Re: Jab's Builds! (Shades! Power Man! Hardcore! Jessica Jones!)

so yeah, I think due to this thread I had a Luke Cage dream last night. It was very clearly the Netflix Luke[.] Yeah, sure, Jabroniville is the reason you’re having dreams about Mike Colter. Stick to that story. We totally believe you. And then I woke up on that cliffhanger. Probably the closest we...

Re: [3E OOC] Toys Will Be Toys

Just had an acute attack of needing twenty-six hour long days instead of a meager twenty-four. It happens. Do you get notifications when the topics update? Yes and I have been reading along. Finding a spare half-hour to post something more substantial than a line of snarky commentary from my phone ...

Re: Batgirl III's Character Thread (Pussy Galore)

As was pointed out very early in this run of builds, the Batman and Bond have a lot of similarities. So too does Wolverine.

“Steeplejack” is a really cool name though. I’m definitely going to file it away for that Edwardian / Victorian Superhero campaign I’ve always wanted to do, but have never bothered to actually do.

Krysten Ritter is 5-6” taller and has green eyes. Noticeably fairer skin tone as well.

Re: Jab's Builds! (Shades! Power Man! Hardcore! Jessica Jones!)

Kristen Ritter actually is unrelated to the late John Ritter; she grew up on a farm, and got her big break as a teen model. Pretty plays variations of the same character over and over (type- acting ) but she's really good at that type. All my best. She was the Cordelia Chase style Alpha-Bitch on Ve...

Re: Batgirl III's Character Thread (Pussy Galore)

Dean Martin himself is the epitome of “martini flavored,” although it should be noted that he was a strick teetotaler whilst performing. His ever present tumbler of scotch was normally apple juice, he certainly partied as hard as anybody else in the Rat Pack, but he only ever worked clean.

Re: Jab's Builds! (Discus & Stiletto! Shades! Power Man! Hardcore!)

Hawkeye was a jobber, so were Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch. Black Widow wasn’t a “jobber” in the usual sense, but she was basically a disposable “femme fatale” who vamped it up with Tony Stark... and then vanished for several years.

Re: Woman faces descrimination as police and media refuse to label her crime "rape".

I haven’t read anything about this case other than the linked article. I’m willing to accept that the judge was sincere in thinking she was acting out of a temporary mental defect and isn’t likely to be a danger in the future, given proper mental health support (and probably several pounds of psycho...

Re: Recruitment Thread (The Jabverse)- Recruiting Till July 23rd

I drive everyone in my family bonkers by using nautical jargon in everyday speech. This was drilled into me in the service and I still work in the maritime industry, so everyone I interact with on a regular basis uses the same jargon. We’re pretty much all retired Navy, retired Coasties, the occasio...

Re: Batgirl III's Character Thread (Pussy Galore)

Almost every Bond film plot (especially from the Connery/Lazenby/Moore eras) will work fairly well as a street-level superhero story, if you shave off the serial numbers and maybe give the faceless goons slightly better weaponry. Most Bond master-villains are pushovers in a fight, even against Bond,...

Re: Jab's Builds! (Luke Cage! Discus & Stiletto! Shades! Power Man!)

Of course, DC tends to focus more on "Rogues Galleries". Captain Boomerang isn't a jobber like, say, Comanche is. He appears in COUNTLESS books as a recurring guy. The Flash & Batman in particular took major focus on that, to great success. [/quote That’s kind of my point. Turning a “jobber” into a...
