Re: The Mandalorian

Well, I just finished episode 1 and I'm ridiculously happy. Dave Filoni is someone who has a long history with Star Wars and has mostly done some solid work with it, even if I have some issues with his take on the Force. But this episode really shows the strength of Star Wars and how diverse a setti...

Re: Batman / Ninja Turtles Trilogy

I just finished reading the third installment of the Batman / Ninja Turtles crossovers, and it's amazing how the writer, James Tynion IV, really gets the characters and does such a great job of making the two franchises blend together. Part 3 especially deserves a shout out for reminding everyone o...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (King of Fighters!!! US Sports Team! Kyo Kusanagi!)

Yeah, I've never really had much interest in Kyo. I definitely understand wanting to have an iconic Japanese hero for SNK, and KoF being the perfect place to debut him, but I never much cared for the design or his storyline. And it isn't to say that the Japanese School Uniform can't work, Jotaro Kuj...

Re: He-Man and the Masters of the Multiverse

Yeah, the weird chibi-He-Man feels way too "Spider-Ham", especially since, to my knowledge, there really wasn't a He-Man like that. Unless that's suppose to be the original Filmation He-Man, which I hope isn't the case. But the idea of a good Keldor and an evil He-Man is kind of interesting, so I'm ...

Re: Suggestions on how to build....

This sounds mostly like a Summon effect. You'd definitely want to give it the following extras: -Controlled -Heroic -Mental Link This to me would allow the character to essentially mentally control the robot form at range, and the robot would function as another character. I don't think you need Ext...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Yamazaki! Rock Howard! Kain! The King of Fighters!!!)

It kind of takes away from the idea that the King of Fighters is this elite collection of the best fighters in the world when a trio of sports athletes show up to take on guys with decades of martial arts training, real world combat experience and most of whom have some kind of chi powers.

Re: What's new with the big two: Marvel and DC Comics discussion thread.

I gotta admit, I've never really liked Gwenpool, but this bit made me laugh: https://2.bp.blogspot.com/pobDbet5PljmEnvZnJlZ_uBOZtpadBzVNquC5gfFnzsKO9q4RmHcGoduZ4WuZLqu1Gxe8zDINdbu0YwnxTKqLMu8RoGneK7IOhWBTHdM5ADz0og6EjPec4cUhtvgbheVHqadcpkomg=s1600 I'm not a fan of meta-humor in general, but basicall...

And just to prove that I can post here without whining about the current state of comics: https://2.bp.blogspot.com/GKoEIbnlT_Ox0kmGe1lFYc_anB0JB9rqHmUD_dQKIqPCem8vr-3CzyO0dCdirYSscK41zo9U8cfIq0bAUpSmoIhSGilFG9hMnBl3pPHUeoMSfPhv_oUkq8NI9DCMsGnATs9cZ_hN2Q=s1600 This is a thing that exists. Re: Jab's Rifts Builds (Automatons! Corrupt! Mystic Knight!)

They did eventually release a book called Madhaven (formerly Manhattan) that made it clear that the Order of the White Rose was not only alive, but thriving. They got further supplements in Rifter, and the guys seemed like they'd make solid PCs, especially with some of the gear they could get. It's ...

Re: The Mandalorian

Still think they missed the obvious protagonist of such a series, namely Boba Fett. There's a rumor that George Lucas gets a royalty check any time they use the characters he created, which might be why this series involves a Mandalorian and IG-Series Assassin Droid that aren't Boba Fett and IG-88....

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Geese! Kim Kaphwan! Franco! Wolfgang Krauser!)

Fatal Fury 2 was a solid step up over Fatal Fury 1 in a lot of ways. The fight choreography was a lot better, the villain was entertaining and got his hands dirty a bit more, we got a lot of appearances from game characters, and the story was good for what it was. I compare this one to a Rocky movie...

Since I don't know where else to ask, anybody been watching Watchmen on HBO? I'd say the best place would be starting a thread about HBO Watchmen in the Movies and TV forum. Since I don't know where else to ask, anybody been watching Watchmen on HBO? A Watchemn tv show? You dear sir are clearly mis...

Re: What's new with the big two: Marvel and DC Comics discussion thread.

Somewhat amusingly, the big finale of Event Leviathan was spoiled a month ago by DC's screwy Jimmy Olsen book. Which speaks volumes of the amount of editorial oversight that the company possesses. Or possibly they've stopped pretending to care. I'm flipped through the Jimmy Olsen book, and it basic...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Duck King! Raiden! Billy Kane! Geese Howard!)

Yeah, Geese Howard is AWESOME. He's this elite crime boss who owns the city of Southtown, is based out of the tallest skyscraper in the city, which he owns, he has his own legion of mooks and illegal activities, he's a Japanophile who is completely in love with the culture, AND he's a martial arts m...
