Re: Jab’s Builds! (Donkey Kong Country! Jessica Cruz! Star Boy! Miss Martian!))

Heck, I've only seen roughly half of the Marvel shows, though I know all the characters from the comics.

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Donkey Kong Country! Jessica Cruz! Star Boy! Miss Martian!))

Yeah, in-universe I just chalked it up to GA and John Stewart not being present, AND that several years have passed-so the Leaguers didn't immediately make the connection with Starboy, and when they did realize, it simply wasn't mentioned "on-camera". It is still a little odd that Kal-El wouldn't ha...

Re: Superteam Handbook

Project Freedom 9th Airborne - Powers add up to 78p (1p short), Skills add up to 26p (4p short). Total adds up to 160p, so 5p short of the listed 165p Fortress America - The Quirk "capped by Toughness Rank" on Impervious Toughness isn't really a Flaw since Impervious has no effect above the rank of...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Donkey Kong! Diddy & Dixie Kong! K.Rool! Jessica Cruz!)

I checked out the movie and generally enjoyed it, finding it generally worthy of the JLU mantle (I loved that show back in the day). And I thought the writers made a solid choice in featuring a line-up that had moved on to an extent, with several mainstays having moved on, and the team generally red...

I haven't played any of these games in many years, but what the two of you are coming up with his enthralling and utterly entertaining! Very impressed with the material so far-kudos to Ares and Slade!

Re: Marvel bows to poltical correctness and censors celebrated writer.

Citing Art Spiegelman is not an appeal to authority fallacy, as his knowledge of fascism comes from the accounts of his parents and their friends/family members who lived through the Nazi era in Germany, along with the research he did for Maus . This doesn't mean make Mr. Spiegelman's pronouncements...

Re: Vehicles underpointed?

Agreed the vehicles in the core books aren't terribly detailed (and hence they are under-pointed); I think, aside from space considerations, the idea was simply to give examples of their respective speeds, carrying capacities, and combat stats. Most of the rest is just hand-waved, particularly in th...

Re: Dimensionally Sharp Blade

Just build it as per the construct rules, with no STR or DEX scores (unless you want the sword to be able to animate and fight on its own, like a dancing blade), but with INT and PRE (the latter is needed for it to have any volition/ability to act independently). Then grant it whatever powers it nor...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Shiv! Degaton! Kestrel! Johnny Sorrow! Deathlok!)

90s era Marvel characters seemed to get a lot of "power hype" to shill them to readers. I think the Collins Deathlok could briefly override his cybernetic safety systems and exert himself to near-failure, so if anything I'd just give him power-lifting with the tiring flaw.

All my best.

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Shiv! Degaton! Kestrel! Johnny Sorrow! Deathlok!)

Likely not, given the relative debut dates of the original Deathlok and the aforementioned band. The comics character predates "Eddie". BTW: The original Deathlok, Luther Manning, was white, and his wife (who believed him deceased) was black-their flashback sequences and the child they shared were l...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Shiv! Degaton! Kestrel! Johnny Sorrow! Deathlok!)

The original Deathlok seems like an Iron Age character/concept in the early Bronze Age of Marvel-but actually a lot of weird stuff happened in 1970s/early 80s MU; Adam Warlock, Howard the Duck, Mar-Vel's whole cosmic schtick. I know some of the old guard talk about drugs being pretty prevalent among...

Re: Jab's Rifts Builds (Dolphins & Whales! Whale Magic! Lord of the Deep!)

If I remember correctly-my RIFTS days are WAY in the rear view, and I never even owned most of the books-the Lord of the Deep's tentacles could actually emerge from ANY body of water, anywhere in the world-any part of the oceans, lakes, or rivers! I found that aspect to be really creepy and unnervin...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Icicle! Vandal Savage! Gambler! Solomon Grundy! Brain Wave!))

The Brainwave/Merry the Gimmick Girl thing was a pretty weird bit of ret-conning-I mean, not only was the original Brainwave depicted as being middle-aged, he was also diminutive, scrawny, and geeky, with the oversized head and coke-bottle glasses. He was pretty much a bald version of Dr. Psycho, fr...
