Re: On the road (D&D 5E IC)

On the roof, Kaine is able to quickly pat down the pirate he knocked out to relieve him of a pair of daggers, his remaining bolts and crossbow, leaving him with no means to cut any binding ropes to escape, should Kaine follow through to tie him up. (You had indicated keeping him alive, so not sure ...

Re: On the road (D&D 5E IC)

Kaine [Monk 3] AC: 16 HP: 21 Ki Points: 2 / Short Rest Condition: Normal (-3 HP) Stripping the pirate of all his gear or trinkets with a sharp edge, Kaine ties him up with a scarlet silk sash, searching the pirate for clues of the pirates ship or origin. At the same time, lifting any booty the man ...

Re: On the road (D&d 5E Recruiting Closed)

Kaine last action was to “subdue” the roof pirate. When it was appropriate for me to further post I was going to have him go the roof edge ask Heart for assistance. His action would be to try and follow the pirates scurrying for the exits below using the roofs to stalk them back to their ship of inn...

Re: On the road (D&d 5E Recruiting Closed)

Dodge is an action, not bonus or reaction, so can't do that and also attack. Trying to catch his bolt if he fires one is fine though since that's reaction, but he's not dumb, so wouldn't attempt to fire one in melee anyways. And the whole process of jumping across and pulling himself up is within a...

Re: On the road (D&d 5E Recruiting Closed)

Changed the post. I assumed it would take his movement and his Action to back up, run, jump, and pull himself up. Leaving his Reaction and Bonus Action? If it’s within the rules he will use them to either dodge or to catch the pirate crossbowmen bolt. Which ever works for EE. Either way I don’t feel...

Re: On the road (D&d 5E Recruiting Closed)

I don't now why, but I was thinking the second crossbowman was on the opposite roof? He is. So I need to delete my last post then? I assume Kaine can’t jump from one roof to the next. In that case he’d just climb/acrobat aka Daredevil across or down to the alley if the former isn’t possible

Re: On the road (D&D 5E IC)

Kaine [Monk 3] AC: 16 HP: 21 Ki Points: 2 / Short Rest Condition: Normal (-3 HP) I don't now why, but I was thinking the second crossbowman was on the opposite roof? "You wound me Sal .... It was only that one time, and the mother made an excellent Savander pie." With that Kaine stepped b...

Re: On the road (D&D 5E IC)

Kaine The pirate slumps to the ground with cracked ribs and a pierced lung. Kaine had seen this kind of injury in the Pit many times. The seadog would need immediate attention or soon die. Without hesitating a heartbeat Kaine sheathed the staff on his back, stepped the roof edge. Leaning over Kaine...

Re: On the road (D&d 5E Recruiting Closed)

Meanwhile, Kaine manages a solid connection with his quarterstaff into his opponent's ribs. He can feel the rib give way and crack as his opponent drops. (You need to decide with melee attacks whether you intend to kill or knock out) SOP will be to kill (especially when ambushed), unless stated oth...

Re: On the road (D&d 5E Recruiting Closed)

Spent my action. Rolled the Crit wrong but EE fixed. Wasn’t planning to use Ki for a shove anyway though. Try to save those for Boss or equivalents with so few available. I’ve never played anything beside VV and MM via a post so I’m still having moments of crossing MM and DD rules but will get better

Re: On the road (D&d 5E Recruiting Closed)

That’s cool. Especially in this format. At a table I think I’d homebrew you have advantage at range to try and give an ally advantage (being at range removing you from danger and all) but in PbP this is a really creative way to go :) As a side thought could something similar be done to give an oppon...

Re: On the road (D&d 5E Recruiting Closed)

So .... you can do an aid action in combat .... at range? God I'm still learning 5e and we've had a monthly game for two years now :)
