Re: Jab's Builds! (Atlantis! Milo! Kida! Emperor’s New Groove!)

I think that the best way to define The Emperor's New Groove is that it's unique in its kind. It might not be a great movie and it got a lot of undeserved hype due to coming after stuff like Pocahontas and The Hunchback , which were so maligned that anything different looked like a stroke of genius....

Re: Jab's Builds! (Shan Yu! Tarzan! Jane! Queen La! Dinosaur! Atlantis!)

Mole, Vinny and Helga are another of the reasons why a lot of people compared Atlantis to Nadia. The "main sidekicks" to Nadia and Jean were a team of thieves fromed by Grandis (a noblewoman fallen into hard times due to a terrible marriage), Sanson (her family chaffeaur and resident strongman) and ...

Re: Wizards & Wyverns - My fantasy build thread

Statting up Pluto is always a mess. “Time Stop” is not an easy, practical power to build. Her lack of focus in the franchise doesn’t help- only once is she shown on a computer and using technical know-how. Unfortunately Saturn is pretty much more of the same. Both characters have one overkill singl...

Re: The Predator

Things that I've heard: You are correct on all counts. I kinda though the retcon about the "spinal fluid upgrades" was a neat angle until I started thinking what you stated and then I just laughed harder at the whole thing. It was so ludicrous. I'm not kidding when I say it was one of the best movi...

Re: Wizards & Wyverns - My fantasy build thread

Interesting- is that College of Bards thing like a Prestige Class? I never quite got the full understanding of their class in D&D. Something like it. In 5th Edtion all classes must choose a specialization (called School for wizards, Collge for Bards, Domain for Clerics etc.), which provides a serie...

Re: Tarzan

-Tarzan breaks the PL 7 "Soft Cap" I've used on most Disney characters- the guy can fight a freaking LEOPARD and a SILVERBACK GORILLA and remain not-dead. He's about as elite a jungle fighter as you're ever likely to see- even superior at moving through the jungle compared to Ka-Zar (a Marvel rip-o...

Re: Jab's Builds! (DuckTales! Quasimodo! Esmeralda! Frollo!)

One of the things I remember hearing about Disney Land was that at one point the workers at the park jokingly referred to it 'Mouschwitz', of course when the bosses found out a stern memo was sent out saying that it 'stops now' and anyone caught using the name would be fired. Within a day they were...

Re: Wizards & Wyverns - My fantasy build thread

Haruka’s Japanese name invokes the term “Cekestial King” or something, which is probably where the artist grabbed the concept. Ps, I demand your rant on the late introduced Senshi :). I don't know if I really have to humor you :P Anyway, the rant is not about these characters specific. It's more of...

Re: Philoctetes

About the Performer: Danny DeVito is famous for being short and ugly, and typically plays characters who fit that type- cantankerous sorts, perverts and low-class individuals. He got his start in the sitcom Taxi (which netted him an Emmy), and was famously in Twins , Batman Returns , and My Cousin ...
