The Scelerati Society

Post by Michuru »

Leader: The Radical Tomato
Roster: Base of Operations: Various
First Appearance: Tabula Rasa #17-18
Significant Appearances: Tabula Rasa #2 (Ebb), Tabula Rasa #4 (Henbane), Tabula Rasa #6 (The Radical Tomato), Tabula Rasa #7 (Goo), Tabula Rasa #8 (Breeze), Tabula Rasa #11 (Courtney Rage), Tabula Rasa #13 (Baron Malevolence), Tabula Rasa #14 (Quake), Tabula Rasa #17-18, New Vindicators Academy of Europe #24

Goals: Each member of the Scelerati Society has personal ties to a student at the New Vindicators Academy. What the members of the Scelerati Society themselves were unaware of, was that their leader had a goal of his own. While he presented himself as wanting revenge against Eric Vaughn, the truth is that the Radical Tomato was really David Meinstein, who used a band of Neo-Sapien villains to frighten the public into believing that his creations—the Gilgamesh drones—could save them from future SPB attacks.

Biography: When Doohickey kidnapped Kim Forbes, the New Vindicators went to work in locating her. With Aisha’s abilities, they were able to quickly find an address where she was being held. After dealing with Doohickey’s Ersatz guards, the young heroes freed Kim and returned to the school.

Following the incident, Kim began acting out of character—behavior that those closest to her disregarded as a side-effect of her abilities. Kim seemed uninterested in her boyfriend and instead sought to spend as much time with his best-friend, Dirk, as she could.

As days went by, Kim successfully coerced some of the other girls—Aisha, Allegra, Cyndi, Josie, and Suzette—to accompany her on a girls’ night out. With the boys left behind, the girls went to spend an evening at Hell in a Handbasket… only to be ambushed by Breeze, Courtney Rage, Doohickey, and Henbane—four villains who had never before shared any affiliation. When Aisha, Allegra, Josie, and Suzette were taken down, Cyndi tried to escape with Aisha and Kim, only to learn that Kim was actually Goo.

As Cyndi fought five villains by herself, the rogue’s allies appeared on the school grounds. While posing as Kim, Goo was able to compromise the school’s security measures, allowing Baron Malevolence, Ebb, Henbane, and Quake to enter the academy undetected. In their attack, the foursome managed to capture three students: Derryl Isaacson, Drew Loder, and Josie Loder.

Responding to Cyndi’s distress call, Derryl, Dirk, Eric, and John managed to help her escape. As the five teens took stock over who among their friends were now counted among the abducted, the Radical Tomato launched another salvo. Hijacking radio, television, and wireless frequencies, the hacker sent out a message to every villain in the country.

With seven of the New Vindicators captured, the Radical Tomato claimed that the Vindicators would be scrambling to save their charges, making now the perfect time to strike. (Tabula Rasa #17)

Heeding the Radical Tomato’s advice, the Brownout Brothers attack the Federal Reserve while Inferno begins burning multiple synagogues; Pandemonium causes riots in Times Square as Rampage appears on Wall Street; Doctor Ciaphas begins to amass an army of the undead at Gettysburg while Vitriol attacks the Chicago news station where his ex-girlfriend works; the Order of Chaos makes a move on Alcatraz, while Deimos outright attacks the Vindicators’ headquarters in New York. One-by-one, reports of attacks come in and the Vindicators are stretched thin trying to contain it.

Cyndi wakes up to find Renegade at her bedside. With the rest of his team in the room, the vigilante vows to kill Breeze before he can come after Cyndi again, forcing the girl to stop him and save her enemy. She convinces him instead to work with the New Vindicators in finding the kidnapped students.

While John and Dirk move to stop the villains responding to the Radical Tomato’s call to action, Eric discovers that the Scelerati Society kidnapped the wrong Derryl Isaacson. Rather than his roommate, they left with the second Derryl to enroll at the school. Together, they begin working to track down the Society, only for Ebb to contact Eric. With the other Derryl buried underground in a sensory deprivation chamber, Ebb attempted to use Derryl as a hostage. As he demanded Aisha in exchange, Eric and Derryl realized that Ebb was unaware that his allies had kidnapped her. When Ebb aware that Derryl was not his captive, but Aisha was, the duo set to exploit Ebb’s lack of knowledge and moved to set up a trap.

At the meeting with Ebb, Eric watched as Abe Chobanian maneuvered Greg Foster into position to mind control Ebb into revealing where his teammates were. Though he managed to fight the Esper off, the damage had been done. Recruiting Renegade for back up, Derryl and Eric moved to attack the warehouse where the Scelerati Society was. Unbeknownst to them, Abe and Greg gave this information to Jim Loder as well.

Cutting himself off from his classmates, Jim Loder found where his siblings were being held—guarded by Courtney Rage. Thinking she could use them as shields against them, Jim killed his older brother and twin sister without hesitation, then thanked the bassist for giving him someone he could pin the crime on. Sensing what was about to occur, Courtney Rage attempted to flee, only for Jim to electrocute her, adding to his body count even more.

The other members of the Scelerati Society fled, allowing the New Vindicators and the Justicars to rescue their captives. Still, the damage had been done: hundreds were dead and thousands injured in attacks across the country. Among the dead were several Vindicators: Anomaly, Caliber, Rheid, Samebito, Thrust, and Tripper.

In the wake of the attacks, David Meinstein, CEO of Patriot Robotics, unveiled the Gilgamesh, remotely-piloted guardians capable of fighting SPBs.

The Pyschic Plane

Post by Michuru »

Certain Espers have found themselves capable of entering a realm contained within the psyche of each and every individual. This world--the Psychic Plane--is unique to each person and no two individuals' Psychic Planes connect. The landscape appears to be forged by the subconscious, and are usually representative of it: while Eddy was in control of Jason Lamperogue, the plane was forged from cogs and gears; Martin Curie’s psyche, on the other hand, was crystalline structures that resembled places he knew, scattered across an infinite chess board.

Stronger telepaths have demonstrated a knack for taking others into one's Psychic Plane with them. However, if unprepared, a visitor appears as an avatar of their true self. For instance, when Jack Rexroth entered Jason’s psyche, years of abuse at the hands of his father caused him to appear covered in bruises; likewise, carefree and innocent Kirstie Arnett appeared in Martin’s psyche as a 5-year-old girl.

Inside of the Psychic Plane, the host's subconscious will often manifest inhabitants. Jason's psychic was populated by twisted versions of his classmates, including a knight who wore Lex Murphy's face, a cerberus bearing a resemblance to Otso Karell, and a doormat who looked like Jack; Martin's psyche, meanwhile, was inhabited by legions of his sister.

There are many questions left unanswered regarding the dangers of the Psychic Plane: if a visitor dies on the Psychic Plane, do they die in the real world? When Mira Linden was in Martin's psyche, she was swallowed by his subconscious and--for a time--found herself possessing his body while her own lay comatose. Perhaps, over time, more information will be gleamed about the effects this plane has on those who journey to it.

MI18

Post by Michuru »

Leader: Francine Applebottom; formerly William Arnett, Augustus Lear
Roster: Francine Applebottom, William Arnett, Billingsley, Geoffrey Dewhurst, Driscoll, Dubois, Matthew Hall, Jones, MacVarish, Gerald Oates, Zachary Troxel, Walsh
Base of Operations: Vauxhall Cross
First Appearance: New Vindicators Academy of Europe #12
Significant Appearances: New Vindicators Academy of Europe #3, #10, #12, #18-21, #23

Goals: MI18 is a section of the Directorate of Military Intelligence dedicated to protecting the realm from super-powered threats. They are tasked with investigating super-powered crimes in the United Kingdom, apprehending those responsible, and keeping them contained within Row 64.

History: It is presently unknown when MI18 was officially founded or what it’s history entails. The students of the New Vindicators Academy of Europe first came into contact with MI18 during the Laputa event, although they were unaware it. A squadron of New Vindicators (Catalyst, Diamond Dust, Sidra, and Warder) accompanied Pict to London. There, they were met by Agent Zachary Troxel, who led them to Vauxhall Cross were an amnesic Trauma pulled from a Laputa ship that had crashed in London.

The moment Trauma heard Catalyst’s real name, Lacuna’s seed blossomed and the fiend provided the heroes with a threat and coordinates that led them to the Valley of the Fallen—and further away from the school. (NVAE #3)

At the school, however, another agent was deep undercover. Agent Geoffrey Dewhurst had entered his second year of deep cover as Armin Armannperg, one of the U.N.’s security officers. Loyal to MI18’s director, Dewhurst accepted the role in an effort to keep a watchful eye over Kirstie Arnett. Ultimately, he exposed his identity during Laputa’s attack on Vienna, when he found himself stranded on the island fortress with Backlash, Fiore, Gae’bolg, Hubris, Maze, Mezzanine, and the Pachyderm. (NVAE #10)

In the aftermath of Laputa’s plot, Sprite found herself trapped in Fluxx’s body. Needing help, Parabola’s father offered his assistance: the Blue Knight, Current, Fluxx, Impasse, and Sprite learned that the man was not only an agent of MI18 but its director. Further, the man revealed that MI18 had a prisoner—Abigail Cottingwood—whose psychic abilities could help Sprite. (NVAE #12)

The New Vindicators next saw Agent Arnett following Siegfried’s attack on the city. His sister-in-law, Alice Godridge, controlled his mind in an attempt to transfer Kirstie to her school, the clandestine Avalon Academy for Young Ladies. Psychically compromised, Arnett followed protocol and contacted MI18. Two operatives—Hall and Oates—arrived moments after his call ended and escorted him to Row 64. (NVAE #18)

Not long after, Sprite found herself a ward of the New Vindicators Academy of Asia. There, one of the students (Momoko Ueno, codenamed Yakusoku) accidentally used her powers on the Englishwoman, compelling her to keep her promises. Sprite took off for London, moving to carry out a promise she had made to see to liberating Cottingwood, whom Sprite mistakenly thought was innocent. This led to Current and Fluxx racing her to London, where they came into conflict with MI18. (NVAE #19)

Current and Fluxx then proceeded to team-up with Agent Dewhurst in a desperate bid to free Arnett by bringing Godridge to justice. They headed to China, where they became involved in a battle with not only Godridge’s students but mages of the Faustian Society. (NVAE #20)

Unable to secure Arnett’s release, Applebottom continued to remain in power. When an individual bearing an uncanny resemblance to Greystone began attacking London Energy’s refineries, the interim director sent several agents to ambush Greystone at the school—a move that put them into conflict with the students of the New Vindicators Academy. Ultimately, Agent Hall was able to broker a truce that resulted in Chimera’s capture and Greystone clearing his name. (NVAE #21)

As the school year began to wind down, several students (the Blue Knight, Current, Greystone, Parabola, and Shiver) made their way to London. At Shiver’s home, the New Vindicators learned that her father, Augustus Lear, was Arnett’s predecessor as the director of MI18. While there, Current and Parabola decoded Arnett’s message—a warning that Applebottom may be a puppet for Black Box.

Following his instructions, they made their way to the Shetland Isles, where they found a magically warded cottage housing Kenny O’Shae, Gae’bolg’s long-lost uncle. O’Shae gave the group his escape plan, which allowed Current to travel to the Astral Plane and launch an attack that freed Arnett. (NVAE #23)

Teams: Many agents of MI18 appear to be partners who regularly work together.
  • Dubois and MacVarish
  • Hall and Oates
  • Driscoll and Walsh
Known Inmates: Row 64 is home to several threats to the United Kingdom.
  • Abigail Cottingwood (switching bodies)
  • Reginald Davies (aerokinesis)
  • Yifan Zhang (telepathically stealing government secrets)

The Fallen

Post by Michuru »

All Nephilim are the children of seven beings who were once considered part of a heavenly choir of angels. Seraphim, the highest order in heaven, are the beings the Creator bestows a wondrous power upon. Seraphim are capable of wielding a white energy that appears to be fire like, the energy shares none of the properties of flame.

Of those capable of channeling such a force, seven have fallen from grace--their wings severed from their body, they are condemned to never again claim paradise as their home.

The majority of the Fallen were exiled during the first fall that occurred shortly after Creation. Abaddon, Asmodeus, Astaroth, Leviathan and Semyazza followed Lucifer out of Heaven when they refused to bow before humans. Many generations later, another group defected out of lust--among them only the Seraphim known as Samael.

It was Semyazza who tempted the second group--the group which initially created the Nephilim.

Aside from Samael, the other Seraphim have discovered their energy signature sports a new colour. Their children are born with an ability to manipulate the same energy and the corresponding colour declares their lineage.

Lucifer
Pride immortal, the dawn-bearer orchestrated a revolution against God. When the War of Heaven ended and his rebellion failed, Lucifer and a third of the heavenly host was exiled from the kingdom, banished to the material plane.

The Morning Star is staggeringly beautiful and- although he is capable of changing his shape he seldom takes on an appearance that doesn’t stroke his ego nor hint at his extreme narcissism. Lucifer’s revolt was spurred by his pride- believing himself and his kind above humanity; typically he incorporates features to accent his egotistical ideals.

Likely do to his contempt of humanity, Lucifer has yet to actually spawn a Nephilim. Today he has taken on the form of Indrid Cold, a financial advisor in New York City who has established contact with the current Illuminati- which he original formed in the guise of the Collector.
  • Lucifer's Hellfire: Violet
  • Lucifer's Children: Unknown
  • Lucifer's Demons: Unknown
Abaddon
The great destroyer, the angel of the abyss and the king of the locusts, Abaddon is the demon of wrath. Since the day he followed Lucifer out of the kingdom his flames have burned black.

Abaddon typically fights his brothers with a yet unrevealed strategy. Given that more black hellfire users exist more than any other color, it is believed by his brothers that he is amassing an army of Nephilim--likely to repopulate his army, as the Se’irim were long ago destroyed. Given that Abaddon’s powers augment his own already heightened combative ability, this seems highly plausible.

In recent years, Abaddon has adopted the identity of Doctor Jason Pickford, a psychologist working out of Manhattan. He schemed to return his son Apocatastasis to this world and was rewarded by having his mind destroyed. For a time, he was an amnesiac who believed himself just another Nephilim. Following the Basileus' invasion, he found the Tabula Rasa and had his memories restored (NV #100). However, he elected to maintain the guise of John Doe, and has remained on with the staff at the New Vindicators Academy of America.
  • Abaddon's Hellfire: Black
  • Abaddon’s Children: Apocatastasis, Blackguard, Deimos, Diyu, Mayonaka, Nightrider, Paladin, Pandora, Phobos, Ritter Xun, the Shadow
  • Abaddon's Demons: Abaddon once commanded the Se’irim, though they were all destroyed centuries ago.
Asmodeus
The demon of avarice, Asmodeus is considered one of the most wily and trick some of the Fallen. He is a meticulous planner and a shrewd thinker; he possesses an insatiable thirst for knowledge and craves to “know it all”. This hunger is generally put to astonishing use as his otherwise worthless information has been what many of schemes revolve around.

In ancient days, King Solomon through the use of portents and spells known as goetia, summoned the demon to him, intending to contract the former Seraphim to construct a temple. A contract was reached, one in which Asmodeus came out on top. As the king later learned, their agreement was that for every day Asmodeus spent building the temple, he would be allowed to spend a day posing as the king. In this guise he had access to the Seal of Solomon, a signet ring which allowed him command over the Fallen, their underlings and their off-spring. With such an artifact in his possession, Asmodeus began a campaign for power: he had watched Lucifer lose the War of Heaven and was not satisfied with following him into further misfortune.

Such a blow began the millennia-old war of the Fallen, compelling many to compete with each other to usurp leadership of the fallen hordes. Ever the schemer, it is unknown what plot Asmodeus had concocted in his war with the other Fallen.
  • Asmodeus' Hellfire: Yellow
  • Asmodeus’ Children: Enyo, Maze
  • Asmodeus' Demons: The Shedim are the class of angel who were subjugated under Asmodeus. Since his death, it is unknown what has become of them.
Astaroth
The demon of sloth, Astaroth is the most lazy and incompetent of the Seven Fallen. Since his fall, his hellfire has burned red. Typically, when forced to actually act in battle, Astaroth is content to lash out wildly- failing to put the thought or effort into combat that his opponents often do. He tends to utilize brute force more than any other weapon.

Like Samael, Astaroth had little care for winning the other’s petty war. Instead he opted to settle down in a human guise, spawning a son in this generation and bringing him up to fight on in his behalf. The most mellow of his brethren, Astaroth is content to spend his days posing as Sebastian Astaroth--a wealthy American enjoying the hedonism the Mediterranean coast can offer. At some point, however, he left this life behind to assume the identity of Red Kreichgauer, assistant to Forrest Bedford.
  • Astaroth's Hellfire: Red
  • Astaroth’s Children: Aamon, Barbados, Brimstone, Paragon, Pruslas, Rashaverak, Yukimura Sanada
  • Ophanim: Once the wheels on the throne of the Creator, the ten ophanim serve the Prince of Thrones. In recent times, six of them were destroyed in one battle: the archangel Barachiel unmade Nelchael, Luvart, and Raum, while the archangel Selaphiel ended Carreau, Oeillet, and Malthus; Verrine, Gressil, Sonneillon, and Andromalius alone survive.
Leviathan
The demon of envy, the coiled one is the father of chaos- electing to generally use his powers to assume the form of ferociously terrible beasts. In these guises, Leviathan generally wreaks havoc on humanity- be it as a terrible sea serpent destroying sea-fairing vessels or by terrorizing villages in one form or another.

In the days long past, Leviathan mated with the beasts of the earth, skies and sea- spawning hellish cambion that would plague humanity for generations. Many of the sentient monsters in folklore are his children.

In recent years he has become more involved in the Fallen’s war- having been manipulated too often by Asmodeus’ insidious plots. More commonly now, he has begun to conceive true Nephilim with human women. While Leviathan does not act as the father to his modern offspring, he makes appearances in their lives in an effort to steer them towards greater power.
  • Leviathan's Hellfire: Blue
  • Leviathan’s Children: Adramelech, Cecil Ashworth, Asterius, the Blue Knight, Cerulean, Choronzon, Gabriel Farouk (deceased), Gabrielle Farouk, Firn (deceased), Hajime Hanyou, Hanuman, Damien Leeds, Lilith, the Night Stalker, Ritter Gwyn, Simon Radikovich, Tarasque, Yamata no Orochi
  • Leviathan's Demons:: Leviathan commands the fallen Shedu, a choir of angels. Little is known about them.
Semyazza
The demon of gluttony, Semyazza is considered to be the weakest of the Fallen. Lacking Abaddon’s physical prowess and Asmodeus’ mental faculties- Semyazza relies heavily on trickery and deception to further his plots.

Typically, Semyazza attempts to appeal to the most base desires of humanity- appearing to men as an attractive woman in a green dress or to women as a handsome man in a green suit. Knowing of his own shortcomings, Semyazza seeks out and appears before Neo-Sapiens with the potential to inflict terrible scars on the human populace. Realizing that each of the Fallen is playing chess with their human pawns- steering them to complete their goals, Semyazza has moved to counter such blows. Through Atlas originally and now through Frostbite, Semyazza is attempting to undo all of his brothers’ schemes by wiping out humanity.
  • Semyazza's Hellfire: Green
  • Semyazza’s Children: Castor (deceased), Elisabeth Mallory, Mogwai, Pollux, Randolph Fitzroy, Xrix
  • Semyazza's Demons: Semyazza commands the Grigori, the choir he originally led to fall.
Samael
The Seventh Fallen was not exiled in the War of Heaven. Samael had no rebelled against the Creator but fought against his brothers with his swordsmanship. He later defected along with many of the Grigori, succumbing to his lust for human women. Whereas the Grigori were simply spurred on by the notion of a physical relationship, Samael had truly fallen in love with a human woman and wished to give up his angelic heritage to be with her. Likely, it is for these reasons that Samael’s hellfire did not change colour- his had remained white as the other Seraphim.

His first son, Aryan, became the leader of the Gibborim, a collective of heroes in ancient times who fought against the Nephilim that plagued mankind. His son lost his life fighting Abaddon’s son, Apocatastasis, and Samael was left in a state of depression for many years.

When Asmodeus assumed the identity of King Solomon, Samael moved to avoid becoming involved in the other’s conflict. Several centuries later, when the Fallen’s war had reached new heights, he realized he could not sit idly by and do nothing. He became involved- not in a bid for power but to act as an equalizer. He fathered a second son then- and watched as the Nephilim joined the ranks of the Vindicators VII. He had also spawned a daughter- a contingency to be used against his son, should the boy rage out of control.

Not only did Samael realize what Abaddon’s new plot was, he realized Abaddon’s ambitions could prove the most successful. Seeking a contingency to what Abaddon’s was planning, Samael empowered the human Drew Jenkins with the otherworldly ability to mimic Neo-Sapien abilities. Though he had intended for Drew to be used as a weapon against Abaddon’s most cherished child, Drew took part in the White War- losing his life fighting against Samael’s son Michuru. Unfortunately, Samael himself had been cut down by another child of Abaddon (the Shadow), realizing what Samael was up to and the foil he would present himself as.

Leader: The GM
Roster:
  • Ding!
  • n00b
  • PWNAGE
  • RedHott315
  • sp4wn_p01nt
Base of Operations: The GM’s Apartment
First Appearance: New Vindicators #24

Biography: Greg Gygax lived in the basement of his mother’s house. As her fourth marriage began, her new husband had given Greg a handsome proposition as a means of encouraging him: for $100 a month, Greg had reign over the sublevel. His privacy was ensured by a lock and key and his utilities would be provided, as would his necessities of life.

All he had to do was get a job and pay the rent.

At twenty, Greg started his first job but the exciting, fast-paced career as a checker at Wal-Mart came at a heavy price: the time he invested behind the register meant time away from planning the next exciting adventure for his PCs.

For all five of them, life was a massive Catch-22. They were all gamers and their habit was often an expensive one. Newer systems were costing between $300 and $600, core rulebooks for their favorite tabletop RPGs were nearly as expensive as the latest video games, and booster pack of Magic: the Gathering were almost $4—forcing them to work an hour to afford two boosters. The day Greg spent $60 on a new controller, he had had enough.

Gaming cost money, money was obtained through work, work took away time that could be better spent on gaming. It was a vicious cycle but the day Greg realized he wasn’t the only Neo-Sapien in his close-knit gaming group the wheels started turning and he devised the greatest adventure ever…

What began with Garfield Richards’ (PWNAGE) accidentally outing his absorption powers led to each one of them coming clean with each other other. Takeshi Naru (sp4wn_p01nt) told them all of his teleportation abilities while Kenan Elvis (RedHott315) displayed his pyrokinetic mastery. Jim Thompson (n00b), the youngest of their group and the only one still in high school, was relieved to be able to finally display his super-strength.

Greg revealed his ability to manipulate the odds and hatched an insidious plan: why work for money when they could steal it? Their powers and one-hundred and thirty-seven combined viewings of Oceans 11 would enable them to pull of perfect heist after perfect heist. Every so often, Greg coordinates a strike to liberate one institution or another of their cash. He’s careful not to fall into a patter and Takeshi’s teleportation has left police unable to find the criminals. In under a year, the group has pulled off a series of heists and has stolen millions of dollars.

The power_gamers attacked the Ambassador Grill, the restaurant atop the Plaza Hotel. It was also the location Ben Altair (Frostbite) had chosen to take his girlfriend out for her birthday. When the attack began, Frostbite got a distress call out to the school and Gabrielle teleported her brother Gabriel into the melee. (NV #24)

It wasn’t long before the teen speedster Blur joined the fight and Oscillator flew into the fray behind them. The heroes’ combined efforts held against the criminals, creating a stalemate that lasted until Bulwark arrived.

Ultimately, the villains teleported away, though the heroes had captured one of their number: their leader, the GM. The ringleader sustained a crippling injury from Bulwark, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. In such a condition he was given over to Alcatraz Island but the heroes didn’t yet breathe easy… The other four were still out there and still had the power and potential to be a threat.

The remaining power_gamers went to San Francisco with the intent of rescuing their GM from Alcatraz. As they plotted to take down the Guardians, they ran into the Illuminati and a battle began—one interrupted by Elemenoh P. Quarez. During the adventure, Elemenoh took a liking to the precocious villains. After Elemenoh departed, sp4wn_p01nt rescued the GM, only to find that Elemenoh had healed his spine as a way of thanking them for entertaining him. (Illuminati #18)

The New Vindicators next encountered the power_gamers during their exodus into Peoria. When Bluetooth caught wind of the power_gamers in the act of committing a crime, Gabrielle used her spatial distortions to take her team directly to them. Doing so brought the power_gamers wrath on them though, as the villains hacked Bluetooth’s head and turned her on her friends. (NV #53)

When Suicide Dave’s latest plot to end his existence blacked out New York City, the power_gamers bounced on the chance to make out like bandits during the rioting—an act that put them against the Vindicators. (NV #82)

In an attempt to impress the newest member of his group (Ding!), the power_gamers attempted to get into a club, Hell in a Handbasket. When denied entry, they moved to cause a scene only to have such an attempt thwarted by the newest class of New Vindicators. (NV #101)

Goals: The power_gamers' only goals are simple: finance their lifestyle.

Crimes: Larceny
Michuru81 wrote:The power_gamers can be more than a simple annoyance to the PCs if done right- in fact, they can force the party to change up their usual combat strategy.

sp4wn_p01nt is one of the more effective members of the team- given his high Defense and feats. Going up against the team's tank he can redirect most attacks from the party's resident meat shield to less impervious characters such as energy manipulators, psions, speedsters and the like. His best trick isn't just turning the PCs' bruiser against their team but in removing others from combat. Do the PCs have a Probability Controller who's ruining your day? How about a cleric running around healing away your hard efforts? Teleporting them away from the battle can play havoc on the party.

Next up is PWNAGE. Most players fall into the pattern of punch, kick and bite. When they're not expecting an opponent with Absorption, watch them lunge in for the attack and scratch their heads as their best blasts don't seem to slow him down. The party just might assume he's a straight-up blaster for the first few rounds until someone finally puts two-and-two together.

RedHott315 and n00b are fairly straight forward, and archtypes for any super-team be they good or evil. The muscle and the flamethrower don't serve some extra purpose beyond raking up damage on some PCs- keeping the more troublesome occupied while the others do their thing.

As per Tattooedman's request, Deimos jumps Lurker to the front of the list.

The problem is... Deimos has a lengthy history, and I'm catching up everyone's biography to where they currently sit in the story.

EDIT: I thought I was in Roll Call for a second. Next for here is a big update to magic. As I noted in my Rumble build, I was heavily influenced by prodigyduck's spell conversions, but he leaves off at 'M'. Guess what I'd had been slowly doing?

The biggest places this shows is Wight's build, which may or may not get posted here. Wight is someone who, ideally, won't be defeated, but will make an exit when he realizes he's losing. Wight being in Oubliette-137 when the NVAE game is about to have a supernatural focus is a big thing.

Anyway, that's what my next plans are: working more on the magical side of the universe. Arcana, magus dynasties, items, creatures... Things like that.
