Coping with Merged Peoples - Government Decrees

The Pure Faith act was proposed under Obama and would make all religions worshipping entities inimical to human life and American values illegal (Chaos worship, cults of the Great Old Ones, Diabolism etc.). It was never put into effect during the Obama administration but after Trump became President, he hurried it along on the second day in office. And yes, he does not give a damn that it subverts one of the core principles the US were founded upon...

Some additions to the various locations...

Known Characters to have crossed over/ appeared:

Charles Bishop Weyland One of the founders of what becomes the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. Currently working for an affiliation of the DXDO - the OWIA (Other World Investigation Agency)

Edward Jellico Starfleet Captain who briefly took over from Picard and wasn't liked by some of the crew, especially Riker... Currently working for an affiliation of the DXDO - the OWIA (Other World Investigation Agency)

Helen Tasker ("Doris") From the movie True Lies, a few months and a heap of training later, she has become a field operative and is a rep for the OWIA. She was weirded out when her "daughter" turned out to be a rogue vampire Slayer.

Matthew Ellis (Senator) President of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is a sitting Senator in the post Merge world and government liaison to an affiliation of the DXDO - the OWIA (Other World Investigation Agency)

Richard Woolsey From the Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis series. Following the arrival of Atlantis off the coast of the United States, Woolsey was contacted to assist various government task forces. Currently working for an affiliation of the DXDO - the OWIA (Other World Investigation Agency)

So... these are the heads of my cell/ squad of the DXDO... Speculate as you wish, you will eventually start meeting Operatives

Based on a line from Miss Ro in the Omega Company game...

So... Where are you from?

Netflix. You ?

HBO.

Dunno why I found that funny, but the idea of naming cable and internet tv providers instead of countries of origin tickles...

Pokemon and Dex Holders...

'Dex holders seem to be a cut above normal trainers, even when they're starting out. Given that they will be traveling through some rough country and possibly encountering some equally rough characters, it stands to reason that they will have some extra training that your generic pokemon trainer wouldn't have. As far as being a pokemon trainer and dex holder, it seems to be the equivalent of being a marshal with the old 'a-kicking equals authority' thing going on.

Pokeballs aren't exactly common yet at least not over in the states, so most trainers tend to keep a small team of critters, instead of boxes and boxes of them. In fact, most trainers (in the 'states at least) don't even bother with pokeballs, instead preferring to befriend their critters, rather than catching them.

There are places that are starting up Gyms, especially out in the more remote or sparsely populated regions/areas, mainly for survival purposes against the really bad things that are now out there. Places like Alaska would definitely count as 'remote' and sparsely populated.

The pokemon fighting thing has come up now and again (with organizations like PETA decrying it), but the pokemon themselves have made it quite plain they like it (as it makes them stronger) and it's really ludicrous to think that humans could really make them do anything they didn't want to do. For them, it is a symbiotic partnership built on mutual respect. They'd let their human partner know if they were unhappy with things. So any attempts at stopping it hasn't had much traction or success, though regulating it and putting rules in place (to keep the mayhem to a minimum) have naturally happened. For example to actually become a trainer, you have to take classes and graduate from said classes before you can have a pokemon.

Also, most Pokémon seem to be just as intelligent as humans and some far exceed the intelligence of most humans (Alakazam for example). For these 'starter' Pokémon, I've kept them at average human intelligence.

Remember, pokemon might be cute critters, but they are monsters in every sense of the word and most of them are very dangerous.

True ;) Although their home universes were as real to them as ours is to us, so they would definitely have places of birth etc.
Still, some might have grasped the idea that they were treated as fictional on Pre-Merge Earth better than others.

Just trying to state the point that the Merge Universe is not about fictional characters coming to life but our pre-Merge fiction being glimpses into other pre-existing universes.

Kind-of like an old wives' tale i heard of:
The Tale goes that when an Unusally gifted child/Adult Dreams, they're not actually Dreaming, but Astrally visiting another Reality(Like what Robert E.Howard said happened to him).Only in this case, that wierd series of same-time event's forced that all into one Reality...

Just out of curiosity, just how accurate am i on this guess?...

That's about on point. Given that, multiversally speaking, all universes that folded into ours were very close to ours, it stands to reason that creative types are actually able to peer into other realities.

so how would you be able to explain being's like the Beyonder,The Elders of the Universe,The Cosmic Cube, The Molecule Man, Etc. In the Merge(If they've even appeared yet)?
They're abilities could almost literally undo everything you've worked here ......Unless you claim them as "The Original Dreamers",then they're effects would be limited to their Line of sight or something....*Goes to Giant chalk Board and start's writing Heavy Computation Math"

Due to the fact that the Merged Universe is still somewhat unstable and " floating" inside a multiversal dead zone at the moment (sort of a vacuum created when the universes folded into one another), the power of such beings is greatly limited. It's very much the same with time travel. Trying to travel into any time before the Merge is impossible.

The thing is, quite a few very powerful beings have tried restoring the original universes...but found their powers draining into an endless void, possibly even accidentially feeding the Universal Devourer (the thing at the " bottom" of the multiverse, the thing that seeded many universes with eldritch abominations to soften them up for consumption. It tried to eat the Merged Universe during the Prologue to Annihilation storyline...)...

Nope, currently, no one can undo the Merge.

I wasn`t planning on it. I was actually kidding. If something was powerful enough to cause it and the big minds can`t undo it, it stands to reason it can`t be undone...

I had an idea for something that might give that impression inside of a story, but it would wrap up by the end.

Maybe as a dream type thing ala Inception? That actually might be a good game idea. Have a bunch of characters with dream based powers fighting against nightmares and horrors or just use the Dreaming/Bleed as a jumping off point for a game. That could include alot of different concepts.

Merged Earth Atlas: The British Isles

The rest of the world was not spared the Merge although it appears to many that North America got the brunt of the XDs. At least one version of Captain Britain protects the Isles among others. It's rumored Hogwarts has crossed over, a rumor no mage is willing to confirm or deny.

There are likely any number of Sidhe and other fae folk around as well.

Other specific locations include:

Time in a Bottle. One post-Merge building that has appeared in Central London is the pub known as the Time in A Bottle, from the mainstream DC universe. In its own universe, it had been a place for diplomacy for questing knight-scholars, for the adventurers of the Victorian and Pulp eras, to those who served their country during the World Wars and to modern-day superhumans. Even though it's had the biggest change of address ever, it still serves this function.

The Bottle as it's affectionately called, is a pub that sells food and drink... and is the local for the good majority of London-based X-Ds and for "Positively Affected" locals. There have been a few shouting matches as people started dealing with the effects of the Merge but no physical violence has actually broken out in the area immediately surrounding the pub. It took about a month or so to get Wi-Fi and satellite TV installed, and it has a public terminal on the Reunion Network, which is also used in the Home Sweet Home bar in Los Angeles and in other major X-D hangouts worldwide.

The new beer garden has a cordon at the back, giving fliers a clear place to take off and land without having to attract attention outside.

If a local wants to get some training in their new powers, or if an X-D wants to know about what it was really like in Pre-Merge London, this is usually the best place to look for someone who can actually help them out.

It also suits the Metropolitan Police and the City of London Police just fine to have one place where they can be reasonably sure that most folk in London with powers is going to visit, sooner or later.

NOTE: Even though no laws currently exist in Britain to ban flying unaided, using super-speed or teleporting while under the influence, doing so is widely understood to be very ill-advised, and will look really bad for you in court. Parliament has confirmed that pre-existing laws concerning being drunk in charge of a motor vehicle (the actual name of the offence in Britain) do apply to being in charge of craft ranging from battlesuits to enchanted broomsticks, and carry the same penalties. If pulled over, it's also illegal to refuse to provide a specimen of breath, blood or urine for analysis, with the same penalties given as for actual drink-driving.
The secret to the relative peacefulness of the Bottle is an enchanted statue of Merlin hidden in one of the upstairs rooms with a special 'truce enchantment' active. In game terms, all powers based on Affliction, Damage and Mind Reading will not work while you're inside the Bottle. Any attempt to physically strike someone will always miss, often making the aggressor look like an idiot. Ranged weapons will always act like they were empty, even if you only just loaded them. Enhanced Strength and Protection still work, but you still can't land any blows. Most other powers still work inside.
