Re: Jab's Builds! (Wolverine! Silver Samurai! Shingen! Native!)

Going Native is rarely as fun as people initially think.

Re: [CROSSOVER] Aberrant (White Wolf) vs Paragons (Green Ronin)

The talk about adding more settings to the Aberrant/Paragons (Aberrant Paragons? I'm just going to call it AP from this point) setting as either part of a Red Skies crossover, a "This is how its always been" setting, or a "The Crisis Came and This is What's Left" setting, has made me re-think what w...

Re: Jab's Builds! (Genis-Vell! Phalanx! Wolverine!)

I’m kind of shaky on my knowledge of Marvel’s exact lineup titles in this period... Was Brian on the planet (or even in the Earth-616 dimension) when the whole thing went down? I'm not sure myself. It was the early 90s, so he might have been with Excalibur on any number of otherworldly adventures.

Re: Jab's Builds! (Genis-Vell! Phalanx! Wolverine!)

I’ve never been able to figure out why Matsu'o never became a red-smear on the Tokyo pavement courtesy of Captain Britain... Seems like Brian and Logan should have been taking turns beating the guy to a pulp. Considering what Brian did to the guy that blinded Betsy, it is sad that Brian never got i...

Re: Palladium/Rifts into M&M

Regarding character balance, the Fatal and Friends Rifts: Ultimate Edition had a comment on that, including a quote from Kevin Siembied on game balance that . . . actually makes some sense. And of course, it's in the Glitterboy section. The Glitter Boy, in many ways, is emblematic of RIFTS. It's a r...

Re: Jab's Rifts Builds

I’m not a fan of his C.S. Trooper redesigns (the art is great, I just prefer the original aesthetic), but my favorite RIFTS artist is probably Vince Martin: Yeah, I'm much more of a fan of the classic "Deadboy" armor rather than the white and black armor with the transparent domes and such. https:/...

Re: Jab's Rifts Builds

The Coalition is actually very controversial pretty much everywhere I've seen it. On the one hand, there are people who are fans of the Coalition that point out "Dude, it's there planet and it's being overrun by hostile aliens and demons. They're generally speaking taking pretty reasonable responses...

Re: Comics on YouTube

I'd honestly be tempted to just say that the Joker's fall into those chemical vats gave him a healing factor, one that allows him to eventually recover from almost all injuries. Since there's no real way to reliable kill him without crossing into "Cruel and Unusual Punishment" territory, they have t...

Re: The Arts

THE ARTISTS: Chuck Walton- Draws the most intricately-detailed robots and sinuous creatures in the line. FANTASTICALLY-rendered stuff, absolutely making the robots look better than anyone else's. The ludicrous detail almost makes them un-drawable to anyone else. The creators used him so much in mor...

Re: Proditor's Pad of Pop Culture and V&V. (NEW! Frankenstein Jr.)

Hey, AWESOME, I was just re-reading the old Future's Quest in preparation for a new trade they just released. Good to see you releasing builds again Prod, these and you were missed. Originally, from what I remember, Frankenstein Jr. was paired the Impossibles, and meant to be a much more kiddy take ...

Re: Muslim Culture, History and Politics - Open Debate

My own understanding of the Muslim issue is similar to Woodclaw. Islam has no central authority, so there anytime people disagree on interpretation of texts, there is often not a higher authority to go to for answers. As a result, it's very easy for someone to take a line from the book out of contex...

Re: Running a play-by-post

The most important thing with a Play-By-Post game is communication. If you're running that game, you need to keep in touch with your players regularly, and you need to have players who are willing to commit to the game. 90% of all problems I've had with PbP games was either from the GM not communica...

Re: Comics on YouTube

I'll admit, I always thought Batman: The Dark Knight Returns was kind of overrated. At the very least, I don't should have had the impact it did, given how many people look to it as the definitive Batman story and an example of how he should be written. Outside of his Daredevil run, I really feel Fr...

Re: Jab's Builds! (Genis-Vell! Phalanx! Wolverine!)

The Silver Samurai is, honestly, someone criminally underutilized. He has a cool name, a distinctive look, and a pretty solid set of abilities. They just need to decide if he's a villain or a reformed villain trying to be a hero. Honestly, I'd choose the latter, give Japan another good guy, even if ...

Re: Jab's Builds! (Genis-Vell! Phalanx! Wolverine!)

Why do I think Wolverine leaving his own body parts would've made a much better story? Well, they would just grow back, but it'd be . . . weird. I did like that story, where we got to see the Hell that had become this guys existence. Every year, Logan comes and cuts off a piece of the guy. A hand. ...
