Re: The Merge Universe

Not really. Also, mages have been looking at RPG books (paper and PDF) for ideas for magical items. Particularly sought-after are the d20 Modern corebook, Urban Arcana setting book, GURPS Technomancer and any Mage: The Ascension book to do with the Technocracy, Society of Ether or the Virtual Adepts...

Re: The Merge Universe

And it does help that a lot of Chaos cultists who have been caught very proudly boast about being willing servants, which means there's little doubt that they actually had it coming to them.

Re: The Merge Universe

Griffin's response to finding a known Chaos cultist is... memorable, to say the least. The Hospital District, New Mechanicsburg... Outside the Great Hospital, a team of armed police pointed several guns at Griffin, yelling " Freeze, City Watch! " Griffin put his free hand up, saying "I thought you w...

Re: The Merge Universe

Just updated Griffin's Observations, had to finish off the bit where the UN already had a spare chamber that they now use for dealing with Merge-related matters.

Re: The Merge Universe

Griffin's Observations, Actions and Reactions in Post-Merge Britain These all take place before Griffin joined the party in Prologue to Annihilation. Like every other country on Earth, the United Kingdom was affected pretty hard by the Merge. And Griffin was thankful that the Time in the Bottle cam...

Re: The Merge Universe

Thought of another piece of slang...

Screamer: Someone with sound-based powers or who actually needs to shout to get their powers to work.

Re: The Merge Universe

Well, the main reason I thought of a section on slang is that it would make the post-Merge world sound like people actually live there.

Re: The Merge Universe

Just thought of a new slang term...

Dolittle: Anyone with Comprehend: Speak and Understand Animals. Most Dolittles end up developing Animal Empathy and are near-always among the most valued members of any group that works with animals.

Re: The Merge Universe

One thing I recommend looking at is the Urban Arcana setting book for D20 Modern. It gives a good idea on how some fantasy races would adapt to living in a modern society.

Re: The Merge Universe

I wonder what you think of the idea of the Looking Glass? It's basically a cybercafé made with powers in mind. After all, they tend to have certain requirements and issues when going online that most people - not even the powers themselves sometimes - simply wouldn't think of. Things like a relative...

The Looking Glass Cyber-café: This 24/7 cyber-café, located just across the street from the Time in a Bottle in London has the usual internet access and printing services available, and it's known to host affordable lessons in computer literacy, internet usage and online security. Re: The Merge Universe

Neo, I was wondering if there are any laws concerning the act of intentionally gaining powers? Is there an international law concerning it or does it vary from place to place?

Re: The Merge Universe

The last I heard, a democratic government is not required for a state to join the UN. The criteria for admission of new members to the UN as set out in Chapter II, Article 4 of the UN Charter: Membership in the United Nations is open to all peace-loving states which accept the obligations contained ...
