Re: What's new with the big two: Marvel and DC Comics discussion thread.

I'm also really disappointed with the nihilistic notion that set off Namor's apparent mad-on for the surface world: the idea that humans on a beach would just stand by and watch Atlantean children die. I know, commentary on how people will just watch as a beached dolphin or similar sea animal die f...

Re: What's new with the big two: Marvel and DC Comics discussion thread.

Absolutely and 100% agree!!! Dust of the old ones and expand you story telling potential. Stingray could have been so instrumental in Namors totally understandable rage. He could have been that amazing bridge between Namor's world and the surface. He could have gone on to show it by explaining the b...

Let's see, it's a Tuesday . . . Yep, Namor's a villain again. Straight up villian.... Straight up "beat a fellow superhero who was just trying to talk within an inch of his life and then have a bunch of sharks completely devour him while he barely hangs on to consciousness" villain. Yeah it was Sti...

Re: Pulse Pounding Adventures - Pulp and Film Serial Discussion

The Radio Archives site I linked you on pages 2 & 3 has a lot of those books and more, both in novel and audiobook form. Than you. Are they appropriate for younger readers as well? My youngest is 13 and this would interest him. Hmmm. They don't include any overt sexual activity or generally a lot o...

Re: Pulse Pounding Adventures - Pulp and Film Serial Discussion

The Kenneth Robeson Doc Savage books are frequently a lot of fun and awesome. They include everything from lost Roman Legions found in the heart of Africa to Nazi saboteurs apparently aligned with the lost mermen of Atlantis. I have a small used book store in my town, I will have Doc Savage on his ...

Re: Pulse Pounding Adventures - Pulp and Film Serial Discussion

And while I love the Spider (and the Shadow to a lesser extent), my favorite Pulp hero has to be this guy: https://d1466nnw0ex81e.cloudfront.net/n_iv/600/3116498.jpg That looks awesome. Fixed it for you. Thanks Ares! What was wrong with it? From what I can tell, you had copied the wrong link to the image. I had to find the original image by copying the link into Google and do "Search By Image" to find it. When posting an image on a wiki you always want to get to the original image...

Re: Top RPG Conventions

Hey folks. Like I mentioned a while back, I'm planning to Kickstart my own tabletop RPG sometime in 2019. One of my plans starting 2019 is to hit the gaming convention circuit to do some final playtesting and early advertising, try to build up good word-of-mouth reviews for when the Kickstarter lau...

Re: What's new with the big two: Marvel and DC Comics discussion thread.

So anyone reading DC's newest event, Heroes in Crisis? Because wow, it's pretty much everything I didn't like about Identity Crisis (which was 85% of it), but dealing with the added benefit of dealing with Tom King's PTSD. Read it and did not like it. The tone was off and why the Hell tarnish ALL o...

Re: Pulse Pounding Adventures - Pulp and Film Serial Discussion

Yes to it being Alexander and your proposed origin would have been lightyears better than what we were shown. Like you said the movie industry as a whole just does not get the Pulp vibe, they either miss it entirely or happen upon it accidentally. I cannot share how it fell about the Green Hornet tr...
