Re: Female Action Figures: Hits and Missed Opportunities
(Exactly what Scarlett's secondary specialty was supposed to be is a heavily debated mystery. Infantry is a popular suggestion as is something to do with psychological warfare. Also the joke suggestion of Legal Clerk to match the others. I think Criminal Investigation Division makes the most sense....

Well, I finally got caught up on this.
Spoiler
So He Who Remains is some version of Kang, that's much is clear. I also was surprised that He Who Remains was right.

Re: On the topic of California
There an interesting book on the topic of women in different fields. Primary focus is on STEM, but the basic concept applies to a wider array of fields I think. Any ways, basic analysis is that in low income/developing/regressive countries the rate of male/female job holders in the STEM fields are s...

Re: He-Man and the Masters of the Multiverse
Yeah, the weird chibi-He-Man feels way too "Spider-Ham", especially since, to my knowledge, there really wasn't a He-Man like that. Unless that's suppose to be the original Filmation He-Man, which I hope isn't the case. But the idea of a good Keldor and an evil He-Man is kind of interesti...

Re: What's new with the big two: Marvel and DC Comics discussion thread.
What's new in DC? Superman told everybody he's Clark Kent. Like everybody, at a press conference. Alfred's dead and Batman and Catwoman forgot to get married, but decided they are emotionally so its all good. Bane killed Thomas Wayne. Martian Manhunter's half Thanagarian son from the future released...

Re: What has Trump done wrong?
As an outsider I can tell you what Donald Trump did wrong: he treats politics as a zero sum game where he's the only winner, and combines it with the personality of a rabid wolverine. Socially, most of his foreign policies regarding trade are actually stuff most liberals would support. But they can'...

Re: Big List of Vehicles
Is there a large list of vehicles done up in the same manner as character builders have characters? I know Batgirl III did a large amount of 40K vehicles in one of her threads (thanks) but are there any other lists similar to that on here or ATT or that other place...roninarmy? If not, is there any...

Re: Small Press Comic Companies - Talk About Em Here
I found Bubble Comics. Its a Russian publisher, the largest in Russia I believe, that has a few neat comics. Not that many translated into English but those that are seem to be pretty well drawn and written, with the odd translation hiccup.

Burt Reynolds passed away. Looks like the Bandit finally ran out of road.

Re: Pulse Pounding Adventures - Pulp and Film Serial Discussion
I always enjoyed the little nods by Fritz Leiber to the Lovecraft work as well, the result of their dialogue despite Leiber just beginning his writing career and Lovecraft being close to ending his. And, of course, Leiber was as much, if not more, of an influence on classical RPGs like Dungeons &am...

Re: Old-school Video Games with Insane(ly Awesome) Backstories
I always liked the original Duke Nukem (the EGA sidescroller) The game is set in the year 1997. Dr. Proton is a madman, determined to take over the world with his army of Techbots. Duke Nukem, the eponymous hero, takes upon the task of stopping him. The first episode takes place in the devastated ci...

Re: Qualitative vs Quantitative measurements
Qualitative measures are only useful if the people using them understand that they're not quantitative. Far too many people either intentionally obscure the difference or are absolutely ignorant that there is a difference. Watch C-SPAN sometime. I tend to agree, but it really depends since there ar...

Re: Bendis moving to DC
Did Bendis just have Jor-El take Clark's family from him, and Lois just let him? The hell? Its more a Clark ultimately decides to let Jor-El spend time with Jon, and Lois chooses to go in an effort to provide the guidance they want for their boy. I'm more annoyed that it resulted in the cancelation...

Re: Qualitative vs Quantitative measurements
I watched a video series by a YouTuber who I respect very much, where she tried to educate her audience on how qualitative evidence could be valid and useful. At every step, I stopped and thought "Could bias or willful ignorance influence this particular step meaningfully? ...yeah, it really c...

Re: Aquaman!!
His name is Black Manta, he goes around with a giant clam on his head with two big red eyes painted on the front, and is an underwater pirate. And he's an Aquaman villain. Most people would look at that and see "silly". If they can make Black Manta half as awesome as he is in the newish r...
