Re: Jab’s Builds! (Yoshi! Bowser Jr.! Rosalina! Donkey Kong Country!)

My niece and nephew LOVED Donkey Kong Country. I mean they played that on my SNES for YEARS long after I got bored with it. I thought my copy may have a glitch in it, because one of the ice levels was JUST IMPOSSIBLE. I beat it once but died on the very next level. None of my friends could ever bea...

Re: Jab's Rifts Builds (Sky-Knights & Cloudweavers! Mountain Giants! Worm Wraith!)

These west world RIfts things make me wanna go watch Oblivion. Is that the Tom Cruise movie or the TV show? I've never heard of either until I just checked. Honestly it's not either. It's a Full Moon feature from the late 90s, that was a wild west setting on an alien planet. It's a b movie but a fu...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Hammer Bros.! Peach! Piranha Plants! Koopa Kids!)

One thread over on RPG.Net that I loved (and contributed to) was the idea of the Hyborian Mushroom Kingdom . Basically, the idea is that the Mushroom Kingdom and all of the Mario Games one looks cutesy and silly because of the art style. If you just describe the world itself, it sounds like somethi...

Re: What's new with the big two: Marvel and DC Comics discussion thread.

Oh yeah I don't care for that, but the name Perpetua.....it strikes as almost like a parody name for a big cosmic in like the Tick or something "Look! It's Omnipotus!" also as far as the Justice League stories go....I'm putting on my grandpa glasses but I'm going to say these kinds of stories were b...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Rebecca! Duke! Koga Shuko! Double Dragon V!)

I forgot how claw-happy those characters seemed to be.

It was definitely the 90s

Re: What's new with the big two: Marvel and DC Comics discussion thread.

I flipped through the current Justice League Dark series to give a modern DCU book a try, starting at around issue 5 and seeing where it would go. As of issue 13, the latest issue, I found myself constantly thinking "This has to get better at some point, right?" And it never really did. I thought s...

Re: What's new with the big two: Marvel and DC Comics discussion thread.

yeah Slott's FF is something I've been enjoying alot lately. The first few issues had the team recalling a previously unknown adventure years ago that required.....well.....the member of the FF who was the best singer to sing. "Now who is that?" Sue: I'm on it. Reed: Johnny. Ben: Johnny. Johnny: Me....

Re: What's new with the big two: Marvel and DC Comics discussion thread.

I dunno if it's been mentioned yet or not, but Ares will be pleased. Spoilers Seems like the Thing finally got a KO win over the Hulk. It messed him up but he did it. Woohoo! Any idea what issue this happened in? I need to check this out. Slott's Fantastic Four #13. I'd read #12 too. It's a 2 parter.
