LOL, a real person actually won using a low-tier Pokemon? Amazing :).
yup, Park was an absolute madman and his Pachirisu was a monster. Little guy was deceptively bulky, tanking Leafstorms, rock slides, and Draco Meteors from the uber elites. Those last 2 were in the same turn.

Re: Darkseid vs Thanos

Didn't Darkseid canonically exist outside or beyond the multi-verse or some such BS like that? I don't really know his lore fully but I recall that as being given as a reason why he's such a threat in DC. Would that make him beyond the Gauntlet's instant win snap?

So they're taking the Superman concept and deciding to roll with it it as a horror movie?

And- DAMN. An "I Want" song from Cassandra, or as some websites call her, "Sword Lesbian": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbmoK0srUkY
I disagree with that title, because it means best girl can't be my waifu.

Re: Jab’s Builds (Pumyra! Bengali! Lynx-O! Mumm-Ra! Namor Builds!)

As someone who didn't quite follow comics closely as a kid, mostly being exposed to it through things like the animated series of said comic books, I only ever found out Namor even existed well into my adulthood at which point I had thought he was a forgettable no name Aquaman Knockoff. Even now I k...

Re: When did "Ugly Female Protagonists" become such a thing?

You know, if you think about it modern western animation style has regressed back towards the old Fleicher era of animation in the 20s and 30s. With large heads, simple but expressive faces, and bendy noodle limbs with large appendages at the end that makes them easier to see and animate. They used ...

Re: When did "Ugly Female Protagonists" become such a thing?

Yeah, it's always annoyed me that a "yo, you shouldn't fuck the enviroment" message has to come with "industry and big business bad!- says the multinational conglomerate" attached to it. The moral has been regurgitated to death by this point and one of the things I really hate is how in the past few...

Re: When did "Ugly Female Protagonists" become such a thing?

I feel the thunder cats and Voltron where pretty good reboots, while they vastly changed the series they were working with they were pretty respectful and made sure to actually write good stories and characters.

Re: When did "Ugly Female Protagonists" become such a thing?

Most of those examples aren't really... ugly I'd say. With the exception of Helga where most of the cast was rather specifically drawn to be seen as unattractive in a way that would be easy to see even if the character was more realistic and not as stylized. This was part of the charm of the series ...

Re: Captain Marvel MCU

Generally speaking "It's made a lot of money" isn't really an endorsement of quality in today's market for pretty much anything. I mean, Ares gave Michael bay films as an example but there's also Twilight, 50 Shades, Transformers, heck even Pirates of the Caribbean on stranger tides grossed over 1bi...
