Re: Star Wars Episode IX: Rise of Skywalker

As long as JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson's movies exist, Star Wars is dead as a setting. Now, this is going to only matter to loser lore nerds like myself, those of us who REALLY get into a setting and the like. I'm going to ignore what JJ did to the Skywalker legacy, how he undid everythng the origina...

About 2009, with All New, All Different Marvel, where they started pushing their political agenda pieces.

Re: Captain Marvel MCU

Yeah, unfortunately the only thing that a big box office really means is that a sequal is likely. I can think of a large number of high grossing movies which are... really quite bad. And a lot of really low grossing movies that were really quite good. But at the end of the day the movie companies a...

Re: Captain Marvel MCU

Ares, I'd say that The Last Jedi comparison MAY be accurate. Cap Marvel HAS split the fanbase as some of them hate the movie for Brie Larson's behaviour. I personally don't care. If I did, Winter Soldier would not be my favourite movie of the entire MCU, because Chris Evans' politics makes me roll m...

Re: Captain Marvel MCU

So... This film is boring. It goes through the paces, but it's a terrible story, typical of modern Marvel Comics, mind you. But I'd give it a 5/10 as a standalone film. As part of the MCU? This is The Last Jedi of the the last 10 years of work, unraveling three key parts. Incoming spoilers: First, H...

Re: Captain Marvel MCU

Well, all the negative reviews have a common theme: It's boring. That's it biggest problem.

The positive reviews are as you'd expect.

Re: Captain Marvel MCU

There is more than one trailer, which does give us more information and shows more range for her, mostly regarding Fury and the cat and interactions with Monica Rambeau. Monica hasn't been seen yet. I'm not sure she'll be in the film, her MOTHER, Maria, is the woman you see Carl interacting with. (...

Re: Aquaman!!

I watched it a couple of days ago and I'm not sure what to make of it. Some people said that Aquaman is a movie looking for its own identity, which might be true, but I think that in doing so it achieved a rather good balance. The general look and feel is much more Marvel than DC, but it manages to...

The pettiest thing? Make stories so good that people would rather read mine than anyone else's. Make Comics Great Again, best revenge EVER.

The more I see, the more I hear, the more I'm coming to the sad realization that Comics as a medium are dead.

Chris: To my knowledge, you haven't directly made any personal attacks against anyone here, which I appreciate. You do, however, have a tendency to word your posts in a way that comes off as angry and confrontational. As much as I appreciate people sticking to the letter of the law, I don't want an...
