Re: Vehicle Weapons don't make sense

Honestly? M&M isn't really designed to handle the sort of combat discussed above; as I commented on a question about conducting aerial dogfights that came up on the FB page, a GM may be better off taking guidance from other d20 based table-top games, or simply representing such battles as a seri...

Re: The Marvels aka One of the most entertaining Marvel movies ever

I'm saddened the lackluster (borderline poor) marketing push from Marvel, combined with an increasingly polarized and reactionary fandom have likely utterly derailed any plans for Disney to promote Captain Marvel & Co. as major players in future films. I haven't seen the film yet, but the Marvel...

Re: J-Mart: Kung Lao, Ken Masters, Captain Carter

Thank you for posting this one!!! I absolutely LOVE Captain Carter!!! Both the character and Ms. Atwell's note-perfect portrayal.

So wish more would be done on the big screen (or even Disney +) with the character.

All my best.

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Mastermind! Jackdaw! Jamie Braddock! Meggan!)

Meggan's reactive shapeshifting/empathic powers were just fine, since they actually made sense as a combo, and it was a rather unusual power-set for the era, but otherwise? Never had any idea how she could fly, why she was also somehow linked to the Earth's bio-sphere, how she could shoot energy bla...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (lbion! Psylocke! Revanche! Vixen!)

The Captain Britain villains, allies, and supporting cast members seem to be relics of a sort; they were created for a character who essentially has his back story, power-set, purpose, and personality entirely rewritten. Vixen and Slaymaster remind me of early-on Spider-Man bad guys, throwbacks to t...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Warpies! The Captain Britain Corps! Albion!)

The Albion story line was both poorly premised AND badly executed; I mean, really, no Captain Britain candidate every choose the sword? I realize it was presented as a choice between "might" and "right", but its scarcely a given that selecting the weapon means the person is of ba...

Re: dc heroes 1st edition rpg character conversions

Excellent work in the character conversions! I always thought the original DC Heroes game from Mayfair was quite, quite good in terms of the character creation system, though with some balance issues in terms of abilities/powers (apparently Blood of Heroes MEGS did a better in that regard); the TSR ...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Mad Jim Jaspers! Warpies! Captain Britain Corps!

It was part of the first run, when they did a year-long arc called the "Cross-Time Caper", involuntarily shunted around several parallel Earths. I think Captain Caledonia was a backgrounder during the original run, when the team ended up on Otherworld, and a whole bunch of the CB Corps pop...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Mad Jim Jaspers! Warpies! Captain Britain Corps!

The original Crusader X was a good guy, a Native American version of Brian Braddock (somehow); this was the same parallel where Courtney Ross physically looked like an older Kitty Pryde, though the latter also had an unseen counterpart, apparently.

Re: The Phoenixverse (A 2e OC 'verse; Red Ronin! Tomoe Aizawa! Asami Koga! Tetsuya Fujiwara! Kazumi Ishimaru!)

Hey, I haven't commented or posted much at all in recent weeks, as I've been coping with a LOT of unexpected demands on my time and mental energy, but I just wanted to say how well-designed so many of these characters are, EP, each with backgrounds that add another consistent piece to your setting. ...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Excalibur! Captain Britain! Roma! Merlyn!)

She's showed up quite a bit during the current Krakoa arc of the X-Men, where we're apparently all supposed to feel sorry for her because she has all this power and it won't give her Brian. Which would be sad, if not for her being, y'know, a complete monster who deserves no pity. I mean, my ...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (The Spider-Squad! The Spacemen! Excalibur!)

There was so much about the Claremont/Davis run-and later, the solo Alan Davis run-that I just absolutely LOVED as a young comics reader. The title was anarchic, absurd, over-the-top, mostly good-humored, melodramatic, and most of all just FUN. There weren't any concerns about deconstructing superhe...

Re: Multiples of the device

Well, just to have multiple people wearing them at the same time. I might suggest building the Device with the Affect Others modifier as well, and maybe even Area Effect, which could make it a pricey build. However, certain limitations suggest themselves as well; only affecting willing wearers of t...

Re: [M&M 3e] The Freedom Legion, The Liberty League!

Some very cool plays on various archetypes in your batch of Freedom Legionnaires, with Somnambula's power-set being particularly innovative. Are all of these intended as analogues/mash-ups of the Freedom League's inspiration from the comics? A handful seem like straightforward counterparts, others I...

Re: Jab’s Power Profiles: Deleted 2nd Edition Powers- The Afflictions!

This also reminds me of how the "Trance" feat persisted from 1e to 2e despite being a very niche thing. Every time I look at Trance, I'm like, "Whyyyyyyyyyy does this exist?" A lot of pulp-adventure heroes had this back in the day (Doc Savage, the Green Lama, even Batman used it...
