Re: Jab's Builds! (The Flame! Charon! A Huge, Throbbing Genis!)

I don’t and never will understand the idea that people cannot enjoy a character who isn’t the same ethnicity or gender as themselves. It's the new sexism and racism. Apparently, if I enjoy a quesadilla or an unagi roll, I'm guilty of cultural appropriation, since my ancestors came from northern Eur...

Re: Jab's Builds! (The Flame! Charon! A Huge, Throbbing Genis!)

It’s like the comic book arms of these conglomerates aren’t being run by people who actually like comic books. I've gotten the feeling that not only does the WB not like comic books, I suspect that don't even like the DC properties. And have put in people who feel the same way in the top spots at DC.

Yep, really looks like The Devourer's bio was written too early. Not seeing much serpent. Mayan werewolves?
You see, that's why i think DC did a better job with their '93 annuals than Marvel did.OK,not by much, but still.....
Bloodlines?

Re: The ongoing fall of Venezuela

Fair enough, personally what I took from the article was corruption is corruption no matter what political system or beliefs you follow. When the core notion of your economic and political system is "we want your stuff; therefore we're taking your stuff" how far does one have to go before corruptio...

Re: Muslim Culture, History and Politics - Open Debate

I thought we had a few years before we hit the two millennia mark. ;) We passed it eighteen years ago, dude. No. We passed the turn of the Millennium 18 years ago. The transubstantiation vs symbolism debate couldn't have started until after the Last Supper, which happened, according to tradition, w...

Yes, and what a great time saver it is, when you don't have to wait for corrupt government officials to get into bed with corrupt heads of industry (or vice versa) because they're the same people.

Re: Muslim Culture, History and Politics - Open Debate

So, despite having left the Church, I still had a reflexive urge to correct some of Ken’s mistakes in his opening paragraph. It is mostly right, but it misses out some of the nuance in the transubstantiation versus transformation versus symbolism debate. Yeah, I was going for broad overview; trying...

Re: Muslim Culture, History and Politics - Open Debate

Okay, I'm going to assume that whatever people's beliefs are everyone here has heard of Jesus' Last Supper. One of the biggest things to come out of the Last Supper is the doctrine of the Holy Eucharist. In short, that Jesus imbued a bit of God's infinite divinity into the bread and wine, and shared...

Re: Muslim Culture, History and Politics - Open Debate

Fascist ideologies do promote peace, and if peace at any cost is one's goal, then, sure. Me? I have no fondness for war. And I hope if I'm ever asked to be a martyr for my faith, I'm up to the task. But as a general rule, I really don't like the idea of being murdered just because in a little under ...
