Re: The New Gods

However, with Darkseid, DC at least had a mega-villain- their own "Doctor Doom" but even grander in scope. This dark, calm, malevolent force in charge of a huge alien army, he immediately struck a chord with readers, and began getting used a bit more after the New Gods stuff folded. He wa...

8.5 members, and they're unable to split up into teams.... Okay.

(Prime is only divisible by itself and one.)

Re: A dc /marvel/temporal comics merged universe

Hub City was Chicago. Basically freight and rail systems in the U.S. radiate out from Chicago like a wheel. Lookup "railroad hub of the U.S." Hub City certainly makes sense, Ken-I think I was a bit uncertain back in the day because DC already had the Blue Beetle series set in Chicago, so....

Re: A dc /marvel/temporal comics merged universe

I thought of Opal as the counterpart to Boston, perhaps because I semi-remember there being a reference to it being close to Ivy Town, which I always pegged as the equivalent to Providence, R.I., or some other relatively well known New England city. Was there anything pointing to it being closer to...

Re: A dc /marvel/temporal comics merged universe

Midway City (replacing St. Louis), home of Hawkman and Hawkwoman, Doom Patrol. Gateway City (replacing San Francisco), home of Wonder Woman, the Spectre, both versions of Mr. Terrific, the Green Turtle, So, will Midway City then get Saint Louis' real world nickname of "the Gateway City"? ...

I don't know if you should or shouldn't. If you decide to do so, I would be interested in how you deal with the Grant Farrell/Don Blake and Fred Carson/Simon Williams situations.

Re: A dc /marvel/temporal comics merged universe

I've sometimes considered such a thing (Marvel + DC at least) with the idea of trying to figure out which fictional DC city is meant to be based on/analogous to which real city and just have it replace the real city. But it is debatable which is supposed to be which, so you are never going to hear ...

Re: The Addams Family

-So if you're around my age, you no doubt are familiar with the "Addams Familymania" that spread across North American in the early '90s. The film (based off of the 1960s sitcom, based off the one-panel comic strips) was AMAZING and a huge hit, and led to a big craze for the Addamses. Rei...

Re: Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

There's a long history of animation, either cartooning or stop motion puppets, in holiday specials. Even the "Star Wars Life Day Special" had that Boba Fett cartoon.

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Shadow Man! Kung-Fu Heroes! Dr. Chaos! GoldenEye!)

Ranking the Bonds: Connery was the best and got the best movies. I'd say he probably follows the books the closest. Brosnan could have been good but he got the worst movies. Dalton was fine. I mostly like his couple, though they were "smaller" and more personal. He's always fun to see in ...
