Re: Jab’s Builds! (SHIELD Elite Agents! Alone in the Dark!)
The original AitD is actually a pretty great game in spite of being dated. It just...works so brilliantly in its combo of action, puzzles, and scares. Infogrames also made a couple "Call of Cthulhu" games after it, "Shadow of the Comet" and "Prisoner of Ice," with the f...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Steeljack! El Hombre! Starbright! The Gentleman!)
The beard shaped like spider fangs is a cute visual flourish.

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Steeljack! El Hombre! Starbright! The Gentleman!)
One of the better Billy analogues in my book. I quite liked the issue finally expanded upon him.

Re: The Black Badge
Such a neat look. I like how the outline and buttons of the jacket lapel/flap form into the shape of a badge too, which all form together to give him that sort of "old school cop" look.

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Jack-In-The-Box! Mister Drama! Weirdies! The Dark Age!)
I found it amusing how, for all his Guy Gardner-ness, he looked like Hal Jordan with the serial number filed off.

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Jack-In-The-Box! Mister Drama! Weirdies! The Dark Age!)
Thinking more on it, "Gloo" seems like a double take that to the Clone Saga and Venom's "Lethal Protector" trajectory, what with being a clone of Jack-in-the-Box with blobby powers who tries to fight crime, but often takes things way too far. While he lacks Venom's "edgy bad...

Re: The Dark Age: Who Was Who?
The Street Angel & Black Velvet: The happy-go-lucky jokester street-level hero and the dark woman who represents darkening stories? Obviously Daredevil and Elektra, though here it's a case of literal mind powers at the hands of Black Velvet. Black Velvet also put me in mind of a mashup of Cloak...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Altar Boy! Cleopatra! The Blue Knight! Jack-In-The-Box!)
Alex Ross' designs are amazing in his Astro City runs, but suffer from what might be called "Only One Artist" syndrome, meaning that they usually end up looking MUCH less impressive when done by any other illustrator of lesser caliber, which is almost everyone else, of course. All my best...

Re: Demolitia
-She's quite powerful (the Wrecking Ball is devastating, and the Jackhammer does repeated Multiattack damage) Yeah, there's a panel in the Crimson Cougar story where she smacks Samaritan in the face with it, and the way his expression and head turn are illustrated made it look like a pretty solid h...

Re: Black Rapier
Elegant looking, really. Has an appealing simplicity about it. "And he's in black - always chic," as Joker would put it.Jabroniville wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 11:05 pm

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Pushing Daisies! Jack O'Lantern! Astro City!)
Now I'm imagining some guy attempting to make the concept "legit" and rebranding as "Otterbox"...only to make things even worse. xD

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Pushing Daisies! Jack O'Lantern! Astro City!)
Infidel is such a neat look at designing a character as a contrast to another. Bald with a green goatee and mustache as opposed to the clean-shaven face and blue hair of Samaritan, the similar yet different chest emblem which takes the psuedo-star on Samaritan's chest and makes it almost avian in a ...

Zeus and Thor
Back again with some new infoblocks, this time covering a couple heavy hitters, with ties into the greater mytharc involving the existence of divine pantheons and mythological realms on ancient Earth, their expulsion, and their impending return... https://i.postimg.cc/Px2HktFr/Zeus.png https://i.pos...
