Re: Rules Regarding Removable

I agree with you up to a point. Changes in new printings that don't make it to errata are problematic because they might be newly introduced issues. To use an M&M example, the pocket version of the 2e Core book had fixes accumulated over the years. It also had a blatant error in the Size tables. A m...

Re: Better buy:2e or 3e?

The layout of the 3E book was confusing unless you already had knowledge of 2E. That, with all due respect, is bullshit. Speaking for a group of players who had never played 2e, and in fact, most of us had never looked at 2e, we have found the layout of the book just fine. You know how the saying g...

Re: Better buy:2e or 3e?

As much as I think 2e is superior to 3e, I'd say to go for 3e. Simply said, that's what all future releases will be done in. Using 2e means you're either going to be doing a lot of conversion, or you're stuck with dwindling stock. What made 2nd Edition superior, to you? I know a couple of people pr...

Re: Rules Regarding Removable

I suppose some would argue point-shaving, but at 1-2 PP total per device that could be shaved, there really isn't much scope to the problem. At a PL 12 or even PL 10 game, it may not mean much, but a PL 3 or a PL 5 game, those points are greatly treasured. Agree or no? Disagree. Most characters don...

That's interesting- I know one Mod did a public "Don't bring it up" comment directed at a poster, but I didn't know they were sending out PMs.
Hmm... I know I sent a few PMs warning people to be cautious, particularly around Fildrigar. Maybe I got confused for someone official?

Re: Rules Regarding Removable

Any suggestions for GMs to make sure players aren't exploiting this version of Removable? As stated in my post to EpicEclipse, I don't really think there's an "exploit" here for the most part, even if you go back to the 2E method of considering Removable in 5 pp quanta. The worst you might get is a...

Re: Rules Regarding Removable

It's like people are seeing that removable can be exploited, and rather than just focusing on making sure players aren't exploiting it, as they do for things like the arm chair psychic, they are trying to "fix" it. I am not personally worried about "exploits". I just like the math better when there...

Re: Rules Regarding Removable

Removable as it stands is fine. I just disagree on the idea that the clause is meant to round up the total cost before determining the discount. One of the things I liked about 3e was increased Device granularity. Given the examples in the books, I think it's pretty clear that Green Ronin doesn't ro...

Re: Iron City Sidekicks (2E OOC)

I hadn't realized it has been that long. I owe you all an apology and an explanation. The apology is easy, words being what they are. The explanation is harder because, well, I don't really have a good one. I'm just in one of my periods where I'm sitting down to make posts and then letting myself ge...

Re: Rules Regarding Removable

I think it's really just a matter of properly placing the clause. Given the way the prior books established Removeable, I'd argue that "rounded up" applies to "The flaw is worth –1 point (–2 points for Easily Removable) per 5 total power points of the power’s final cost", not to "the power’s final c...
