Re: DC Cancels Vertigo

By that definition, Darrin, every single comic in print right now is a 'Boutique' as only specialty shops carry them. In fact, they've all been since the 90's, when newsstand copies started to wane. Comic book shops ARE the specialty shops.

Re: DC Cancels Vertigo

Dynamite: The boutique books didn't sell. IDW: The boutique books didn't sell. Dark Horse: The boutique books didn't sell. If they didn't sell, these companies would have been out of business decades ago. Dark Horse is nothing BUT boutique books, they have almost no original properties, they specia...

Re: DC Cancels Vertigo

There were good parts of Vertigo? Since when? It was the bastion of boutique comics that would have never gotten any support any place else. And frankly, Vertigo's existence had been nothing but to DC's detriment. Sucking off resources desperately needed to improve the quality of the main line. It ...

Re: Godzilla King Of The Monsters

This was a movie for Godzilla fans. Not general audiences. It didn't do a good job of explaining things to people new to the property. They focused too much on the human drama. Where they should have been giving a more deep explanation of the setting. So yeah. They dropped the ball on this. Was it?...

Re: Godzilla King Of The Monsters

OK, it's been over a week and I have a question: HOW COULD ANYONE TELL HOW GOOD THE FIGHTS WERE? It was so DARK, full of shaky cam and/or obscured by snow, or shoved into a small corner. And can anyone answer me why they trotted out about 20 monsters but only have maybe 4 of them fight about three t...

Re: Magic the Gathering Anime?

Looks interesting, I'll give it a shot. Castlevania turned out pretty good.

Re: Godzilla King Of The Monsters

I heard that it relies too much on smoke effects, shaky cam, human acting and other obscuring effects that get in the way of the action, is this true?

Re: Avengers End Game

As long as characters end up as good characters who also happen to be gay, ethnic, etc. that'll be fine. Since they are using Marvel characters who tend not to be one dimensional, should not be a problem. You haven't read the recent Marvel comics, then. The ones that have been constantly rebooted.

Re: Avengers End Game

That's skipping over a lot of details. Let's start with Black Panther, with it's myriad of nonsensical problems, but let's focus on Chadwick Bosman. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm the only who is, because his movie sure as hell didn't. He's the most boring part of the movie, with the media constantly ...

Re: Avengers End Game

Anyone else think the Spiderman: Far From Home trailer was too soon? No, they need to push this alternate universe thing so they can shove more female characters into our faces. Hopefully, they won't destroy Spider-Gwen, like they did with Captain Marvel, but I have no real hopes anymore. Consideri...

Ares, this is EXACTLY what Didio always wanted though. His dream was to turn DC into a Marvel that only he remembers.

Re: Avengers End Game

Although I don`t totally agree with the notion of "what they did to the male characters" as you put it, I do get what you mean. I might've changed the phrase (not to take away from your perspective) to what they did to a certain mail character... Oh no, it wasn't just one. They insulted a...
