Re: Pulse Pounding Adventures - Pulp and Film Serial Discussion

So, if there was any doubt how influential the Pulps were on a lot of later writers: I just finished a Spider story called "Satan's Murder Machines", published in December 1939. In it, the Spider fights what appear to be, at first, robots. Roughly 10-to-15 foot tall robots that can kick over cars, k...

Re: Jab’s Builds (Glacius! Maya! Turk! Chief Thunder! Eagle! Fulgore!)

In my own headcannon of the game, Ultra-Tech has had Fulgore observing the fighters during the battle, keeping an especial eye on Jago. Fulgore makes it's debut battle in the semi-finals against Jago, and actually has counters for his abilities. It dodges the first time he does his "dragon uppercut"...

Re: Jab’s Builds (Cinder! Glacius! Maya! Mira! Turk! Chief Thunder!)

I've also been busy prepping for a convention I'll be attending this weekend. Killer Instinct was one of those games I thought was cool back in the day, but it was capable of being cheesed to heck. The story was indeed pretty bad, but the Ultra-Tech Tournament thing makes me want to set this game in...

Alita - Battle Angel

Anyone check out this film yet? It's gotten very good word of mouth from some of the Youtubers I watch, and as a fan of the original manga I'd be happy if we finally got a decent live-action film adaptation of a manga/anime.

Re: Jab’s Builds (Rash! Jago! Sabrewulf! Riptor! Kim Wu! Spinal!)

A skeleton actor would be an amazing character concept. Grumbles about getting typecast in horror movies, what he really wants to do is direct... Yeah, make no bones about it, his acting career would be pretty slim pickings, especially if he wants to branch out into more humerus roles. It would be ...

Re: CW Superheroes: The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow

It's kind of sad how into the whole CW-verse I use to be, but these days I only watch the crossover episodes. Last year's preview of a Crisis on Infinite Earths was interesting, making me curious how they plan to pull that one off. Especially since Barry and Kara were two people killed off in said C...

Re: Superheroes with unique ability sets

They had a lot of fun with that power on Batman: The Brave and the Bold. The only people who thought his powers were cool were Capt. Marvel and the Faceless Hunter.

Re: Pulse Pounding Adventures - Pulp and Film Serial Discussion

Those are some pretty solid suggestions. There's a slightly less well known Pulp hero known as The Avenger, who had a unique ability to mold his features and make himself the perfect master of disguise, as well as someone who carried a wide range of gadgets. On the one hand, Doc Savage, the Shadow, ...

Re: Pulse Pounding Adventures - Pulp and Film Serial Discussion

Oh, have you finalized the villains and henchmen, beyond those mentioned in the original text? I've definitely messed with the list some. I've got a revised opener that I'm working on that will clarify some things, but the additional enemies are going to extend far past the big names that Armitage ...

Re: Pulse Pounding Adventures - Pulp and Film Serial Discussion

Thanks! Not familiar with the PC game/video game characters, or the anime/manga guy. And I guess this is going to involve time travel? What with Conan, John Carter, Lone Ranger, etc. All my best. Time travel will be involved, though it isn't necessary for John Carter. John and the Martians age at r...

Re: The most petty thing you'd do as a comics creator

And while not comics related, I did always want to add something to the ending of Super Mario Sunshine: Mario and his friends watch as the last of the Shines rise into the air, bathing all of Delfino Island in its light, forever banishing the darkness. Bowser and Baby Bowser have been defeated, the ...

Re: Pulse Pounding Adventures - Pulp and Film Serial Discussion

Would you mind listing the line-up? There are a few I honestly don't recognize, including the guy with the bionic hand and the young woman in blue with the cape. No problem. Starting from Left to Right, front row, we've got Atomic Robo, of the comic series of the same name. Conan the Barbarian Jona...

Re: Jab’s Builds (Static! Kid Devil! Kid Eternity! Danny the Street! Damian Wayne!)

That's a very specific power. You'd hope she was just a generic air controller who developed that really leathal technique, but imagine if that really was her only power? Just "I can specifically only use air to fly and take the oxygen out of their lungs, and nothing else".
