Re: DC's unhealthy Watchmen obsession.

The other obsession that DC has that is annoying to the extreme is: Jack Kirby's Fourth World characters. There is no time in which they are not ever-present. They are always seeing use somewhere in DC's books. It's a nonstop onslaught. The writers act like they have no other characters to write sto...

Re: DC's unhealthy Watchmen obsession.

I can see where a large number of people dislike it,h-e-double hockeysticks i even understand why they do,but i will play this much of a Devil's Advocate for DC; their at least trying to make it an intresting story instead of just dumping them in already established like Marvel would've..... DC's unhealthy Watchmen obsession.

DC merging Watchmen into the main DC Universe only elicits one response from me. That I will take my money and spend it elsewhere. I do not like Watchmen. I never have. It is not the type of story I find entertaining. And its influence has become ever-present in modern comics. To the point that it i...

Re: First Strike: A Hasbro Comic Book Event

I heard about the Sitterson mess long after I ordered the first two issues of Scarlett's Strike Force. And I had really been looking forwaard to that book. Because I like the team of characters. The people who lose out with the book's cancellation are the ones who were primed to buy it. It's the fan...

Re: First Strike: A Hasbro Comic Book Event

That sounds depressing. IDW in general hasn't been overly impressing me with their crossover setting. I love the concept, but Revolution was overall "okay", as opposed to the fun/awesome of the He-Man/ThunderCats or Future Quest crossovers. I followed Revolution. And I liked it well enough. It crea...

Re: First Strike: A Hasbro Comic Book Event

Wait, what hero did they turn into a villain? I haven't read the book yet, but I looked up a synopsis and I don't see any heroes becoming villains. Joe "G.I. Joe" Colton himself was revealed just before First Strike started to be the Baron Ironblood. The very founder of G.I. Joe was revealed to be ...

Netflix's Death Note

Out of morbid curiousity, I watched this movie. It is the american adaptation of Death Note. The series of Japanese live action movies I purchased years ago. And greatly enjoyed. This movie? This movie suffers all of the problems with an americanization of a foreign property. They went for more gore...

Re: Bendis moving to DC

No, he doesn't. DC was destroyed years ago. All he gets to do is hinder the rebuilding even further than it already is. Both Marvel and DC were destroyed decades ago, When they decided events took precedence over everything else. They stopped being about actual good stories. And became about naked ...

First Strike: A Hasbro Comic Book Event

I just finished this. Got the final issues of it and its tie-ins just today in the mail. My general view of it is this: It's too 'edgy', too bleak, too adult for what is supposed to be a set of kids properties. It forced classic characters to act out of character. And that's a disappointment to me. ...

Re: So, favorite pro wrestlers?

Bobby "The Brain" Heenan recently passed away. Bobby was always something special. A Manager, a wrestler, a commentator. He did it all The wrestling of the 80's simply wouldn't be as memorable as it now is without him. He was an original. And I believe that the whole profession suffered greatly when...

Re: So, favorite pro wrestlers?

My two favorite wrestlers were old school 80's wrestlers. And I even had the opportunity to see them live back then. I had a great time. Rowdy Roddy Piper. I think he was one of the best of all time. Jake The Snake Roberts. Anytime he appeared, He just made me smile. And I saw not long ago in an int...

Re: Modern Adventurers

I think it is a call back to the Pulp Age. One of my favorite literary periods. I do not think modern adventurers is an outmoded concept at all. In fact, I think it's an absolutely viable basis for a campaign. I think it is something that has become quite neglected in modern settings. And in my opin...
