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, and while he isn't particularly interested in joining the X-Men on a long term basis, he does occasionally help them out when he is available to do so.
- Power Loss: Harry's Stamina power can only be used once per month (in addition to requiring the Fortitude check to activate it). He also needs to have free use of his hands in order to use both his Force Feathers array and his High Sorcery array, while the latter also requires him to be able to speak.
- Relationship: Harry has learned how to perform magic from Illyana Rasputina, and the two have formed quite a close relationship to each other because of it. Harry is one of the few people in the X-Mansion who is able to see her as the beautiful young lady she happens to be, rather than the little girl most of them remember. He also has an offer on the table to join the Avenger Initiative.

Complications
- Accident: If Ilyana uses Extra Effort in conjunction with her Teleportation Disc array, she must immediately make a DC 24 Will check. Failure on that check will cause both Illyana and any passangers on the jump to wind up in completely random locations as determined by the narrator. They aren't guaranteed to all wind up in the same place either.
- Darkchylde: While it is represented using the Holding Back advantage, Darkchylde works slightly differently to the typical usage of that advantage. Illyana does not need to wait for dire situations to arise in order to shift into her Darkchylde form, however she still must spend a Hero Point and pass a DC 24 Will check in order to succeed in doing so. Once in that form, she is dependent on the whims of her darker self, the so called Darkchylde.
- Motivation: Recognition: Illyana wants to be recognized by all her loved ones as more than the little girl that they all remember her to be, which is quite possibly the reason she gets so homicidal against her enemies.
- Power Loss: When she is not actively inside of Limbo, Illyana loses the ability to cast all of her High Sorcery effects except for the Astral Projection effect, and even that will have it's Effect Rank Impaired while she is outside of Limbo. When inside of Limbo, Illyana needs to either have her Soul Sword in hand as a focus, or have her hands free to perform the necessary gestures in order to cast her spells. She also needs to be able to speak.
- Relationship: Illyana is the younger sister of Colossus, the soul-kindred of Katherine 'Kitty' Pryde, and the girlfriend of Harry Potter.

Complications
- Curse Sworn: Wanda and her brother have made a Faustian agreement with a being calling himself Ultron due to their selfish desire to get revenge upon the Avengers. They do not quite realize yet just how foolish they have been.
- Glass Cannon: Wanda is very powerful offensively, but not so much defensively speaking. It only takes a few good solid hits to cause Wanda to fold like a piece of paper.
- Motivation: Justice: The reason that Wanda is doing what she is doing, is because she spent a couple of days buried alive next to the corpse of her mother after their home was destroyed by a missile attack that utilized Stark Industries technology. Her brother fared no better as he was buried next to their father.
- Plot Device: Theoretically, Wanda has the power to alter the very fabric of reality, placing her in the same league as Jean Grey in terms of just how powerful she actually is. Practically speaking though, she probably won't get much more powerful than this stat block shows her to be.
- Relationships: Wanda is very close to her brother, Pietro Maximoff and would be devastated should anything happen to him.
- Rivalry: Induced vs. Natural: Wanda and her brother Pietro are what one might call "Induced Mutants" due to the way in which their X-Gene was activated. While they definitely had the potential to awaken their X-Genes naturally, that isn't how it happened. As such, they can sometimes feel a bit of jealousy for those who have awakened theirs naturally.

Complications
- Disability: While Daphne doesn't suffer from the worst parts of her family's curse, the fact remains that her vitality has been somewhat damaged by the curse, and she isn't ever going to be as physically fit as certain other archers might be capable of becoming.
- Motivation: Patriotism: Daphne views her duty to the Crown of England as her most important calling in life, and would never betray it so thoroughly as to join the Death Eaters.
- Prejudice: Daphne is often subject to ridicule, suspicion and hatred simply due to the House she was sorted into as a First Year student at Hogwarts. This is never more true than when it pertains to the members of Gryffindor House, particularly those who are from the Weasley family.

Complications
- Hatred: Tracey does not particularly like Albus Dumbledore due to the fact that he has managed to convince legislators within the vast majority of the ICW nations to make her particular choice in weaponry illegal to use. If she were to use it, she would be facing a rather hefty fine at the very least, if not prison time.
- Motivation: Recognition: Tracey wants to be recognized as a world class swordswoman, but due to the legislation that has been passed against her chosen blade she is being forced to learn a different weapon which is taking more time than she would have liked.
- Prejudice: Not only is Tracey facing the same prejudices that Daphne does for having been sorted into Slytherin House, but she also faces prejudices from her fellow members of Slytherin House for being a Half-Blood who somehow managed to get sorted to said House.
- Relationship: Tracey's relationship with her father is somewhat strained, while her relationship with most other Pure-Bloods is practically non-existent. The exception to that general rule is with regards to the Greengrass family, who have all but adopted her. She is somewhat close with her mother, when she can manage to meet with the woman.

Build Comments: Well now, this was something of a surprise. This is as close to an exact conversion for Steve Rogers as I can get, circa the first Avengers movie using his MSHRPG stats as presented by Ben Riley, and good golly but I wasn't expecting to wind up with a PL 15 stat block when I started building him, but sure enough I did. This puts him at the same level as where most people put Thor, which makes me wonder where the conversion of Thor is going to wind up when I get around to him... One thing to note, I left him under-capped on his attack rolls just in case he deflects something that has a higher damage rank than his shield normally possesses on it's own.

Incidentally, out of all the Avengers, Captain America is THE most famous one. He has the same MSHRPG popularity as Ben Riley gave to Superman.

Complications
- Enemies: Tony is one of the richest men in the world. What is more, his family made it's fortune by providing weapons to both the United States Military, and unfortunately also pretty much anyone else who has a black market connection. To say Tony has enemies is a massive understatement!
- Motivation: Thrills: Tony doesn't quite get the point of being a hero, he is really just doing this for the high octane thrills he gets from the gig. Oh sure, occasionally there is some personal reason for him to do something heroic, like all those times he's had to save Pepper's life...
- Plot Device: Tony's actual Power Level really is dependent upon which specific version of his Iron Man Armor he happens to be wearing at any given point in time. Without the armor, he is more or less dependant on his skill ranks to give any determination of his Power Level, which is to say he is Power Level 11.
- Rivalry: With Gilgamesh of Uruk, only because it is Gilgamesh who you have to look to in order to get an idea of who might actually be more arrogant than Tony is.
- Weakness: The Arc Reactor can be removed in the same way that one would remove a Device with the "Removable" flaw, however if such a thing were to happen, Tony would instantly be inflicted with the Disabled condition, and would be in grave danger as it is possible he will die if too long passes without the magnet.
- Will They or Won't They: Tony and Pepper Potts are totally into each other, but neither one of them seems to be able to tell the other one that fact. Ultimately the question is a matter of when enough will just be enough and one of them asks the other a googolplex dollar question.

Builder's Complaint: As of the latest movie in the MCU, this guy has something like 50 suits of armor and counting. The problem with this is, the suits tend to have very different weapon load-outs from one another, and some don't even look anything like a stereotypical Iron Man Armor (Veronica & Igor, I'm looking at you two). In other words, I'm not bothering to stat this guy beyond this one stat block, and maybe also the Hulk Buster suit, as anything more than that would get to be a pain in my arse really, really fast.

Complications
- Fame: While Captain America is easily the most famous hero of Earth, Thor is probably one of, if not the, most famous heroes in the wider Milky Way galaxy.
- Honor: While Thor isn't a chivalrous knight, he is still a born and bred warrior of old, and thus he follows a rather antiquated code of honor that befits the time period that he is truly a part of.
- Motivation: Thrills: While Thor shares the quality of being a thrillseeker with Tony, the difference between the two men is that Thor actually understands what is at stake if he ever lets his thrillseeking get in the way of his heroics, and has unfortunately had the experiences where such things have happened to learn from.
- Power Loss: Mjolnir is indestructible in all situations EXCEPT when it involves someone who has ever been considered Worthy of wielding Mjolnir. This is a fatal flaw as it allows someone like Hela to take advantage of it.
- Relationship: While Thor absolutely adores his brother, Loki doesn't quite feel the same way due to the fact that Thor tends to steal all the spotlight moments that Loki keeps trying to obtain. Worst of all, Thor and most of Asgard believe Loki perished not to long ago when he fell off the Rainbow Bridge and gave him the one thing he truly desired, a Warrior's Funeral in absentia!

- Enemies: His biggest enemies are the various insurance companies who have to pay for any damage he causes when he is Hulked Out, because no one in their right mind is going to bother trying to force Bruce to pay for such things even if they might wish for his death. Other enemies include various militaries whose hardware he has destroyed when they try and bring him to heel.
- Motivation: Greed: Banner just wants to be left alone, is that too much to ask?
- Reputation: While Bruce has earned the necessary degrees to practice medicine and perform surgery, he hasn't managed to keep the associated licenses current, so technically each and every time that he uses his medical skills he is breaking one or any number of laws for doing so. Not that anyone would bother trying to prosecute him for such criminal activity on account of the Big Guy.
- Temper: You wouldn't like him when he's angry!

Build Comments: One huge difference between the Hulk in the MCU and the one in the comics, is that to the best of my knowledge the MCU's Hulk doesn't demonstrate any of those really interesting feats of strength that his comics counterpart tends to be known for. I don't recall ever seeing him clapping so hard as to send shockwaves through the very air or anything like that, so I didn't include an array for strength feats in this build, as such he wound up being a crap ton cheaper than he normally would have been.

In other words, Thor's maximum lift is 0.1% of what the Hulk can lift without having to use Extraordinary Effort.

Complications
- Disability: Due to her time undergoing training as an assassin in Russia's top secret "Red Room" project, Natalia has been forcibly sterilized and can no longer become a mother of her own biological children.
- Identity: Natalia does not like being called by her true name, and would much rather it if people referred to her by her adopted pseudonym of Natasha Romanoff.
- Motivation: Acceptance: Natalia's primary motivation is to atone for the heinous deeds of her past, which she refers to as "the red on (her) ledger."
- Relationship: Natalia's life changed from one of assassination into one of a dedicated spy when she herself was targeted for assassination. The operative that was to carry out the assassination was none other than Clinton Barton (Hawkeye). The two have since then formed a longstanding partnership as S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives.
- Reputation: Natalia's code name of "Black Widow" is not for show. She is a very gifted seductress and has had to go on quite a number of seduction missions where the death of the target was required at the conclusion of the Op. This has earned her some rather mixed opinions from her colleagues within S.H.I.E.L.D.

The Masterful PA Brainstorm & Notes

The Masterful PA
Premise: Serafall Leviathan couldn’t believe what she was hearing! It would seem Sirzechs and Ajuka both decided she needed a minder, and they assigned some human to do it for them. The only good thing about this is that the guy they found was kind of cute!
Required Inclusions:
- Harry must have left Great Britain both due to realizing he wasn’t getting much older than he had been during the fight with Voldemort, and because others had noticed too.
- Harry must somehow find his way to the Underworld, whereupon he makes the acquaintance of Ajuka Beelzebub or Sirzechs Lucifer and they decide to assign him to be Serafall’s PA.
- Serafall must not have been informed about this until after Harry starts his first day on the job, leading to any number of embarrassing situations. She also can’t be happy about it… at first.
- Harry must have figured out a means by which he can hide most of his power, and when it is fully revealed, he must be at least on par with a High Class Devil, if not stronger.
- Harry must not be made into an Evil Piece until AFTER the Peace Treaty is signed between the Three Factions of the Underworld, but conversely he must be in the Underworld before then.
- The primary pairing must be Harry / Serafall, any others are strictly optional. Also, Serafall is who Harry must be added to the Peerage of, rather than anyone else.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry winding up with a harem consisting of at least Serafall, Gabriel and Yasaka, if not others.
- Harry being made into an Evil Piece for Serafall after the two of them finish a prank war on each other that resulted from Serafall’s jealousy that Sona seemingly likes Harry more than her.
- The Prank War also results in Harry proposing to Serafall simply due to the fact neither one of them believes they can live without the other for long after the revelations of their miniature war.
- Serafall’s Peerage including at least one authentic magical girl from another franchise.
Optional Inclusions:
- Someone at least once making a comparison between Harry and Pepper Potts.
- Harry somehow managing to convince Serafall not to include Mil-tan in her Peerage.
- Harry winding up being made into Serafall’s Queen.
Forbidden Things:
- Harry the Emo Doormat.
- Harry in a romantic relationship with another male.

Breakdown of the Four Schools of Magic:
  • Theological: Practiced primarily by Angels & Fallen, but was once upon a time practiced by Devils as well. Devils have over the past several millennia since their creation forgotten how to use this branch of magic due to their refusal to associate with that more primal root of their nature. This magic draws upon the power of worship, and as such can also be practiced by Gods and Goddesses, provided they have sufficient worshipers to power their use of this magic.
  • Elemental: By and large, this is the branch of magic that you see most often in High School DxD, and also the one which enables the more destructive Wizarding Spells, such as Fiendfyre. It is powered by the raw and savage elemental forces that were described by Alchemists in the middle ages, though there are far more than just four such elements.
  • Spiritual: Possibly the most dangerous and also by far and away the most subtle of the four schools. This is the school that enables the vast majority of Wizarding Magic as it is powered primarily by the user's own soul and willpower forcing changes to occur on the world around them, rather than drawing upon the energy of the world around them to fuel it the way elemental magic tends to do. Since it is powered by the soul of the caster, it is also incredibly effective for attacking the soul of an adversary, which is where you get things like the Killing Curse and Torture Curse from.
  • Conceptual: This is far different from saying a spell is the "Power of Destruction", as it is reliant upon the concept of something as it is defined by the Common Sense of Mankind. If this were Nasuverse, then Conceptual Magic would also be termed True Sorcery, and there would only be five recognized spell archetypes that can currently be performed. This type of magic is largely the province of characters such as Ophis, Great Red and Trihexa.
Also Worth Noting:
  • Raw Magic: is the state that magic takes when two opposing forces, such as Holy and Unholy Theological Magic, come into contact with one another. This is why Light Spears tend to be such huge problems for Devils, because Raw Magic is actually lethal to all but the oldest and most ancient forms of life. This is the stuff that Conceptual Magic is actually made from, and why it is so dang rare for someone to be using Conceptual Magic.

Complications
- Curse Sworn: Being the Master of Death means Harry will not truly die until such time as he himself is well and truly tired of living and wishes to meet the Reaper on his own terms. On the other hand, it also means that he has certain responsibilities... responsibilities that have brought him to the Underworld.
- Holding Back: Harry has concealed the vast majority of his power behind a facade of mediocrity. However, in order for him to release his maximum power, over half the team he is fighting alongside of must be incapacitated, or else many innocent lives must be at stake (possibly including his own). Once either of those conditions is met, then he must spend a Hero Point and then make a DC 20 Will check, although he gains a +3 bonus on that check. If all goes well, he can access the "My Chains Are Gone" stat block accompanying this one.
- Motivation: Responsibility: During Harry's teenage years, he heard a great many bits of inspirational wisdom from Albus Dumbledore, and while the man had many faults the one thing he did say that Harry keeps in mind, even to this day is: "there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right."
- Relationships: Due to a messy break up between himself and Ginevra Weasley, Harry has been all but banned from seeing his children ever again. Therefore the only people in Great Britain who he has any fond feelings with anymore are the members of his Godfather's extended family. The Weasley's aren't however enemies as most of them just didn't like the fact that he seemed unaging.
