The Marvel Cinematic Universe vs the Live Action Sinister Six

And since I'm in a Spider-Man mood, I thought I'd pit villains who have made up the Sinister Six in live action films against various MCU heroes, and see how they stack up. For these fights, we'll be using the Six as portrayed by: Dr. Octopus (Spider-Man 2) Sandman (Spider-Man 3) The Lizard (The Ama...

Spider-Man vs Spider-Man vs Spider-Man (films)

So I just watched a Lets Play of the PS4 Spider-Man game, and it got me thinking about the live action Spider-Man portrayals (by Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland) and how they compare to each other. So I figured, Hell, lets just make a thread about it. I've thus divided them up into se...

Re: Tangled

In the most bullshit, misleading trailer of all time, There are a couple of films that were even worse, I believe, like Kangaroo Jack and Snow Dogs. But few people watched those. How were those misleading? Like most, I never saw those movies. Both movies were advertised basically as these kind of "...

Re: Jab’s Builds (Enchanted! Giselle! Narissa! Bolt! Princess and the Frog!)

It's really depressing that most, if not all, of the 2-D animated films we get these days are direct to video.

Re: Marvel Comics Out-Superboy-Primes Superboy Prime

Beyond that image, the rest of the comic goes on to basically say that what Mojo really needs in order to stop complaining about the new characters is friends and a girlfriend. So, you know. Throw in "basement dwelling incel" in there too.

Re: Jab's Builds! (Kida! Kuzco! Kronk! Yzma! Treasure Planet!)

Nice. I'd like to shoot the shit with that guy about movies. and Spoony if we can dig him up Yeah, I miss the Spoony One. His Counter Monkey videos kept my interest in RPGs going when it was a waning interest in my life, but all he seems to do these days is post on Twitter. Which I can't imagine he...

Re: Marvel Comics Out-Superboy-Primes Superboy Prime

They're naturally going to misrepresent the arguments fans are making, while still making it close enough to the actual argument to make the comparison obvious. Clearly when fans say, "We just want good stories", what they're actually saying is "I hate these new characters because they aren't the on...

Marvel Comics Out-Superboy-Primes Superboy Prime

So, remember how Dan DiDio turned Superboy Prime into a strawman of the fans complaining about what he did to the DCU? Marvel did him one better. https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-4hbh4SB/0/1fc63ba4/O/i-4hbh4SB.jpg Full Sized Image Yup. Marvel took the words of their critics point for point and pu...

Re: Jab's Builds! (Kida! Kuzco! Kronk! Yzma! Treasure Planet!)

Something TV Tropes points out about Lilo and Stitch: As this film's fans are fond of pointing out, it did several things that were considered pretty daring and unconventional for a Disney film back in 2002—but most of those things have since been done by more successful Disney films, making it a bi...

Re: Jab's Builds! (Hades! Circe! Mulan! Shang! Shan Yu! Tarzan! Jane!)

Yeah, that was really interesting- I watched it at my parents' place during Canadian Thanksgiving, and it really kept interesting the whole way. Though I got the sense he's not quite the editor the Nostalgia Critic & Lindsey Ellis are- he kind of skipped around a lot, and missed plot points and did...

Re: DC Comics - Heroes in Crisis & Doomsday Clock = Why so serious?

I mean, if they use this as a way to have more heroes around the globe, I'm all for that, but we shouldn't really have needed it in the first place. DC already had a tone of lesser known heroes and international heroes it could simply bring back and/or re-invent and had plenty of global teams around...

Re: Best ideas/performances from bad movies?

Even extending this to animation, Avengers: Assemble! is inferior to A:EMH , but the Squadron Supreme story arc was really good. This was one thing that immediately came to mind. I'm a huge fan of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (I think it equal to all but the very best episodes of the DCAU), a...
