Re: Castellia- A Fantasy Setting (Manotaur! Century Worm! Shambling Mound!)

Much simpler answer

"In-universe, the SCP Foundation is a secret organization entrusted by governments around the globe to contain and study anomalous individuals, entities, locations, objects, and phenomena that defy natural law (referred to as SCPs)"

So it's basically a generic version of BPRD

Re: Jab's Builds! (Bulletproof! Tether Tyrant! Brit! Viltrumites!)

So, I hearing correctly that this is a guilty pleasure series? Utter poo, but fun poo? No, not at all. I think it's very good. Even you don't always agree with the direction it takes, it's obvious that it's much more carefully plotted than most of the Marvel or DC comics. I agree with Jab. I prefer...

Re: Jab's Builds! (Bulletproof! Tether Tyrant! Brit! Viltrumites!)

I love Octoboss. He's everything a recurring one-shot villain should be. Just enough background and characterization to make him interesting in small doses. Definitely the kind of villain that wouldn't hold up well if used to frequently. I never liked the Viltrumites much. I wish they had been dealt...

I always liked Otyughs and I'm curious how you're going to fit the garbage eaters into your setting

Chris looked at the two and then back at the monster and shrugged. "Unless you can think of something else, I'll take crowd control. Somebody's got to get people clear if this doesn't work."

Re: Jab's Builds! (Black Tom! The Beast! Pacific Overlords! INVINCIBLE!)

The Mauler Twins are easily my favorite Invincible bad guy(s). And it's not close. They're sort of threatening but absurd at the same time, which matched the early tone of the book perfectly. One of the strengths of the book in general I think is how Kirkman managed to get personality into so many o...

Re: Jab's Builds! (Black Tom! The Beast! Pacific Overlords! INVINCIBLE!)

I think it's easier because those lives he's sacrificing are sort of abstract while his daughter was very real. Given a Gwen Stacy kind of choice where the consequences are right in your face is a different situation.

Re: Jab's Builds! (Black Tom! The Beast! Pacific Overlords! INVINCIBLE!)

Yeah, as a parent myself, I can totally understand that decision. But I'd be sick as hell afterwards about making that decision. Of course, Kirkman never had Mark dwell much on his mistakes so it's hardly surprising that this one didn't have any long term effects either.

Re: Jab's Builds! (Black Tom! The Beast! Pacific Overlords! INVINCIBLE!)

THE ROBERT KIRKMAN GRIEVOUS BODILY HARM TABLE: Literal LOL. That seems like a bit of a light penalty for losing a leg. I'd throw in a big penalty to defense as well. Maybe Vulnerable? Also, when it happens, I'd throw something like a Fort save vs the Damage DC or go unconscious or into shock or som...

He could but if there's 10 bad guys, that would be a -10 on his attack.
